Great selection of beers and home-cooked food at decent prices. Always busy - so a buzz about the place, even on a wet Monday afternoon! Separate dining area, pool table and an outdoor space. Really good pub if you’re looking for somewhere in the Liverpool Street / Shoreditch area. Used this place once as a base for a (hobbyist) model photoshoot on a quiet Saturday afternoon - snacks, a drink and somewhere for the model to change - all staff were interested and supportive! EDIT: Now permanently closed - although Google Maps currently doesn’t recognise my edit!

Nice British pub to have a beer after work, eat a burger or a huge fish and chips. The atmosphere is interesting, with more than one space, one for food, other for drinks, and one outside. Eating and drinking is recommended, to have an even better time. Bathroom is clean, attendence is friendly

Huge pub with giant outdoor area, filled with festive people even on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Loved it!

Your first impression of the Water Poet will not be glamorous. It doesn't look any special from the outside - small, typical London pub, but wait! Once you step in, it's huge! There is basement floor where they host free comedy night on Wednesdays, a nice garden, plenty of bars, fantastic selection of beers and do order their chunky chips. You won't be disappointed!

Visited the Water Poet for what's probably going to be the last time a couple weeks ago (as its closing down). The beer garden was I full flow and everyone was having a good time. I had a couple snacks from the menu which were good. The bar seems to have an endless selection of beers. Worth a visit before it closes!

Really cool and lively pub with a heap of different rooms to drink in, including a beer garden and pool room. Food was good without being great. The burger was pretty tasty and came with plenty of chips for £11. Reasonable selection of beers on tap. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was had a great vibe. One of the better spots on the Liverpool St area

I celebrated Harry and Meghan’s wedding in the beer garden and thought the venue was great! Only downside was the brunch food which was nothing special. Could have been because it was a busy day and cheap deal. That aside, the atmosphere and themed drinks were fantastic. Would go back for the beer garden on a nice day!

Better to visit in summer. We went to The Water Poet on a Wednesday night to watch an FA Cup game. Unfortunately the only TV’s showing the game were outside in the beer garden, and the small collection of outdoor heater just weren’t enough to keep the area at a comfortable temperature on a cold evening. Investing in this would definitely increase my rating. Otherwise, a really good place for groups, lots of big tables and spaces to sit and stand. The TV’s themselves were large and scattered around the venue (but those indoors were not being used). Enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger with a ridiculous serving of chips.

Oh man, this was one amazing roast, its a shame the pub is about to be shut down because of some stupid development. The pub has a genuine ambiance involving live sports, draught beer and good music. There is a separate room for people who want to have a roast and they make sure it is worthwhile. My lamb was amazing, I highly recommend
