Went there on a Saturday afternoon and the places was packed, but fortunately we managed to find a spot. Despite how busy it is, people there were very friendly and attentive. Service was very fast, and the prices are reasonable considering the location. Moreover, they are quite helpful in suggesting what to drink, which is good considering that they have a decent list to choose from. We didn't try the food, but it looks good, and would love to come back again to try it. Next time I would make sure to have a reservation before going there.

Great lovely decor and cosy place but APPALLING service. The whole evening experience was ruined by this older male (manager)? It was busy and I understand. We were just trying to find a place to sit down for drinks. Then, he was rude by saying “what do you want me to say”. How odd! We didn’t even say anything that might upset him. I used to work in hospitality industry and I DO understand the work can be exhausting. But, please at least show some kindness to jolly first time customer. My friend recommended this place to me several times and had high praised, so I thought give it a go this evening. Definitely not going back.

They say you should never go back. Over 30 years ago, when a young graduate, Le Beaujolais used to be our regular meeting place. Today I decided to engage in nostalgia whilst in London, and we came back to find that the place has hardly changed, a small haven of France in Central London. The food was still generously portioned and great to eat, the house wine delicious and the welcome as good as we remembered. Sometimes they say you should not go back, Le Beaujolais is the place that disproves that rule.

One of the weirdest experiences. We were seated on the bar. My partner was pushed (not a exaggeration, and he did not attempt to say excuse me or anything) out the way by the manager when he was trying to get behind the bar. We were both in shock to even say anything and generally struggle to complain. We then moved ourselves to a table when one freed up. The other waiter seemed to have an issue with this as it was booked for two hours later, but almost seemed like she was doing us a favour by letting us sit there for a drink. We then asked for the bill after our drink. I could see three staff members trying to work out which our bill was. I offered to tell them what we had, which they completely ignored. I then got up to go to the bar to help, when another waiter acted like I was trying to leave without paying. Extremely weird staffing practise and just felt so uncomfortable and unwanted the whole time we were there. Very pretty interior and in theory would be a lovely bar

An author friend recommended this place to me while I was visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed a glass of wine and French cheese sandwich! Great surroundings, delightful staff, and food & drink worth coming back to again.

My husband and I visited this great wine bar in London, whilst we were on our honeymoon. We had the best time and so glad we visited, great wine and food. The cheese was amazing and the wine was perfection. Even better was the charismatic owner Jean-Yves who we chatted with through out the night. Would definitely recommend a visit and we will be back next time we visit London.

My new favourite bar in London. A wonderfully quirky, buzzy place which couldn't feel further from the touristy, chain-heavy part of London it's situated in. Nice wine (I enjoyed a Viognier then a Beaujolais & Pinot Noir) & will be back to try the food. The place was absolutely packed but they seemed to be finding a way to accommodate everybody, whether standing, bar seating or at tables. We had reserved & were put on a table of 8 to share - sort of added to the charm but it wouldn't be for everyone.

Very quirky place with excellent wine selection. They have their own branded house red wine which was pretty good, but quite light (in case you like more full bodied reds). We also had a dinner there which was very hearty with big portions. I really recommend the beef dish and the fish pie, both were delicious.

Lovely French wine bar, with a selection of decent wines by the glass. I dined by myself at the bar, which is a great place to meet people. It was packed when I walked in; the mademoiselle allowed me to stand by the bar to drink while waiting for a seat. Had a petite assiette de charcuterie to accompany my drinks. While food is not my main concern, the generous selection of 6 types of cured meats & a pate made me very happy. Drinks wise, started with a Ricard, then a glass each of muscadet sevre, Gigondas, Cahors. Enjoyed the progression between wine and the charcuterie. The eclectic decor of ties & glass mugs hung from the wooden ceiling made the place feel more fun. For me, service is good. I saw some scowls by other patrons, but it takes 2 to tango! ;) Highly recommended.

Found by complete accident, but we'll glad that we did. The host was more than happy to find room for us on a busy Saturday night. A vast selection of wines from France but a little disappointed not more French beers available rather than Stella!!! Food menu upstairs was well priced and good basic bistro selection. Would love to know how to become a member to eat in the restaurant downstairs. Will definitely be back soon

I regret to say our experience at Le Beaujolais was highly disappointing. Despite it being lunchtime with ample space, the staff made it uncomfortably clear that our presence with a baby was unwelcome. We chose a table that accommodated our group of three adults and a baby in a pushchair without impeding any pathways, yet the server’s rudeness overshadowed our visit. His insistence that a baby should not be at the establishment was both shocking and disheartening. Such unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. I would urge families, especially those with young children, to consider the many other friendly options in the area where the welcome is warmer and the service is more accommodating.

Cute little French bar with a small but very good wine collection. The charcuterie board was also excellent!

Very authentic French bar (not the Club of the same name below - which is Incredible!). Had several carafe's of house white which was decent and great value. Regular haunt for me and will be back soon for food and wine - definitely worth a visit.

I’ve been meaning to go for sometime, and watching a show nearby meant the opportunity finally arose. I didn’t have a booking but a seat was found on a big table where others were also sat. The whole place was packed with quite an eclectic bohemian crowd in this quirky bar/restaurant which gave the place a charming energy. Both the food and wine was excellent, served quickly, and the bill when it came showed great value too. If you, like me, love bars and restaurants that herald to a bygone time in a bygone place, then please do give this place a go.

A quaint and quirky French wine bar that I would definitely recommend. The staff are friendly, there is a decent wine selection as well as other options if you still wish to visit London's oldest French wine bar but wine isn't your thing. The food is rustic yet tasty and a decent portion. The toulouse Sausages were enjoyed by my friends. The picture is the spicy sausages. Call for a reservation of you would like a table but I'm sure you could find space to pop in for a cheeky glass if you wanted. Definitely worth a visit and I will be returning.

This is an exceptional find, centrally located in Theatreland, 3 minutes walk from Leicester Square. A vibrant and busy spot, yet, service and attention to detail are second to none. Prices are reasonable and food and drink excellent. We would recommend Le Beaujolais without hesitation.

Tucked in on a side street, this spot is truly wonderful. We ducked in here for a glass of wine before a show and were immediately charmed. So much so that after the show, we came back for dinner. The dinner was lovely. If you find yourself in the area, I strongly recommend a cheese plate, the boeuf bourguignon, and shepherd's pie paired with a bottle of red of your choosing. They served us pretty late, around 10 pm.

Always meet at Le B. with two old friends. One occasionally brings his dog Gromit, generally well behaved. Being here is as good as being at a bistro in Montmartre, Bordeaux, Avignon, or anywhere en La France. Simple, well ccoked food, charming service and an excellent wine list. An almost hidden gem.

The food is good, but being asked to close the bill mid-bite all of a sudden instead of paying right up (like the pub) or after you’ve finished your meal is straight up weird and makes you feel rushed and unwelcome. I would have happily ordered another glass/dessert otherwise. Not a great experience.

Fab place, very personable staff and owner. Don't often say this but it made a memory for me in all aspects of the experience. It is so nice to find a place that is authentic and so individual. Food was good and well priced. Every member of the staff smiled and it was clear that as well as being a great place to be a customer, the people who work there love it to. Bravo, Les Beaujolais!

This wine bar could have easily be a 4 stars, however not quite yet there. No issues with the staff (the chap was very friendly) and the food is tasty, however it's mega pricey for what you get... £8.50 for a tiny little micro portion of rillettes... that's plain outrageous. £17.50 for the boeuf bourguignon (used to be £6.80 and £14 before...) But that's not it, we wanted the merguez and frites... no can do, kitchen is closed... ok so we would like a croque-monsieur then instead... no can do, kitchen is closed. Also, it's not a good idea to argue in the open kitchen where everyone can hear you... and for me who understands French, it's a bit embarrassing to hear that... not very professional.

Ok, i am French and i tend to avoid French restaurants abroad, as they usually turn into touristic traps. This one is not! The food was tasty and the wine went down like a charm. Discussing with the owner for a moment made me realise that it is definitely a place i could call home!

Nice place. Wine selection wasn’t my favourite and it was pretty pricey. Staff were fantastic though. No complaints there 🙂

Le Beaujolais is a fantastic hidden gem!!! Lovely vibe, food, and drink! A great to visit solo, as a couple or as part of a group, as was my visit! 10/10 with a true French service feeling with a recognisable French attitude!!! This place transports you out of London and to a feeling of Montmartre, especially in the evening, as just before you enter you will glimpse St Martin's Theatre in the background, with The Mouse Trap neon light on. A must visit if you are passing Litchfield Street! Thanks for a great experience, everyone at Le Beaujolais!

Le Beaujolais is one of our favourite, centrally located yet hidden gems. You'll go for the French wine, cheese, pate, rillettes and authentic, select French recipes, with a friendly service. No bookings here, just come along and wait for the next available table. You can share a table, too, so waiting times are not prohibitive. I love dining in France and Le Beaujolais is the closest thing you can find in Central London. Highly recommended and, if you see me there, don't hesitate to say hello!
