My review is purely based on the standard of the room. Is not my first time in this particular hotel or chain of hotels, and I am not complaining about the size of the room/bathroom because being a budget hotel you get what you pay for but the fact that the ac was broken, and the room was unbearable warm stinking like cigarette smoke and the floor was so dirty that was sticky. All the dust, dirt, hairs and more end up on our bed when we walk from the shower to the bed... I understand that is a cheap hotel but that doesn't excuse the standard of the room.

Really good location easy to get to with the train station and the tram. I have physio here. The man I see is the best physio I've ever seen the only thing I would say I wasn't comfortable with is that their are no blinds or curtains and there are all high rise buildings outside . So it isn't very private. It's in the middle of the main road.

Room needed a good dust. No toilet roll holder or soap holder. Strong damp smell from shower drain. Staff don't greet you when entering hotel. Cleaners hoovering and hitting hoovers off skirting boards at 9:15am. Only one lift working and coffee machine broke within 12 hours of arriving and no intention to fix it. Virgin WiFi signal there is alright, not as good as it should be. The room doors squeak very loudly and the slam is so heavy. Air conditioning/heater only had cool setting so no way of producing heat. Taxi freephone in lobby would be helpful.

I want to be positive about this hotel but unfortunately I can't. I want to say for the price it's ok but I can't, It was only £7 cheaper than premier Inn, but Premier Inn would have felt 100% cleaner and 100% more comfortable. Sorry easy hotel I wouldn't really want to pay more than £25 for basically a bed and a toilet. On the plus side the TV worked.

You get what you pay for, twin room was small and cosy, basic necessities. Would recommend them having a night stand to put phone and other things on. Receptionist was very welcoming and super friendly, giving me useful advice for my travels! Would recommend this hotel if you are staying for a stop by, quick over night stay.

This is poor, even by easyHotel standards. The worst thing about all easyHotels is that every corridor and circulation space is covered in CCTV cameras, and you cannot simply walk anywhere in the hotel due to access restrictions - prison mentality rather than a hotel, so it's impossible to relax. The windows in my room were very filthy, there was no table in the room, and the shower was much lower quality than other easyHotel locations (not even any shower gel or shampoo). Very overpriced considering how low quality this place is. And there are a whole load of suspicious 5-star reviews containing no comments (from brand new accounts) so they seem to be even resorting to giving themselves fake reviews... tragic.

I came here with low expectations after reading reviews and the infamous location of Croydon. However I am a frequent EasyHotel user across the country so also kept this in mind. My first encounter at check in was with a lovely lady who was quick and efficient and checked me into room 712. I headed up, went into the room, and it was as expected. There was room to walk around both sides of the double bed, wallpaper was a bit dull, but it didn’t smell, was clean, and nicely presented. The bathroom was small, but this is to be expected at EasyHotel’s. Didn’t have a problem with any of the utilities such as shower, toilet, sink, plugs. The air conditioning also worked great. Windows were also open during the hot weather we’re experiencing which meant the room was on the cooler side, which was great. Location was a 2 minute walk from East Croydon station with frequent train connections to various City stations and services to the South. It’s brilliant for solo or paired travellers for a one or two night stop, especially if you’ll be experiencing London or surrounding areas and just need a stop over. It’s not a Hilton so do keep this in mind!

Quite honestly the worse midden I have ever stepped foot in. Arrived to someone being arrested at the entrance. Given 1 towel for 2 people for 3 nights and asked if I want a remote for the tv..:. Room was filthy, a double bed with hardly any space to even walk around, no tables, no hangers, no furniture of any kind. Bathroom was tiny, so small that the toilet actually sits half way in the broken shower. Toilet seat was brown. Room smelt damp. Windows were filthy and covered in bird poo. Heard crying in the hall 5 minutes after arriving, opened the door to find an abandoned child, crying. Had to get reception staff to come up and take him downstairs. Walked out and never returned, not a chance I was staying in this place. £180 down the drain.

I recently stayed at an easy hotel and overall the experience was okay for the price that I paid. There were definitely signs that the place had not been well taken care of, however. In terms of room cleanliness, it left something to be desired. The furniture looked quite essential and had a few pieces missing. On the bright side, staff were friendly and the basic amenities were functional. Taking into account the lower budget accommodation, I would give it an overall rating of two out of five.

The room was clean and the reception staff were helpful. That's the positives over with. The EasyJet experience doesn't work in a hotel; you are here for more than just a couple of hours. Rooms NEED a chair, a table, a kettle and a bedside table. And fresh towels every couple of days minimum. A bed alone is not sufficient. It isn't even cheaper than the nearest travelodge, my least-liked hotel chain...until recently!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. This is not a hotel, this is a hostel. The common areas were filthy, it was iike the staff couldn't be bothered. Just when you think it couldn't get worse, You find out you have to check out at 10.00am Who does that unless you pay more for an already overpriced charge to stay an extra 3hrs. No cupboards, no side stools. This not a HOTEL.

Don’t stay here if you’re claustrophobic or if confined spaces make you feel uncomfortable. Rooms are unbelievably small. No wardrobe, bedside cabinets, kettle or anything else to make your stay pleasant. The wet room is small and the shower curtain not fit for purpose so everywhere gets wet. Price is too expensive for what you get in return. The only good thing is location if you want easy access into central London.

Looks exactly like the pictures. Clean and quite. There are no hairdryers in the room but reception can provide one if needed. Super close to the train station and major shopping area. Plenty of food options close by. Staff friendly and helpful.

Cheap for London and close to the train station. You get exactly what you expect though for the price. Smells like wet feet, paper thin walls (bring ear plugs) and absolutely no frills- only furniture supplied is a bed, no bed side tables. TV remote control was filthy. But free unlimited wifi and the staff were lovely. If you stay here and like craft beer I highly recommend a visit to the Art and Craft pub round the corner- great beer and great people watching spot.

Never again. I have stayed here many times and always been happy with the service and room. It's always been a case of getting what you pay for, but not this time. There seems to have been a change of management since my last visit and this team have a lot to learn about customer service. I will not be returning.

It’s situated in a very ran down part of London, be weary that it’s not a safe place and very dodgy nearby. The hotel itself is not worth 80euro for a last minute booking that’s overpriced. The shower was bad , reminded me of a hospital shower for disabled / elderly people. The smell was putrid upon arrival. As for the bed it was very comfortable. The floor seemed dirty and like it needed a hoover / vacuum. I was on the 5ft floor and the lift kept going out of service so I had to walk flights of stairs several times. The hotel is bad, and shouldn’t be charging extortionate rates for what you actually get. There was no hairdryer in the room neither. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Great cheap basic hotel. Bed was comfy, room was clean and shower was good. Exceptional customer service from Arfan. He is a credit to the company. Only downside, no mirror near the sockets to use hairdryer.

The hotel nearby the train station, the staff a great. I love the service, we can even kept our luggage for few days before we flew to Italy. Eventhough the room a small but for couples no worries not suitable for family I guess.

You get what you pay for and if you just need somewhere to crash, there's no harm here. Slight buzzing sound (guessing from the air con or bathroom) and in some rooms the window can be a struggle to close. The biggest negative, and it may seem small, is that the curtains are almost impossible to draw in any room I've stayed in!

Photo ID is a must for all guest, not ideal for a day stay as this hotel is extremely basic. They do not offer a kettle nor a storage area for your luggage or clothing, no side table, no shower or bath just a wet room. The bed is a small double not ideal for two medium size person or a over 6ft person. Refunds take up to 3-7 days if you arent happy with the room, staffs are friendly and helpful.

As expected .For a one night stay it was fine. Staff on check in welcome was good. I work in 4 star hotels and 5 star hotels. I paid £70 for a twin room which was clean and basic. If you wish for luggage racks, tea and coffee tray and a room with lots space then don't stay here.

Pros: Location is continent from public transport perspective Cons: Bedbugs in the room : We found after into a few days of our stay and all that the management did was to compensate us for that one single day. Homeless people in hotel : I saw some people who were begging in front of Croydon train station also staying in the hotel (or coming to visit their friends staying there). Made me a little uneasy. Room size is really small: You cannot even move around your language in room and are forced to leave in right outside bathroom. Cannot even open both the main door and bathroom door at the same time. There is only bed in the room and nothing else. So only place to put you phone/glasses/hat etc is either on bed or floor. Photo shows how a standard check-in luggage cannot be moved to other side of room. Think a double bed with about a foot and half space on either side and less towards foot, that is the total room size. I guess you get what you pay for.

This is the perfect deal to stay in London in low rate, but still with good quality and location ! Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and you’re just 2 minutes walking from the East Croydon station ! Akash is a very nice and helpful person at the reception !

I stay at this hotel for work and it is very clean and extremely helpful, friendly staff Max. The location is great as it is right Near East. Croydon railway station - 2minute walk . I would recommend this hotel compared to others . Real value for money .

Very basic, perfect for contractors power, wifi, bathroom, and bed. What more do you need? Old building, well ventilated and clean, though a little scruffy. The rooms literally only have a shower, loo, bed, and TV. No desk, no cupboards etc... so don't pick this if you need to do more than a small bit of work from the room.

This is a truly awful establishment. Only stay here if you are absolutely desperate. My original hotel cancelled my booking due to "refurbishment" and this was the only available option. The room was a bed a bin and television with a broken speaker. That was it. The "bathroom" was akin to a youth hostel facility. Thankfully there's a Sainsbury's over the road as all they offer is a coffee machine in the reception area. The station is close which is handy for a quick getaway. Please don't ever stay here. Grim doesn't begin to describe it.

It was OK for £50 I guess near the middle of Croydon. Bed was comfortable and the WiFi worked. Strange choice to not have a bed side table tho. No cups or any of the sort on hand . It's a small rooms with a TV and shower for and for that it works. Also no parking

You get what you pay for. It's very basic, and it's no premier Inn. However, you get a comfortable night's sleep. The room was clean to a very good standard, no complaints there. Good WiFi signal and a good size TV. Took time for the heating to warm up that wasn't the best, no tea/coffee facilities available in the room, but there is a hot drink machine at reception at £2 [per drink]. 25p for hot water. Snacks and cold drinks machine also at reception. There are no bedside tables to put your drinks or to put anything for that matter. There is a metal coat hanger on the wall, which is very sturdy, that held my coat, 3 hats, scarf and my rucksack. I was impressed with that, simple but effective, as there are no wardrobes nor dressing table. The bathroom is more like a wet room. It does have a shower curtain. It's quite small and has enough shelving to put basic items. Make sure you bring flip flops or sliders for the shower. It's not the most powerful shower but does the job. Every staff member I encountered on my weekend stay was very helpful and polite , and had a smile. Good customer service. I would definitely describe the hotel as cheap and cheerful. There is a sainsbury a minute walk from the hotel along with the train station. Buses and Trams all in close proximity, which is an added bonus. Thank you, easy hotel. You certainly made things easy x

Made a mistake of booking here for 2 nights. The room is tiny and claustrophobic, as if I'd been incarcerated for a very serious crime. They're lucky that the windows don't open properly, otherwise you might see disappointed guests taking a midnight dive. No bedside tables. Where do I put my glasses and phone when I go to sleep? On the floor? I'd rather not. Not to mention the filthy stairwell, like something out of a zombie apocalypse film, and the insects crawling around the room. We left after half an hour and found another hotel. On the upside the air conditioning unit worked well, and the staff seemed relatively pleasant.

Nice hotel. Modern enough. Good service. Reasonable cost. Cant complain. Its like the balance between cheap bad places calling themselves hotels and expensive high end hotels.

I've been in this hotel for 4 days and it wasn't bad at all. Of course it's not a 5-star hotel, but for a 2-star hotel is very clean, warm, quiet and right in the centre of Croydon. it doesn't feel like a 2-star hotel.

  • 3/5 Mona L. 6 months ago on Google
Good hotel for the price so don't expect too much. Very small rooms, small beds and no bes side tables or shelves to buy bags or anything but the bathroom is an ok size and overall it's comfortable for one night.

  • 4/5 duli 7 months ago on Google
The rooms are indeed small, and they could have fitted a small table somewhere in there. Shower water sometimes switched from warm to hot on a warm setting. Staff was friendly and happy to help with anything.

  • 2/5 Imraan A. 6 months ago on Google
Very basic hotel, small rooms and literally just a bed and bathroom. No bedside table to put stuff on. We resorted to putting all our stuff on the floor. Bathroom and toilet was not very clean, with stains in the sink and toilet bowl. No restaurant on site, and no breakfast served, only a small vending machine for tea and coffee in the lobby.

  • 2/5 Inside O. 6 months ago on Google
Ideal location for East Croydon railway which gets you into central London in 16 minutes. However, don't expect a hotel room, it's more similar to a hostel. You get a bed, so just expect that and nothing else, and you wont be disappointed! I wouldn't pay more than £40 for the night

  • 2/5 H C. 6 months ago on Google
The reception are great however the overall experience is more catered for young people & students. Sadly, I don’t think the target audience would be traveling professionals - there were a lot of movement into the night in the early hours (letting doors slam), strong smell of weed and loud music traveling through the corridor. The hotel is overpriced for what it is and sadly considering with the above, it would be 2 stars max.

  • 3/5 Ah L. 9 months ago on Google
The hotel is good, but unfortunately a bit too small. Wish they had built it one foot wider, giving some walking space to the guest. Lady assistant is helpful at the reception, but the guy isnt much good when it comes to room temperature control. Location is excellent. But you may want to look at another hotel if there are two of you staying overnight there.

It is most definitely a budget hotel... Clean so can't fault that but that's as good as it gets. Beds are cheap and uncomfortable, no extra pillows, keycards don't seem to want to work which is just grand when in a 7 storey building and the lifts don't work is not fun

  • 1/5 Anna A. 2 years ago on Google
Worst hotel I’ve ever made a booking with. They say you can cancel for free but 1 month later I still haven’t received my refund. Tried calling them and they never pick up. They don’t even respond to emails. Read other reviews and ask yourself if you’re that desperate to stay at this hotel.

  • 1/5 Youtube G. 2 years ago on Google
Hi, I understand this a budget hotel but it was a disaster, the state of the building by the windows is horrible, they need replacing or refurbing. The lift carpet is absolutely gross. I went to my room 614, there is wallpaper peeling, there was hair in the bathroom the day I checked in, the shower curtain has the wrong fittings so is useless, water goes everywhere, the water doesn’t get hot enough, no table, desk to put a piece of paper or anything, nowhere to really hang your clothes apart from 2 hooks, the bathroom hook is not even straight to hold a towel up, the pillows are so think they are pretty useless, I asked for more but they didn’t have any, the mattress is the worst hotel bed I’ve ever slept on, it broken and had its day, no remote for the tv so how was I meant to use it? Was a really terrible experience that I checked out a day earlier as it was just a horrible disgusting environment, this was my 1st and last time I would ever book and EasyHotel, doesn’t look fresh and clean in the pictures.

Lovely staff, the only good thing about this place, room needs a good deep cleaning and the dor of the corredor all night slapping, every time than someone come in or out wake me up,

  • 3/5 Rhoda W. 2 years ago on Google
Lift didn't work when I stayed had to climb the stairs up to the 6th floor. Otherwise, it is low cost and ideal location for trains into London, Gatwick and Brighton.

  • 2/5 Maria Fernanda C. 2 years ago on Google
While the staff where as helful as they could be, the hotel needs a lot of care. While it's a medium to low budget hotel, the quality of our stay was way below the cost. Our sheets had a large brownish stain when we arrived and it wasn't the cleanliest of rooms. One of the lifts worked for the first day and the rest of the days, we had to climb the stairs. And also, there was an issue with the boiler, so no hot water for one morning. As I said before, the staff were as helpful as they could be, changing our room after we mentioned about the stain, offering to help with luggage and offering a discount when requested, but if you are hoping for a relaxing stay with no inconveniences, I think there is plenty other low budget stays to try.

  • 4/5 Fiona T. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, clean, no frills hotel. Staff were super helpful. It's noisy because of the proximity to the station and tram hub but that's a small price to pay for having access to great public transport.

  • 3/5 Tim S. 1 year ago on Google
The twin room was fairly small, there was barely any room to keep my suitcase which was made harder by the lack of a cupboard and only one clothing hanger fixed to the wall. There were two wall outlets for charging, but no table to leave things on. There was a wide-screen TV, but the remote was missing. The bathroom was one room with a broken curtain separating the toilet and shower (there wasn't even a basin, just a slightly concave floor leading to the drain). The room did have Aircon, which was a godsend considering the heatwave. It was the cheapest hotel in Croydon, even during a weekend where all hotels jacked up their prices because of some concert in London, and a five minute walk from East Croydon Railway Station, so it was suitable for the single night I was there, just expect the barest minimum hotel standards.

  • 5/5 Mohamed A. 1 year ago on Google
The location is great for those who want to be in central London by train in less than 20 minutes as the hotel is 3 minutes walk from East Croydon station that has direct trains to London Bridge and London Victoria stations. The rooms are small but good for a night sleep with good size toilets. The value of money is the best compared to similar hotels in the area with one advantage that it accepts checking in till 12 am compared to other hotels that accept till 10 pm. The amenities are basic yet you can order iron machine and hair dryers. There's a good coffee machine downstairs that works 24/7. The receptionist is helpful and professional.

  • 2/5 Sara L. 1 year ago on Google
Good things of this hotel are: the position in front of east Croydon station. And the fact that you can check in at any time. So for one night stay it was bearable. Everything else is a down side. Room was small,no space to even lay a jacket. It was also quite dirty. There was a tv but no remote to turn it on. The toilet was so smelly it was difficult to use it.

  • 4/5 Andre B. 1 year ago on Google
It's the place to go to for a good night's rest, a hot shower, clean environment and an elevator ride. That's basically what you get for it's cheap price. I would Definitely recommend if you want a hotel on a small budget.

  • 4/5 Karleen C. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is very basic and I had no need of service. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Not a place to spend your two week vacation, but served my purpose well. A place to rest or stop over in transit.

  • 1/5 Mehboob r. 1 year ago on Google
The pictures they show are way different then actual hotel the worse place I’ve been to. The tv didn’t even work the whole time I was there the hot water works but it’s like 20 seconds of hot water and 20 seconds of cold so you will need a bucket if you want to take a hot shower. Worse experience ever.

  • 5/5 Billy A. 2 years ago on Google
Check in staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was exceptionally clean, fab climate control and lovely big TV. Literally minutes away from east Croydon and all its amenities. This is my second stay at this hotel and it seems It’s had a re-vamp. For the price you pay it really is worth it.

Room extra small, not even a bedside table… had to charge my phone on the floor… bed is not the best, very very noisy and feeling is going to break down if you move much. The smell in the bathroom was disgusting, sink to small and ven to was your hands and water from shower was cold/hot. We had a choice of floor which was nice. I saw the cleaners even leaving clean sheets/towels on the floor and literally next to dirty stuff… I guess it does the job to sleep and not much more than that. Close to station, shops, restaurants… no parking, but we were able to rent a private space nearby .

  • 1/5 Frances L. 10 months ago on Google
Disgusting! I was charged £125 for a 1 night stay. Firstly it was literally a bed in a room not much bigger, that you had to shuffle around to get to the window. I darent touch any light switches or plug sockets as there was visible smearing of dirt around them all. The bathroom smelt overwhelmingly of mould, I felt too uncomfortable to use the shower. Walls felt dirty, the longer you looked at the bedding the more hairs and dirt you could see. It was like sleeping in prison for the night. I feel very taken advantage of as I needed somewhere to stay but felt no where near safe at this location and was repulsed by the conditions. I have stayed in an easy hotel before which was a new refurbishment and it was great. Please note: this is in an old building that has barely been renovated with secondary glazed windows and shabby furniture and fittings. Awful awful

Felt completely robbed by these guys. During the week before my stay, they put up the exact same room that I was staying in for £30 cheaper so I cancelled my booking, before the date that the confirmation email told me to, and rebooked. I had to email them through their site to cancel my original booking as opposed to being able to cancel through their site. They still hadn't replied to my email by the time I arrived at the hotel, so I let the guy at reception know that my cancellation hadn't been processed and if he wanted to organise for the room to be freed up so someone else can take it... He had said that people were calling nonstop looking for a room but they were fully booked out. The room was available again on the website before I got to the lift, and had already sold in the 15min it took me to settle in. I made sure to sign for the booking check in form at the reduced rate when I checked in. Some one very smart dealing with refunds, ignored the booking request number that I specified in my email and decided to refund the cheaper of the two bookings. Their service over email is useless. After their initial response I had to email them 3 times over 2 weeks only for them to say that I had chosen non-refundable rates, even though the email thread clearly states to cancel by the date of check in, so basically tough luck and be happy they did me the favour. Going to look into a regulatory complaint next, then most likely a chargeback on my credit card. Room was very clean, and, as expected by previous reviews, pretty tiny (for the cost of the room).
