Staff is always great / helpful... A few changes to note. Tea is no longer free with your meal. $1.50 so reasonable. The soda machine is $3. Touch screen to place your order. Be careful, there is a 3 piece wings and a 5 piece wings meal. You can refill your own drinks. They have french fries, spicy ketchup and spicy ranch. They have also added chicken tenders. Now back to your regularly scheduled review. I had a perfect chicken wing today... One of the few places I can get spicy food. Wings holy with mac and beans is my go-to. If you want it super spicy, ask for unholy, That's where the real spice is. There are tables set up inside and, when it is warm, tables set up outside. Every Tuesday the entire family comes so they can get their gluten-free chicken. I also really like the environment. The people seem to get along really well together and are kind to their customers. They have high chairs if you need them and they also just got these cute caution signs that look like bananas. They really compliment their banana pudding. The mac and cheese has changed yet again, very much for the better. I really enjoyed my mac and cheese, as well as my beans. They even have a Mac and cheese with nuggets dish. If you want a vegan option they have Nuggs, which is a plant-based alternative to chicken. I've never tried a nugg. They have a Coke machine now so you can have Coke products or sweet tea. The sweet tea is half the price of the coke.

I just don’t get the hype. Thought we’d give it another chance since it’d been awhile & there’s a lunch combo promo. Chicken was dry and outside was tough. I got Kids because I’m not one for heat, I thought there’d still be some seasoning in the coating but it was plain. The waffle fries are okay. The sweet tea was the best part of the meal, it’s not too sweet. Ordered online, was ready when I walked in for pickup and the lady working the front was very friendly & fast.

Hot Chicken Takeover has gone mainstream. The food has the same great taste but the prices have gotten a bit out of hand as everything is priced a la carte. 4 wings with 2 sides set me back $18 😳 The Drums are huge so I could have lived with two. Be careful with the heat levels, I got Hot and it was everything they advertised it to be haha. I should have gotten the new french fries instead of the baked beans that weren’t my favorite. Gone are the days of free ranch and sweet tea. The customer service remains excellent as always. Crispy Coop > HCT. 3.5/5 for me.

Food was borderline ok taste wise. I’m not a spicehead (I know the name of the place so don’t come for me, lol). Decent portions. It was all just so mediocre and underwhelming. Ordered boneless breast with cold level seasoning, lil chick combo (tender and coleslaw) with light warm seasoning, and sides of baked beans and mac n cheese. I received NO sauce or utensils that I ordered. I personally did not like the sides with the exception of the coleslaw (and that’s saying something considering I’m a creamy slaw gal). Left me with an overall feeling of “meh”. Maybe the chicken would’ve been kicked up a notch if I had gotten my sides of house ranch.

Great lunch special! As usual the food was hot and delicious and the service was impeccable. Mr. Craig treated us like family.

This was the best chicken I've had in a fast food restaurant. The HOT level sauce on the chicken was on point. I had the big tender sandwich and big they were. The tenders were very juicy, the pickled onions were delicious and the waffle fries were finger licking good.

I tried the fries for the first time and I was disappointed. I don't know if I got a bad batch but they were soggy. Also the fact that you can't get as much ranch as you want is sad. The free ranch and tea was such a fun perk of the restaurant. I will be back to visit because I love the spice but not as frequently as I used to. *edit: I ended up getting a refund for the fries so props to the customer service. I’ve since visited again and one problem is the food quality has gone down hill. It might be from new employees after new owners took over. I like spice so I usually get holy or extra holy and the chicken is always swimming in oil and the skin is fried too hard. I think they try to make it more spicy by adding more oil but at some point too much oil is nasty. The fries were very good this time though, keep that up. Overall 3.75/5 stars.

I've been enjoying HCT for a couple years now. Their updated (slightly expanded) menu made something already amazing even better. The food is phenomenal, and the service is exceptional. What makes eating at HCT more enjoyable is knowing that you're supporting second chance employees get back on their feet. I absolutely love HCT.
