Such an awesome venue upstairs to watch live music. Not to bad downstairs either. Very good selection of beers on tap. Good atmosphere and looking forward to going back 👍

Absolutely banging food, we had the nachos with guacamole, tacos (amazing), and loaded fries, all just delicious! The decor is a bit 🇺🇸 leaning with a lot of London pub charm, it's cosy. The upstairs gig space is also great, had a lovely time with dinner, drinks and music!

I visited The Lexington for a gig & found the staff friendly & beer top quality (for London) It is convenient to Angel tube. As for the gig room above the pub. It was smaller than anticipated, maybe 200+ cap. Sound was spot on & easy to get a great viewing spot. Loved my time there.

Nice little bar with live music venue upstairs. There were no bands playing when we were there but good to know it's in a separate area. Started to get busy around 10 and has a distinctly "Indie" vibe to it. Good selection of beers and spirits behind the bar too.

Watched the amazing and underrated music artist Jessica Winter! The venue is beautiful and not too big. Drink prices are good and toilets upstairs as well as downstairs. Very much recommended for music gig lovers!

Very friendly and helpful manager, security, bar staff, cloakroom and sound engineer, which have made seeing a band (Joanne Joanne) and putting on a gig here a few days later a pleasure. Bar and live room are air conditioned. Bar is redneck themed with loads of American spirits, beers and food. Manager up for bands putting their own nights on on Sundays. PA is good and sound engineer we had was knowledgeable, patient and had a good sense of humour.

Great place for a boogie! Usually upstairs it fantastic. However, I don’t think charging £8 is reasonable for what you get. Service is always really good though!

This review is for the performance space upstairs. I've been to concerts at Lexington and recommend the intimate yet functional space for garage bands and similar. The bar in the back kind of dominates the space, but that isn't a bad thing. No matter where you stand, you'll be close to the band and the bar ;-) Thumbs up for Lexington upstairs. Regarding food ... no idea. I've only had drinks here.

Woah I used to go here ages ago and it honestly hasn’t changed a bit. Proper whiskey bar and one of the main places I would recommend to visit in the capital. I rehappened upon it and then returned later in the day

This used to be a great venue, a reliable stop both for late night and early evening. I just arrived an hour before closing and my friends and I were turned away for no reason, with an overly aggressive bouncer yelling in our face. We won't be returning and don't recommend.

Nice little venue. Not been here before. Went with an old chum - let's call him Funcey, although his actual name is Joe - to see Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs. No, that's not me stuttering or accidentally leaving my finger on the 'paste' button having previously copied the word 'Pigs'. No - that's the band's actual name! They played their brand of stoner rock so well that at the end of the gig both Funcey's and my ears were bleeding! We both saw each other's bleeding ears at the same time and both said together, "You too!" Jinx!

Great pub with a music venue / club above it. The pub has a good range of hand drawn and tap draft beers. A relatively small menu but good food. The music room upstairs is a good size and shape - nicely square - with a raised area at the back. Great atmosphere for the band we saw - The Lathums.

Great bar and nightclub for anyone looking for 80s music such as new wave and shoe-gaze. It isn’t insanely loud and impersonal, it still retains a bar-like intimacy despite being a nightclub. recommend this place also because the staff are very friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was the upstairs part of the bar, the nightclub, where you have to pay to get in and it’s not as intimate as the ground floor.

Went to see the mighty Billy Childish for a matinee performance. Great old boozer with tasty pizza and an ethereal atmosphere. Good to see there are still some venues which are ambient and alluring as this fine establishment.

My favourite spot in London, always have a great time here, the music is great both downstairs and upstairs in the club room, and they have a great selection of bands and artists performing too. Drinks are a little pricey but as it’s an independent venue you don’t mind so much, and the black discount card helps! The staff are all really friendly (and beautiful!), as are the patrons, it’s easy to chat to people in there and always make friends as it’s a great crowd. Plus it’s open late every night of the week! Can’t recommend it enough!

Went there to see Skating Polly. Lovely, intimate concert venue. High Victorian pub downstairs, with slightly but not uncomfortably so aloof staff. Upstairs a dark room really, holding about 200-300 people (guesstimate this).

Cannot underline what people say about the bouncer. You just hear the echo. He makes sure people come in which suits today''s customers. Been there there times in a row, no issues. The staff goes out of its way to recommend some drinks you may like. They leave you alone if you are clearly signalling you just want to have a drink and be left alone. They could easily pour drinks in the Raffles in Singapore with this Level of attention and attitude. Thank you for the pleasant stay in London.

A great eclectic pub on Pentonville road. High ceiling, all sorts of strange furniture and ornamental silliness. Wonderful. The staff are lovely and welcoming, the beer tastes good, only keg on today but pumps are there for four cask ales. Also, open till 04.00 tomorrow, clearly the way forward! Thanks for a lovely pint.

Great vibes. Lively downstairs and then onto the dancefloor upstairs (£8 on a Friday night). Really enjoyed it. There was a little end of night aggro but staff were able to de-escalate things pretty quickly.

Popped in for a pint on a week day, not many customers so I had a good chance to enjoy the decor. Cool old fashioned pub with good beer selection. I can imagine it is a great place to watch a gig

Stage and dance floor upstairs and plenty of sitting and standing room downstairs. Also a bar on both floors. It's a grimy local with a rustic/punk feel. Good for people of any ages. Drinks were reasonably priced and although it was packed, it was never more than a couple of minutes to get served (maybe just because I'm good looking) Either way I loved it did a good 200 quid just on myself, my mate left with some bird.

Nice, staff & good music playing in bar. Toilets are awful. Atmosphere oscillates in the bar but they have good gigs on a lot and it's open late. Pints are expensive as to be expected for area.

Great old traditional high-ceiling pub with inviting decor and period features. Reasonable downstairs seating including some big leather chairs. Decent beer selection, friendly efficient service. Prices not too crazy for the area. Not tried any food, but hot bar snacks were in evidence, also at reasonable prices. Go upstairs and you have an amazing intimate events area legendary for it's live music - a springboard for both up and coming acts and veteran sloggers alike, with affordable ticket prices. If I lived locally, I'd probably be down here every week!

Incredible selection of Bourbon whiskey, they even have multiple years of some whiskey so if your pockets run deep enough you could compare by year. The food was decent, I believe it's a rotating pop up within the kitchen at the time of review there was a Greek menu. They bands play and show sport so you're covered for any occasion, it's also open til 4am on Saturday! Definitely recommend

Fun bar with good rock music and a lively crowd. Drinks are fairly priced so a great place to enjoy with friends.

Great bar with a huge range of American whiskey. Now doing Greek food. Good music and sometimes live music upstairs. One of my favourite London bars.

The music venue is upstairs, good acoustics I think as it sounded amazing, you can see the stage pretty well from everywhere and it's quite intimate, but with plenty of space to breathe even when sold out, the ceiling is not too low, I think that's the reason. There are some pillars but they are not a problem to see round. The bar downstairs has a proper London pub feel but when you actually look at the decor it's quite quirky and surprising. There is a good choice of beers and a huge range of whiskies and the staff were all great. I didn't have food so have given five stars for that too as no option to skip. Being so close to Kings Cross it's v easy to get to, I think we'll be in there quite a bit now we've found it. Highly recommended.

Closes late for London standards, chilled atmosphere with two different styles of music and an OK sized upstairs dancefloor. The djs in the ground floor pub are always spot on with 60s-80s tunes. Staff is polite and reasonable, prices are reasonable.

AMAZING vibes. A very tasty Mexican menu that is the perfect pub sharer. Easy to eat. Quick orders. Great selection of whiskies and all very reasonably priced. The music venue upstairs was awesome. Very focused and intimate space with another bar available.

Most humiliating moment I have ever experienced, the staff were rude and ruined my birthday, denied serving us when we had already bought drinks with no explained reason, asked for three types of ids throughout the time me and my friends were there celebrating a should of been fun night . The woman with the short black hair laughed in our faces and said what am I supposed to do with three types of id including a drivers , passport and university id and said she didn’t believe we were all 18 when we are 18+ tried to take our drinks away and gaslighted my friend into thinking she was insane. We were all celebrating amongst ourselves and not disturbing anyone , I hope no one ever goes to this pub it’s an awful experienced and I am still humiliated from it , I am sure the woman who did this had another motive than the ids awful person I hope she gets fired.

Amazing venue! Great beers and whiskeys, and an upstairs hosting great bands in an intimate space. Highly recommended, a stone's throw from angel tube stop

Came to see the Lathums in the upstairs room. Great little venue, holds a couple of hundred. Bar along the back wall, good views from everywhere despite the low stage. Looking forward to my next visit.

Good pub with a wicked selection. Late night DJ playing classic that you can have a good old boogie too! Would visit again

  • 2/5 Nick B. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful venue, but running the music off a tablet creates jarring 1-second silences whenever anybody texts the bar staff... Food is excellent, although spicy, but every item on the menu except plain (aggressively salted) chips contains corn. If you're allergic you are completely out of luck. Bring back the delicious Greek menu!

Great place to listen to some great music! Ground floor is a normal pub, but upstairs they have a cool night club

  • 5/5 Matteo V. 2 years ago on Google
Great pub with a great selection of whiskeys and beers. The food is really nice too and there’s a venue on the first floor for live gigs. We saw some amazing indie bands over the years and enjoyed our last gig last night. There were 3 great bands playing. The place is definitely recommended.
