We sat at the bar which was fun to watch the bartenders make drinks. The service, food and ambiance were all perfect! I absolutely loved my shrimp and avocado cocktail starter. The steak was excellent and the peppercorn sauce was outstanding!! So happy we stopped here while in London!

I was skeptical because the reviews seem either very good or only moderate; although overall very good. I didn’t want an overly posh meal that required my status to be an air about me in order to feel qualified to chew amongst the elites… Of course it was anything but, it was a lovely and calm atmosphere, perhaps just a bit exclusive but mostly that’s just a facade. The food is good, the drinks are very good. We had some very typical English dinner sorts, as visitors to London. I can’t say I was disappointed whatsoever. The menu is fairly complex in its modern British fare, but I suppose to the average Britt it may seem business as usual. It’s not comfort food, it’s classic modern fare? None the less, good food, and outstanding service! Cheers!

Lovely atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable about their food choices and alcoholic beverages. Very clean and attention to detail. Excellent menu choices for everyone. Staff were very accommodating as my friend had gone to the wrong branch and was 30 minutes late. They didn’t throw us out even though we had gone over our allotted time. Would definitely eat there again. The highlight for me was having fresh mint leaves for my mint tea 🍵

The Ivy not only lived up to, but surpassed, every expectation we had. We went as a family of 6 and were given a perfect table. The service is exceptional. The staff made us feel so welcome. They were kind, had lovely senses of humour and made us feel welcomed and at home immediately. The food was delicious. Portions were generous and all the chosen dishes were devoured! The toilets are also worth a visit! A little bit of luxury to enjoy as you freshen up! A huge thank you to the waiting staff, chefs and all those behind the scenes. This was intended to mark a sad but special occasion and you made our decision to splash out totally and utterly worth it. We take with us very special memories and really hope we can visit again. Like many, many others, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic experience at The Ivy! After 2 other restaurants refused to find us a spot cause they were too busy, The Ivy did everything possible to accommodate us - that’s great hospitality! The place is classy and beautiful, bustling with movement. The service is great, drinks are great and food is great! All around a great experience; definitely recommend and we’ll be back! Recommend the duck salad and the Shepard’s pie!

The former haunt of the glitterati and James Bond creator Ian Fleming (who apparently told a friend here that he started to write the first book), The Ivy treats you like you’re a star. The service is attentive and impeccable. The dining room is warm and inviting. The food is slightly elevated British fare, and while we enjoyed the mains, we were even more impressed with the starters (Cheese Soufflé) and the desserts (the seasonal Polar Bear dish). The drinks were mixed nicely, and the minute we finished our dinner we wished we could return. A perfect place for a special occasion. The Ivy is worth your hard earned money.

Great food and service and atmosphere at The Ivy West Street. Brilliant location right opposite The Mousetrap, and right on the corner near Shaftesbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road. So near for theatres and shops. The food is amazing a very large portion of Shepherds Pie, really tasty and very reasonablely priced. With a lovely serving of peas and beans. The bread rolls were lovely and warm and great flavour too. The peach Bellini was really delicious, and again very reasonable. The atmosphere is fantastic very busy with lots of people having dinners and drinks and celebrating. Toilets are downstairs and nice decorative staircase. The service was brilliant from the host seeing you to your table to the bar tender behind the bar, to the waitress all very friendly and so helpful. Especially the doorman, he was lovely and friendly and helpful and very nice to talk to. I wish him all the best, he is such a gentleman. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and would definitely visit again.

I took my girlfriend to The Ivy as a surprise for her birthday in July, as it was always a place I knew she wanted to go to, but never thought in her dreams she'd make it there. After initially getting mixed up with The Ivy in Covent Garden we found the right location, and were greeted by a very friendly team to show us to the bar before our table was ready. I have to say the cocktails were amazing and if we could, we would just pop in for these as they were real quality. The food was amazing quality, incredibly well presented and so tasty. In fact it is one of the few places we've been able to have 3 courses and not feel overly full. Staff were just lovely and attentive too and it did not feel like we were in any rush, but that may be because our booking was at 21:00. My only comment is that the tables where we were felt squashed and very close to others, so much so you could hear other peoples conversations, however this did not spoilt by girlfriends birthday surprise. All in all this was one incredible evening and would love to go back there one day. I would encourage everyone to go there at least once to experience The Ivy effect.

We visited on a Saturday evening around 8:30 and it was fairly busy, and the general atmosphere was warm and relaxed. As you walk into the premises there is the reception and a cloakroom. We didn't book so was told there would be approximately 20 mins to wait and was asked if we'd like to wait at the bar so that's what we did and had a couple of drinks while we waited to be seated at a table. We were seated in front nearest to the windows of the restaurant. It didn't take long for a waiter to our drinks and food order, and the wait for the food was reasonable approximately 20 minutes. We ordered the rib-eye on the bone. Separately, we ordered sauces (béarnaise and wild mushroom) and sides (chips, creamed spinach). Everything about the meal, from presentation to taste was delicious. We didn't order any dessert as we were stuffed! The service was spot on which made the whole experience perfect. I would recommend visiting if you haven't already, I'm just disappointed I didn't take anymore pictures of the place but I guess I was too busy enjoying the date. ;-)

What a fantastic surprise and treat. We randomly found this fabulous little bistro that had the best brunch prior to our scheduled visit to Windsor Castle 🏯. The food was superb. The Rhubarb and Raspberry Gin and light ginger was the best drink I ever had. The cheese souffle was fluffy while the potatoes and mushrooms with quail egg appetizer was robust and flavorful. We shared the Shepard s pie which was esquisitly plated. The bistro was elegant and tastefully decorated I would highly recommend this place - it was worth every penny.

We booked months in advance and got a friendly reminder a few days before. This 1917 Art Deco building is a perfect setting for a pre theatre meal. It's directly opposite The Ambassadors theatre( The Shark is broken) and St Martin's( The Mousetrap). The stained glass windows and ornate Art Deco reliefs are punctuated by modern paintings by the likes of Damien Hirst. Guests coats are taken and are then ushered to the central cocktail bar for apperitifs whilst tables are being prepared. We were late so we only had 5 minutes at this gorgeous Savoy like bar. Try and get there as early as you can to take it all in, it's rather majestic. At the table the lighting is low, very low which helped create the overwhelmingly brilliant dining ambience but reading the menu proved difficult. Exemplified by a polluting beacon of mobile phone torchlight coming from a struggling diner on the adjacent table. Ignoring the £160 caviar starter, we opted for a beetroot salad and bang bang chicken. Both superbly presented and tasty. The mouth watering selection of mains will take you some time to decide. My partner changed her mind several times before choosing the duck. I opted for Venison and both dishes were so beautifully cooked and presented. The macaroni cheese and truffle side dish (a relatively paltry £6) is a must. The quality of the food, the presentation, the surroundings, the service staff waltzing elegantly between the cozy/cramped tables and of course the overall price of the meal was like theatre itself and the show hadn't even started.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Food is great, the quality is superb and everything is cooked with love and care. The service is really good, I've had the pleasure to meet different waiters and waitresses and they are all super professional. The bar and the restaurant are very nice and welcoming. And, finally, the location is also very good. I recommend it to everyone!!

Reservations suggested! We did not have a reservation, and offered to sit at the bar, but were grateful to the hostesses that made accommodations to have a seated at a table. It did seem like we were inconveniencing them even though the restaurant was half empty (6:30 on a Monday) as they did allude to the fact that they were about to be very busy with tables coming in before nearby shows. White tablecloth dining experience. Food was incredible and came out very fast! Honestly, my favorite thing I ate in all of London! They take English classics to the highest level of execution! We didn’t get our cocktails until halfway through our meal that we ordered upon arrival - only reason for 4 stars on service. Our server was attentive (again - seemed like we were kind of an inconvenience) but regardless, we were checked in with and given speedy service. Gratuity fee 12.5% was already added to the bill. Although the restaurant was a little warm for us, they did have silent fans dispersed throughout which helped. Aside from the warmth, the atmosphere was upbeat and lively, lots of well-dressed guests and families, enjoying this beautiful, eclectic and colorful restaurant!

This was our first trip to The Ivy and it won’t be our last. We booked the “at bar” seating and this was great for people watching and celebrity spotting. The two of use had 3 courses each, couple of sides and 6 drinks between us. Including service it came to £200 The food was amazing, service was efficient yet not pushy. Atmosphere was great, nice buzz about the place, casual dinning. Didn’t feel like we had to dress up. Yet didn’t feel out of place that we were smart. Lovely experience.

The Ivy is one of those restaurants in London that really make you feel like you had a very special time. The menu is full of my favourites and everything seems to be carefully crafted for you. I love the traditional dishes you apparently only find here, at the original Ivy, that are on the menu since 1917! The atmosphere is superb, the staff is absolutely amazing and a visit to The Ivy is truly a remarkable experience. Every single time.

An upscale, art deco restaurant and bar in the heart of London. Staff engaging and professional. Delicious food and wine. Wonderful vegetarian menu; literally a separate menu so you don't have to sort it out on your own. Fresh and flavorful. I had the truffle ravioli. Wonderful with Sancerre!

Wonderful place to visit on a day out in London, made the whole experience feel very luxurious. Service was generally attentive but it was quite busy so difficult to pay attention to everyone at once. I myself had the scallops and the ravioli which was delicious with the shaved truffles on top, and the scallops were delicious with excellent presentation. They made my mum feel very special on her 60th birthday with a plate of chocolate truffles on the house, and for fairly fine dining, the price was not too exorbitant between 5 people.

What an amazing experience it is dining at this restaurant! It was my first time at a fine dining restaurant and I absolutely loved it, everything is done so right that you feel like you want to back again and again. We started with some delicious cocktails at the bar while waiting to be seated at our table, when it became available we could enjoy our food. We had delicious bread and butter to start, some cheese suflê and some tempura prawns as starters, cottage pie and the breast chicken with a truffle filling for mains, and as desserts we had the valentines raspberry choux and the coconut sorbet, everything cooked to perfection. The flavours are so well combined, completely different than anything I’ve tried before. The service is 5 stars, didn’t wait too long to get served, all the foods arrived with no time. Our glasses never get empty as someone will refill it while we enjoy the amazing food. There was someone playing a violin so beautifully, what a beautiful way of celebrating the Valentine’s Day! I’ll certainly be back!

I just don’t know how you can not love the Ivy! It is timeless, elegant and delicious. My favourite dish is the shepherds pie. They have never disappointed me on this dish. We sometimes add on veg- like a side of peas and a side of veg and place it next to the pie in the dish. It is really nice together. Sometimes I prefer the bar and sometimes a table. The only thing I think you can knock it for is the queue for the coats. The front room fills up so quickly and if you are in a rush to leave you have to wait for them to run downstairs and find your coats. Because of this I tend to take my coat with me. The loos are opulent just like the restaurant! I tend to try different cocktails at different times but they’re always good.

This restaurant is so beautifully decorated over Christmas it is absolutely picture perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here however found that front of house could’ve been a lot more organised as we waited a long time outside along with a queue of people despite the fact that we had reservations. 1 of my sides arrived after we had finished our meal so it was kindly deducted off the bill without us mentioning. Lovely atmosphere inside, socially distanced tables, hand sanitisers on each table. Really lovely place...

Finally managed to eat at The Pig and Butcher and it was great ! Went for Sunday dinner (booked in advance) staff has helped me well and even accepted my request of having outdoor seating. Much appreciated! I liked the ambiance that I will define as smart casual. Food wise I had a very nice meal and got what I was looking for, proper, Refine Sunday roast. Meat is perfectly cooked, Yorkshire big enough to mute complaints ! Beef croquette are nice starter and tasty without being exceptional. Dark chocolate hot pot is a great treat and even though it’s rich doesn’t feel heavy. My only little remarks is on the draft beer, it seems that the place is more oriented to bottle offer. Good selection though, but I would have preferred having more choice with draft. Would recommend for casual Sunday roast ! Thanks to the team !

This was our fourth time to the Ivy, Ive had lunches in the Guildford Surrey one which is just Devine lovely but this was first time in the London one. Very busy but we booked a table not to be disappointed. I went with a girlfriend for lunch decided to get dress up.to make a trip into london We were greeted in a polite way we were taken to our table. First impression is definitely WOW We had a booth We didn’t wait long for a table the slots are not long for lunch as we were not drinking alcohol it wasn’t too expensive there is also a theatre menu after 4.30pm that menu also delicious if you want to make your meal cheaper not be embarrassed to ask for it! The atmosphere was great.

For a restaurant that had celebrities whisked in, I kind of was expecting a little too high but was letdown by a seemingly limited menu. Was that just menu for the day? Well, I must've missed it. Dining at the bar, though, felt more worth it than at the table. And as a last minute option following a spectacle at The Dominion Theatre, it was the best stop to cap off the night. After the complimentary bread, I went straight to the 'roasted John Dory filets with cauliflower, potted shrimp and sea purslane.' I barely remember I had any shrimp in my plate, though but the fish was exceptional. The grilled hispi cabbage salad? Hmmm, not so much. Carving into the vegetable was also a struggle. The baked Alaska was my personal entertainment for the night for desserts. But it looks unrefined after finishing off the flambé number. The alcohol and burnt bits left too strong to my liking. Their drinks made me linger some more and soak in the whimsical flare of the restaurant. They had some interesting paintings hung up on their walls and I managed to stay a while before they close at 0130H. Service was, of course, impeccable with the restaurant still full at/near closing time.

The food was well seasoned and just overall amazing. There was a good portion size from the starter to the desert. By the end, we were full but a nice full (if that makes sense). The staff were very attentive and venue itself was stunning. Only downfall would have been where we were sat, very close to other people and not enough privacy but would definitely reccommend for a nice meal in central.

So I have finally made it to the original Ivy where all the celebrities came to hang out, dine and paparazzi wood cammer around outside the main door to catch a picture of the stars as they enter or leave. I was blessed to sit on the side where the celebrities sit normally. So I intended to come here to have three courses before my friend and I would go and see my cousin playing Tina Turner in the musical show. So so first I had the squid salad which was quite nice I thought it could do with a little bit more squid I had the lambs livers I did like it however I was told that it could be better. I am gone halfway through my main when I receive the text from my cousin's father to inform me that the show has been cancelled due to Co-vid infections within the cast luckily my cousin wasn't one of them. The service on this day was quite slick there were a few bumps in the road but that wasn't me, that was for the people that you next to me as the maitre d' did not inform them of the special for the day.

Had a really lovely visit to the ivy prior to watching the mousetrap. With no reservation and only 50 minutes prior to curtain up, the staff were able to accommodate us. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink and both enjoyed the salmon served pink, cooked to absolute perfection 👌🏻 everything about this dish was just a triumph. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Thank you team, easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ recommendation.

Despite our reservation, an extra 15-minute wait in a crowded area dampened the experience. The delicious food couldn't fully compensate for the loud environment, hindering socialization. Limited restroom stalls, just 3 compared to other Ivy restaurants' 5-6, led to inconvenient long lines. While the food was enjoyable, the overall experience makes a return unlikely.

The service was incredibly slow. We waited for about 15 minutes to get someone to our table. Then, the order also took a while to arrive. However, the cream tea was great, perfect for anyone looking for a British experience, especially tourists. Just be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Really great. The Beef was probably the best roast I've had on a Sunday for quite a while! Service was great and the beer and wine list on point. The atmosphere in side is perfect for autumn, dim lights and a rustic vibe that is perfect for having a red and eating a proper dinner. Will be back for sure.

Sunday roast here was PHENOMENAL, one of the best ones I've had in London! Get the beef for 2 share with bone marrow, sooo tender and delicious with lots of gravy. Not usually a big fan of Yorkshire pudding but this one was light and made well for mopping up the bone marrow. Comes with creamed leeks and roasted veggies on the side, such a great deal!

I was not allowed to use the bathroom after a certain time, even though there were still loads of customers still finishing drinks. It clearly was possible for me to go in, the place was closing but not actually closed. The really rude doorman for no actually legitimate reason decided not to let me. I asked where else he suggested I went, and he basically told me to go down this dark street off the square and the people there would "let me in". Initially I trusted him and I did try to follow his suggestion, but turned back quickly. The place he sent me looked as dodgy as it could be, clearly unsafe. What kind of door man deliberately refuses to let a girl use the bathroom and instead attempts to send her somewhere down a dodgy dark street by herself? Do not trust this bar or the staff there.

Loved the classic, intimate, warm atmosphere there. The service not bad but nothing special either. Mostly classic well executed dishes, sometimes with a twist. I hated the Asian dishes served there and I think they are out of context. They didn’t even taste that good and some where badly cut as well. Loved the cheese souffle with truffle and the Roast lobster as well. The grilled sole while good was underseasoned and overly charred to my liking. The shepard pie although tasty was nothing special. I still prefer the old fashioned one served right from the oven.

I booked a table here last month and when I arrived the hostess informed me that there were no available tables (despite there being free tables on the floor) and I was asked to wait at the bar. I ended up waiting for nearly 20 mins before being sat at my table, which was not what I expected for this kind of establishment. Nevertheless, from there the experience was very positive. The food was great and our table waiter was very good also. Would give 4.5 if I could, but seeing as there is no option I will give the benefit of the doubt and give 5 stars on this occasion.

I went to the Ivy for my birthday and it was lovely. I’ve been to other Ivys before but this one really is something special. I had the crab to start and it was the most delicious crab I’ve ever eaten, then I followed with the salmon which was also lovely. They brought out some birthday truffles and I also tried the chocolate tart which of course was stunning. I also had one of their cocktails which was absolutely lovely. Honestly there is nothing to fault, the table was lovely, service was impeccable, quite slow with drinks at times & was left waiting for some items which we had to chase. However, I would recommend to anyone, of course it is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Beautiful decor, lovely food and right in the centre of london!

We visited on a busy Friday night, the tables are pretty well packed in, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was good, there were a few mistakes with our order, and the wine we ordered didn’t come, and when we asked they said they didn’t have it in stock, so 30mins later we got a different wine. Overall it was still a good meal out but could have been better.

After a much overdue visit, it was finally time to try out The Ivy! I'd heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint. The menu had a great variety of choice to cater to our large party, meaning that everyone was able to select something special for themselves. Starting with the crab-cake, the main of lamb chops was devine. I'll definitely be back to sample some more of the menu!

This restaurant was incredible! I was having a terrible night because another reservation had fallen through due to technical difficulties. I'm so glad the hostess got us a table. The service was immaculate, the food was "dangerously delicious" and the restaurants ambience was the perfect mood setter for my partner and I. When I am back in London I will make time for another lovely evening.I highly recommend to end your evening with a refreshing dessert such as the Lemon Posset. Special thanks to both the beautiful hostess and our waiter Chris.

This was our first dinner while visiting London. Reservations were made weeks in advance to guarantee accommodations for us( long waits or no availability was not an option especially with our jetlag) The reviews and the menu was up our alley. We were seated immediately and the restaurant's ambiance was welcoming yet elegant. The menu has so many excellent options, it was hard for me to choose. I ultimately chose the lobster. Our server brought us still water and stated she'd return. We were so caught up in the magic of London... that we hadn't noticed quite a bit of time had passed. Our server was at another table, that came after us..they already received their water, drinks and bread for the table. The table next to us, who arrived after us... had received no service yet. They were about to leave. My cousin had to waive another person down and let them know we were ready to order. A very pleasant gentleman took our drink order( apologized for the delay)and brought bread for the table. We ordered a triple baked cheese souflee( you have to try this...addictive) for the table and our dinners. It took so long for us to receive service that the lobster was sold out. I was heart broken because I had my heart set on lobster. Lord(e) our server, told me to get the ribeye instead. It's his favorite and I would not be disappointed. I am not a fan of ribeye, not my preferred cut of meat but I put my faith in Lord(e)'s recommendation. This was one of the BEST steaks I've had(I've eaten at plenty of high end steakhouses to know)!! It was a fine cut of meat that was flavorful and juicy,(it melted in your mouth). I devoured my meal because it was so delectable( I was shocked I ate all 12ozs.- I'm typically full with 6 to 8ozs) My truffle and parmesan chips were the perfect addition to my meal. My cousins chose The Ivy Sheperd's Pie with Mayfield cheese( fantastic)and Truffle stuffed, corn fed chicken breast. There was no bad choice of meal at our table or this restaurant. I drank the Ivy Champagne cocktail but the group FAVORITE drink was the Laperouse! It smelled like a parfum and tasted like a dream. The flower garnish made it perfection. I refuse to end a meal without dessert. All the ladies stated they were full but once the sticky toffee pudding arrived ...there were 2 extra spoons in my dessert! Lol. I'd highly recommend this dessert. When in London...we eat what the locals eat!!! Excellent restaurant choice. Lord(e) who was a manager at this establishment made our experience memorable. He turned a disastrous start into a wonderful ending. I am still appalled with that server, who refused to assist us. She walked by our table several times and didn't give us a second glance. She had no choice but to serve us at the end, since Lord(e)'s shift was over. We were definitely racially profiled and my biggest regret is that the gratuity included with our bill went to her. I told Lord(e) I wanted him to have it, since he earned it. As a manager, I assume that was not possible. Lord(e) is an amazing soul, with a great personality( too funny)and know we are grateful for the superb customer service you provided. Thank you for my cousin's bday treat(chocolate truffles with a sweet filling)... I can still taste them and my heart flutters! I refuse to allow the ignorance of such an individual to diminish my perspective of the restaurant or service we received from Lord(e). Once again thank you!

I haven't been to this wonderful establishment for over 10 years, something happened and I thought they'd lost their edge. I'm really happy that I gave them another try as they are better than ever! The service was so gracious, friendly and welcoming from the doorman to reception and servers. They really made us feel welcome. There's no stuffiness here. The food was superb. My truffleled tortellini in a cheese sauce was excellent and filling - I couldn't finish it. My husband's fish and chips were absolutely the best. Crispy batter, and the fish was thick and succulent. Their sticky toffee pudding is the best anywhere, and we are on a mission to prove this. The prices are surprisingly good (as always). All the above and a nice bottle of wine and the bill came in under a £100. We're definitely going back, sooner than later.

Always love going for dinner at The Ivy. We went for my birthday dinner, the staff were lovely and brought me out a birthday plate. Food was amazing as always. Will definitely be back.

Went there in the covid aftermath: tables are nicely distanced and your temperature is checked with an unobtrusive thermal camera. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Excellent food and great wine selection. On the expensive side (easily above 60£ p.p.), but you get what you pay for.

Great food and even better drinks. I started my evening with a gin tonic, followed by some starters and a T-bone steak. The taste was amazing and the food fresh. The portions are not too big and the atmosphere is great as well. Just make sure to get a reservation since it is often very packed. Overall a great place I can recommend to anyone who wants to have a decent dinner.

On the 27th July went for a meal, the service from Nelson was the best service I have ever received in any restaurant! The steak was par excellence. I look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended if you are looking for first class food and service. PS. Ask for Nelson to serve you when making a booking.

One of the most elegant rooms in London. The Ivy manages to be both serene and buzzy. Everything about it is supremely assured, just so. The chef doesn't need to show off. Never disappoints. A class act.

I would want to warn future guests of this place during this pandemic. Very poor safety measures compared to other places. The restaurant was totally packed ( also it's a place without any windows, so there was no any fresh air), waiters and waitresses weren't even wearing masks or had any sanitizers in hand. The staff was rude as well. I would expect more from such a brand. Totally disappointed.

Was a little disappointed by this place, although the service was attentive and they did their best to make up for the disappointments. If you're eating with only omnivores there won't be a problem & the food will probably be excellent. We had booked in advance and let them know a vegan was coming - they had assured us of vegan options for each course. Table bread not suitable for a vegan - they offered an alternative of seasoned roasted broad beans (very nice) once I raised the issue by asking if I could eat the bread, but didn't volunteer the info. 1st course (starter) - 1 option; nice but over salted. 2nd course (main) - 3 options; nice but my over salted 1st course made this bland to the point of tasteless. 3rd course (dessert) - 2 options; sorbet or fruit salad! (Really!). My veggie companion had both the first & second courses corrected after arriving at the table incorrect. No issues for the omnivores.

We booked in for an early dinner having been to the theatre during the afternoon. My partner has been coming here for social and business meals for many years. The food & wine was still very good, although my shepherd's pie tasty very salty, but that's possibly down to personal taste, but the service on this occasion sadly was dismal. No interaction from our waiting staff, not a single smile, we were left waiting to have our wine re-filled for a good 10 - 15 minutes after trying hard to get some attention. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy at the time but filled up during our meal. We will of course return as we always have done, maybe everyone was on a down day. Sadly it just didn't finish our day off on the high we had expected so we left & went elsewhere for an after dinner drink.

Worst restaurant dining experience in my life. I had a dinner with my friends to celebrate birthday, but the waitress told us to shut up and not to laugh, cause according to her we might disturb other visitors. Later we wanted to take a picture all together with my friends, but the waitress would not allow as “the restaurant might have some celebrities and they would not like to be captured”. We don’t care about them, we just wanted take picture of our small group of friends as something to remember. The food is average. I am travelling a lot, but I never seen this kind of rude staff in my life. My other mutuals had the same experience in a different branch. Definitely not going come back. Always warning my friends and mutuals to avoid this place at any costs. Never heard a good review about this place from personal experience. I guess there is a reason for that.

This place has a really great ambience and the welcoming staffs are so friendly (not to mention funny to, he knows how to crack the situation!). The rib eye is good, but not so great, I expect more from this price. I should’ve stick to The Ivy’s classic menu as this is their specialty. Still, this restaurant is worth to visit. But it seems you need to take a look and control the hospitality service on the second floor. I understand the restaurant is a bit packed but it despises me that the all waiters/waitresses on the second floor are so rude. Firstly, for the man who takes our order, I ask which sauce that he recommends the most since I’m not familiar with those Italian name. He keeps answering me with the name of the sauce and feels a bit annoyed when I ask him each sauce’s taste and texture (I mean, I won’t ask if I know what it is). Secondly, I need to order my friend a beer which unfortunately they don’t serve it. I know they’re very busy at the moment but I assume a good hospitality shall offer some different available options first (1 or 2 is fine tho) before saying ‘I think you should wait for your friend and let her choose herself’. Lastly, I order an old-fashioned but request for just one one ice. With a bit annoyed she explains that the drink comes with 1 big ice (okay that’s fine) which then turns out the drink comes with many ice in it (less ice would be better than normal amount of ice).

Sadly I would have to agree with some of the recent reviews here and mainly elsewhere (that website about trips & advice) that this restaurant seems to have lost its way recently. Had a lovely meal here a few years ago but I visited again recently (before lockdown) and we had to wait out on the street in the cold for some time despite having a reservation. The food was subpar but, perhaps more concerningly, they make no effort to hide which guests are receiving preferential treatment. As a destination restaurant, it would be good if they put more effort into making everyone's experiences of the Ivy as good as possible rather than focussing on their regular guests

Been here before COVID restrictions and had a fantastic meal...this visit for my daughters 21st wasn't as good they didn't quite have the bookings under control..but it was the weekend after the closing at 10pm was introduced. Service was very attentive and professional, menu seem restricted...and food OK but wow factor as it has been...I just think that were trying to please all the bookings they had...but didn't quite work.... would definitely give them a chance to redeem themselves with another booking in the future....we paid a lot of money for what we had but didn't live up to expectations...again staff we fantastic all praise to them.

What’s with the hype? The cooking is so average. Dined with my family and we all left underwhelmed. My pork dish was bog standard chop with an overly reduced, generic meat jus. Nothing of the promised truffle. And what a mean (scant) piece of meat. My butcher would scoff at the portion size.. They fluffed their lines on the ordering but graciously recovered it on desserts but also owners, why send me away with my kids for being 30 mins early to wander around in the drizzle outside? Could I not have just sat at my table and enjoyed an aperitif?

It's ok. Quite expensive for smaller portion sizes than I would have liked. Food was fine, slightly on the bland side. Service was great though, super friendly.

Brilliant service, fantastic staff and amazing decor. Attend with a group of friends each ordered a different meal from the menu which had a more than suitable range of edibles. Service was quick and waiting time was, adequate. I wod recommend Gigi's Hoxton to any of my friends and family! Amazing Live music in the Underbelly Hoxton located down stairs with So Live Sessions enjoyed our time at Gigi's very much.

Now has it's personality - Zigfried's trappings are now all gone - even the toilets have had a make over. The bar has been moved to the left.

Arrived at 8pm, ordered a bottle of wine some starters and 2 steaks, non of which were available, we ended up having to have all they had left, burgers and chips. At 9.30pm the spotlights were turned on in the restaurants and staff was shouting to start finishing up - we have literally just received our food. From this point onward the staff were in "going home" mode and we were made feel extremely unwelcome and we where rushed to leave the restaurant at 9.45. This is 15 minutes before official closing time. Disgusted that a customer can be treated in such an awful way. Will you see me again? Hell no!!! Oh, I had to leave my card behind the bar before sitting down to have a meal!!! Just shows you the type of clientele they attract.

Food was okay. Maybe slightly pricey if I were paying full price but ok. What was really bad and left a bad taste was how badly we were treated. We live literally steps from this place and have known it since it started and the one before it. We asked and got confirmation of govt scheme before sitting down to eat and before ordering. In the end full bill was given and we had to argue and convince before they reduced price on meal. They still did not do on soft drink. They were so unhappy to give us a discount which they had a huge poster of in front. It left such a bad taste 2 hours later I ate frozen (after cooking) Sainsbury pizza just to get over that feeling. Will be very hard to go in again. Hopefully it closes and someone else comes

Great event put on by beautiful drag queens, however, the bar was very restrictive around their bottomless and made it very difficult for us to enjoy.

I've been here a few times over the years as it's changed names and decor. I really like the atmosphere, style and shape of this bar. Lots of large tables allow for groups of friends to sit together, the artwork is enjoyable and there're some board games available. Lots of drinks to choose from and they also serve food. The prices are to be expected in this area.

A nice venue with a private function room It's slightly off from the bustle of Hoxton at the weekend which for some is a blessing. As such, it has an outdoor seating area which is calm and good for talking and smoking. As with most of Hoxton, parking is a nightmare. Though there are a few streets nearby that can be used in the evenings. The decor is simple and functional

Cool bar right in Hoxton Sqaure, just stayed for a couple of drinks, friendly bar staff. Shame the juke box wasn't working, music they were playing was awful! We used to go there when it was Zigfrid' s for the amazing juke box and electric Rock and Roll interior. Still a cool bar, if we are in the area again we'll pop in and hopefully the juke box will be working

Very good chain of restaurants in England. We had made a reservation in advance as we already once could not have a seat without. They have wonderfull exotic cocktails on offer, which we very much enjoyed. For mains we tried their pea-risotto, this is a green risotto which tasted great and was less heavy than a normal cheese risotto. We complemented this with some sides such as fries and beans. We finished with strawberry icecream and their special brownies. We had a good time here and we come again

During a recent short trip to London, my friends and I reserved a table for a later lunch/early dinner before heading to a play at The Globe Theatre. The whole experience at The Ivy was amazing. The staff are so friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding and we all had an absolutely fantastic time. I would recommend The Ivy West Street as a must if you are visiting London and wish to enjoy an iconic dining experience. Well Done to Everyone at The Ivy

The Ivy continues to offer great service and great food in the sweet spot between Covent Garden, Soho and Leicester Square. The menu is as equally as accessible as the location and full of the traditional favourites like Shepards Pie, burgers, steaks through to lobster and chips. The glamour days of TV and film stars maybe behind it, diluted by the franchises, as it seems to attracts a more ‘mature’ crowd, maybe they remember the cachet being at the Ivy used to bring… me being one I guess. The food continues to be consistently good and the service exemplary. The bar was a great place to people watch and as comfort as sitting at a table. 2 glasses of champagne, a bottle of white wine, 3 starters and a main course came to £-145 including tip. A great staging post for a night out at the theatre or in to town!

The food, wine and cocktails were all delightful. The restaurant is beautiful both inside and outside. The staff are attentive and welcoming. I would definitely recommend coming here.

We visited The Ivy inbetween our visit to the two Harry Potter stage shows at Palace Theatre just round the corner. We explained that we had limited time to eat, and the staff were very efficient and our meal was finished with time to spare. The decor of the resturant was warm & welcoming. We both thoroughly enjoyed the duck. The theatrics of preparing the baked Alaska and setting it alight next to our table was exciting, and the dessert itself tasted divine. Our waitress (around 5ft 5, short pixie cut dark hair, very smiley) was wonderfully professional, plesent and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately we didn't get her name. The Ivy are lucky to have her!

Booked a table, only a week in advance which I think is good for The Ivy, for my friends 40th Birthday. We where treated very well by all the staff from the guy who opens the door, to our waiter. The atmosphere is like "home from home" Not stuffy at all. We had 2 bottles of house fizz (£65e) the Shepherds pie and spring greens. (£25e) I had the Damien Hurst inspired Cheesecake selection, OMG HEAVEN! And my 2 friends had the Cheese burger (£19)and Chocolate cake. They said it was excellent. The bill came to £268 which I thought was pretty good. 10/10 for food, service and atmosphere. I will most definitely booking again next time I'm in London. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Oh, yes we even sat next to a celebrity, from Dancing On Ice!!!

Wanted to go to The Ivy for so many years, we were celebrating my wife's 70th birthday, amazing service, fantastic food, we sat chatting for 30 minutes before ordering desert, so nice not to be rushed. Enjoy

Very friendly young serving and door staff. Cloakrooms available. Essential to book in advance especially in the evenings on weekends. Centrally located, excellent for post opera late dinners. The menu is consistently excellent, food is served quickly- fresh, well presented and very tasty. The decor is relaxed and beautiful. The bathroom is decorated in pink and gold. Unusual combination of art works on display. All in all a wonderful place for meals at any time of day. Thank you for such a lovely dining experience.

An absolutely wonderful experience. We had two people serving us and they were incredibly kind and attentive. I had a small badge on that said it was my 30th birthday. They both took note and brought me a plate saying happy 30th at the end of the meal. Talk about incredible service! The food was also excellent. It was a very special experience and I could not be more greatful.

Took my son after his graduation. Yes it’s a bit pricey but worth every penny after all we needed something just a bit special. Well food was wonderful and worth the money, service was impeccable too and so friendly. Waitress said she was hoping to get a permanent position, sincerely hope she did!!
