A beautiful pub right by the Thames and near Borough Market. If you're outside, you'll have River views; inside is the most beautiful pub from 1615. Exposed beams, a good collection of drinks, with a decent food menu, not overbearing.

An awesome river site pub. Roof terrace, riverside terrace, indoor wood panelled seating areas. A great place to hang out and popular with office parties with lots of areas to book out. It’s cashless so bring your card (or your boss with their credit card!). Staff are friendly and efficient. Toilets are clean.

A really nice bar, large but with lots of small corners and places to sit. Love the placement too. Enjoyed their berry cider, Old mout cider a lot.

My sister and I absolutely loved our visit here Friday. Outside area was large and perfect for a sunny day, drinks were very reasonable for London and the staff were super friendly. Would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be back!

We loved it! We walked through a long alleyway to find the pub and almost gave up but happy we persevered! We had a delicious meal in a great setting! We will def be back. Try the beer battered fish and chips or the pot pie - SO good!

Visited after ten years with my family this time. Still has very nice and tasty dishes. Burger and fish n chips are so good. A Kids menu would be nice however

Lovely riverside pub. Service was kind of slow, but the atmosphere was great, and the pub was fantastic. I totally recommend it.

First time in an Anchor restaurant and you have to go. Amazing food service. Some foods and drinks tasted melted in other mouths. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything were outstanding, fish and chips, Pizza❤️ and sticky toffee might have been the best meal I had while in London bridge area. Highly recommend!👌

I do not recommend. I ordered drinks and waited 25 minutes before asking the bar. They decided on (sarcastically) correcting me, telling me it had only been 5 minutes. That seemed a strange hill to die on, considering there was a time stamp on my order. Literally direct evidence? Like, I ordered drinks at 1:56 and then asked them if they were still coming at 2:20. Maybe math isn’t his strong suit. (To be fair he seemed really busy, the entire pub seemed understaffed) The food was not very good. Steak and ale pie mainly was gravy with a few morsels of meat. I’ll post a picture of the “pigs in a blanket,” not sure how someone looked at that and thought to themselves, “yeah, this is okay to send out” that dish looked like a cruel joke, to be frank. My brother got a burger that appeared to be cooked in what I can imagine as the fiery depths of hell - it was a dry, charred crisp of what was once (in another life) a patty. Great location and atmosphere, though!

Nice pub and very spacious. Nice decor, too. The only negative thing I have to report is the toilets. You press the water in the wash base, only for it to stop running in seconds, then you need to press it again and again until you complete washing your hands. As far as I know, this is not a healthy way of washing your hands because by keep pressing for water, there is contamination of bacteria. It needs to be addressed by the management.

Spectacular fish and chips. Triple cooked chunky chips and a fish done perfectly are a brilliant pairing for any summers day. Service is what it is being akin to a Wetherspoons but table was cleared upon seating and had food out quickly. The roof top deck is well worth walking up to try grab a seat outside in.

Was surprised by how big this place is. I can’t imagine you never being able to get a table, even at the most busiest times. The food was what you expect from a pub, nothing out of the ordinary. For reference, the beef burger was £13.99. The pub has some good isolated spaces if you want your own quiet place. We really appreciated that there was a bar upstairs and downstairs. Food came quickly but wasn’t very hot. Overall a good pub to go to if you want a cozy chat or a view of the Thames. The views are very pretty at night!!

Lovely Pub! 🥰 Plenty of inside and outside seating! You can sit on the rooftop garden or next to the Themse. A great variety on the menu and loads of drinking options. The inside is stunning! ❤️ makes you really travel back in time. You order on the bar downstairs or upstairs, doesn’t matter. 😌 Therefore the service is good 😂 Our food arrived pretty quickly! It looked and tasted fresh and delicious!! 😍😍 Definitely recommend coming here and enjoy the view of the river 🏞️

This old classic style pub is located on the banks of Thames and is on a busy sight seeing route. The insides of the multi storey pub are reminiscent of olden times and are quite charming. The pub has several cosy seating places. The food honestly wasn't upto scratch though. Staff wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable about how they handled vegetarian/vegan food choices. The apple pie was served late and cold with ice cream that had half melted. When I asked the server how they serve apple pie, her answer was: Cold! Well, I would like to hope that was an exception than a norm.

Amazing pub along the river. Really big, with a great outside area where you can enjoy the views especially during sunset. Standard beer selection. Great food selection, amazing fish and chips, and fast service. Only downside the bars not really fast and get really busy during peak hours.

The best place to feel the atmosphere of London / beautiful view of St. Paul's Cathedral from the patio / The pub was established in 1615 as a meeting place for local people / This is where Shakespeare prepared for his performances and where the first English dictionary was created. It is also a place that hides a lot of ghost stories / it is worth coming here and feeling this place

We had a nice relaxing time sitting in after hours of strolling in the city. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, mellow lighting with a nice view of Thames. Fun fact: it’s the only tavern that left from Shakespeare’s time and lived through the London fire (with renovation). I definitely recommend to head in while you’re around and check out this historic pub.

The food was amazing everyone was really nice & kind. Surely some improvement of furniture must be done in the future but the general atmosphere is excellent. You should visit Anchor for sure !! The steak & ale pie was 10/10, the fish & chips 8,5/10 (pies was probably only boiled) and the Anchor Burger was an honest 6/10 (fries was just as much, generally it was good but an window of improvement is there).

We popped in on a sunny Wednesday afternoon because the atmosphere was great! Sad about the service and food we found a table outside and moved the empty glasses which were on our table to the end which we weren't sitting at. We ordered through the app when the waitress brought out drinks they completely ignored th empties and when they brought out the starters we had to ask them to take them away which surprised us. When we opened the oversized cardboard box it was laughable it looked like it'd been thrown in, the only positive was, that it tasted good. Then the mains came out well that was disappointing to say the least the onion rings on the steak and chips were clacked in clumps of flour under the batter making them inedible and the burger on the other order was just so wet it was running out of the box! For meals which cost on average £15 and starters @ £8 I'd expected a plate even if it was a cheap white budget plate it would have been better than the flimsy chip shop cardboard box we expected better it wasn't a takeaway and wasn't priced at takeaway prices poor show great for drinks outside but don't bother with food unless sitting inside looking at other reviews. And no one came over to see if your meals were ok sad times

Ordered the fish and chips which were amazing! One of the best I have had in London 😀 Also got Chicken Kyiv was pretty good but very oily. Do grab some beer with it, helps! The staff is friendly and you can request beer tasting before purchase. Def worth a try! Fun atmosphere by the waterfront and chill vibes, grab a table under an umbrella especially to take cover from the London rains. Close to Shakespeare Theatre 🎭.

The location is beautiful, very vintage and tourist. The service is quick at the bar but horrible at the tables. When we arrived, it was early, and we just ordered to drink; lunchtime was approaching, and the place got busier. The smell of the food was delicious, so we decided to order something. We waited for more than 40 min for a sandwich and some chicken. The portions were tiny, and I couldn’t enjoy the food because we had the museum booked, so we quickly shovelled the food and ran. It looked and felt promising, but probably the table number is too big compared to the capacity of the service and the kitchen. The toilets were clean and we paid circa 30£ for the food.

My friend and I really loved this place. The atmosphere and food was great, as an American, even the portion was big. The fish was lovely and chips were also delicious, and let me tell you I love chips/fries with a passion. Would highly recommend. And Alex was very nice and helpful when we asked to split the check, didn't seem to judge as I'm beginning to see that splitting checks probably isn't normal in London?? Great and fast service!

Nice place, good atmosphere, but the food is served cold. The chicken sandwich could be better, no flavor, no taste, unsutisfactory. The soup was good but cold very cold. Burger simply good.

A very quaint pub! It has character. There's loads of seating upstairs & if you have a group of 7+ you can book a room all for all your mates and enjoy drinks and food. The food is good, but some items maybe out of stock, so check on the Greene King App. Speaking of food, you can order at the counter, but best of all you can order through the Greene King App, its pretty straight forward. Just remember to set your location to the right pub, note down your table number and that's it. Order to your hearts content, table service for you! As a Londoner, I consider this as my local, love it! ❤️

Great spot by the River Thames to stop, grab a bite of food and drink on a sunny day out in London. We were pleasantly surprised by the fish and chips, excellent portion and perfectly cooked. The pizza was ok, but this is a great spot to have a few drinks and take in the glorious view by the river.

Was wandering London and looking for somewhere to have a pint and stumbled across the Anchor. The outdoor bar had a decent selection of beers and drinks and service was relatively quick. It had great outdoor seating and views along the river but still suitably quiet and away from the hustle of the city.

Great little old school pub, lovely food friendly staff, a little wait for dessert but other than that was a good experience would definitely return

Lovely food and a lovely location. People want to sit outside for the view of the Thames but it's so oldy worldly inside, and cool temperature so it was a refreshing lunch when so warm outside.

The food is delicious and authentic of British pub. But sadly to say that my husband get hypnotised in the bathroom for sure, he lost all his ATM card, we consider after go away from the restaurant in the airport, many transactions appear on his mobile banking. He did not remember to give the card to anyone's but he just remembered that the man toilet's cubicle door cannot be closed, and his head hit the doors. His wallet still in his pocket but all the ATM was lost.

Nice food, roast was good and drinks reasonably priced, service was great, main course came quick. Only little complaint was we waited quite a long time for childrens pudding other than that a good visit and would return again.

Good and tasty food with a fair price. The location is easy to find, and the place itself is huge! I’ve found the service really nice. Would definitely go again next time I’m in London.

Nice pub with a big outside area, lots of space on a busy Friday night. Surprised by how early they called last orders but otherwise it was fine. Very nice in the daytime in the sunshine with beautiful views over the river.
