🚇 Euston 🍺 £6.80 Heineken ❤️ A Euston Road Stalwart. . Halfway between Euston and Kings Cross/St Pancras stations sits The Rocket pub. The nearest Tube is a split decision, either station is a few minutes walk away. . This Grade II listed pub was built in 1856 and rebuilt in its present form in 1899. The pub started life as The Rising Sun, it was renamed as The Friar & Firkin in 1992 and has been The Rocket since around 1999. . This large pub was refurbished in spring this year to give it a new lease of life. There is a modern contemporary fresh feel here, much has changed since my last visit six years ago. One of the best features of this pub are the beautiful arched windows that flood the main bar with light. Some other original features remain like the back bar which is a thing of beauty. Around the bar are nods to the railways, there are pop art style prints and gauges adorning the walls. . The beer line up was a selection of mainstream keg, a few craft brews plus three cask options. I chose a pint of Heineken, my pint was decent and price point was aimed at passing trade not locals. The food menu is extensive, there are British Classics, lots of comfort food options and mix & match Tapas. We thought we would try out the Tapas 5 for £21 deal, the portions were hearty, the food tasted great and reasonably priced too. . We visited early on a June evening around 7pm. The pub was fairly busy with passing punters plus a few in to watch the Norway v Scotland game. The service was good , we didn’t have to wait long to be served at the bar and to receive our food at the table. The pub shows live premiere league and champions league football and hosts DJ nights throughout the month. . It was good to see this grand pub reinvigorated and get a fresh makeover. This is a good spot for pre-train home drinks, a bit of grub and watching the footy. @therocketpub is well worth a look if you’re in the area. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 17.06.23

One of the few pubs in the area open until a semi-reasonable hour (I do not understand licensing in London). They have Hazy Jane on tap which is a win, and the rest of the drinks offerings are decent. It's a big space so you'll probably be able to get a seat. There's also some outdoor seating.

Early for a business meeting so I stop for a quick breakfast bite. Fast, clean and friendly. Food was reasonably priced, properly cooked and presented, excellent breakfast!

The Rocket felt a bit average on food, drinks, service speed, and cleanliness. Nothing was glaringly wrong but nor was any of it amazing.

Meh. Bread was hard but unsure why it was there in the first place. All felt microwaved, some parts luke warm and tasted like an ok microwave meal. Prawns were freshly fried but not great quality which is fine, I wasn't expecting gourmet. The person beside us left a lot of their fish and chips. Wine good. I went a while ago after hours and the nibbles and drinks were good so went for a work lunch. I don't know what happened. Drinks were good. Waitress super nice but I can understand why it was practically empty at lunch in such a high traffic area.

We ended our tourist journey in London with the best SUPER Irish breakfast and delicious French toast, and american coffee! It was in the late morning, it was pretty quiet, we had a great spot to enjoy our last breakfast with good service, friendly staff and we relaxed before taking our train back home. I highly recommend this place for breakfast meals, good price and the atmosphere.

Was late at night when we visited so food wasn't an option. It's a very nice safe place to drink but the service was a little slow and lacking, when we arrived the barman was far too busy speaking with his girlfriend rather than serving, we politely asked for service to be told he'll be a minute.. not the best first impression, after that everyone was really nice and pleasant.

Rocket was incredibly crowded but Natasha found us seats for dinner. Very good food, steak pie and fish and chips, nice condiments, and good service. Tremendous (but loud) atmosphere and friendly patrons. We will be back!

Lovely pub warm, welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. The food was good, although some veg wasn't great at all, Natasha dealt with it in a timely and friendly manner. I enjoy visiting London and will use The Rocket again

Was here for dinner, took quite long for the food to arrive. We ordered chargrilled but the chicken was a bit burnt and taste buttery. Overall average food.

Went to this place to have some cocktails. Half of the menu was unavailable. The cocktails we ordered took a long while to arrive. The servers were apologetic. The cocktails were very watered down. Don't know if it was because of the fact that they were offering 2 for 11. The place is centrally located though and has great food deals.

Where to begin… You can order online via QR code but then it wouldn’t accept my card. Fine, I go to the counter to order. 5 minutes later someone finally approaches to serve. Takes 5 minutes to order as they have no idea what’s on the menu. Paid - all good. My wine - the one I order is out. Fine, I’ll have another. I’m curious to see what takes so long and can see the cork being butchered so I go over and open the bottle for him. I’m ok with this too. It happens. Get poured a beer sized wine to the rim of the glass. Water glasses are dirty and the wine glass needs a wash before serving me. Food was less than average. I regret stepping foot in here.

Called in on the way from St Pancras to Euston. Very friendly, good range of drinks and we tool advantage of the Lunch and Drink deal. Excellent value. My gammon was succulent and the pineapple wedge was perfectly charred. My partner enjoyed the sausage and mash. Natasha was particularly friendly and engaging.

I always enjoy visiting this place in the morning. For a tourist like I am, ordering with a QR code is just way too easy. You get your drink, you get your meal and that is that. The food is delicious and simple.

Big screens for today's Six Nations Rugby. Nice atmosphere. Friendly and courteous staff. I didn't have food, although what I saw looked nice. Guinness was a nice creamy pint. It was not as expensive as some London venues, considering it's location. I will visit again when I'm in the area.

Lovely big full Irish breakfast that really set us up for the day. Great value too. Staff were so lovely and welcoming. Very big place with many different seating options from booths to raised seating areas. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Came in for a quick bite to eat and we were greeted by 80s non stop bangers. Ordered some food and Natasha (the loveliest waitress) served us some great food! 100% recommend for a quick drink or bite to eat!

Would not recommend whatsoever to someone with allergies. After working with Natasha to figure out what menu item would be best for me, I was told multiple times that the chef refused to make my chips (which contained none of my allergens) due to the fact that the fryer could cross contaminate. I was very aware of this, having worked in a restaurant before and very frequently done so before, and said that I would be fine eating the chips. After being told by Natasha multiple times that the chef was refusing, I decided to order online to try and avoid this problem. I ordered chips because I knew I would be alright, but when my food came out there were none. Thankfully Natasha managed to get my chips delivered, and I ate them all without any problems, but I am still very upset at this entire ordeal as it took over 15 minutes to even order my food, and when it came out I was extremely disappointed. I know my own allergies way better than any chef could, and I assured the staff that I would be fine with cross contamination in a fryer. To think that any chef would try and override my own decisions and acceptance of the allergy risk (when there was none!) is ridiculous to me, and I am very upset that this entire ordeal happened. Had I not finally received my chips I surely would have asked for my money back, as it was what I ordered and to think that the chef knew that I had paid money and still not given me what I ordered is unacceptable. I was not in any way trying to be high maintenance, but to think that the menu was so accepting and suggestive of allergy-friendly options, and had a chef that wouldn’t even adhere to that, is ridiculous. Natasha, who was very helpful, even admitted that I was being treated unfairly, and I completely agree. Unacceptable, and the chef should have

I was only in there for a quick pint before getting the train from Euston. Handily placed between there and kings cross which was where my colleague was heading to. Pint was served well, good beer. The pub had the standard weirdo who chatted to everyone, but to be honest I'd missed that during lockdown

Busy pub, great range of beers plus.other regular drinks. Good food menu but the service can be slow.. the excuse, short of staff just like so many other hospitality sector outlets

The only good thing about this pub is the fact that the main chef is a decent cook. Our meals took over 45 minutes to arrive but when they did arrive the food was exceptional. Shout out to Natasha who was running the bar alone even tho stephan was standing doing nothing
