Good food, I recommend the Ploughman’s Lunch. We are American and this was our first time to London and we had never heard of this but a friend had recommended it and I’m glad we followed through. Great service, staff was friendly. The atmosphere was old English pub style with really cool furnishings, especially the chairs!

What a great place so close to Big Ben. Although the place was full, they were very accommodating to find a seats as quickly as possible. The staff was great. Even on a very busy day. The food was outstanding, however, be aware that we just had the fish and chips.

One of our favorite spots in London—we have been coming here for years on every trip to London. Really great drinks and cozy atmosphere. Also enjoyed the Fish and Chips. Really good service as well.

We have eat at the Clarence the 3 of jennuary it was wonderfull great food kind service at upper level. And.so we decided to come back for another dinner. So we go back again the 5th but was absolutelly horrible situation an ugly and very unpleasant woman in rude way kik us from the Clarence. saying they don't want kids in the club and that the upstairs was closed. really rude. the next pub under the same ownership, the old shades, welcomed us kindly. I suggest sacking such a waitress or avoiding the pub when you see this woman. Yesterday I had tryed to call in 2 different moment but only a recording voice ask me to use number 1 or 2 to talk but just ring nobody answer me.

The fish and chips were amazing. I never got interested in trying fish and chips in 3 years since I'm in London, but when I noticed the fish appearance I had to try it. The fish itself has fantastic flavour and the batter complements it flawlessly. It's tasty and it was not soaked in oil. The dish is well portioned. It has the right amount of chips, fish and dips. I was happy and I felt I did not commit an assault to my stomach as it's usual when I eat fried stuff. The place is also cozy. The gentleman who served us was caring, patient and kind. I'll make sure to come again

We visited here the first week of January 2022. Lovely chilly day and perfect for a mid day pint before Trafalgar Square. I had a really nice mulled wine. The atmosphere was nice, the bathroom was clean, the staff was lovely.

Good pub in a busy area of London. Prices are expensive but as you'd expect for the area. Booking to ensure a table after 6pm is a must. Good selection of beers.

Recently held a work event in their upstairs Bulldog bar, and it couldn't have been better. The staff were incredibly helpful, polite and kind, even though we were late paying the...Comfortable, laid-back pub with lots of natural light...Fantastic place for an event...love it

Good pub in fantastic location. On the corner of Great Scotland Yard, Whitehall and just a few yards from Trafalgar Square. Food and drink are very good in here.

The best fish & chips I've ever had! Situated close to the main sightseeing locations with attentive service, great atmosphere and beer. I cannot eat dairy products, but they were very professional about it and prepared dairy-free version for me.

Fantastic & Beautiful London Boozer, I / we have not been in until now since the refurbishment. And once again it did not disappoint. Always such a warm and friendly welcome from the moment you step in the door. And they always remember us each time we visit. Although it is a very busy central London pub , they make time to talk to the guests and find out what they are doing on their visit to London. Always a great selection of food and drink. WE normally have burgers and fish & chips Cant go wrong!)cant wait to come back soon. Also love the fact that is a dog friendly pub in the main bar area ! cant wait to be back , see you soon. Thank you to Kim and her team ,x

We booked here for lunch after the Remembrance Day service. It was extremely busy but they saw us to our table and the service was brilliant. My roast chicken was tasty but sadly very dry and the carrots a little too hard for my liking but everything else was lovely. My husband loved the veggie burger.

The fish and chips were very fresh and tasty. The mushy peas tasted canned but the fish made up for it. The beet salad was also very good. The location is great and the staff was very friendly and helpful!

I absolutely love this restaurant. It's always a pleasant stay when I'm in London. The food is delicious, the service is very kind and considerate and the restaurant itself is so cozy and comfy. Can't wait for my next visit!

Vlad and Steven were fantastic. We just landed from the US and Vlad and Steven made the experience a total success. They were friendly and accommodating and my 15 year old daughter is asking to go back tomorrow because the food was delicious. Thank you Vlad and Steven for a wonderful time at the Clarence. I will highly recommend and ask everyone to work with them because they were great. Cheers!

Great fish and chips, and tasty choice of cider. If the ground floor is full, they have rooms upstairs (make sure to ask if you want food as one side only was serving drinks). I would definitely spend more time here next time I'm in town!

We had our Christmas party for 52 people at a private dinning room. The venue staff were very accomodating, friendly and attentive. We made a number of last minute changes to the menu choices that were dealt with swiftly and easily. We were very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. WE would defintely come back and recommend the Clarence to anyone.

The perfect pub! Beautiful decor, dog friendly, wonderful staff and amazing food! We live just around the corner and regret not coming sooner! Everything we ate today was absolutely delicious and we are already looking forward to returning! Roast was easily the best in london! 10/10

Lovely staff. Even with a small menu, half the items were running out while ordering (chicken roast, desserts), had to default to other meals. Roast beef was not impressive for the price; meat was not tender, hard to cut, badly cooked. Lovely location and decoration. Good moment and experience overall but not good value for money.

A good selection of IPAs here, along with Winter warmer made this a pleasant experience although at around £5.40 a pint not cheap!

Visited last weekend, for quick drink and some food , this turned into 4 hours!! Lovely place great food, servers/ staff members engaging and made us feel at home, no pressure to leave even with half the navy there!! Would recommend a visit.

Great pub with pleasant helpful staff. Expensive but worth it in Whitehall.........an amazing part of London! Beautiful Gin spritzers.....Best in town! They pour a good Guinness too.

Busy vibrant atmosphere (Friday, early evening). Perfectly situated for those enjoying the Sights in London or staying in one of the many hotels around Trafalgar Square (4 minutes walk from Parliament or Trafalgar Square). A good pint and plenty of choice, food also available at certain times I believe.

I had a great meal here. I had Wild boar sausages and mash. This meal was a fresh twist on the British classic mash and bangers. The food was great, and the customer service was great especially from this friendly girl named Barbara.

I don’t often review pubs but I had to say something about the Clarence and their staff. So friendly! On a busy Saturday they accommodated us with our dog and a pram. Very cute and cozy atmosphere!

Nice and cosy place. My first pub visit in UK. Had a good first experience here. Staff is helpful. Location is central. Drink variaties are overwhelming. Camden Hell lager is what we have tried and really liked it.

Below average fish and chips, pricey drinks and most importantly very rude service. Will definitely not return. Not recommended at all. We didn't have a good time here during our visit.

This pub, right here? The Clarence!? Mr Seedorf himself would approve! The ambience? Electric! The soundtrack? Eclectic! The team? Eccentric! What a fine establishment, run in nothing short of the most exemplary fashion. A gem, a diamond, a pub indeed. Well done.

The Sunday Roasts were wonderful and well priced despite the location. Service was good and when mentioned that the air conditioner was too cold the waiter offered to turn it off. Absolutely great experience and would return.

We had an enjoyable fish and chips here after sightseeing around the Parliment. The service was efficient and friendly and the beer selection was varied enough to make anyone happy.

Food is great, best onion rings I’ve ever had! Lady that served us was also lovely (blonde lady). Dog friendly which is great as we came into London for the day with our two German Shepherds. This pub was a highlight in our day! Thank you!!!

It can be a risk doing a walk in looking for a good roast in London but we were honestly delighted we came across the Clarence. Steven was fantastic from start to finish I didn’t see him without a smile on his face the entire time we were here and the roast itself was delish. highly recommend!

Maria and Miro were AMAZING. It was super busy (winter run) and they could not have been helpful with keeping us up to date with our order. Amazing people. Hold onto them.
