3 night stay in London. Great place to stay if you have 3 or more children as you don't need to book 2 rooms like most hotels. Fantastic location in the heart of Kensington. Staff were great, always happy to help out. Breakfast was standard continental, could have had croissants/pastries, Bar/Coffee really handy option. Rooms were what we expected, kids loved the bunk beds, the only downside was the size of the bathroom, tiny is an understatement! If you're looking for a luxury hotel then this is not for you but if you are looking for a place to stay that is central, laid back, straightforward and above all fantastic value then this is it. Would definitely stay again.

I was looking for a hotel close to London attraction points in order me and my family to stay for 4-5 nights. When I found the website of Meininger I was happy because most hotels, either don’t offer affordable family rooms or they are not conveniently located.. I was disappointed when I arrived at the hotel and found out that it was actually a hostel and not a hotel. Main negative points: 1. For a four people room the space was small. 2. The bathroom was unacceptably small. It was actually not a regular bathroom but a plastic box that you could find in a caravan. 3. The water temperature in the shower was not easy to adjust. My kids of 8 and 10 could not use it. 4. On the third night something happened to the heating unit and the room was cold. When we asked at the reception to increase the temperature they responded that we had to wait until next morning because they did not know the password to adjust the room temperature. As a summary of the above, when I did the booking I was thinking that I was arranging for a hotel level experience, while when I arrived I found out that the level of service was that of a hostel that usually one can find as much lower rates.

I stayed at the hotel with my two children, aged 6 and 8 for one night for a sightseeing trip of London. I was pleasantly surprised - what a lovely hotel for the price. We had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and well equipped for our stay. My children loved the bunk beds and they had a reading light each. The bathroom was lovely and appeared quite new. We had a number of towels and the bathroom contains shower gel, shampoo, hand-wash and a hairdryer. My children thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and were very happy to see that you had a proper toaster so they could make their own toast (instead of the usual revolving toasters which are not very child friendly). They especially liked the little sachets of biscoff biscuit spread - their favourite. We heard no noise from any other guests at night but the only reason I have given the hotel a 4 instead of 5 is because the air conditioning unit in the room was loud and I had no way of turning it off as the controls weren't in our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for young families as a good, central base for a sightseeing trip to London.

Hotel was very clean and tidy, the room was lovely. The staff were amazing. There was air conditioning in the room but the room was still not cool enough. The windows are permanently locked so there was not even natural air flowing. The beds were comfortable, towels provided. Vending machine in foyer was available which was good if you needed a drink.

The hotel is wonderfully located. Rooms are compact with good storage. We were out for most of our time there anyway. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was modern and clean. Nice reasonably priced cafe downstairs. There was traffic noise at night but that's expected in centre city. We'll definitely be back.

What a fantastic experience we had as a family in London. Travelling with a group of 6 can get really expensive, and often the biggest expense of any overnight trip is the accommodation! This was the first time in our families experience, where the accommodation ended up being one of the smallest expenses during our London trip. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean, with towels and soap provided! The entrance was smart, clean and inviting. For the price, I really wasn't expecting too much, and around the world I have experienced some rather dingy interiors that rather reflect the "budget" nature of the accommodation... this wasn't the case! There was a great seating section off to the left, with vending machines for food, a games section and other conveniences. It was a super affordable and comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone, and will certainly be returning in the new year (once lockdown has ended!).

I was absolutely satisified with my stay. The location was key to me when chosing my accommodation, and Meininger just couldn't be placed anywhere better than this. Close to the tube, Hyde Park, the Nature Science Museum, in a really clean and lovely neighbourhood. The staff is polite and kind and everything is very well organized. I liked it that we got a little card with a name tag to put on our beds and a key card to the rooms. The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable, I slept very well. I liked the downstairs bar where we could always get a drink or a snack, and chill on the sofas in the evening. I also liked that the showers could be locked up individually, some showers units came with a toilet you could lock up only to yourself. I appreciated that after checking-out we could still store our luggage safely in a designated room. Thank you Meininger, thanks to you I had a great stay in London :)

Our room was small, but cosy , clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Our en-suite shower room was perfectly adequate with lots of hot water and lovely clean towels. Breakfast was self-serve style and we were very happy with the selection available and the quality. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for competitively priced, advantageously situated hotel accommodation in central London.

Really great location, close to the Natural History Museum, bars and cafes and a tube station if needed. Also close to Hyde Park. Great value for a stay in London. The room was small and basic, but just what we needed for anight stay. Beds were comfy, shower was hot and bathroom clean. The receptionist wss lovely, and allowed us to store our bags when we checked out and went for breakfast. Great little place in London :)

I wanted to experience to stay in a hostel room with people, I was lucky I found this hotel for my trip. Nice, clean, quiet rooms, live lobby cos they have a event hall inside the hotel. Location and transportation is very good. Comparing quality-price the hotel is very cheap. Other guests in the room was very considirate and good people. The hotel supplies extra duvet, shampoo, lots of storage under the bankbed and more in the room. My experience staying here for 11 days was very comfortable, secure and enjoyable.

Firstly I was a bit afraid about a 12 bed dormitory, but for my surprise the room was split in two parts of 3 bunk beds each, what made it easier, and each part had its own bathroom. The bathrooms were working very nicely, they were clean and comfortable. And I was lucky not to have anyone snoring in my room! The two nights were easy. Overall it was clean and comfortable.

We had a very good stay at Meininger Hyde Park. The staff was very nice, very helpful and always in good mood. We stayed in a 12 people room, and it was clean and surprisingly quiet. The bathrooms inside the room were very small and not very comfortable, specially when showering or trying to change clothes (the room was shared with men and women). The common areas are big, and I've never seen them crowded, so they are a good place to rest. But still, the overall experience was very good. They do not give towels, so you have to pay for them. But they let you leave your luggage for free if you arrive earlier or if your flight is after the checkout.

I recently stayed at this place for two nights to finish my Europe trip. A few days prior I stayed in another Meininger hostel in Munich and had a good experience so i picked this one in London hoping for the same. The location was good and only about 4 min walk to train. Staff was prompt and helpful. The main reason I picked this place was because it advertised it had Air Conditioning. There may be AC in the main lobby but it was non existent in the rooms! It was very warm and all 6 occupants were complaining about this as well and it resulted in little sleep. Furthermore, we were on the 6th floor and the bathrooms, even though plentiful were very tiny and old and not representative of the online photos. I feel like I got put in the part of the hotel that wasn’t renovated like the online photos. Overall cleanliness was a 3/5. Wifi in the rooms was just fair as well. I think my let downs were because I was on the 6th floor. I have a feeling the other floors have better facilities. Would love to hear from them on this issue.

At first I was apprehensive about staying there, but I'm glad i did. Below is a few key breakdowns of my stay: Rooms: The rooms are a typical hostel set up with bunk beds, but they are nice and sleek, updated for modern times. I thought the bathroom was particularly really nice, and everything worked well Breakfast: Standard breakfast. I would def recommend saving the pounds and going to a Paul's bakery instead, but it was fine Staff: The staff were super personable and helpful. They were great if you needed something or just wanted a chat Overall, really enjoyed my stay!

Firstly, the location was perfect for our stay in London. Secondly, the beds were clean and comfortable. We also really liked the continental breakfast, plenty of choice, good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only slight disappointment was the ensuit bathroom which was extremely small and quite dated (nothing like the pictures on your website of your other hotels' ensuite bathrooms!) Overall, great value for money, we will definitely book with you again. Thank you 😀

Even though the front desk personnel could have been a little more interested in the visitors, we had a pleasant stay at Meininger. In contrary to most hostels in London, Meininger has an elevator. The rooms are small but this is normal in London. We booked a 6 bed mixed, but got beds in a 4 bed mixed instead, which was a nice surprise! The showers are clean and nice, and there's plenty to choose from. Beds are your usual hostel bunk beds. Toilets are clean though the sanitary bins could have been emptied more often. Location is perfect! Just 30 mins from Leicester square, restaurants and supermarket just around te corner. We were three girls and have not in the slight felt unsafe and we were out until late. Wifi didn't work in our room on the 6th floor which is perhaps something to take into consideration. Overall one of the best hostels I stayed at in London! Would definitely book again.

We were 3 adults, 3 children. Kids were happy with the 6 bed room. Very comfortable and clean. Better than we had expected. Family friendly, little play/tv area for the kids in the main hall. Could have had more board games for the kids to enjoy but they didn't complain too much. Next door to the natural history museum and around the corner from the science museum. Customer services were very friendly and helpful. Only issue was parking, but that's a London issue not the hotels issue.

This is the 2nd time that I have stayed here & once again my stay was stress free and very easy. The 24 hour reception is great and means you don't feel you have to race to the hotel to check in. I was in a 12 bed dorm room & I slept extremely well. It was a mixed dorm and everyone was very quiet & considerate with no disturbances in the night. The buffet breakfast is brilliant and if thou purchase out when you check in you get £1 discount. Will be staying here again😀. Thank you for a great stay 😀.

The location of the hostel is perfect! Walking distance to two subway stations and directly opposite the Natural History Museum. We were traveling as a family and felt very comfortable. The cleanliness in the rooms was very good, only the "bathroom/cabin" was really small. Overall, it didn't detract from anything - both we parents and the kids thought it was nice...
