Fairly average affair, seemingly very busy but confused as to what reason. The food is below average and overly expensive, painfully bland just above a school dinner. No flavour poor presentation, this place is in need of a major rework. Cocktails are painfully over iced. Staff seemed to be overworked, some being lovely but the majority serving our large table of 10 was very rude. The place is somewhat beautiful but that is the only positive. I would not recommend this place at all, save your money and go somewhere else.

I had a lovely lunch here with a friend. The staff were bustling but attentive. If you prefer plant-based/vegetarian or vegan, just ask for their separate menu. There are some great options. The cocktails and homemade juice creations were fabulous.

The afternoon tea here is quite nice but nothing remarkable. I liked the sandwiches, the ham was especially nice. The sweets were tasty, but too sweet. None of us anywhere near finished them. They didn't have 2 of the teas when we went (and didnt inform us of this before ordering), which seemed like an issue to me with not a massive selection. The decor was quite nice and the seating was very comfortable

Super amiable and fun bartenders, but it's... Browns. So, you sort of know it's typical chain restaurant middle-of-the road ambience and drinks. The bar space is actually quite classy, but hugely let down by the fact there are no bussers! Every free table was covered in dirty dishes. Not once did we see anybody come and clear any away. As it is bar service PAYG, there should be someone taking care of bussing. Customers aren't going to bring dirties up to the bar. We watched other customers have to clean tables they needed to sit at. The cocktails weren't bad, surprisingly for the type of venue. Quite good and not sweet! My banana daquiri was actually pretty well made and properly balanced with lots of actual banana flavour in the rum (not sickly sweet artificial banana syrup). A shock in the UK. Still quite low ABV tasting, and small amount of drink but tasty. We only stayed for a single drink. That's basically what this bar is good for.

We had a good experience here. Food was decent, nothing spectacular at least price point wasn’t mad. Service was standard. There was a live singer playing the piano. The interior decor feels a bit kooky with strange steps and corners but fun!would come back.

Really impressed with our visit to Browns for breakfast. The building used to be a court and has been sympathetically restored as a stylish restaurant. Plenty of choice on the menu including cooked breakfast, pancakes and omelettes, with options for vegans and vegetarians. Prices reasonable for quality and location, £12.50 for a vegetarian cooked breakfast. My mushroom and baby spinach omelette was delicious. Service excellent.

The website allowed me to book afternoon tea at 1 pm but when we showed up they told us they only served afternoon tea after 3pm. That was a bit weird but we stayed and had the vegetarian Nut Sunday Roast - as meats were not halal. But food was great and so was service. No complaints except wish they would make it clear on website when reserving that afternoon tea is only open certain times.

We invited some friends from the US to meet us here. It's a nice location, in the heart of the west end, and a nice place to walk into. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and taken to our guests, who'd arrived shortly before us, before being shown to our table. The food was lovely, but the crumble, that two of us chose from the prix fixé lunch menu when we ordered our starters and mains, wasn't available by the time we were ready for pudding 😞 Oddly, the waiting staff leaned over us to pass glasses, plates of food and cutlery to our guests, rather than walking around the table!

Was very disappointed with the food and staff services. Couldn't order my first choice on the menu because they ran out of fish, so I ordered chicken schnitzel with salad, and my fried had a festive burger. The schnitzel was extremely dry and dehydrated that I couldn't even cut it. So I returned the plate and asked to redo it. By the time a second attempt arrived, with chips instead of salad, my friend had finished her meal, and I couldn't be bothered to send the plate back for second time to change chips for salad. The chicken was cooked slightly better this time, but it was still bland and dry. The service was very poor too. We needed to remind our order, and were interrupted four times during our meal by the waiter who tried to serve us orders made by table next to us. The only positive point to note was that despite the busy dining area, the atmosphere was relaxed due to well spaced tables. I wouldn't be back to this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Completely packed, bad service, inconsistent food. We came for a Christmas dinner, it was a Friday so expected it to be a little busier than usual but nothing like what we experienced. Tables were rammed up against each other to fit everyone in, service was incredibly slow, despite being told when we sat down that we had to leave in 2 hours (the table had been booked for months). There were 9 of us, mostly ordering similar meals but none came out the same and the portions were tiny for the price you're paying (e.g. a SLICE of a stuffing ball, 1 single pig in blanket). Every other table seemed to get Christmas crackers etc. but we were forgotten. Real disappointment, go for your Christmas dinner somewhere else.

I've visited other branch's of Brown's previously and have also thought it was in line with the price point. However today's experience was amazing! I visited for mother's day and shared the Chateaubriand with my wife; the presentation was great and the flavour was superb. My children also enjoyed their choices and the service was very good. There is no doubt I will be returning to this restaurant

Perfect Monday Night! And we're back. Another fabulous night, great food, great service, lovely staff, looked after as per usual. We've been coming for years at this time of year, and we are never disappointed. Many thanks to the waiting staff and kitchen team, you did a great job! Once again, timed to perfection... See you next year!

A beautiful restaurant if you would like to go with family, date or even alone - this place is so beautiful. Very convenient to book via a phone call or online with instant confirmation, good food, great vibes and is located in the heart of Piccadilly. Worth a visit!

This place was nice and they had a fantastic gluten free menu that was approved by coeliac UK. I felt very comfortable eating here. I had crab cakes here but I could taste bits of the shell in my food which put me off for the rest of my meals. The gluten free pasta I had was only mostly cooked as some of it was still raw. Atmosphere was ok but the wait staff seemed to feel a little frustrated with the kids. Probably not the best place to bring kids as they didn't seem to be ok with them. Our kids were 6-10 years. They have food options for them however they have to order from the adult gluten free menu if they need gluten free food. So no kid friendly options there. The furniture seemed dated, worn out and ripped in some instances and our table was constantly moving because it was unlevel. The table next to us was also wobbly so I didn't bother to ask if we could move. From a distance it looks great but when you actually sit down and notice you can tell. But it was clean. The toilets were also very clean and tidy.

We went Here for a mini group meet up and have to say, from the on set, it was really bad. We had a pre booked table. It wasn't ready, so was directed to the bar upstairs. We went there for a drink, after 1/2 hr, we were directed to a table and packed like sardines, we decided to look at the menus, and were given the wrong ones. So start again. Anyways we chose, and the server ORIANA was great, very bubbly, and great personality. The starters arrived, and I was actually shocked at the portion sizes, and the quality. After a while and quiring where the mains were, we were served with most of them, and totally left without a couple of dishes, again after quiring more than twice, we were given the mains, by which time everyone else had practically eaten. The main course, we counted 3 potatoes, which were not cooked properly, but due to the hunger we thought we needed to eat this. ( The turkey was cold, and in fact, all the dishes were cold, but the funny thing was, the servers came out with these plates with cloths wrapped around there hands and made it sound and look like they were really hot)Now due to the delay our booking at another place where we paid for with a deposit was lost and our deposit money lost. ( We paid for a deposit here as well ) Alex the manager came over and calmed the situation down and as we were in a rush to get out, We collectively decided to get out and pay the discounted bill which we were grateful for to Alex. It really is a shame, as we remember this place from many years ago, it was lovely, food was great, but now if this is what we got I have to say loads of improvement needed. The two people mentioned were a great credit to your organisation, and we weren't the only ones to complain, and poor Alex looked like he was fighting issues all over the place. As you can see from the portion sizes, they are really NOT substantial and any value for money. The quality of the food wasn't nice either, the nut roast, was like eating a short crust pastry only, As mentioned earlier the meats were cold, the potatoes, were not cooked properly. You've taken your position for granted as you're busy due to your location, I would NOT recommend this place and it's really sad to see as there is such a lot of potential here if the main ingredient FOOD is improved on and served the way it should be. Hospitality is what it says on the tin and in my personal opinion you seemed to have forgotten that on the day we visited.

My visit to Browns Covent Garden left me with mixed feelings. Located near the vibrant theatre district in London, I had high expectations for this renowned restaurant. However, the experience fell short of my hopes. I decided to try the Roast Cod & Kale Salsa Verde, but it turned out to be disappointingly average, especially considering the steep price. Although the location of the restaurant is decent, nestled in the heart of London, it didn't provide the outstanding experience I had anticipated. One major drawback was the noticeable tension among the staff, which unfortunately disrupted the ambiance. Their conflicts were audible from the dining area, detracting from the overall dining experience. Moreover, the presence of crying babies further impacted the atmosphere. To my surprise, the restaurant lacked the expected city view, which was unexpected given the high prices. The setting and decor aimed for a high-end feel, but it somehow felt pretentious and unwelcoming, despite my appropriate attire for a fine dining establishment. While Browns Covent Garden may be a popular choice for its proximity to the theatre and offerings like afternoon tea and a variety of starters, my personal experience was underwhelming. Additionally, the service charge added to the bill seemed disproportionate to the level of service received. Browns have the potential to be a delightful dining spot, especially for theatre-goers. However, my visit was marred by a few key aspects that need improvement.

From being greeted by the host & server the staff were super friendly and professional. Food was epic (V-Day menu)! If I was to be super picky (clutching at straws) once we finished our meal, it took a while for the bill to be processed. The toilets were a little messy / dirty. But we did come after the pre theatre rush. But this didn’t mar the whole experience. Will definitely be back!

We had the NYE Special Menu yesterday. The taste was 5/5, and the service was a remarkable 6/5. The reason we gave it a 4-star rating was solely due to the small portions. For the price they charge, we expected larger portions. But all in all, thank you very much for the delicious dinner!

The food itself was very tasty and hot….when it finally arrived. Our breakfast took about 45 mins to arrive after ordering and we waiting about 20 mins to order our food and drinks. Part of a meal was missing and never did turn up but the food we did have was super tasty and the staff were really nice just a bit slow with the service. Not sure if I would return based on wait times, it looked to be issues across the piece as we overheard others complaining about their wait time. Shame really as the food itself was tasty

Was in London on a city break and found this spot on tripadvisor. Service was excellent. Got the surf & turf with sweet potato fries. Great atmosphere, good selection of drinks. Would return.

The food, atmosphere and service was excellent, I'm going to repeat. We went there to have afternoon tea. To our surprise there was live music, what a great performance. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is decorated in an Art Deco style, which I liked a lot. I absolutely recommend giving it a try!

Was in a group of 8 people for a birthday lunch in a bank holiday Sunday. Service was pleasant but a little slow and inconsistent. They forgot one starter and a main and had to rush it out. A few minor annoyances; roast pork was served with horseradish, when we highlighted this apparently they had run out of apple sauce. Also they said they had run out of nearly every beer on tap. The overall atmosphere was nice with pianist singing and playing.

Browns is now more like a gastro pub than how it was before in my opinion. Staff all very friendly, service slightly delayed on drinks, everything else very good(Rajani particularly efficient). Prawn cocktail very good, goats cheese salad a bit small in portion size. Roast turkey for mains very nice. Crumble for dessert was smallish but nicely presented. Very busy venue, but then it was the run up to Christmas. Front of house staff were courteous and efficient. In my opinion hard to judge this venue at Christmas time, - just a bit too busy which slowed the drinks delivery and ambience of our meal. Perhaps the menu needs a bit more work, mainly in terms of portion size for some of the dishes. Overral a worthwhile booking though and handy for theatres and Covent Garden. It's been renovated well and toilets were very cool and spotless which is always a plus.

Went down for brunch and had the best time. There was so much traffic so we called ahead and they held our table. The staff were courteous and very accommodating while the food was just amazing; across a party of 7 we had Omelettes, Vegetarian breakfast, and scrambled eggs with Salmon. I would definitely recommend a visit hence the 5 stars

Don’t go for brunch on a Tuesday!!! They had a delivery so they kept the doors open all through the morning so the entire place was freezing cold. We asked to be moved but they were clearly too busy dealing with their delivery to bother with customers. The breakfast itself was not great either, bacon felt like it was cooked on a warm radiator, the beans were stone cold and the black pudding was as thick as a fifty pence piece. They got an extra star cos the sausages were great, and I love a good sausages. Still won’t make me visit again.

An exceptional address in London! Ledina was our host, she was pleasant, helpful, polite, but this was also the rest of the crew! 4 people came to apologize, because our initial choice could not been executed. We have gotten 10% discount without even asking for! Professionalism and hospitality at its best! And let us speak about the taste: 12 points go to … Browns! We will come again!

Went there for a Christmas event and I won't go again . The service is absolutely shocking . They have far too few staff for too many covers who are either rushed off their feet or not getting paid enough and have given up. Waited ages to get orders , take orders , deliver orders . We was in there 3 hours and most of that was waiting . We were on a all expenses paid event so if they had snappier more attentive staff we could have spent a hell of a lot more . We even had to go and find some staff to say we wanted more drinks which should never happen in this price point kind of restaurant. On the subject of money it was over priced for what was delivered and the portions were far too small for the quality . I'd expect small portions in an upscale Michelin star place but this isn't one so very disappointed. The fries were deluged with massive chunks of parmesan instead of lightly sprinkled to make it melt on the fries and used flavour less truffle oil to cheapen the price point . The Xmas dinner was a mess and let's not go there with the rock hard potatoes. The desserts were passable but the whole dining experience was spoiled by low quality food with no presentation and lack of service . We even brought our concerns to our waiter who then called over the manager who did the we'll take note of your concerns into account but was so flippant and basically shrugged and said sorry . First time , and last time . It looks like I'm not the only one to have concerns . Just apologies which are meaningless unless acted upon .

I went to Brown's for the 1st time yesterday and the service I received was amazing. I got served by an amazing waiter called Jon, who was very friendly and professional, and helped to make it very enjoyable experience. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food so much that I'm looking to go again.

Cocktails were lovely. The man who served us at our table was lovely, polite and efficient. One of our meals was fine, the other however arrived cold and with no fries. They did change it for us but it took another half an hour for it to arrive and it still wasn’t much better. I will say that the manager did not charge for the meal which we are grateful for. We would not return for food but possibly for drinks. First impressions were not great- the young lady on entrance who was in charge of table bookings was very rude. I expect much better customer service from such a well known establishment especially when it’s the first member of staff you speak to at the door. The 5/10 given was purely for the water, the manager and the drinks otherwise it would have been 0/10.

Visited the Covent garden site for my daughter's 16th birthday. Service was good, food was lovely, a few things were unavailable, but didn't detract from a fantastic time, staff were friendly, all sang happy. Our server was Maria and she was brilliant. Would definitely go again.

Sunday lunch was very tasty but service and quality control were lacking. Our meals came quickly which was nice but neither had roast potatoes. We waited a moment in case they were coming in a separate bowl - they weren't - before then flagging a waiter who had some get brought over but without any particular apology. We saw another table have the same issue during our stay. The staff are polite and the experience went generally well, but it did feel a bit like the kitchen was letting the front of house down. For this reason we asked for the service charge to be taken off, which it was without issue. Toilets are down a stone spiral staircase, not sure if they have an accessible toilet. Lots of the tables require traversing steps to be seated at. A lot of good #alcoholfree options on the menu including a lovely lychee soda.

Came here for an event last night, which was rather nice. However, when ordering 3 drinks at the bar. I went over to the member of staff and ordered. However, he proceeded to charge me 12.5% service charge. A service charge for coming over to him and ordering at the bar? A bit too cheeky from the brown hair gentleman who then proceeded to watch me struggle with the overcharged drinks up the stairs.

Great place for lunch - the waitress was so helpful, and suggested cocktails we may enjoy, including a watermelon margarita which wasn't on the menu, but was delicious, to the extent we had two each! Will return when next in the area.

Brilliant night in Brown's. Food was fantastic and our waiter was really helpful and charming. Despite several items being sold out, we all (there were 9 of us) were well looked after and had great food and service.

I ordered a mojito drink which was the worst I ever tried. It tasted like minty water with sugar. You could not drink it. I don't recommend that place to buy drinks

Well, where to start…. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. It was a very busy shift and the staff were very attentive. We did not have to wait long for drinks or food. The food was absolutely amazing it was piping hot and well presented. To finish off a lovely evening, we had the Paul, the manager, who came over to our table to help us with paying the bill. He was an absolute star and we left with a stomach ache due to the amount of laughter, he was very entertaining I know he is a credit to your company, but he should definitely be on the stage. (Without his broom, his joke not mind) Thank you to Paul and the team for a very memorable evening.
