This place is my sanctuary from the horror of Euston Road and the awful pubs/bars along its route. A very spacious dark wood interior with meeting & dining rooms upstairs and lots of outdoor seating. Great selection of IPAs. I note the very mixed reviews about the food/service but I haven’t eaten here and can’t comment. I must say, however, that the staff appear to be a little disinterested. There was an uncleared empty food table when I arrived that was eventually cleared at least 20 minutes later. A little more enthusiasm would make this a 5 star gastropub.

A fine welcoming establishment offering a good choice of beers, both cask and keg. Fast friendly service from the lovely staff. Beer is well kept and tasty. Plenty of food on offer. There are private dining rooms and a small terrace at the back, also a fair bit of seating at the front of the pub for those sunnier days. Close by is St. Pancreas old church, a site that houses the tomb of Sir John Soane. There is a wonderful museum in Lincoln's Inn Fields from the man. Worth a visit.

Beautiful bar, lovely food. We visited all the way from Glasgow with a friend who lived along the road when she was a young girl and she was really excited to take us to experience the pub and the area. Unfortunately the staff were all very unfriendly and unwelcoming which resulted in a less than pleasant experience. Hopefully just a one off!

I've been here twice now and both times I've received great service and delicious food. Staff were really attentive and it wasn't a long wait for food. We went around 2.30pm on a weekday so it was fairly quiet inside. I would recommend the fish and chips. Huge portion and really nice. I also ordered the baba ganoush on my second visit and that dish was OK :) Plenty of small plate options too. Would definitely recommend the fish cakes and mussels!

Had such a lovely night here. It was particularly chilly and before we were allowed inside pubs. But the provided blankets and hot water bottles. The staff were super lovely and friendly. And the food was yummy!!

This pub is like a oasis to the local area. Traditional features rather than modern city pub. Lots of space within which to sit and drink, dine or both. Great staff and quick service. Good range of beers under the Charles Wells brand. Great stop-off enroute to Kings Cross St Pancras or Euston stations. I'll be back!

We had an excellent meal here a few weeks ago with a group of 12 of us. Despite being busy and a staff member down we had brilliant attentive friendly service from Will and the team. The food was fantastic and beautifully presented and timely. We will 100% be back as this was faultless and made for a wonderful evening. Thank you all!

We wanted this to be our local pub but we are no longer going there. Although it is a cozy pub and it has terrace, the food is ok/average and the service is VERY SLOW. It has the slowest staff ever. Every time we have been there we had to ask several times to 1. Order, 2. Have our drink/food, 3. Get the bill. Once we waited 40 min to get our drinks, and it was just beers. The waiters do not seem crazy busy, they were talking with friends at the pub or within themselves even though they noticed people were trying to get their attention to order something. Such a disappointment. In summer they had temp staff and it worked much better, it seems they need new staff who care about the business and the customers.

Ash surprised us with these incredible cocktails, better than in some cocktail places I know 👏

Nice place, with a cute downstairs cocktail bar. The staff were friendly. The drinks were a joke though. I often go out for cocktails and what was offered here is something more like juicy water. Don’t order the cocktails because 1) they’re nothing like they should be, i.e. wrong glass, wrong ingredients, wrong ice proportions 2) I don’t think they contain any alcohol. They add a service even when you’re ordered and collecting your own drink from the bar, which is odd.

I had never been here before , I came across it by accident walking around wasting time as I was waiting for a train. I didn't have any food but what passed me was very good looking and smelt tempting. Coffee was good though , we both said we will return for lunch .

Good selection of draught beer and food. Was stood at the bar waiting to be served and staff dealt with others. A little customer awareness training. I know what it can be like as I have done that position as well and it is understandable if the bar is rammed.

Great pub for a quick lunch around Kings Cross. Good selection of beers, delicious food and the staff are just so lovely! Shout out to Chloe, who always makes us feeling welcome and is probably the nicest person in the world!

Group of 6 of us came in for drinks 6pm yesterday. Walked in and glanced at the paper menu on the bar and then the girl behind the bar (short dark hair) snapped ‘kitchens closed’. No hello or a smile. Ordered drinks from her, but her manner was rude, almost like she didn’t want us there (the place was pretty empty). She nearly made me leave but our pints were already being poured. The other bar staff (a guy) was much more friendly and chatty. The pub is in a good location and cosy enough but one rude girl means I probably won’t return

We went to the lovely cocktail bar downstairs for happy hour. It was busy-ish when we arrived but there were still a few tables available. As you'd expect it got busier later. There was a good happy atmosphere and the cocktails were really tasty. However the bar seemed very understaffed, with only 2 people serving, which wasn't nearly enough staff when everyone was ordering happy hour cocktails! We ended up leaving after 2 drinks because the bar queue took so long.

I booked the Somers town a few days before I was going and with there being alot of availability I wasn't sure if it would be ok, however it was a wonderful cute place for a Sunday brunch and I highly recommend, forget the new food courts and areas and find this gem just behind st Pancreas station. There was a large brunch selection including good vegetarian and vegan options, large portions, seafood, coffees and cocktails. I had the full vegan and it was perfect, highly recommend

A lovely place tucked away from all the crazy busy places around both Euston and kings cross stations. The menu is amazing with a mix between traditional English pub food and a variety of quirky recipes. It’s quite spacious with lovely and warm decorations that gives off a homely vibe. The staff is friendly. Definitely worth visiting again.

Bit disappointed, arrived about 7-8 mins late with a reservation but couldn't find any staff or get through the queue to the bar staff fast enough to say I was there so they gave the table away (15mins standard). I hadn't been before so I didn't know I was supposed to push my way to the back of the venue to the manager (?) 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂 No consideration was given, and I won't be coming back. For management: can I suggest that you don't take drinks reservations upstairs if you're, as you say "that busy"

Went here for a Sunday roast, and we weren't the only ones, but they no longer serve them and haven't for years, apparently! They do offer brunch, however, so we plumped for some choice options and waited. And waited. When the food came, the full english was cold but we couldn't attract the attention of a waiter so it went uneaten. My eggs florentine were over cooked and also cold, but I was hungry so ate it regardless. The flavours and portions were, however, spot on. Just a shame the service and temperature didn't match up to what chef was creating.

It’s a bit weird, as it’s a pub-cafe. But the service is excellent, the staff super-friendly and the food delicious. Not terrible expensive for London either. Totally recommend

Came here for a Saturday brunch 🍴 Food: Chorizo hash was delicious, berry buttermilk pancakes were ok but not super special. Portions a tad on the small side. Service: extremely friendly, only feedback is to clarify that "water for the table" is charged here as that wasn't clear and at £5 it's not insignificant. Atmosphere: super cosy classic English pub vibes. Really nailed the décor and vibe.

My group of friends arrived for our dinner reservation in a private room, which has been booked for several months, to find the pub closed. Despite us paying a deposit, pre-ordering our meals and being in contact with them during the previous week when lots of their other bookings were cancelling on them, they didn't bother to give us any notification of them cancelling our booking. They let us travel from all round London and we didn't find out anything was wrong until the first guest arrived (with a young baby) to find the place closed. The staff were rude, insulting and unhelpful and then rubbed salt in the wound by letting another person into the building, even when they'd already turned our group away. My advice - don't trust this place with your business.

Terrible staff. Busy talking to each other all night and not serving, and very rude. And sacrilegiously poured a Guinness in one go. Arthur himself would be rolling in his tomb.

Booked a table in advance to spend with friends before Christmas. Couple of things, no table service which meant that we all had to queue for food and drinks losing most of our evening to the mad Christmas pub queue rush. Second, all of the sparkling drinks weren’t available. The bartender then said they recommended the champagne at double the price of everything else. Said that was a bit cheeky but if they’re doing it for the same price as the ones we’ve asked for then great - that was obviously a no. However later in the evening the same bartender gave a glass of champagne to another customer and said they wouldn’t charge for it as an apology for not having the other drinks available. Anyway, I’m sure it’s lovely for a post work pint or a pre-train drink, but for a booked evening for a group, it was disappointing.

Really disappointed. Went today for what was meant to be a special Sunday treat. Firstly they wouldn’t accept cash so I had to use a credit card 🙁. The service was not particularly friendly, or efficient. We waited 45 minutes for our food which arrived warm not hot - The roast beef was flavourless, no Yorkshire pudding, the new potatoes weren’t roasted, the parsnips were undercooked, while the broccoli (like the meat) was overcooked, and to top it off, they had “run out” of horseradish. I wouldn’t recommend this pub at all. Such a shame, as it looked good online.

This is a nice pub with decent food but there were a few of things that let it down. Firstly , I had a booking which never made it from the website to their table list, but luckily we were able to fit in. Secondly, there was only one bitter on tap and it was on the wane. Next, the prices on the online menu are different to the actual menu (F&C 14.50 vs. 17). Lastly, when I paid I was not given a receipt and was overcharged - it turned out to be a mandatory 10% service charge. I resent this because I had to order food at the bar myself and it was added without consultation before we’d received anything at all, which is just odd. I’m old fashioned, a service charge should reward good service not just to pay the wages of staff when you have to go up and order your food yourself. Staff all very friendly and apologetic when challenged on this and ambience and decor are good. Would give it another go but just a shame that so many things were wrong in a short visit.

Amazing food! I come in here for lunch during the week sometimes and the food never disappoints! I love trying the new items on the menus and they have great fresh specials. The pork belly is absolutely mind blowing! I would give the food 6 stars if I could! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stopped in to grab a bite for breakfast just as they opened as they're close by to where I was staying. Ordered a Full English Breakfast and some tea. My order was taken quickly and it didn't take long for the food to come out. Staff was friendly...I have no complaints.

Went to Somers Town for an engagement party. The location is near a large national railway station. We were in the basement which is a bar area. Very nicely laid out, quite modern in decor. The staff were attentive and friendly. Somers Town catered the event too, and the food was delicious.

Great local place, nice small plates of food, lovely staff. Surprise was a speakeasy, cocktail bar in the basement which stayed open after the pub closed. Well worth a visit, we had a lovely time.

Excellent breakfast spot half way between Kings Cross and Euston stations. I had Full Vegan which was excellent and also tried the French Toast which was fantastic. Not bad prices for London and very good Americano coffee. Nice decor inside and also has a full bar. Lunch menu looked pretty good too. I've been on my last 2 visits to London and everyone enjoyed it

If you want to special place to book for a birthday, the upstairs rooms are definitely worth considering. Service is good and the food is decent. There is a selection of drinks, ales, beers and wines, although the cocktails were pretty run of the mill. The decor is wonderful though, has its own charm.

I held an event in the Speak Easy Cellar bar. The venue has an excellent location in close proximity to Euston station. The area we had in the cellar is a quirky, funky space. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing! No photos I’m afraid. I was a bit busy.

Really nice traditional pub. Even though geographically it's very much in central London it's located down a quite street which almost gives it a sense of being in village pub. Relaxing place and friendly staff. I will definitely go again!

I used to love this place. But it’s gone downhill. They switched sunday menu without prior notice. (I booked a table for the roast dinner) Most of the food arrived cold and then took ages to rectify. No cutlery with food. No napkins. Staff seemed uninterested and angry for no apparent reason. Finished plates sat on table for 1hr after meal (it wasn’t busy). It’s a shame cos it used to be a great spot.

This place used to be great but has gone badly downhill. Visited today with my wife and 3 month old baby for lunch. It was virtually empty on arrival. I ordered 2 pints and was given 2 beers that were just sat on the side. I questioned it and was told I could have fresh ones, for which I replied yes please. Then another barmaid butted in saying they’d only just been poured which was rude. If they had explained the situation I may have taken them but to just thrust them on me was a bit off. Later my wife took our daughter to the baby change and she described the experience as worse than the long drop at Glastonbury. The toilet had clearly not been cleaned for some time. Someone, possibly the Manager did come and apologise. But worst of all was when a customer in a wheelchair tried to exit through one door which was blocked outside by a pallet. When she explained to the barmaid she couldn’t get out that door she was simply told ‘yeah we get deliveries there’. No attempt to help at all. The service was simply awful, such a shame as we used to go regularly and was a great pub. You won’t see me in there again.

Nice place, not usually too crowded, only a 2cm ish threshold to get in so suitable for most wheelchairs. Accessible toilet is often a bit grim though.

A great find tucked out of the way of the main high street of Euston Road. Good location for Euston Station and Kings Cross. Good drinks and beer collection. Has quirky rooms upstairs accessed through a bookshelf! Didn't eat but there were lots of tables for dining.

I found Somers Town Coffee House online as I was looking for a cute cosy pub to bring my friends for a birthday brunch. The interior is gorgeous and super cosy and the staff were lovely and so accommodating! The waitress (I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name) made sure that we all had drinks and Ian was very understanding even when when hadn’t preordered all of our food (as we were a large group of 10 people). As a hospitality worker myself I know how annoying this is so I really appreciate how patient and kind he was! We really had the best time here and the food was amazing! I will defo be back when I’m next in London:)
