First ever time experienced authentic pub in UK, and I was delighted! Online reservation was needed because of central location in London near Piccadilly and good reviews...Staff was very nice and helpful. Ordering food and drinks at the bar and paying right away is a good thing. Crowded pub, delicious food, lovely desserts, fair prices... I can definitely recommend St James Tavern!

Great atmosphere for a proper English Pub. The prices are a little touristy, but it was perfect for the cozy English vibes my friend and I needed. Very good selection of beers and the staff was really friendly! (I regret not leaving tips..) However, we need to review or take out the "bread and butter..."

Great food, good selection of beers. Not over priced for the West end and in great location for the lyric theatre. Staff are polite and helpful. Will definitely return. ( quite a small pub, don't turn up with a load of shopping bags when it's busy).

Nice english pub in the city center with quite a traditional look. Good place to try a beef pie with mashed potatoes and a beer. Fair prices but the place is a bit too crowded and noisy to have a conversation. However, the service was very fast and it also possible to order and pay through the app. Overall it is worth a visit

Great meal. Busy but the bouncer stopped it getting overcrowded. Meal was nice. It is a typical pub and pub grub. If you like that sort of thing, and we do, then you'll love it. Only gripe would be the toilets could do with freshening up. But when they have people walking in of the street to use them, I can understand why they don't bother.

First time visitor and so pleased we changed our arm. Quite a busy Friday night but plenty of staff so hardly any wait for drinks. Food was delicious, well presented and hot and arrived really quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive and a big thank you to the door staff for finding us a table tucked in the corner but still part of the atmosphere. A last minute decision to not go straight home from work could have been a lottery but turned out to be really enjoyable experience all round. Glad we found this little gem. Mains of fish and signature burger were great but the smores brownie stole the show. Won't hesitate in coming back.

Great little place. Selection of different proper beers was very good. Nice central place. Good for couples or groups. Food wasn't tried but looked really nice. Warm friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced for London. Would definitely go there again

Best pub in London. Very friendly waiters. Leam was great and as sweet as he can be. Excellent pints and friendly crowd. We stayed for a week in Piccadilly and ended up going every nite. Food was excellent and my wife liked the fish and chips a lot. Thank you everybody for making it a memorable experience. We will be back!

Great crumble. Popped into the St James Tavern to warm up a bit. A Guinness, large S.B, portion of chips and a crumble and custard £32, so not cheap. All was good. Crumble especially nice. Hot with nice, probably ambrosia, custard.

Good portion of fish and chips. A must try! We also ordered fried calamari but portion kinda small but was good and tender. It was a busy mid-afternoon on 2/10/23. I want to thank the guys who stood up and cleared the table for me and hubby. They walked outside in the cold to finish their beers. Very kind!

I loved the place. The food was really good. I strongly recommend the beef pie. The sausages were also good. My boyfriend and I had these two dishes and a beer and a cider. The price was 55 pounds, not too expensive. And the music was lovely!! The waiter was very nice too. It was the first time that I tried typical English pub food and I think I made a good choice doing it here.

Down from Scotland with my mum for a few days and found this fab wee pub, had dinner....fish and chips....absolutely fantastic. Beautiful thick white fish and the best batter ever, along woth a few wee drinks of course 😉 . Staff were fantastic and friendly, making sure we wer OK and comfortable. Quite a few seats were reserved but they wer for a couple hours later so we were given a table no problem. But....if u r thinking of going at night I think u should book as we were leaving about 6ish and it was steadily filling up. Great atmosphere and background music. Tyvm to the fabulous staff, I just been to remember where it is for my next trip 😀

Pop in here for a drink and to rest our legs from all the walking. Polite staff, quick service, and really nice atmosphere. Enjoyed our drinks and then ordered a snack to tide us over until we went to our restaurant booking later. Would highly recommend this pub. It gets busy quickly, but this is due to its popularity.

Very accommodating. Needed the toilet and am disabled . There are only mens on the ground floor but was checked to ensure no-one was in there and the manager stood on guard outside to ensure no one came in while I used them . Food although we weren't eating looked fab and will definitely book when in the area again . Very busy pub but friendly and obliging. Would recommend

On busy weekend, we, my wife and I, found an oasis: St James Tavern. very good staff approach on entrance, very gentle. Table with all hygiene care, simple and effective menu (on paper), my wife choose a chicken breast fillet and I a meat pie. I love eat something that we can eat at home but we found at street and it is delicious also. Both meals with no complain in taste, amount and speed. My wife noted something wrong with her beer but I didn't . As dessert, a chocolate cake like as meals, very good. We did not ask for coffee. Very good time.

I do love the atmosphere but extremely loud but it is a tavern & to be expected. Lovely patrons. Bathroom is virtually the smallest I've ever been to but again it's a charming place no matter.

This is a cool, cozy pub right in the middle of where you would expect nothing like it (touristy, pre/post theatre area) . St James is a legit brit pub with friendly staff, a seemingly friendly and happy crowd, and good food & drink. we hit this place after Get Up Stand Up and had a great time. They make a great hendricks & fever tree and the fish & chips were super tasty. Everything we were looking for :) We'll be back!

The bouncer (Richard) was such a lovely guy. Really memorable how helpful and kind he was and really left a good impression about the pub. The atmosphere was also great.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and a beer. Nice welcoming ambience with the traditional look of an old English pub. The food was delicious and the beer good. Will visit again when next in this neighborhood.

Recently I visited St. James's Tavern in London and had a mixed experience: While the location right by Piccadilly Circus was convenient and easy to find, the service was nothing special and the place was slightly crowded for a Wednesday afternoon. However, the drinks and the snacks/sides that we ordered were good and we enjoyed them. The atmosphere was lively and the overall experience was still positive. If you're looking for a place to grab a drink and some food in a central location, St. James's Tavern is definitely worth checking out.

Great meal and great pub. There is a room upstairs where it’s quiet. The fish and chips was delicious, the best I’ve ever eat.

This is just off Picadilly Circus to right in the tourist area of London but has been able to remain as a good example of a traditional London pub. Great welcome by the staff and good range of beer. We just missed a fish and chip evening.... but we were late!

The bald Italian guy was very kind and found us a table immediately. We had three fish and chips which were massive! A little too much for us to finish. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.
