Be warned, this place is essentially a pub masquerading as an upmarket eaterie which it most definitely isn't! My one and only time there, for a Christmas dinner in December was one big rip - so blatantly microwaved but not hot enough so varying temperatures of food but mostly cold. Should have complained but just got in with it as it was sort of the service we were expecting and were right. Due to its location, assuming it caters to wealthy City types who don't mind but for us mere mortals, it was hard to stomach and definitely not worth the £120 plus (x4 Christmas dinners and puddings, two Cokes and two Peroni's) for very lacklustre food. They was also not enough of it and was starving again later having to knock up a bacon sarnie when I got home. Temperature aside, my food tasted nice fortunately (Goose and cranberry sausage roll, roasted spuds and greens) but my partner's looked terrible (Turkey slices, roasted spuds - see pics - exactly how his dish arrived) and he can cook better at home on any regular Sunday. Think the kitchen staff are just that and not Chefs. There was about an equal number of staff to customers it seemed. Although the service staff were really nice, was annoying when drinks weren't received quick enough so you remind servers resulting in double drinks coming. The puddings were nice and hot which was great but then they're just microwaved up like the main course. I think for a large pub like this to struggle with service when there were only a couple of other tables in the entire venue confirmed our fears that it was out to make up for the losses suffered during Lockdown but this is not the way to do it. Very poor standard and although it's unusually spacious which I particularly liked, if it is going to survive long term, they need to have a good long look at the service they're providing as pretty aesthetics alone won't save them. Great toilets though! Cannot recommend in this instance.

Good food but less quantity! Went here for a work brunch, I wouldn’t call my salmon toast brunch worthy quantity. I still liked the food. The taste was good. The ambience is nice as well. The place is fancy. Good decorations, staff are great and ample space in the restaurant.

Nice food here. The interior design is great. Clean toilets. Staff and Bouncers are polite. One nitpick is although the staff are polite one of them had an issue with bringing your drink to the bar when making an order. I don't know what that person was thinking but leaving your drink unattended could be a risk what if you get spiked for example.

The Folly has a cool garden theme interior. It has an evening/night bar feel. The food was delicious. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I can highly recommend the chocolate and cherry sundae. It was fantastic.

Lots of space, busy and fast paced. We rented a room for a small celebration and were well looked after by Rico and other staff who were always on hand for drinks. The food was nice, and served promptly. A good venue for a night out.

A fun environment, bubbly and definitely a place you can have drinks with friends and co-workers with. They offer all day food, from breakfast to diner. It’s huge, two floors. The upside is that there a lot of space and you can meet a lot of people, the downside is the noise. It’s very loud, especially when crowded. Nonetheless it’s absolutely worth checking out.

This is a busy place. However, it's worth it. Tried two different cocktails, and they were both very delicious. The decorations is also very good, and the photos will not do this much justice. The service upon entry you're greeted very nicely. However, the bar service seems to depend on who's tending but a good service overall. The music volume was good enough for you to have a normal conversation. Will revise as I'd like to try the food and view the downstairs area.

Good City atmosphere and kind staff. Coming from Brick Lane in the early evening (it is a short walk) you can swap to more conventional dressing fashion among the clients. The terrace is quite well located with partial views to “The Monument”, dedicated to the victims of the fire that ravaged London sometime ago. We ordered on line, scanning the code on the table, and were served quite fast. Alcohol free beer available.

Passionfruit lemonade is delicious! very tart so beware but it is so refreshing! The decor is very relaxing; love the nature/hoho designs. Lots of table options. The restroom is also beautiful🤩 I had the grilled mushroom toast. It was cooked just right; juicy mushroom, toasted bread(non-wheat), melted salty cheese. Yummy. Great place to meet friends for a chat.

I had a reservation for the three course Christmas menu for £59.50+ service charge, I had butternut squash soup, turkey and cheesecake. The deal also included a welcome glass of Prosecco and half a bottle of wine (red or white). I enjoyed the restaurant and atmosphere however the food wasn’t up-to par, very disappointingly tasteless soup, turkey and hard roast potatoes. Great place for group dinners and basement floor is like a nightclub playing loud music with dance floor space.

Absolutely fantastic time, kicking off the evening, celebrating a special birthday. Food, cocktails, the venue and the staff were amazing. We had, "Richy," (that's not his name because unfortunately I had forgotten, by early hours on Sunday morning). A south Asian guy, who was very attentive and proficient. We were greeted at the door by the front of house team and we were allocated to our table. I wasn't keen on our first table because it wasn't what I had requested. The hostess was prompt to move us, without any fuss and accommodate, what I had written on the booking form. She apologised as she did not read the notes. Perfect table location- left corner of the main entrance, with its own coat stand. A minor detail as from there on, the whole evening was successful. Fast efficient service for the food and drinks, ordered. Absolutely love their French martini's as the mixologist nailed it. The steaks that the girls ordered, was a bit on the small side! Quote: "Where's the other half!" Lol My Baby Clam Vongole, was very tasty and I like extra chilie flakes in my dish. I love the open plan kitchen, as I like to have a peak at the restaurants, standards and procedures. On a busy night, The Folly team, were composed and professional. The venue was clean and the decor is appealing to the eye with the correct balance of ambiance, lighting and botanical greenery. It's a lively, classy place and not pretentious, as we can't do, "boring," on a birthday. If you're after soft, conversational time, this isn't the establishment for you, on a Saturday night sitting. The ladies rest room is another part to visit as it's on par with a 4 + star, hotel lavatories. We would definitely be using this venue again and we'll also be sampling the restaurant, during their lunchtime service. I would recommend, business lunches to congragate here, as well as casual dining, included on a day out. The prices are correct, for this quality establishment. If we didn't have other, after dinner plans, we would of stayed longer. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I actually prefer this venue, over The Refinery at Regent's Place which is one of Drake and Morgan restaurant's. Five stars all the way! 👌🏼

There is no better place yo eat out in the city than The Folly!! The atmosphere was amazing. Inside design is inspiring and very cosy. I would definitely recommend trying the chicken with polenta and seabass! Literally never ate it in that form. Our waitress was Sabina, really helpful and friendly lady. Made a difference to our visit.

A lovely venue for not watching sport. Unfortunately they advertised as being a venue to watch the rugby game and hadn't quite thought it through. We were asked to pre book food and drinks with our table (3 figure bill) and then a party of about 50 people came in and they placed them right next to the screen. They of course were having a lovely time (as they should, as they had also probably been asked to secure a decent deposit), however as you can see from the picture, even when moving our table it became very hard to see the big screen. I would suggest when people are booking the venue they check whether they're interested in watching the rugby and seat accordingly. There was a perfect area away from the rugby that the party could have been accommodated in. All in all a slightly disappointing experience.

For lunch, I had Fish Pie, which was delicious, with plenty of seafood and fish, and mashed potatoes that were creamy, smooth, and tender. I was eating fish pie and enjoying every bite (euphoria) I highly recommend trying it because the presentation of the dish was outstanding. I also had dessert pistachio cake with raspberry layer between cake, which was a very nice not-too-sweet combination with ice cream scoops. Also, I'd like to mention that everyone was very friendly, smiling, and had good intentions with your guests, especially the waitress girl from Poland and the chef from Bangladesh, who made my experience unforgettable. Women's restrooms/toilets are clean, spacious, have lovely decorations, good lighting, and even a corner to tidy up your makeup (complimentary candy). Thank you for taking women's comfort seriously and going above and beyond. Overall, the price range is typical for London, and it is affordable given the nearby tourist attractions. I definitely returned with my friend during the weekday. (I added The Folly to my list of favourite London casual and style restaurants.) Thank you.

We had an amazing experience. The service was professional. The food was delightful, and the ambiance created a stunning and relaxed atmosphere. A special shout-out to A.J, he had a welcoming smile and made us feel at home. His professionalism and charm added a special touch to our experience. We can't wait to come back soon!

The Folly was a good experience, but not one I'd say was exceptional. There was nothing to complain about, but for what I got, there are several other places that do it better. I had calamari to start and steak frites for my main. This was accompanied by a raspberry mojito. The calamari was cooked and seasoned well, and of course the lime adds a needed bit of zest. The steak was cooked medium as requested but I didn't find it had much flavor. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was bland, but it also wasn't impressive. Very standard cut of meat. The mojito was as expected. Overall, a satisfactory meal, but if someone wanted these specific food items for dinner, I must say I wouldn't send them to The Folly. I will say however that our servers were excellent. Polite, attentive and just overall pleasant. Highlight of the evening.

Amazing Christmas Atmosphere and the team squeezed us in a lovely table next to the tree. I had the Turkey Lunch and my colleague had the cornish cod, it was fabulous. And PROPER tea in a pot with a strainer. The buzz is palpable, it really is a place to celebrate.

I had a pleasant experience with the atmosphere and service at the restaurant. However, I felt that the food did not meet my expectations. Nonetheless, I decided to try their Cosmos Cocktails and was pleasantly surprised by The Saturn and The Neptune cocktails which I absolutely loved! Despite the food not being up to my standards, I would recommend this place for its great cocktails and nice ambience.

Food was amazing. I love great food and this place has it. Our wait Thomas was a gem and all of his suggestions turned out delicious! Warmly recommend the Fish and Chips (i didn't like it up until tasting it here!) And the Sticky Toffee Pudding. O.M.G. All of it. The environment is beautiful and great bustling energy, however the noise level is quite high. Fully recommend this!

Loved this place. Best find on out London trip. The place is lovely: comfy seating, looks appealing, fabulous toilets Lades - dressed well for Christmas too. I had the duck share platter, which was a good size for my mine, it was amazing! Best duck dish I’ve ever had. My partner had the chicken curry which was unfortunately bland, hot but not much flavour. We would come again though. The atmosphere was great, descent prices but won’t have the curry again. A perfect chance find and being able to book online was helpful. Our waitress, Reshma, was lovely too.

We visited this place today, and our first impression was good, but then the circus began. They gave us the menu, and my friend and I liked the deal, a meal and a cocktail for £15. She chose squash soup, and I asked for fish pie. By the way, it was also in the regular menu for a different price (about £17, without a drink). When I ordered, the waiter said that it was not available for the deal, and said that there was exactly the same one in the regular menu, but without the deal. So I ordered schnitzel (it was also included in the deal). I also asked for water, which was on all the tables except ours. She took the order and left. Seven minutes later she came back and said that they ran out of schnitzel too. I immediately ordered a pie with chicken and mushrooms. She said “it’s not on the discount”, which I didn’t mind. She brought the cocktails, I asked for water again, because I was very thirsty. A couple of minutes later she brought water, poured me and my friend a quarter of a glass, took the carafe with water and left. We waited for the order for 32 minutes. My friend liked the soup, my pie was not bad, the mash was not very tasty, and the gravy was bland. In the end, my friend paid for the meal and Aperol £16, and I paid for the meal and Aperol £33. It’s not a lot, but the “lack of schnitzel and fish pie”, which supposedly exist, but for a different price, seems like a rip-off. This place is not worth your visit. If you need to increase the average check, do it so good, so customers would want to come back to this place, not to avoid it. Don’t make deals that don’t exist. You are destroying the connection with your customers, by loosing their trust. We only stayed because my friend was very hungry. We won’t be back.

Wonderful food and cocktails. My partner had the full English with berry smoothie and I have the avocado , poached eggs on sourdough toast with the Lavender Fields no-alcohol cocktail. All was great, fresh and delicious. Lovely environment.

The place is nice with lots of sitting space. The decor is modern and the atmosphere is vibrant. I went in for a small group lunch and there were lots of people but the service was still very fast. The food was average. The crispy duck salad was nice and just enough but the buttermilk chicken burger was overcooked. Deserts were great tho and the coffee was better than the average coffee you can get at a pub the price tag was not cheap.

  • 3/5 Justan K. 11 months ago on Google
Very busy pub. Very loud, service was good although staff didn't know the price if some items. Food was okay, fish pie was small and bland, lacking fish. Fish & chips was enjoyed by wife. Cider was nice & easy to drink.

What an amazing place to eat and have a drink with your friends. We had the salmon and fish pie - unbelievably delicious! They also offer a nice yoice of tapped and bottled beer as well as selcted wines. We were so grateful to get a seat as we didn't want to miss out this restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic! See for yourselves!

This is our 4th visit to The Folly and again it was spot on. We both had the poached eggs on muffins one with smoked salmon and one with ham, eggs were cooked to perfection and just enough sauce to not make it to rich. The 2 bloody Mary’s I had set me hangover to rest.

Interesting bar and restaurant which appears to cater for City folk. It is a large establishment spread over two floors with several long bars. The staff were friendly and efficient however I imagine it can be very busy due too its popularity and the large number of patrons. Lots of tables are available. too. Great place to meet friends and colleagues after work.

Went on a whim one early evening with some friends. Was shown to the bar downstairs and ended up staying until closing. Probably one of the best nights I've had in the last few years. Staff, great. Service, great. DJ, 100 % on point. Will definitely return when I can gather a group again

The Folly is such a lovely venue - beautifully done and glamorous. The staff were all lovely, the food was delicious, the cocktails were great and it was good value. The only issue for my friend and I was how crowded it was inside. We thought that it would be quieter on a Wednesday at 7:30, but nope! The tables were all close together (to the point where the girl on the next table kept flipping her hair and hitting my friend with it) and almost every table was full when we got there. I know that social distancing has ended and that masks are now optional, but it genuinely made us feel a little anxious given that Covid is still spreading. I think it may be a while before I'm back, but I definitely would be back at some point.

Burger was ok-ish and took some time for the drinks to get here but overall a really nice place. Went here for drag brunch which was amazing with great performances. If we would have known of the service tip afterwards and the waiting time of over 40 min upon arrival before you get your first drink, it could have been 5 stars. The 4 were mostly earned for the entertainment even though the staff was constantly super busy it felt it was really chaotic in the beginning.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience and service from the team at the Folly, we hosted our first community event for 2022 here and it was effortless to organise with the great help from the team. The area they gave us was ideal and the service was great all night. Great location, beautiful venue and great vibe whether looking for an event space or just a meal with friends or family. Will be back again!

Very nice veggie brunch and veggie burger except for the baked beans that lower the quality of the whole meal. The juices could be fresh instead of carton’s kind.

This a combination of bar and restaurant located in central London. About 3 minutes walk from Monument tube station and sky garden. About 5 minutes walk from Garden at 120 and 8 minutes from the Gherkin building. Friendly and helpful staff. Food style is western cuisine. Lovely decor with pleasant ambience. What I’m not quite sure about is the animal skin rugs. A 12.5% service charge is added to the total bill which is common in many restaurants in central London. My friend and I enjoyed the food and shall be visiting again.

My and my wife were looking for a last minute restaurant to enjoy our diner anniversary. Despite the fact that they were fully booked, we decided to try our luck somewhere else. A nice gentleman called Alex, wearing a black hat has send us to the bar to have a drink, not longer after, we have been offered a table and 2 glasses of bubbles to start with.My wife couldn’t be more happy that he helped us enjoying our 25th anniversary. We very much thank you Alex for taking good care of us. We will be back soon. Totally recommend this venue

A business lunch for a carnivore, veggie and vegan can be a bit hit and miss, even in London, so the place of choice was The Folly. Having eaten and enjoyed the vegan food here a couple of years back, it was time to see if they’re consistent and in a word … Yes With a beer some table water and a menu each chose pretty quickly as it’s not a crammed menu but a very good selection meaning you can narrow it down to a couple of choices quickly. I’ll focus only on the vegan options. Of the 9 ‘nibbles’ and ‘to share’ options there was only 1 vegan option … until we asked for the ‘Napoli Flatbread’ with vegan cheese. It was a great nibble for 3 of us. The flatbread was loaded with fresh rocket, red onion, sun-dried tomatoes and vegan cheese. So mush so that what fell off the top needed a fork. Fresh, tasty and worth it. Of the 9 starters 3 are vegan and while we didn’t have any this visit I have tried 2 of them before - the tempura samphire was a delicious chimichurri with alioli, the vegan shrimp lollipops with a sweet chilli and soy really played with your mind as they’re like the real thing. 2 of the 3 salads, 3 of the 11 mains and 1 of the 5 burgers was vegan Opting for a main of ‘Malai Kofta Curry’ it wasn’t impressive to look at and could have been a “Wetherspoons Curry” and to a degree the rice and naan were the same, but that’s where any similarity ends. The curry tasted really good. It was creamy and the vegan kofta gave it a great texture. There is also 1 vegan dessert. With a couple of beers it was as good as before. Would I go again. Yes and I will. Would I recommend. Yes.

Went for the West End Drag brunch and from start to finish we were kept entertained. Great brunch menu choices with free-flow that didn’t stop by very attentive staff. From start to finish it was like one big love fest. The host kept everyone entertained. The drag girls looked amazing and moved through the crowd so well. Normally for these type of events the food can be second rate, but surprisingly it was also good. Its a monthly event that i would Definately recommend .

Decent bar and restaurant with an extensive wine and cocktail menu, including non-alcoholic options. A bit pricey for what it is but probably due to being located in a prime location. We stopped to rest and have a quick non-alcoholic drink and water to rehydrate after walking along Southbank. We also ordered the haloumi cheese sticks which were pretty good. They have free wifi with a nice ambiance; staff are relaxed and friendly.

Perfect location to suck you in but the food is poor! We asked for a table of four without booking and was given the last one. Perfect. Smiles all round with great service, brilliant. Drinks served quickly. Great! Food came and what a DISASTER this was. Calamari was soft and greasy. Croque Madame was £14 and no better than a cafe cheese and ham toasties with an overcooked egg on top. Gross. Cutlery was dirty too. Crispy duck salad looked beautifull and was mostly nice but... damn, there was so much chilli in it, it was over powered. And with too much hoisin sauce was too sweet. The bill for four was over £120 and not worth it.

Loved the Sunday Roast! The beef was done perfectly in a medium rare fashion that I love. Soft and succulent. Cocktails and atmosphere were refreshing. Nonetheless, downside is that they failed to tell us early on that they ran out of sheperd's pie despite my friend informing the waitress early on that she is vegan. Quite limited vegan options as well for our plant-eater friends. Lastly, our waitress doesn't seem to know menu much, couldn't give much recommendations when given 2 options and didn't know one I was ordering was a mocktail and told me every drink had alcohol.

This is the second time I have visited and I continue to enjoy the dining experience. Good atmosphere - not noisy - and sensible clientele. Staff are attentive and friendly. I had the pea tortellini - there was a real freshness and sweetness to the dish. Can also recommend the field of fizz if you are after a non-alcoholic beverage. For drinks, main and dessert for two the bill came to £70. A 12.5% service is added. Highly recommend a visit.

A little pricy, but the food and atmosphere are both great! The fish and chips was delicious, with big flakes of salt on the outside. We also ordered a pudding dessert that was just so-so. The inside is really beautiful with lots of different patterns and pillows.

A top restaurant, with a wonderful atmosphere, with very nice waitresses, especially Talia, who is attentive and always with a smile. I was in London for a few days and because it was so nice in this restaurant the first time, I visited it three times in a few days. Thank you for the pleasant time there. Worth a visit, I can only recommend it to everyone. Good luck for the future to the entire team.
