This is best Japanese restaurant in south west london. As myself Japanese, I highly recommend here as authentic Japanese restaurant. Sushi chef is real one. All dishes nice but I particularly like Tekka Maki 鉄火巻 tuna roll. They use lots of tuna than rice. I personally called Over flow tuna roll. Delicious. Staff also kind and well trained. They have menu with some picture and easy to order too. Children friendly.

The most delicious Japanese restaurant in all London! We had 2 salads, miso soup and a sushi box. The quality of the food is the same as you would have in Japan. The taste, flavours and smoothness is unbelievable. I highly recommend any food lovers to come and try this amazing find in the heart of Putney. I will be back for more.

Incredible menu and quality of fish. A truly authentic experience where quality meets quantity. Having been around the world and ate a lot of sushi in my life, I can definitely recommend this place. The food is 10/10. Service 10/10. Pictures are attached.

Found this place randomly and spontaneously decided to book and come for a quick dinner. We sat at the bar which was cool and atmospheric. Food was all good and came quickly which was a place. Nice artistic interior and its awesome watching the chefs work in front of you at the bar.

5/5. The best Japanese restaurant in SW London IMO. You can always tell by the ginger and wasabi with Japanese restaurants. Everything is super fresh, the service is rapid and super friendly. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese in southwest London then this is the place to go to.

The food was to die for they have amazing little lunch menu the staff are really friendly I highly recommend poping by make sure you have a reservation

This place was a lovely coincidence. We were around the area and hungry for some good authentic Japanese food and we were pleasantly surprised. Quality is excellent and portions are hefty so don’t worry about being left hungry. The sashimi plate was freshly prepared by the chef and the unagi don was brilliant. Everything about the food and ambience brought me right back to Tokyo. I will be coming back again with friends.

Small Japanese restaurant in the centre of Putney. The food is really excellent, fresh and genuine; I also enjoyed the sake sampler. Service was cordial and efficient. The dining room is essential though welcoming, with a direct view on the cooking area. Having few tables and limited opening hours, it is important to reserve in advance. The bill for the three of us was £108. A neighbourhood place to keep in mind for the future.

We are local and have been wanting to try this place for ages - we finally made it for a birthday celebration and it didn’t disappoint. Quality and taste of the food is excellent, we had a selection of sushi plus some house kimchi which was so fresh. £120 for 3 people including tip and a drink each. There are also affordable sushi sets/platters for sharing. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. They even brought a thoughtful dessert (green tea ice cream) with a candle for the birthday girl.

This is a little gem we used to go to about 5 years ago. Went for dinner after a long time finally on Saturday night and sat on the bar. Was a wonderful experience to see the passion and the hard work of the sushi chef in front of us as well as a very hard working and charming team. The food was the best Japanese food that we had in London. Sushi was delicious and fresh, everything was beautifully presented and flavours were authentic and spot on. ありがとうございます！

Authentic Japanese cuisine ! Definitely it is the best one in Putney

We lived in Putney for several years and heard a few positive feedbacks from friends about Tomoe; however, did not have much opportunity until last month. I had a chance to pop in for lunch; the restaurant was full; however, asked whether I could sit at the bar on the right-hand side next to the entrance; the staff are always very accommodating (went back again for exactly the same dishes – Prawn Tempura Bento. It was as nice as the first experience, the staff are very accommodating again because I was a bit late for their lunch service. The quality of the foods stands out and the ambience does make me wonder whether it would be the same in Japan (one of the countries that I wish to visit). Therefore, if anyone lives near here, I would like to encourage all to try Tomoe. I enjoy mine a lot and will go back for more soon. Just noticed, their opening hours are quite limited. Check before you make a visit. Thanks, Tomoe, for making a simple lunch very enjoyable.

This is a little gem of a place - my go to Japanese restaurant when I was living in the area. The interior is nothing to brag about but the food is genuinely wonderful and not expensive when compared to other restaurants for the same quality. Definitely recommend.

Huge menu selection, including loads of options for vegetarians. Really lovely staff and quick service. The food was amazing, would really recommend it!

Excellent, incredibly good quality fish. Great value, good portion sizes. Service was very friendly, booking online would be a bonus, but I appreciate the charm of having no online presence.
