The beer is still excellent don't get me wrong. Still my favourite pub in central London. Been coming here for years and not too long ago, 5 years ago, a pint was £ 2.95 now it's £4.70!!! I can't blame them but it was an oasis. Still a good price for London and the beer is Quality!!!!! Thank you for many nice memories.

The good thing is the location. The food was what you expect from a Sam Smiths bar - not great, not bad. The decor is brilliant though!

Downstairs was thriving at 7 pm on a Thursday night. They serve drinks only. A decent choice for pub food is served upstairs. Bangers and mash, fish n chips, different combinations of burgers etc. My fish n chips was about £13.50. Good relaxing ambiance.

I’m a massive pub lover. No idea to how many I’ve been to but too many. This one has all the things that I like, cozy seatings, good beers, good prices, friendly atmosphere and finger food to eat while drinking. Nothing can go wrong here.

Really pleasantly surprised by The Chandos. Busy Sam Smiths pub right by Trafalgar Square. Drink very reasonably priced for this pubs position (pint of cask ale and a pint of lager- £7.80!) along with very reasonably priced food as well, which was lovely. The upstairs section was closed for our visit but when open this would be a very spacious pub. Recommended!

🚇 Charing Cross 🍺 £6.50 Organic Lager ❤️ A Sam Smiths pub full of character and splendour. . The Chandos is located within touching distance of both Leicester and Trafalgar Square. This pub is perched on a corner plot with an elegant stucco frontage which manages to hold its own with its notable architectural neighbour The London Coliseum which is a couple of doors down. I visited here early on a Sunday lunchtime and it was fairly quiet with a few in attendance. I entered the pub, approached the bar and ordered a pint of Organic Lager. Organic lager I here you say, for those who are not aware Sam Smiths pubs only sell their own in house brewed beer which in the main is not to shabby. My beer cost £6.50 which was a bit of a surprise as I visited the Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese a few months ago and the same beer cost just over a fiver, this made me feel that I was in a tourist trap and took a bit of the gloss off. The service here was on point, the bartender who served me was pleasant and attentive. The thing I loved most about this pub is the decor and ambiance. This is a beautiful traditional boozer with amazing stained glass windows, bespoke tiles and rich dark woodwork. The big selling point for me was pub the cosy booths to segregate yourself off from bar area which makes for a more intimate and personable experience. . The Chandos is a beautiful traditional boozer with a sumptuous original interior, the hallmark of a Sam Smiths pub. I was slightly peeved at the price point but if they were charging £6.50 on the door and gave you a free drink I wouldn’t say no. All in all this is a classic London pub which you will thoroughly enjoy. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 13/02/22

Great beer and great food! Staff was friendly, helpful and fast! We had a couple of beers, fish and chips and a chicken burger! All were amazing, specially the fish! Even though most (if not all) people have unlimited data, I enjoyed the fact that there was no WiFi!

Great Samuel smiths Brewery beers available, nice settings and food is lovely , only gripe I had is that I requested changing the mash for chips but got told would need to buy a extra side order if I wanted chips. Petty but annoying 🙄

Awful treatment of a group of 5 blind people by staff in The Chandos. I stopped to help when they were struggling in a busy street in central London, they simply wanted to find a pub to sit and have a drink but all were 100% blind, and obviously events were overwhelming them. The Chandos was closest pub so I led them in, it was 5.30pm and busy however some lovely customers saw the situation and immediately gave up their seats. They sat down, were relieved and I went to bar with 2 of them to get drinks. It was crowded and escorting 2 blind people through a busy bar was challenging due to bags on floor, people standing in way, etc etc but things began to look better when we got drinks and I settled them back in seats. They reassured me they were now fine and I could leave. However things then went infinitely worse when I asked staff to keep an eye on them and help if they wanted another drink but the barman refused and told me “well, you brought them in here but now you want to go home and leave them for us to look after” Awful awful awful. I didn’t want to go home - I was actually just on my way for a night out but had stopped to help a group of distressed and scared disabled people. They couldn’t cross a busy bar by themselves. It would have taken a sighted barperson less than 20 seconds to walk across the pub to take an order, and another 20 second walk to deliver drinks, but the same process for a blind person would have been very difficult. Sam Smiths staff in The Chandos were cruel, uncaring, unprofessional and behaved appallingly. Not a shred of human decency or compassion. Don’t go to The Chandos, and don’t patronise Sam Smiths pubs until they get better staff.

I thought £13.90 was a bit much to pay for a pint of lager and a medium size glass of rose. 5 years ago this pub was the place to go for a reasonably priced drink but no longer the case.

Shocking, I don’t leave reviews often but the drinks were non branded trash pretending to be independent, the chicken burger tasted of dust and the fish smelt of off fish

Came in for a nice pint, but was sadly disappointed. I ordered two different beers, but was given what is clearly two of the same beer. When I brought this up to the bartender, I was rudely told that I was wrong. Furthermore, the beer at the Chandos is more expensive than other Sam Smith’s in London. The Harp around the corner offers a much nicer drinking experience.

Convenient location to have a drink before seeing a show close by. Drinks were warm and flat. Staff not overly friendly. Perhaps because there weren’t many of them.

Doubtless my top 1 place to enjoy a proper beer. They offer a great selection of Samuel Smith at a very competitive price to be placed just in front of the National Gallery and 2 minutes away from Trafalgar Square.

Is one of my fiance's favourite pubs to go to- they offer a range of Samuel Smith beers, ciders and lagers. I myself had the organic cherry beer, and it was delicious! Lovely ambient atmosphere, highly recommend!

Only popped in for a couple of beers (in my case stout and raspberry beer) before attending stand up comedy show. Nice atmosphere and lovely compartments with benches that look like on a train. Lovely toiletries in the loo. Will visit again next time we're in London!

Sam Smiths pub, so all own-brand and relatively cheap for the location. The interior is 'reproduction traditionsl' so lots of wood etc, but nothing original. Gets very full before the theatres open, buy then settles down.

Good pub. Nice service, food was ok, fresh produce. You can also order food on the second floor, downstairs you can only order drinks and bar snacks. The value for money is okay.

We were able to use an upstairs bar. There was plenty of room and easily served by helpful staff. West end prices are always a surprise 😲

Traditional English pub beside Trafalgar Square. It's cool to experience it but it feels dated and dingey, more old-fashioned than old-timey. The beer is nice but a very limited selection. Staff are friendly.

Always love going to Chandos and any Samuel Smith Pub for that matter. Delicious salad (Burrata with Tomato salad) with vegan option, beer is amazing as always and the service friendly and fast! 4 instead of 5 stars as there should be 2 people serving at the bar and the menues are in desperate need of a wet wipe 🥴

Go somewhere else. Bar horrendously understaffed with just two people working the bar for a busy London pub. Was waiting 10 minutes to get served. Finally when it came my turn the young bald server who had been there two days asked who’s next and I put my hand up which he acknowledged. He immediately pivoted to a lady who had been waiting 2 minutes only. Once her drinks were made great must be my turn. Nope he goes to another lady who had only just started waiting. When I called him out he said yes I know you’re next. Sorry but no, I’m leaving this is terrible pub etiquette and lack of respect for people waiting. If you’re going to pour pints at least make an effort to look up at who’s waiting. Also what made the wait even longer is the staff chatting to mates who were at the bar, and moving at turtle speed. Chop chop it isn’t really that hard you have one job - to pour pints

Quite a nice pubs near Covent Garden. Would definitely recommend the Sam Smith Extra Stout. It was also £9.30 for a large wine but can't complain I guess because of London prices. Staff were friendly.

Even in the sadness of the passing of HM, this traditional Londoner pub has kept its ability to welcome you for a moment of thought and reflection. Large choice of beers from the most traditional to bio and organic lagers, and very decent food. Watch you step and rest for a few moments.

Beautiful stop off point after a visit to The National Gallery. How they maintain such modest prices is beyond me. Sam Smith Brewery has such a great variety of lagers, stouts and ales to boot. First time trying Taddy Lager. My servers were all very nice. Fish and chips were lovely. Brilliant! Will be returning.

Came in here on the off chance on a Friday afternoon. The service was good, the beer cold, the price correct and I could get a seat! Can't ask for more👍

Run out of crisps and peanuts and two of the beers on tap. Upstairs closed due to lack of staff. Beer a lot more expensive than it used to be. Used to really like this pub - but now not what it once was.
