What's cool about the spot - When you overlook the Thames and have a drink with your friends and family, what else do you need for a good time in London. We totally loved this place. With a good variety of drinks and food, this pub is a good choice. Locality is a plus with a great view of St Paul's if you walk down a few mins. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Recommended. Will visit again. If you found my review useful, please do give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more useful tips around the world.

The Founder's Arms is a fantastic place to take a break from a stroll or after a visit to the Tate museum. They have a fantastic selection of local brews along with some international options. What I love about this place is that there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Just head up to the bar, grab your drink and find a seat. There's also a food menu that you can order from the QR code at your table. Pro-tip: Try the slightly toasted bread with wild garlic butter. Delicious!

Been here a few times. Really good location. Very nice food. Good range of drinks. Right next to the Thames. Close to the Tate Modern, the Globe, and St Paul's.

A nice location, overlooking the Thames, very busy tourist trap in the summer. Two Young's beers are available.

We popped in on the spur of the moment and managed to get a seat outside overlooking the river Thames. The main courses are good. The starter snd desserts are okay, they need improvement. If you order mains and drinks you will enjoy. Great views. Busy pub. Our server was nice. You order via your phone.

This is a nice little tavern with modern comforts, large pain windows good heating and aircon, sitting nestled by the Thames. It is well decorated, airy and in a great location The pub has a good range of well known wines, beers and spirits The Brooklyn ipa and Brooklyn lager are both nice choices. There are cheaper pubs but they don’t have the riverside location. The pub is a stones throw from the south bank entrance of Blackfriars, so you can always take a train home

Always a great place to visit for a drink or meal. Wonderful location which makes it generally very busy and difficult to find a seat. Patience and a watchful eye for seats about to become vacant pays dividends. London prices naturally but the view across the Thames makes it worth while what ever time of day it is. The atmosphere us friendly and easy going. With the train station next door it's also useful for those wanting to travel south (like us) after a day out.

Loved this place! Had the best chicken and ham pie I’ve ever tasted. My husband had fish and it was so big it hung over each end of the plate. Friendly staff and good service and we ate on the outside terrace overlooking the Thames and St Paul’s Cathedral. Highly recommended for the amazing food

This was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. The way they breaded the fish was incredible. It didn’t even taste fried. After eating it you didn’t feel sick like you do with most fish and chips. You felt light and reenergized, ready for the city. The outdoor dining was also fantastic. The views of the Thames and the city are wonderfully splendid. There were lots of swans hanging out on the beach nearby too. Quite a place to give a try if you are looking for good dining. A wee bit pricey, but given the location it is to be expected.

Great views of the river. Had a meal here as part of a large party of approx 30. We had booked in advance and were well looked after. Staff were excellent, and all meals were ready within a few minutes of each other. I had the fish and chips and it was a generous portion cooked really well.

Can you name a pub in London with a better view? On the other side of the river, by the Tate modern, an incredible location to grab a cold beer with your friends. Lots of space(inside and outside) to relax and enjoy. The view of St Paul is just amazing.

A friendly and nice pub in a wonderful location.. If you will sit outside you can easily lost your mind while you observe St Paul's cathedral.. Exactly near by, Tate modern with beautiful pieces of art and after all that, just have a walk next to Thames River. ?

Easy table service via app. If you're male with a slight disability then you may well find the toilet a struggle up steep stairs. Use Radar key for accessible facilities next to the Ladies. Peanuts overpriced. Handy for the beach when the tide is out.

Giving 5 stars to the excellent, above and beyond service by Vladmir, the bartender. Knows his products very well and the correct glassware. He made us feel so welcome and gave a personal touch when serving us. Had to mention this to the manager also as he was truly amazing. Pub also is very nice that sits on the bank of the Thames. 100% recommended! :)

Nice place to have a drink, located near the London Bridge Underground, and with a front view of the Thamesis, the staff is friendly, the pints have a standard price. They offer a large variety of beers, like Peroni, Estrella and Guinness. Pet friendly. The have a menu with the standard burgers.

Came here for a late lunch as it is one of the only pubs on the river in the spring sun. It has a wonderful location with outside seating in the sun and next to the river. Mid afternoon and virtually all the tables were taken. It was surprisingly easy to get both a drink and order our food, despite the numbers of customers, because of the numbers of service staff. They had a good selection of Youngs beers and food choice on their menu. We chose to have a seafood selection which wasn’t cheap but was for 2 and at £27 was cheaper per person than nearly all the other main dishes. The total cost was about £40 for 4 beers and 1 dish which is expectedly expensive, but you do pay for the position and service. Fully recommend

Beautiful place with a great view. The hummus was really good and the cauli bites lacked salt but very good. We got the plaice which was well seasoned and sauced. The plant burger and carrot soup were good veggie options too. Would recommend for a catch up meal with friends and family.

Lovely place to have a beer and stop by to have some local food. Environment is great and music is at the right level. I went to change diaper my baby and I didn't even have to ask for the key, they handed it out as if they read my mind. The staff, Suzanne and Lee, are great and their attention to detail is superb. Taste a London bite and at a reasonable price.

Nice clean and tidy. Friendly staff but no table service. We were sitting outside having a fantastic view over the river Thames in the evening. I didn't eat anything there so I only can comment on the lovely cocktails me and my friend had that night. Really tasty and for London a really good price for a cocktail.

Peroni beer in a small bottle 330ml is £5.50 at this otherwise very pleasant watering hole. Best avoided when a pint is under £6.00

Lovely restaurant pub set along a gorgeous view of the river Thames. Quite a nice vibe to it and as a tourist of the city I felt quite welcome. I must admit make sure to order extra fruit with ya drinks as you do get extra value here. With enough drinks one could set up a fruitery outside and make some of the money they spend on London priced drinks. Also the stairs to mens can combine as a mid sesh cardio work out.

This place is absolutely amazing! It’s reasonably priced, offers great quality food, a wide selection of beers, and you get a wonderful view of the river and St’ Paul’s cathedral. It’s even better during the summer when you can just sit by the river and enjoy the sun. Suggestion: try the mushroom burger. Delicious!

Always wanted to pop here. Gorgeous spot on the south bank. Had a nice slow pint on our wanders. Great spot to watch the world go by. Adapted well to Covid but I do they should make it clearer that you can pop into see if a tables free - poor lad (first point of contact) doing take away beers must have the same questions all day about seating and booking. Common occurrence in covid days where's a tad intimidating walking up to place where you don't know the system - something that I assume will get better with time. Little disappointed in the draught selection and overpriced for the drinks they do have. Found the service were mixed in my opinion some nice, smiley and attentive; others more get in and get out. Still want to pop back and try the food with a better crack at the drinks

Big Lady “Maître d” was very rude yesterday Evening Friday 24 of July, not a good idea having people like her working in such important role. Even a Prison Guard job would be a bad idea for her. Is amazing how the experience of having a nice view, desent food and nice drinks is all dissipated by a person like her. Somepeople are simply not very good dealing with people too bad management don’t understand this basic rule. We live near by but the pub we frequent still closed because of Covid19 we try this one for the first time. Never Again there are too many options around with staff that is more professional.

This is a review of my Sunday roast experience. I have been to many Restaurants and Pubs for Sunday roast and to be honest this is the worst one from all of them. It is overall a nice place with nice staff members and good drinks, but it looks like that Sunday roast here is just an afterthought. Why? Well look at the photo I posted. Our table had Roast Beef £19 and Roast Chicken £18. I won’t brag about dry and tasteless chicken as this has become standard and only few restaurants can prepare nice roast chicken. But the beef is supposed to be Striploin, however what I was given looked like leftovers you would only use to prepare gravy, super overcooked and chewy (seriously head chef of this place should google: Sunday Roast striploin). Then the potatoes were undercooked with no taste at all. I’m not gonna even talk about veg because that has nothing to do with roast - looks like frozen veg quickly boiled without any taste. Gravy - uhm was this even gravy? Same color, different texture and different taste. Only good thing on the plate was Yorkshire puddings. I was first thinking that Restaurant has run out of food and they just cut the slack on my order, but I saw other tables having exactly the same plate as I had. I’m giving it 3 stars, as I said good atmosphere and nice staff members with good drinks. Whilst we had to wait 50 minutes for our food, waitress was very nice, kept updating us and gave us free deserts - this can happen anywhere. But seriously if you are after Sunday Roast and are in the area, don’t bother visiting here, look elsewhere e.g. Swan, that’s just 100m from here and have hundred times better roast for the same price.

Lovely modern youngs pub. Modern decorated clean the staff look presentable. Can get very busy. You have to download the app to book a table and to place a order. Was given a table right near the exit so it was quite drafter it was a very cold rainy day, and the heater door was not on. I asked if I could be moved with no luck. We waited quite a while for our food. Two of them came out and we had to wait another almost 15mins for the other two. When my roast came out it was well presented but the food was cold. I was given another one and that was much better.

Stopped in for lunch with the Mrs and kids on our way to family visit to Tate Modern. Social distancing seemed to be working more or less, staff were very helpful although not obviously used to dealing with toddlers, but the kids fish and chips were fantastic (freshly battered cod pieces) and no food was wasted, and we enjoyed our grown-up portions too. Other clientele were suitably trendy and mostly unencumbered by squirts, would recommend for most occasions if you're passing by or planning a brunch etc.

  • 2/5 Pauline O. 3 years ago on Google
We had a very warm welcome from a man. And it went downhill from there. We couldn’t use the app to order food and drinks so we ordered with a waitress. Obviously with the new tier rules, we didn’t understand everything about ordering food to be allowed drinks and she was highly rude and impatient with us. Bearing in mind that English isn’t our first language... She made a mistake with our bill and we happened to pay a lot more but a kind barman fixed it and we got our money back. So, all good here. We had chips and croquettes, it was average and a bit pricey but you pay for the location so not a surprise here.

Apart from the location, right on the river and right next door to the Tate Modern, this is an unremarkable pub. Big, light, modern and very tidy but nothing special. It does, however, get full marks for Covid security; they are definitely on the ball.

I know that you are having to make sure that customers adhere to very strict government guidelines, but the inflexibility, ludicrous obsession with rules and the aggressive tone of your staff made this about the most unpleasant experience I have ever had in a pub. Won't be coming back in a hurry. You are also using the guidelines to make as much money as possible on the food.

We had booked a table online specially requesting for a ‘riverside table, on google special requests but we still did not get any table outside. On top of that receptionists were blatantly lying about booking preferences. First visit to the restaurant and was a complete let down in terms of customer service. There were clearly tables empty outside but still we were not given one. One of the worst experiences in London so far. Not recommended at all.

Think the outdoor tables were heated too so that's always a winner when the weather's cold, wouldn't want to miss that view Think there's disabled access aswell, and the drinks are standard price for London. Would 10/10 recommend.

Very nice Riverside pub with great food. The desert especially was great. Definitely not an everyday trip though because the (admittedly wide) selection of drinks was generally very expensive.

Nice place to have a drink with friends. They have really good triple cooked chips and Halloumi fries. If you are lucky, you can get a good river view table.

Fantastic pub. Been here multiple times now and never had a problem the serve is exceptional and the staff are really friendly. The whole place is very well kept and all tidy. The toilets are in great condition and they have a huge variety on drinks and food. We'll worth a visit.

Founders Arms is in a great location with superb views of the Thames, plenty of tables by there large windows or even outside. I only gave a 3 star as the decor inside and ambience was very basic and reminded me of school dinner hall, shame as it could be so much better.

Beautiful spot to soak up the sun with a cocktail and have the sound of the Thames shore- felt like I was abroad when I closed my eyes.. Love London completely, so many quirks. X

It's on the Thames, it's a touristy boozer and price reflects this. Great place for a bite to eat. Excellent pub if you just wanna sit and watch the world go by on the river.

Great food and drinks at a great location! Excellent, tasty roasts and good selection of beers and ales. You can walk in, no bookings, order via the app and all these by river Thames. Perfect for a beautiful day in central London.

The view from the table looking towards St Paul's was great. The food delicious but expensive. I enjoyed the wine

Very busy but still found a table outside. Good selection of beers on tap and a cracking view to go with it. Could've been a bit more on top of clearing tables but it was just after the lunch rush.

We visit this bar every time we're in London. Great position, bustling and friendly staff. Not eat here yet but will try to in the future. Fantastic place to sit and have a drink whilst taking in the views.

Went on a work dinner and despite the absolute mob of customers they did a great job of service. Food was very good too. Perfect spot along the river for a couple drinks on a nice evening.

Nice vibe and great views. Beware: We had an outdoor terrace booking and they couldn’d guarantee chairs for the number of people in the booking, so we had to hunt them from other tables. The food is all right (though a bit pricey) and the portions are big.

The arms has an awkward seating situation without much clear direction but once seating and waiting for service the food was good. We had the 'share seafood platter', a burger, chicken salad, and a meat pie. All were good and the menu was reasonably price the facility was not the cleanest and I don't believe we are very picky either. Sticky tables and rough rest rooms.

Nice big pub that overlooks the water. Decent Sunday roast and dessert except Sunday roast didn’t come out very hot. Came out almost room temperature. Other than that, good pub to hang out.

Lovely restaurant & staff & wow what a view. Our work Christmas party. The service was slow, some food was cold, different portion sizes on the same meal and meals arriving at different times, so some guest waiting for there meal when other have finished.. taking into consideration that the restaurant was fully booked with numerous christmas/work parties, the food was nice and it was a pleasant evening.

Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating spaces. There is heating system in the outdoor but was not helpful in overall. Inside had a bad smell probably because of the toilet or food. Little bit overpriced. Toilet was not clear and smelly.

Always a winner. It's so busy sometimes and easy to see why. The food is cooked to order and is fantastic. My wife and I had the sharing platter of fried seafood with a seafood dip and a mayonnaise dip with chips . The batter was superb and the atmosphere electric with plenty going on. The service was friendly and efficient and of course the views are second to none.
