Unbeatable balcony overlooking the performances at Covent Garden. Good for beers and other aperitifs and also for digestives. All the pub has got charm indeed and every time I have been there the atmosphere was great (tourists mainly, of course, but the smartest ones). This time we got a sit in the very first row, as a little compensation for the long lasting desert crossing of last year. Next time we will check the food.

A Fine place, The Punch and Judy forming part of the Covent Garden building has a roomy upstairs bar with a large balcony overlooking St Paul's Church and the main Covent Garden performance area. A selection of keg beers and ciders on offer up here but no cask ales! For the cask offerings venture downstairs to the cellar, a capacious venue with vaulted ceilings and a subterranean patio garden. A jolly place for a beer or three and a bit of a must if visiting London.

The place looks nice but I was disappointed by the food and service. We waited more than half an hour for our food. The fish wasn't crispy at all and it taste wasn't right for me. The chips with the fish were better than the ones that came with the burger. The burger was a bit bland, chips were not crispy at all.

Nice enough greene king pub located in Covent Garden. The service was OK, but not amazing. The food and drink on offer was standard, food looked good though. We ordered through the app which was quick and efficient. The upstairs area is not great and should be avoided. Very dirty and not well kept.

Stylish and well located pub/bar with nice top floor bar and outside balcony. Expensive and under-staffed at the bar so service can be a bit slow at times

Come to London and what we think of typical cuisine as Fish and chips in a pub. Went to a nice pub at Covent garden, Punch and Judy, here had an excellent fish and chip where there was pale buttered cod with Whitby scampi, garden peas, pickled onions, bread and butter, tartar sauce, curry sauce, and seriously triple cooked chips. Never had cod fish, but this was super tasty. Definitely a must try place.

Love this little bar, right in the heart of Covent Garden. Split over several floors the top floor has a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Nice and breezy, excellent vibe a great place to drop in when sightseeing in London.

Great rooftop to have a beer and enjoy the English sun. Come at about 6pm onwards when the atmosphere will be better with more people. Good amount of beer on tap also. Downstairs is an underground vibe and is a nice atmosphere. Either way you can’t go wrong.

Great place! Great food and drink! Great atmosphere! We were lucky enough to get a table but be warned as it gets very busy at the weekends and you can't book.

The batter on the fish was tasty and crispy and the size of the fish was more than plenty for me. Just a remark: As a tourist I was not aware I had to order at the bar so they could have told me since I was sitting on a table for 15 minutes just waiting while passing by me and serving other people. Staff was friendly and helpful though.

Really nice pub to visit. Good food. Very busy. Professional staff. Minus 1 star for very wobbly chairs, myself, my partner and a friend didn’t feel safe sitting on them. Otherwise, a really nice spot.

Only went in for drinks and the balcony view and it did not disappoint. The service was quick for the drinks and there’s a nice seating area inside and outside. To get to the place you need to go inside the building and you will find the entrance and it’s one floor up. They have a downstairs seating as well but it doesn’t do it justice because of the balcony.

The chicken platter was super scrumptious. However, the wings were really not that great, but the other chicken bites compensated for that downside. The fries and onion rings were on point and the sauces were pleasant. Couldn't really tell you about the salad, it really speaks for itself; if you want a salad go to a salad place. The peroni beer tasted a little funky and if you are looking for a lemonade in the UK expect to get a 7up with a lemon and not the real deal squeezed lemons with a little sugar and water. Everyone had to walk up to the bar to order so the traffic inside was non-stop. The tables were kinda cramped and some of the patrons were super rude and clumsily bumping into your chair because of the close proximity of the other tables.

Always a good time visiting P&J, it's one of the more popular places in Covent garden. Sadly I can't talk much about prices as I was very drunk when I arrived last Tuesday. You get a great view of the performance area if you get upstairs on the balcony. Well worth a visit!

Wanted food but the kitchen was closed. Even so the ale was fab! The atmosphere was amazing, lots of friendly people had a great time. Lots of history, couldn't help but read all the panels about the old days of Punch and Judy!

The pub is nicely tucked away and the atmosphere is great. It’s in the heart of the city and in beautiful Covent Garden but the prices are a bit extortionate with £7.50 pints. Worth it for 1 or 2 pints for the vibe but not so much after that.

Good location. Didn't eat here so cant comment on food, Beers and wine selection decent. It's a fast turnaround place to drink on a night out in the top bar and worth a visit if you want to look over the balcony on 'acts' down in the square.

The Punch and Judy is the place to be if you're craving a classic British meal of fish and chips. Located in the heart of London, this charming pub offers a delightful atmosphere and delicious food. The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked, with a crispy golden batter that's simply irresistible. The chips are equally as satisfying, thick and fluffy on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. The portions are generous, ensuring you'll leave feeling satisfied. The service is warm and friendly, adding to the overall dining experience. If you're in search of the perfect fish and chips, look no further than The Punch and Judy.

We stopped here for lunch. They opened at 1100 when everyone else opened at 1130 so it was an easy choice and we were glad we stopped! The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly! You order at the bar and they'll check on your table for refills etc. Everyone at the table, 6 of us, was extremely happy with their food and service. Highly recommend!

"Located in Covent Garden, Punch & Judy offers a fantastic atmosphere with a distinctly local crowd, providing traditional British flavors. The service and food quality are quite impressive considering the prices. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, soaking in the authentic British vibes. Highly recommended for those seeking a delightful and genuine taste of England!"

Very busy when we went, but managed to find a spot downstairs before it got a bit quieter on the balcony. Downstairs was cozy and intimate, felt very old London which was nice. On the balcony was great also, good for people watching and a good beer. Staff were quick and nice!

An interesting & quaint place in a great location. The food was nicely served & was hot. Great drinks selection & very friendly staff. There was a lively atmosphere & plenty of staff....we didn't have to wait long at the bar or for our food to arrive. There were lots of steps but I assume there would be disabled access.

Unique setting with balcony overlooking the performance area of Covent Garden below. Food served downstairs. Ambience, cleanliness and staff were all good, we just felt their prices were steep (over £30 for 2 sandwiches, small glass of wine & a cola). Otherwise pleasant venue.

My experience at Punch & Judy exceeded all expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the staff. The service was impeccable throughout, with attentive waitstaff ensuring that every need was met promptly. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply divine! Each dish was expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavour. The menu offers a fantastic variety to suit all tastes, and each dish was beautifully presented. The ambiance of Punch & Judy added to the overall experience, with cozy yet elegant decor providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable London pub experience. In summary, Punch & Judy is a gem that I cannot recommend highly enough. Whether you're looking for exceptional service, delicious pub food, or a charming atmosphere, this place has it all. Five stars all around!

It felt like going to “Cheers” the TV series “…where everybody knows your name…”. The manager is a very warm and friendly character. The staff always asking if everything is ok, can we change anything etc. So something to note: as soon as you get there get a table immediately especially if you want to sit out side. Then go and order your food and drinks. Definitely a nice place to visit

Atmospheric pub set in Convent Gardens steeped in history with low vaulted ceilings on the ground floor and on the first floor a balcony over looking St Pauls (not the big one!!) where you can watch street performances while havi g a mulled wine!!

A "must do" place to stop and have a pint. Sit at the outside bar, overlooking the street below and enjoy the sunset... like I did.

The pub is back… thanks to Punch & Judy. Our first day in London and we were craving the pub classics: Fish & Chips! (with a pint of Guinness!!) Lovely pub in Covent Garden, easily enjoyed, kind staff, highly recommendable. As they say, “… let’s raise a glass, together at last.” cheers 🍻

If you can get a balcony view, make sure the weather is dry. Not much room upstairs to accommodate a full bar plus the rush in from the rain. Good selection of beers and prompt service. Décor is of the time i.e. 1670's. although the lighting is now electric. Dining is provided in the basement which, again, is of the time. Dark, dreary and almost unfurnished. There is a separate 'Garden' area that has natural light but is very popular. If you book a table, you will be in the "VIP" area - the basement. Steak was OK and the gammon were more like chops. Platter was really nice and the plate cleared in no time. Service was quick and cheerful but we needed flash lights to read the menu.

Quirky pub on multiple levels in the heart of Covent Garden. Higher end London pub prices for drinks but more than made up for by the balcony seats we got overlooking the street entertainers in the square below .... well worth a visit if you're in the area 😉
