I like JDW pubs, I know a lot of folks in the UK don't but I cannot really fault this pub (other than maybe some of the colored carpet inside). The pub has some of the best prices for booze in the area and carry a large array of drinks. We also had food which was very good and really well priced. As this is part of a chain and the food is standard through their pubs. For a tourist it likely does not matter especially if you're looking for some well priced food and only visit one of their pubs. The pub was really full on a Saturday and looked mostly like more folks from the UK than tourists. It was more an older crowd, middle age plus. The staff was very good! Restrooms clean. There are some other 'older' pubs with more historic histories in the area but if you want some cheap booze and good food I would stop by here. If you're looking for a more historic pub in the area you'd want to pass.

I’ve been to many Wetherspoons in the UK, and I can say this one has a good mixed grill overall. You may get some bad chewy parts rarely so sometimes it’s a hit or miss. They don't have mashed potatoes so you'll have to choose something else while you're ordering.

Not the most comfortable Wetherspoons pub I’ve visited. I visited during a week day & it becomes manic gone 5pm. This is not a surprise though as it’s situated in an extremely busy part of London & a college is also nearby. As per usual, great value for money.

I hear a lot people complaint about JD weterspoons group pubs, but honestly, i love it!!! You cant complain as a food is great and beer is just as good as in other pubs just half the price tag. If you dont like just dont go there, as it leaves more room for those who do love it!!! 🐔 Wings, Halloumi fries and cold pint of lager 🍻.

Bog standard spoons. Good selection of beers. All on the ground floor. Usually quite busy in here as it gets the tourists and LSE students. Lots of tables further down at the back. Find a table and use the app to order.

Huge pub with plenty of seating for large groups. Usual Wetherspoon's food offering all with very good pricing for central London it is the place to relax and get fed and watered. Highly recommend the lavazza hot drinks!

Lovely place, proper British pub! It attracts predominantly old men and students. Great variety of real ales and lagers. One can go for a pub grub here and order something like fish an chips or bangers and mash. Though, prices gone up for beer recently still one can have a pint for reasonable price! There is no music here only the hum of human sounds Recommend

Very busy pub on a Thursday after working hours.. although a little less busier at lunch time. We only had a drink on both visits today.. Loving the new Hobgoblin glasses.. Visited previously on 29th June and had as great experience then, as today. Friendly staff and plenty of room with clean ladies toilets. Unable to comment on food... but we recommend and will return again..

Below average service, quite slow and the beer appeared to many of us watered... However the atmosphere makes it still a decent place to enjoy spending time with your friends

The Shakespeare's Head, in Kingsway just up from Holburn Tube Station is a small Wetherspoons. It has London Wetherspoons prices but it is still exceptional value. We had good service but sat at the far end of the pub which was slightly chilly. Nice value pub in heart of Holburn.

Lovely old fashioned pub in the centre of London. Nice helpful young staff beer good too. Very atmospheric with lots of authographed pictures on the walls of famous stars of screen and stage, plus other memorabilia hanging from ceiling. Worth a visit.

Very tasty classic margarita, nice and cheerful barman and good atmosphere, classical interior design of English pub. Lots of people looking happy to meet their friends there. I definitely recommend the place.

Good ambience for weatherspoons, nice wood panelling and harlequin floor. Prices aligned with Victoria Station spoons

Nice spacious pub. Bit more expensive than usual as it's London but another Spoons ticked off. Meal deals are the same price as our home town but buying drinks individually are about £2 dearer.

This No Frills restaurant is part of the Wetherspoon chain in London. There's nothing fancy about it, but it does have adequate food at some of the most affordable prices in the city. Best of all, it has free refills on coffee!

I had high hopes for this establishment as in a convenient area near Holborn station & it was buzzing around there. But the service @ the bar was terrible when I stopped in there for an hour between 20:50 & 21:50. Sad really. Probably faster to order on the app from your table!! Gr8 atmosphere in there with plenty of groups enjoying the evening.

Good pub, they have an app, so you can order and pay and they bring food and drinks to the table directly. The service is fast and the food was abundant and good.

Shakespeare's Head, a Wetherspoons pub, offers a budget-friendly option for casual dining and drinks. The spacious interior and classic pub atmosphere create a relaxed setting. While the menu may not be gourmet, it caters to diverse tastes with reasonably priced options. The pub's homage to the literary icon adds a unique touch. It's an ideal spot for a casual gathering with friends or a quick bite, making it a convenient choice in the heart of the city.

JD Wetherspoon is a large chain of cheapish pubs in the UK. They are usually very popular (especially with the younger crowd). This one is large and in my opinion well decorated (for example with books, which I like!). The food and drinks offer excellent value. The service is friendly, maybe a little "mass market". The Holborne area has some universities around and so there are many students. We had drinks in the evening and went back for breakfast, which was also good and excellent value.

Called in on way to theatre, food and drink was excellent at good prices. While there, I dropped my rail pass and credit card . I called in after the theatre, and to my relief a member of staff had found it and put it behind the bar. Great to see such honesty and service. Excellent staff. thanks 😊

Excellent value , the tasty fish and chips and mushy peas, as part of the afternoon deal from 2 to 5, eight pounds and sixty pence - and with a soft drink. Mini starter roasted vegetables, this was a really ridiculous small portion and almost tasteless. Friendly staff. Good cheap beer. Apple crumble dessert only comes with ice cream, no longer with custard as an option.

Great pub in SOHO with wide variety of tap beer and ale to choose from. Might be challenging to sit on the terrace but definitely worth waiting. We can recommend fish and chips as well as chicken wings in Korean BBQ sauce

Lovely looking pub inside and out. Nice atmosphere. But what are the staff doing?! I shouldn’t have to argue, while in a Greene King pub, standing in front of the Greene King IPA pump that when I said “IPA” I wanted a Greene King IPA? Should I?… And being filled only 6cm from the top is not a “fair measure”. Saw another customer getting into a big row with same staff member and voices were raised along with middle fingers…really?!

Very good customer service, very clean and tidy. Also very good old building and well maintained. Next time will go for some pints.

Quite a nice spoons and the normal great choice of ales ,however this didn’t extend to the food availability. A number of meals and sides were unavailable so after one drink we left to get food at another outlet hence 2 star rating Not to busy when we were there and staff were pleasant

Place is very nice and very chill. Prices are super affordable. Guinness is: 4.6 pound + 0.75 is peanut. Especially without music is very fantastic, we could talk and enjoy our time.

I heard they have a really goodburger from beyond meat and at a very good price so ... I tried it. To be honest was nothing goodabout it... 1st the vegan bun was very small and than i got some salad in the burger and that's all. it came with some fries very cold and dry and oily 🤢🤮. Pricewise would have been a great deal if the food would have been good ! Very disappointed ..... And... before I forget , no costimer service skills in that team. no one cared about anything... cleaning tables, plates NOTHING and it wasn't busy.
