It used to be one awesome metal pub, in the heart of Camden, with unique selection of booze and freaking awesome music...it's even better now, since they introduced food. Fully vegan menu, delicious grub, perfect with your pint of Hells! Well done, Black Heart.

An incredible pub hidden away in Camden. There is a really cool theme inside the main pub and the staff are friendly and helpful with a large selection of drinks. They also have a great venue upstairs which hosts live music. I saw Ye Banished Privateers here and it was a great event made even better by the staff. They even livestream performances so you can watch them at a later date.

First time back here post pandemic (be nice, i am 55 and don't get out like i used to...). Have been here before but always found it and the staff a little bit "cool and aloof" for my liking. Came here for pre gig drinks and as soon as we walked in we noticed that the atmosphere was more friendly, all staff were attentive and helpful and behaved like they really wanted to serve us drinks and have a good time. Fortunately, the dark decor and vibe and interesting beer selection remained. Liked it so much we came back for post gig drinks too and enjoyed a chat with the acting manager Tobias, whose big personality was almost matched by his big hair. All in all a great experience, nice to find somewhere getting it "right". Obviously different bars attract their own sort of clientele, but if this your thing i highly recommend a visit.

Black Heart is one of the less well hidden secrets of Camden. An iconic place for regulars that may be missed by the casual visitor to the area. It is an always pleasant old school metal bar, with a selection of craft beer, good music and a great live music venue on the upper floor (closed at the moment, I think...). Well worth the visit when in Camden and looking for a genuine metal environment with a chilled friendly approach and good drinks and music.

Popped in for the yummy and filling brunch, food was awesome and loved the beans. Will definitely be back for more and the drinks available are extensive. I had discovered a brilliant low alcohol Bavarian beer that was on tap (Lucky saint). They have gender neutral toilets and I liked the decor and got the old Camden town fell.

Another favourite Rock and Heavy pub. Love the place and layout, beer selection is simply great! The only minus point is for the music selection. Could be better in my humble opinion.

There is no darker place to hide in plane sight. Just accross from Worlds End and Underworld, tucked away in and inconspicuous alley, if you're a fan of heavy riffs it is a must. Darkened with dimmed lights, and appropriately themed decor, come If you seek it. Plenty of small seating areas to blend in a corner and dissapear. One large middle bar. Great service, playing insanely good metal all day and night. Top room is where the gigs happen. Room is small and the speakers top notch, will blow your eardrums if u don't stand in the middle, so grab some free earplugs at the little bar to the side, and don't act hard. Solid vibes always, smoking area anywahere outside, relaxed security, be respectful when you come.

One of London's premier metal bars with a great venue, which AWAP found an absolute honour to play. Also the hub of pre, during and aftershow activity in Desertfest season. Such an awesome place to hang out, people watch and soak up the subculture.

Can I give more than 5 stars 🤩 this place is so cool 😎 we were greeted by the most gorgeous & friendly host, Tobias, and seated at our table, that we had pre booked. They guided us through the menu and then we ordered at the bar. Their entire menu is Vegan and we were there specifically for the Vegan Sunday Roast and OMG it was Devine! I had the ‘steak’ while my partner had the ‘pork belly’. So juicy and succulent, bursting with flavour and crown on our plates was the Vegan Yorkshire Pudding, just like your Nan used to make (almost😄). The Gravy needs its own paragraph 😃 you could drink this by the pint! Absolute perfection, I’ll be dreaming of this tonight 🤤 It’s a rock bar but the music wasn’t too loud, the have a separate live venue room for that. The drinks menu was plentiful and each drink had a good description so you knew what you were buying. I can’t rate this place enough!

Absolutely delicious food - the best roast dinner I’ve had, and it was vegan. So yummy, great portion, I couldn’t finish it all. Staff and host were so welcoming and we had two dogs with us and they just couldn’t have been better. We will be back!

I have been in Camden three times now, but somehow never went to the Black Heart. I met up with a friend during the afternoon for a few beer, and was emmedialy greeted with a great vibe. This is a place for metslheads who want to hang out and have a good time. Upstairs is the small and intimate venue which I really enjoyed. Seven bands in one night, great beer, great friends and an all round great experience. I can highly recommend this place if you're in London!

Cannot recommend enough! One of the most amazing pubs in Camden. Great atmosphere, amazing music, great drinks selection. One of the best, must do in Camden. Off the beaten track as well. Live gigs upstairs

Rock bar in Camden that plays good music and sells vegan food. We didn't try any good whilst we were there but did manage to get a booth for having some drinks. I was advised to avoid the toilet so I didn't go so I can't comment on how it was. Nice decor though and spacious enough with a room upstairs for bands to play

I visited the Black Heart with a friend on Sunday for the vegan roast. Reservation definitely recommended as it got pretty busy. Great selection of beers and friendly staff. Unfortunately it was a pretty cold day and the whole place was freezing cold. Additionally we had to wait for quite some time (I think about 1h?) for the food to arrive. We had the pork and beef roast + the cheesy cauliflower. The roasts were great, the pork tastes very tofu-y though. The beef was fabulous. The cauliflower tasted a lot like nutritional yeast - a bit too much to my liking. Anyway, the gravy, crisp potatos, veggies and Yorkshire pudding were delicious and I'd come back (in summer).

What a place. Upstairs, which hold 175 people, is perfect for the more intimate gig. Bit pricey on the drinks but where isn't these days. Overall love it here and look forward to many more visits

Very interesting place ! The waiter explained most of the dishes , the vegan roast was good, but I wouldn’t relate it to meat dishes but purely its own vegan dish , since it hardly resembles meat. Anyways still tasty and nicely presented

Vegan Metal Pub, great Saturday brunch. One of the last places that feels like the Camden of 10+ years ago - great vibe and music. The frozen absinthe Piña Colada was out of this world (I assume this changes regularly though)

Amazing roast and amazing service with a brilliant soundtrack. Travelled from South East London and 1000% worth it. The Yorkshire pudding was perfect and something you don't get elsewhere. The chicken "skin" was something unique and tasty and they brought us a huge pot of gravy. We took our dog and they were great with her. It's not fast food so don't expect that but with this level of service and great selection of drinks the small wait is all part of the experience, better than somewhere trying to get you and get you out. The kitchen is small and you can tell they're working damn hard. I travel and eat out a lot for work and this place has better food, service and atmosphere than places charging twice as much. Don't forget to tip if you love it too! 🙂

I usually come to the black heart after work and have had a roast here before but it has changed substantially. Me and my friend ordered the vegan roast special which was not up to my expectations. The food took 1 hour and 10 minutes and we were not given an update until I asked. Then we were given gravy that was not cold but not really hot 10 minutes before the roast was served. It ended up cold by the time we were able to eat. The oversized carrot was undercooked and crunchy. The brick of chicken was quite dehydrated but the gluten skin tasted lovely. It’s served with patte but it looked like they had put too much on my plate and scraped it off again. There was NO patte. The Yorkshire pudding was tiny and the taste resembled frozen york puddings. The roast potatoes were too big, dry and looked like they had fused with a baking tray and prized off. The kale was nice but I didn’t taste any garlic like the menu had described. Overall It was very close to a Tobey Carvery and felt like it had sat under a heat lamp for 20/30 minutes. The drinks were nice and the house larger on tap was refreshing. I would return for a beer but I won’t be coming for a roast again.

I used to live in Brighton so I thought I knew what a good vegan roast was … but this was truly top banana!! 👍 I visited today with my boyfriend, it was fully booked, but the table was ours for an hour and a half, everything was available on the menu and the vibe was relaxed/welcoming/sexy. We both got the pork, two chunky slices of tofu, massive potatoes, crackling (!) and I cannot understate this: the yorkshires taste Real Deal 🥹. It was a perfect roast, you will be properly fed here, and Tobias ……. I love you x

Funky, grungy, busy, not as alternative as it used to be, a bit commercial in places..there's a Pret there now. Photos from the Black Heart, fantastic pub close to Camden Station. Wonderful person behind the bar, I'm so sorry I've gone blank on your name. They're 6ft 4" loud, lovely, jolly punk..

Suuuuch a great place! Nice options on tap and cocktails were solid! Toby went above and beyond to make our experience super fun and unique tonight, serious knowledge on all the serves given out and a great, fun presence to be around! We stopped by for one drink and ended up staying for hours at the bar counter, genuinely not wanting to leave. Nice gig area upstairs, clean, friendly venue and great staff across the board! Shall be back for more bucky concoctions (and to claim my tiny-baby child support! ;) )

Very nice pub with a cool atmosphere. I like coming here, the bar staff is really nice and friendly and I always meet some cool people when I come here. I try to come over at least once every couple weeks. Keep up the great work

It's always a great time here. Classic metal pub with good company and great music, all the usual drinks you'd expect. Unlike other venues, there was actually enough seating too! The loos are pretty grim, but that's exactly what I'd expect at my local.

Cool chilled out rock bar. Great open warehouse space, very good selection of beers and ales, including guest casks. Very friendly hard working staff who provided a quick service.

Great wee rock boozer tucked just by World's End. The staff were attentive and lovely. The other patrons were all good humoured and I didn't see any agro. Popped upstairs for the Jazz/ reggae bands. Nice surprise. Will definitely pop back here.

Undoubtedly London's best rock pub. Excellent music that doesn't repeat on each visit. Incredible rotating craft beer selection, that are all reasonably priced, especially given touristy location. Live music on first floor can be heard from above, but that just adds atmosphere. Toilets are famously gross but worth enduring if you want to listen to quality rock music whilst drinking tasty beer.

As a bonafide Southerner missing home, I can firmly put my stamp of approval on their (vegan) chicken and waffles! The gravy was mighty fine as well. But more than the decadent and exciting dishes, the service was exquisite! We were served by the energetic and wonderful Tobias; when the brunch was over, we were tempted to stay just to hang out with them! Amazing service and great vegan eats, 15/5! <3
