This was our first British pub experience. Everything was great! Wonderful fish & chips, wide selection of beers, along with friendly and efficient service. Everyone in the family was happy with the experience!

Stopped by here for dinner, particularly wanted to get a Sunday roast. It was later in the day and unfortunately they had run out of Yorkshire puddings but gave us a little more beef. The food we had was excellent! I really enjoyed it. Very flavorful beef roast and veggies. This is a Fuller’s pub and had London Pride beer which accompanied the food very well. The pub is a listed building nestled in a very upmarket area of London. It was not that busy when I visited late Sunday and seems to have more locals than tourists. It was a fine stop and would recommend it, food was excellent… next time I will remember to get there earlier so I don’t miss out on Yorkshire pudding!

Right up there as one of the best meals we've had while in London. Everything we ordered was top notch, with quality and care in preparation, and flavors to match. Came for the pub, will come back for the pub and the food.

Have been meaning to visit this historic pub for 30 years, now I have and it didn't disappoint. Stooped in history, serving Fuller's finest beers and some great food! I will be back.

The best pub in London!!!! We came looking for meat pie and found an amazing snitzel as well! The bread pudding was on special this evening was also delectable. There are really good pubs in London but this one is my favorite!

A really great pub with a gorgeous interior! The staff were super friendly , the lager was lovely (fullers frontier) and we were both very impressed with the haddock.

Nice pub serving a good selection of beers wines and spirits. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It also serves great food too. We sat upstairs where I found out it was the pub where the great train robbery was discussed and organised. Definitely plan another visit

. Myself and wife were on one of our usual breaks in London from Yorkshire and had recently heard about this pub. What we discovered was an oasis of calm in a traditional setting. The host (Michael angelo ) was so genuinely friendly and made our visit all the better. We had Sunday lunch which was lovely. Having finished our lunch we were told by the host to stay, relax and enjoy our drinks. We thought this kind of service had long disappeared in London. We will definitely return and we cannot rate our experience highly enough.

Sadly this visit was not great. Ok it was lunchtime and they should not be surprised to have business but delighted. Ok 17 folk walk in before us but the two bar staff worked hard to try to deal with lots of food and drink orders all at once. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed with waits of nearly an hour for something simple off the menu. Bar service could be improved with somebody bringing out and serving the meals and not the two over worked bar staff. Fullers London Pride at £5.30 a pint was ok but taste and cellar not as good as the beautiful cellared London Pride in The Three Kings at Hammersmith at £4.80. However once the food arrived the Beef & Ale Pie to share (£35.00) was described as Stunning, Wonderful and Outstanding. Just such a shame it took so long to arrive. Sadly the sandwiches were very disappointing to the point a complaint was sent to the kitchen. Oh well it's Pot Luck but should not be. Many did not order food due to delay and a number left for another pub. Disappointing as we know the pub and returned as we had a good experiences here over time. No reason not to go back. TIP: try to avoid peak lunchtime.

Visiting from the Nashville, Tennessee USA. This was one of the absolute best meals (fish and chips) I have ever had in my life. The food, people, and atmosphere were amazing. **Make reservations in advance!**

Really nice pub. Warm cosy atmosphere. Can get very busy, quite a few tables reserved. Ok choice of drinks at usual London prices. Service was ok.

Beautiful old pub tucked away in is mews. Lovely as ever. Great service, warm and comfortable, the only oversight is lack of hophead, now under the Fullers banner.

The Star Tavern 📍6 Belgrave Mews West, London SW1X 8HT 🚇 Knightsbridge 🍺 £6.75 Asahi ❤️ An exquisite pub with London folklore attached. . The Star Tavern is located on an idyllic mews in swish Belgravia. The nearest Tube is Knightsbridge which is a gentle five minute walk away. . This striking Victorian building was built in 1848 and has been a bolt hole for some famous and infamous punters over the years. The Star is infamous for being the place where the Great Train Robbery was planned, it was masterminded by Bruce Reynolds and carried out in 1963. This pub’s heyday was in the 50’s & 60’s, celebrities who frequented The Star include Bing Crosby, Princess Margaret, Peter O’Toole and Diana Dors. . The decor here is traditional, there are wooden floors, shabby furnishings and memorabilia-covered walls which give this boozer a proper London pub feel. On the right as you walk in is the small but perfectly formed servery and on the left is a good sized bar which has a ample seating and a unique feel to it. Upstairs is an additional bar which is where it is said the planning for the great train robbery took place. . This @fullers pub has an excellent beer choice, it’s in fact so good that this pub has featured in the good beer guide for fifty years. Being the uncultured swine that I am, I decided on a pint of Asahi. My pint was top drawer if a little pricey. Fullers do pub grub very well, the food menu here has lots of traditional fayre, fish and chips will set you back £17.95. . I arrived just after the pub opened with my Brother and Nephew, we ordered our beers and took a seat at the far end of the bar. We were all in agreement how impressed by the look and feel of this boozer. Just after we had our first sups a large group of senior gentleman arrived and the atmosphere was elevated and upbeat. The service was good, we were served by a nice chap behind the bar who was very welcoming . . @thestartavern is yet another outstanding pub that calls Belgravia its home. The mews setting, the fabulous decor and architecture, and who doesn’t love a story about a bit of London skullduggery, its all here. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 04.11.22

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly staff. It’s pretty cool to have a pint where the Great Train Robbery was planned!

Fantastic Sunday roast! Pictures are a beef/pork combo roast and some pigs in blankets. The beef was served medium rare, and the pork had crispy crackling. The gravy was top notch and complimented the roast veggies well. They ran out of cauliflower cheese, but bulked up the rest of the meal with other veggies. The Yorkshire pudding was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The vibes of the pub were cute and classic, there was a cool print of olden day London. The service was top notch, the people were friendly and informative. Highly recommend, might be one of my favourite roasts I’ve had this year

Beautiful facade, quaint & warm interior. The food was fantastic as was Lee’s service. We shared pigs in a blanket, London Porter smoked salmon & the Sunday roast. The perfect combination of fresh, rich, comfort food without the heaviness. Love the history of this place. Highly recommend.

We had a great lunch here. Service was great, food was more than decent and a standard British pub atmosphere. We'll get back whenever we'll be in the area.

Loved the location. In a not so busy residential street. Beautiful on the outside at nighttime. Cosy and welcoming on the inside. Excellent service, who didn’t rush on ordering and helped out with any questions or recommendations. Food was excellent! Had bangers and mash, on special. Friend had the fish and chips, and the chips were properly extra crispy! Definitely would like to visit again soon.

I ran an event at the Star in conjunction with the great Daffyd ( the Governor). My clients loved it due to the hard work of the staff. Especially thanks to Ellie who helped me set up etc

A really lovely pub. The staffs are so nice, and it’s a dog-friendly place. I have to say their Sunday roast is probably the best one I have had in London so far. I think the secret is the delicious gravy, you must try it. 🥰

Nice cozy pub in the back Mews of Belgravia. Enjoyed the fish n'chips and a pint of Guinness. Loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff.

The Star Tavern was exceptional! Mike (originally from Boston) greeted My Wife & I so warmly, when we arrived. The service was fantastic, only excelled by the great food, drinks & desert. The atmosphere was perfect for a couple’s quiet dinner. The history of the beautiful restaurant was so interesting, as well. The next time My Wife & I come back to London from Chicago, we will definitely come back to this wonderful restaurant!

It's an odd place in and among the many embassies, but it's a lovely pub. It's not to pricey concerning London prices and I can't think of many that are really cheaper, but the cask ale is excellent. The lager selection was good as well. The bartenders are more than willing to think of something to make sure you too can have a drink based on diet or religion. Can't speak for the food, but it seemed like people enjoyed it. It fills quick as well.

Booked a table for 7pm today and had a bite to eat and a game of Dominoes. Immediately given a very warm welcome and shown to our table. The drinks were well served with lots of choice. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere and friendliness was perfect. What a wonderful place. Thank you to everyone who served us. Having managed pubs myself for many years previously, I was very impressed with all aspects of our visit. I think we've just found our new local.....

This place was a great find! Cozy pub vibes, great service and amazing food. We had the fish and chips and the steak and ale pie. Both excellent. Highly recommend!

The perfect pub. It’s hidden on an empty street. The facade is charming and inviting. Inside, the noise is bustling, spaces are cramped yet you can find your own place into which to nestle. The drink menu is extensive although when in traditional pubs I lean heavy towards draft beer. The food menu is interesting - I ordered the steak & ale pie. It was very good. I loved the au jus. This place has loads of personality.

We hosted our annual Christmas lunch at this amazing pub hidden in a Belgravia mews and it did not disappoint. We had a closed menu for 30 and the food was really good even being so many, staff super friendly and helpful and their Library room upstairs is gorgeous and very cozy. Really happy we chose this pub for our lunch!!
