Absolutely astronomical prices. I wish I could say I enjoyed this staple of Camden. I'd understand if the place was actually nice, or had some sort of unique vibe, but this is just another rundown, old beer smelling English pub. The only difference between this and those gritty neighbourhood pubs, is here they play deafeningly loud heavy metal and it's in Camden. £7 for 25ml of cheap rail gin. And even then, I had to tell the bartender to actually fill the jigger, instead of halfway like I saw. His response was, "Well, we never fill it all the way." Essentially, you're telling me, "We love fraud." I'm guessing that is on the direction of the management and not his personal choice. If your single jiggers are standard 25ml English measures which I would assume as you are a bar in England, then yes, actually, you must fill it to the top. Or else you're short pouring. It's ridiculous that 25ml is the standard in the UK as it is (we are used to US ounces which are 30ml -- and 35ml in Scotland), but to short on that?! What am I getting then? 20ml? For £7! It's, as the boomers would say, highway robbery. I then ordered one double vodka and soda and it came to £17!!! I can get sophisticated cocktails at fancy bars in Soho or Shoreditch for less than that. Why anybody would come here is beyond me. To top it off, I asked for a slice of lemon or lime and was told they have to charge for that... because they only have one lime. Yes, one lime for that whole night's service. What is going on? I get that things are more expensive these days, but this is borderline insane. I don't even mind the loud rock music, as allegedly, it is a music bar, but it sure didn't feel like it. It felt like a straight-up tourist trap. Nothing more. I can't say I hated it, as the bartenders were pretty cool guys, but I've been to most of the pubs in the area at one time or another and this really has to be the most overpriced, overrated one. If it was reasonably priced, I would say it's a pretty okay place.

A big pub. For once there was room, the tables weren't placed right next to each other. Otherwise, the Wings taken as a snack did not work. They were small, dry and rather meatless, also the dipping sauce was unnecessarily "tame". Drinks were good, as was the music suitable for the place. The staff was very relaxed. And just like in Camden these days, the prices are way down.

Stopped here for a few drinks, staff were friendly. It’s got the grungy feel, the drinks are on the pricier side. The menu looks interesting too, we didn’t try their food.

Great venue, and deceptively huge pub - with a good selection of beers. But be warned - £14.07 for two pints of Staropramen, including a mandatory 5% service charge (despite being sat at the bar, next to the tap)… that is VERY steep even by London standards. We were out in Camden for a few beers, but left after one, as couldn’t justify the prices. I’d say worth it on a busy day, as can imagine the atmosphere is great.

One of the coolest place to be for head bangers. Lively and great people. Great musical choices. Cool food and beverages. Only the loo needs to be upgraded.

Not a bad pub depending on what you are looking for. Bare, industrial, cold look to it but some great music and decent pizzas. If you are looking for a nice cozy pint round the fire, then forget it. Diverse mix of Camden visitors and locals, good selection of beers although they are quite expensive. All round, it's worth a visit. Open at midday every day.

Please note - I very rarely give negative reviews. I used to enjoy going to this pub, I attempted to go in last night, but was not allowed because I had a bag with leftovers in it from the restaurant down the street. The food was in clear containers and it was obvious. It is normal to go out to eat then have a drink at pub afterwards- I also saw other men who were in front of me interrogated because one had a gym bag as they were just coming from the gym - they went through his entire bag and made him dump out his water bottle. It is also normal to go to a pub after going to the gym. It’s a pub in a large city - people don’t just leave their homes and go straight there or have the ability to go all the way home and drop off things like dinner leftovers, gym bags, or shopping bags! I had no problem going to the pub across the street with the same bag in my hand! It was just too much trouble for a pint when one can just easily go to the bar next door instead. I’ve been here a bunch of times and it isn’t that special- it looks like it’s gone down hill or just for tourists- not allowing locals to bring in things like gym bags is ridiculous! So lesson learned, if you want to go to this pub make sure it is your only destination and you don’t bring anything or buy anything prior to entering! Otherwise the bouncer won’t let you in!

Didn't eat food but great atmosphere, toilets could do with a good sort out, lack of toilet paper, doors that didn't lock or broken. Great music though 👌

A great place for great drinks selection, music varied but not to everyone tastes, however, I did miss the old cocktail menu they used to have, back around 2017, however they do have a shot menu with 5 for £20 but had to be the same one, would be nice if you could have 5 different ones. The only qualm that we had is that the lady that served us seemed reluctant to either explain they didnt have ingredients for the other types of shots The fries were nice and the calamari was amazing.

Very loud music if you like that kind of thing. The World's End us situated on the same site as a pub called the Halfway House, founded several centuries before. Later it was two pubs Mothers Red Cap and the Black Cap. I have no idea when the live music venue in the basement took over. I popped in for a Guinness after work. No complaints. Everyone very friendly. There is a splendid tiled fireplace - my grandpa had a plaster cast taken of the floral design which he built into his own fireplace, although I am not sure where he got the mould from.

We were looking forward to trying this famous bar in our annual London pub crawl. Just 2 of us. This was just number 3 on the list. We were quite ‘wowed’ as we went in and joined the busy bar. We’re mindful of who’s in front and appreciate that bar staff can’t always keep check. So as the staff were coming towards us we were trying to route them mostly to the guys next to us and patiently waited as others were served. At least 3 people joined the bar after we did and got served before us, despite calls of ‘yes please’, or ‘this guy was next’ Then a girl walked up and within moments was asked for her drink order. In fairness to her she did also try and divert the staff to us. But at the same moment in frustration I said ‘for goodness sake’. Well, the staff then said ‘all the time you’re shouting you’re not going to be served’ We weren’t shouting at all, it was normal conversation voices for such a loud pub! I said, ‘well you’re serving everyone but us!’ She then said ‘well you’re now going to be served last’. So that was that, we left. I hate being treated like garbage. I’m sure she called out to say we’re barred too! We visited another 10 pubs throughout the day/evening around Camden and back to the west end. Each and everyone with friendly welcoming staff, up for friendly banter despite being busy, totally engaging. It’s sad because you’d struggle to find, friendlier punters. It was so frustrating it felt like a personal attack, so completely soured the mood for a bit. It could have easily ruined our day. So, well done. You clearly don’t want us there. So we won’t! You won’t lose any sleep, which is also a shame that you can be so dismissive towards keen and potentially loyal customers.

This is by far my favourite pub to visit in Camden and possibly London. The music is on blast all day and the drinks are flowing!! The atmosphere is as epic as the sheer size of the bar area in the middle of the pub. Highly recommend if you love rock music and good alcohol!

Mine and my partners favourite pub to visit whenever we are in the area. It’s larger than you would expect from the outside and the atmosphere is always fantastic whenever we have been. Reasonably priced drinks and great music playing. We always recommend going here for a drink to friends if they’re visiting Camden.

SEVEN POUNDS and four pence for a pint!!! They weren't joking either. I'm all for paying low, even mid sixes for a Central London pint that isn't Carling, but this is pure extortion. The cheek to add the four pence as well, as if they'd delicately calculated it. No. Extortion. Only stayed for nine, cheaper pubs in the area.

World’s End? Yes, it certainly felt like it. Don’t get me wrong I’ve been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the vacuous space and most of all Underworld. I’ve supported this place throughout the pandemic and the prices have been crazy lately and that has put me off for a while. I returned with gritted teeth tonight and lo and behold two halves of Star came to £7.98. Yes, and the equivalent of £7.98 for a pint. A new record for my lifetime. Worse still as you can see from the photos most other options were conveniently off, which most likely were cheaper. As per my pandemic visits it was quite dead and this time round Camden was buzzing and the World’s End was still empty. The staff were miserable too compounding the whole experience. What a sorry excuse of a tourist trap this place has become. Save yourself the bother and make your way to any other pub round here (Black Heart, Camden Eye, Hawley, Devonshire, Dublin Castle). Just don’t waste your time with this money grabbing tourist trap. This pub is not in line with the prices locally at all all the aforementioned venues are much cheaper, despite their narrative in their review replies. Probably the most expensive pub in Camden if not London per ml. If they respond to these accusations I’ll happily refute them. Loyalty is dead. Living live rewards! R.I.P. The end of the world.

If your wearing black this is the stop for you before joining the hordes of gig goers 🤣, nice ale, larger and ciders. Food ain't bad. Loads of space and decent tunes. Just opposite the tube 👍🏻

I had set foot in this iconic venue for many years and wondered whether it still retained its unique atmosphere and character. Luckily, I was not disappointed. In an age where so many cherished bars have been homogenized and gentrified, the World's End remains thankfully unspoilt. Cool, lively and unpretentious with a great mixed crowd. The only downer for me was that there was no draught ale

Really great pub, one of my top ones in Camden. Always great atmosphere and the best rock and metal tunes. Lots of space too with cool decor. The staff are always lovely too. Highly recommended.

Went there with my friends and you'd immediately notice how big this pub is! They play great rock music and are cozy inside during winters. The staff is great and the security was the politest I've met and even offered to keep an eye on our things when we had to move for a bit. Definitely would recommend and a potential favourite pub of mine. Thank you staff and security for a great service!

Really nice old-fashioned pub. Very cool decor. Fair range of drinks. We tried the wings which were kind of bland, even with the sauce. Toilets are very primitive, no lids, just a metal container. Shame children are not allowed after 5pm.

Huge pub, lovely atmosphere, great alternative music, friendly staff. A "must go to" when visiting Camden market. Drinks on the pricey side but within London standards. Would have loved to visit the Underworld also but run out of time, will definitely be back.😊

Large pub with two bars and plenty of seating available. There was music playing but not too loud so you can still have a conversation. Opposite Camden Town underground station. Didn't have to wait long to be served at the bar. The selection of beer could have been better but would visit again if in the area. Be aware that bags are searched by security staff when entering and you are not able to enter with any bottles of liquid etc.

Great pizza and wide selection of drinks. Looked like an old man pub at first glance but it stretches back into a large venue at the rear. Service could have been better but overall it was a great experience.

Not bad music, but you hardly can listen to it due to the low volume. High prices for beer. Staropramen drought, over 7£. The most expensive pint in London for me in nine months!!

  • 3/5 Janine M. 9 months ago on Google
Always have a great time at the Underworld. Small intimate venue. Perfect for catching up with friends and seeing great bands. But the cost of the drinks is extortionate!! Would have had a couple of drinks each but settled for just one each then had tap water for rest of the evening.

It's a great pub, with great music. On this occasion however, service seemed slower than it should have. The bar at the rear of the pub was half empty, but it took a while before we were served. Good selection of beers.

One of my favourite pubs in London. I took a mate last night for his first visit. Really cool Rock/Metal pub. The pizza is excellent and decent choice of beers. The barman with the pink hair provided great service but the female member of staff did ignore me standing at the bar and had an unfriendly attitude. There was a run of awful death metal music but the Guy kindly put on some classic Rock for us 👍 They also have a great selection of cool t shirts for £17

Huuuuuuuge pub. Music super loud. Good beers and large selection with local beers. A bit cold also inside. The staff was fast and knew what they had to do. Everything is well done. Perfect for a stop. They also do pizza, unusual for a pub. I have not tried them so can not say

Lively north London pub with great music and a fun atmosphere, situated above a music venue. Wandered in randomly after a work dinner in the area and had a great time. DJ was playing a lot of great heavy music (think Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, Maiden, etc) but there was a very mixed crowd of all ages. 2 separate bars made it easy to order drinks and the place is quite sizable inside and can hold lots of people. Apparently the bar has existed in one form or another since 1631, so that's also pretty cool. Good number of options on tap; I tried the house pilsner and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back.
