The best pint of Guinness in London, and a huge turnover, judging by the number of full kegs they have stored in the small ground floor bar. Located in the heart of Soho, this very traditional pub also has another bar downstairs (although not open at the time of my visit on a weekday lunchtime). Ideal for fair weather drinking as lots of people spill out onto the street. Friendly staff and reasonable prices for the area. Most definitely worth visiting.

🚇 Tottenham Court Road 🍺 £6.00 Guinness ❤️ A shrine to all things Guinness. . The Toucan is located on Carlisle Street just off Soho Square in the heart of Soho. The nearest tube is Tottenham Court Road. . This building has had many uses over the years which include a Greek Restaurant, Disco, Club, Basement bar, Café and Sandwich bar. Back in the 60’s rock legend Jimi Hendrix once jammed in the basement here. . The Toucan came to life in 1994, the owners at the time thought there was a lack of good Guinness in central London, they decided to set up a haven for Guinness enthusiasts to get a proper pint of the black stuff in Soho. . This tiny pub/bar is set over two floors. At ground level there’s a small bar with a servery on the right. Downstairs in the basement there is another bar which has a proper Soho pub feel. Throughout both bars the walls are covered in every type of Guinness memorabilia and promotional material ever made, there are even little Guinness stools which were great. . The beer choice is good and there is a great selection of Irish Whiskies. I was here for the main event and ordered a Guinness. As it was St Patrick’s day and the place was mobbed, the pints were being served in plastic glasses which was understandable considering the amount of punters here for the black stuff. I have to report that the Guinness was excellent, really creamy and my pint hit the spot. . As mentioned earlier, I visited on St Patrick’s day and you could hardly move in here. I managed to find a Guinness stool in the basement and took stock of my surroundings. The atmosphere was superb and the place was in full swing. Outside was packed also with punters enjoying a lunchtime stout. . @thetoucansoho was everything I hoped it would be. Those who remember Soho of old and the vibe that surrounded it will find a sense of that here. The Guinness was excellent and lived up to its billing. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate St Patrick’s day, this place has got you covered. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 17.03.22

Decent pub - themed around The Toucan and the Guinness ! Had a fanatic baby Guinness to follow my pint There wasn’t lots of seating but the energy was cute and small A definite must visit

Great pub! Upstairs, downstairs or stand outside in the sunshine. The Guinness is superb and that’s intentional, through the effort and care of the staff. Professional and engaging staff and the landlord is such a lovely guy! Even if you only ever go there once make sure you have a pint of the black stuff.

was drinking outside the bar and finished a round of drinks before deciding to move nearer to the entrance due to the heater provided. security here switched off the heater and told us that we can’t stand outside the bar as we weren’t drinking despite already having bought a round of drinks for 6 people. after buying more drinks, we asked politely if he could switch it back on and he told us no. visit this place if you would like to be treated with no respect by a racist.

Everything it promises to be… the place to get the best Guinness in London. I loved the crowd outside, to include across the street, catching up on the sidewalk over a pint.

Always good vibes, Guinness is left to settle, and even served with a harp in the foam! It can be busy, but there’s often places to sit downstairs. I’m really glad this place survived the pandemic lockdowns of 2021 & 2020.

One of the best pints of Guinness you can get in central London. Best visited on a sunny day and congregating on the street outside watching the world go by

Christmas at The Toucan. Got there at 12:30 and realised it only opens at 1pm - my fault the times are posted. Queue started forming, so British, and by 1pm there were a good 10 or so thirsty fellows (all men). Once opened the pub filled up fast but the Hardy 10 were already saited with glass filled pints of iron rich goodness and quickly onto our second pints. It's a great boozer and the street outside provides a welcome overflow as it gets rammed.

Lovely little Irish pub doing a very nice Guiness! Went with an Irish lad and he commented on its quality too. Also have space downstairs if top bar is busy.

Small super cute pub with great beer. They have a two areas (one at ground level and another underground) and serve food too. Great atmosphere.

Was down from Liverpool on Saturday 10th of February and visited the Toucan at around 9pm. Really great atmosphere inside and out, doorman was superb and great fun, actually looked like the ex-footballer Ian Wright and was definitely as funny, staff were excellent and friendly and the Guinness was beautiful, definitely worth a visit if your around Soho!

What a brilliant little Irish pub tucked away in the streets of Soho. Though it may not stand out from the outside, inside is a cosy, warm, and genuine pub. As an Irish person in here, I can attest that the Guinness is miles ahead of most of the other pubs in the area. The staff, from the lads behind the bar to the security man, are all unbelievably friendly and full of life. If you’re looking for a top tier Irish pub in London, this is your best bet!

Been here a few times over the years. It’s really gone down hill. I only visited as it used to be the best Guinness in London. That’s far from the truth now. My pint was poured to the brim without being allowed to settle. Plus the owner was extremely rude and obnoxious. Won’t be coming here again anytime soon

Come here for your Guinness - the best in town, hands down. Oysters are also delicious, if that's your thing. Small place, but has outside seating/standing area. Quality!

Bottom Line: Best Pub for a Guinness in Central London Highs: A tiny pub that would make you feel like you're back home in Ireland, even in the depths of Soho. The Toucan looks, smells, and feels like a local Irish snug. The staff are friendly, attentive, and most importantly, quick. The Guinness is top notch for London, and they'll even give you a plastic pint if you prefer to enjoy the outdoor surroundings. Lows: This can't be changed, but it's small, so be sure to time your visit accordingly.

Used to be best pint of guiness around, recently had a pint pulled in one pour with no head. Then for my second I had a two part pour, while my pint was resting the bar man picked it up and poured some into another customers glass to top up the pint. I then ended up with another pint with no head. Left at that point…..

It's a good Guinness don't get me wrong but the interior leaves much to be desired. 100% would go back but only in summer, best enjoyed outdoors.

Busy pub on a weekday evening, great place to meet some bankers. Enjoy a fresh pint of guiness, its their specialty. Tight quarters but plenty of room on the sidewalks outside.

A decent pint of Guinness is to be had in The Toucan, it can get extremely busy upstairs so there ls a downstairs bar as well.

1 of the best Guinness in the city by far. Small pub. But you can sit outside on a good day.

Had a very unpleasant run in with one of the bar staff last night. I observed that her hat was interesting and wondered if it might be part of the uniform, as I knew nothing about the place going in. Shortly after she decided to track me down and berate me in front of my friends, saying that "someone who looks like me shouldn't be so rude". I did my best to apologise and make it clear that I meant no offence, not that either my friend or I could understand what I'd done wrong exactly, but she wouldn't accept. She obviously decided she didn't like me for whatever reason and that was that. I'm not in a hurry to come back and be treated to such rude and insulting service again. That being said the pub is otherwise decent so it's a pity.
