Highly recommended to visit. Book tickets online at least a day in advance as tickets sell out really fast. Got to collect tickets at the site before queuing to check bags. Audio guides are provided and really provides a good insight to the state rooms. The interiors are lavish and deliberate and very classy. Nothing short of spectacular. There was a jubilee exhibit on the Queen and some of her jewels are displayed and they are WOW. No photography inside the state rooms allowed. No air conditioning too so it’s a little stuffy inside the rooms during summer. At the end of the tour there is a large cafe where you can buy snacks, drinks and hot tea and coffee and ice cream. Toilets are located outside the building. Then to exit it’s a long walk out about 7 minutes to near the Wellington Arch. Because of the jubilee we got an extension of our ticket to a year pass which was awesome.

Amazing. Not too many rooms included, it is nonetheless worth seeing (plus the fact that you are actually inside Buckingham Palace!!!) - rooms open are mostly the main ones where the monarch entertains diplomats, prime ministers, other heads of state, commonwealth reps, privy council; eg. grand hall, quadrangle 'behind' the frontage of Buckingham Palace that everyone sees from the outside, dining room, painting gallery, music room, ball room, etc and the gardens where the monarch invites thousands to private garden parties. Note: Photos not permitted inside; only when you finish the tour and come out to the gardens and the cafe (no walking on the grounds either)! Cafe has sandwiches, cakes, scones and clotted cream, coffee, tea etc. Public toilets are also located near here at the end of the tour route. Headphones and visual information display included for all included parts of the palace.

I bought the tickets 3 months before ( march 2023). Too crowded inside, many people in the same time. Very beautiful inside all the rooms. Visited July 2023

This is a very popular attraction, and even with pre-booked tickets, you can't avoid the queues to get through security. The multimedia guide is very good and gives you just the right amount of introductory information for each of the rooms without going into too much detail. If interested there are also additional audio on the device in several specific objects in the rooms. The multimedia guide covers fourteen of the State rooms, but a fifteenth room, ball room, has a clever holographic display of what the dancing would have been like at such occasions. Unfortunately no photography allowed inside, but no pressure to move through, you can go at your own pace.

Very interesting to get to see inside the palace and get a feel for how it functions. I thought the Victoria exhibition was interesting in places, but distracted from the primary purpose for visiting - understanding how the palace and the monarchy works day to day. I imagine if you visit every year the exhibitions provide a point of difference and keep it fresh, but that can't be true for the majority of visitors. It can also get very hot inside on summer days, so either pick a cooler day or bring some water with you!

My second time to BP in 9 years and I loved it just as much as the first time. I am glad the ticket earnings go towards conserving this history. The palace is over the top & just wonderful. I love the portrait gallery and the drawing rooms. Staff are lovely and it's a well organised system. I wish I could go back in time and see it when Queen Victoria was alive. Well done to all involved and please keep up the good work.

Well worth visiting if you are interested in stately homes, art or the monarchy. Recommend booking in advance. No photos or food during the tour inside. You can take photos outside. There is a cafe and toilets at the end of the tour (which is around 2 hours depending on your pace). I found the tour a little crowded.

The visitor entrance is on the south side of Buckingham Palace. Pre book tickets with timed entry, e-tickets or printed tickets worked (or pick them up at the ticket office near the visitor entrance). Our group included age 5 to age 70 and we all enjoyed seeing the beautiful rooms, listening to the audio tour, the jubilee exhibit of the Queen’s photos and jewels, and the nice walk out through the park. We spent 2.5 hours here total.

The State Rooms are an excellent insight into Buckingham Palace, however, it was very busy and difficult to see some elements due to the volume of people. The cafe on the terrace at the end of the tour was a disappointment, choice and price being the issue.

Did the tour in Buckingham Palace. Fantastic, loved every minute. Well worth going, and the thought of treading where royalty and dignitaries from all around the world have trodden was amazing.

Very crowded and takes nearly 30 minutes to get in even with a pre-booked timed-entry ticket. The place is no doubt is full of history. I wish there was a quick printed guide in every room rather than a long audio guide. On-site cafe is ridiculously overpriced. The park on the grounds is very pleasant. The overall experience was way more positive in Windsor Castle though.

If you like the monarchy this is your place. The Queen opens these rooms to the public only two months in a year. It's really a great occasion not to be missed. We hadn't a long cue, but there's a strong security system at the entrance, the same you can find in an airport. You are given an audio guide and you seek a pathway inside Buckingham Palace. The rooms are really beautifully decorated and furnished many of them date back to Victorian age. Very Interesting is the private art collection with great paintings from Canaletto and others famous painters and sculptures from Canova. At the end of the tour it's possible to go in a part of the garden usually reserved for official ceremonies. It's a little bit expensive but it's really a unique experience you can have only in this place and only in a specific moment of the year.

A once in a life time to see behind the curtains of the most famous "house" in the country, just to be there is an experience not to forget, to see some of the treasures within the palace was amazing, plenty of areas to just sit ant take it all in and then spend some time in the cafe at the end of the tour then the shop followed by an amazing walk through the palace gardens is breathtaking.

Definitely a MUST-VISIT place, although tickets may go pretty fast. You may get to enter earlier than your appointed time (we got a ticket for 17:00 but they let us in by 12:00).

It was a great experience! We were there at a saturday to the slot at 13.15. We booked the tickets online. It was very full, the queue very long. But it was worth to waiting for the tour. You get there an audio guide, that you can set it in different languages. It was very interesting to see the different rooms. The informations of the guide were also interesting. To the exit you must go through the garden. But before you go can eat something at a pavilon or go to the souvenir shop. For a raisins-scone with clotted cream and fresh strawberries you got to pay 6.50 GBP. It was very delicious. 😉

Well worth a visit. I last visited this about five or six years ago and was impressed again at the tour and the areas you could see. The Jubilee exhibition was great to see as well. Only point to make is it took a couple of hours and using the audio guide is in my opinion a must

This was great. I wished you could see more but what you could see was really good. They tell you to turn your phone off and not to take photographs but the staff are so bored and distracted that it’s really easy to take photos of whatever you want. 👍🏼👍🏼

Buckingham Palace, the Royal State Rooms, were even better than our 1st visit, a few years ago. Seeing the history and knowing current history is being made in these very same rooms. There's no point in posting my picture's. The exit after the tour was very pleasant and a nice walk though the Queens back yard. A nice stop at WC, then onto the ice cream, a must for when we visit. Seeing this again was wonderful family experience.

What a great day really well organised went with Middletons coaches on day trip. Would recommend an organised trip, as u get in without having to wait in a long queue. U get audio guide. A lot of walking but worth it. The caffe at the Palace is not expensive £3.20 for cappuccino.

Not only is this a great tour which I can thoroughly recommend but the staff were the icing on the cake. Flexible & extremely helpful. Every single member of staff we interacted with showed the same attributes. Well done & the recruitment & training most also be recognised. The staff made a good interesting day great. 👍👏

the tour itself takes around an hour. it is a one in a lifetime opportunity to see the inside of Buckingham Palace and the halls were the royal family lives. it is beautiful and some of the items exhibited leave us in awe of the wealth that some of us wont ever even dream of having.

This was amazing. Once you are inside Buckingham Palace there is so much to see that a couple of hours is gone before you know it! The free audio tour is very informative & easy to work. It was so excited seeing in person all the rooms I've seen on television & in pictures.

Wonder place with luxury. They are not allowing you to click photos. There is volunteer standing at every 3 Mt dist and will not allow you to go here and there. The most best things are the paintings. It seems the paintings are very original and their is live inside everyone. Beautiful experience.

Got a view of only a small area of the palace as was at an event not on a tour. Ballroom was impressive (& so were the musicians!), but marred by some of the attempts to update - there was actually a small square hole in one wall! Interesting toilets with a wooden surround/seat (built-in) & a drop flush. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, paying attention to all the small details just as you'd expect. Glad to see the bags are biodegradable eco-plastic.

Lovely ... although one member of staff at the end was shouting at people to return headsets and tablets whereas there were enough people outside able to take them. Then the wasps. .. if you have jam they seem to target you we had 6 which wasn't very pleasant. There are certain things you can do (not able to use your phone to take pictures as they will confiscate it and airport scanning when you go on) so read up before and no toilet access before but they are at the end. Shop is expensive but if you fancy anything special that's where to get it. Drinks and cakes are on the high side.too but worth it!

I wasn't sure what to expect from the State Rooms tour. However, I think it's well worth the entry fee, and the included audio commentary was enough to be interesting but short enough not to feel like a history lesson. Don't forget to look up, some of the ceilings are incredible. Unfortunately, there are strictly no inside pictures. The staff are lovely and you can take as long as you like for the visit. The garden cafe is a bit pricy but enjoy the view of the beautiful gardens and savour the experience of being in the Palace. Unique souvenirs are available in the shop on the way out. Who can resist some Buckingham Palace goodies or a corgie or 2.

Enjoyed the self-guided tour, the Queen Victoria exhibition for this year was interesting and I learnt a lot. The multimedia guide works pretty well. The queue to get through security took a very long time but it is what we have come to expect nowadays.

(Translated by Google) It is a must visit, after all is the Queen's Palace and it is open to the public for a few months in the year. However, we found nothing out of the ordinary. The entrance gates are well identified, separated according to the type of ticket, which are on the left side of the Palace. However, we had difficulty with our queue. A little confusion between entry times. Stay tuned. We schedule our time (mandatory online purchase) to see the changing of the guard, have lunch and visit the Palace.

Love it here. I got a present to visit the state rooms and it was a wonderful and royal experience. They dont let you take photos inside once you enter. Phone have to be switched off and cameras need to be out inside your bag. If I'm not mistaken they do not allow buggies or prams inside either. You have to fold it and take it or leave it somewhere. The security is very high. They check all your bags and its kinda like an airport security style (Not fully though). They give you a guided tour on each room via the earphones and devices handed to you upon arrival.

I have been to many stately homes in the world but this blew me away as for sure you could see it was the palace where there is a working monarchy where permission is granted to visit at certain times of the year and not for tourists and with resident staff not just hired help. Others like Verseilles in Paris are bigger and grand but not kept up like BP. Windsor Castle next.
