The Taj st. James Court is a nicely placed hotel not far from Buckingham Palace and the major attractions. I would love to give it a 5-star rating, but its not quite there. We stayed in room #738 and to be perfectly frank, it's a little tired. The hair dryer was missing from the room, carpets were fraying, the towel heater was broken, the bathtub front panel had peeling paint and the shower rod was rusted. That being said the staff is wonderful, the courtyard beautiful and the lounge and restaurant very appealing. It's also wonderful in that gives a quiet respite vs hotels on a main street. With a few tweaks, room #738 and the older rooms will be back to where the brand and public areas demand. I'd rate it a B for rooms and a A- for staff and location.

LGBTQ+ Friendly 💜🌈 Such a wonderful hotel. A space of tranquility yet so perfectly positioned for all locales of London. The hotel is clean, staff attentive, and very welcoming.

Recently stayed the week at St. James' Court and would definitely give the hotel another try. Every aspect of the stay was exceptional, EXCEPT for our room. Although the room was spacious and clean, we were put in the older section of the hotel; the hallways and room/bathroom were very well worn and aged. We went with another couple, and their room was in the remodeled section. So if you are making reservations, make sure you request updated rooms. The staff is nothing but first class, always friendly, knowledgable, and there to lend a hand. Other than the room, one could not ask for a better location. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. There is a great coffee shop across the street and many pubs close by.

Very nice hotel with a lovely restaurant and great staff providing friendly service. When we arrived we were asked if our bags could be taken up to our room. We asked if we could be given a larger bed which was granted and much appreciated. We did not find any tissues in the room and when I asked a box of tissues they were dutifully supplied. Our room did not have any USB charging points and because we did not have a British adapter for Australia power conversion we asked at the front desk and they provided us with a UK to Australian PowerPoint converter. There is a bit of noise from the underground metro but it stops in the evening and doesn’t run all night. If you Book your room with breakfast provided you’ll be able to use the Buffet and in addition waiters will provide you with a menu for cooked items which you can choose from a set menu. Breakfast menu items includes scrambled eggs, poached eggs, waffles pancakes, and eggs Benedict amongst others. Breakfast uprights from seven until 1030 in the morning. You are close to the St. James station metro underground, plenty of places to eat outside the hotel and also a nice restaurant in the hotel. The hotel includes a health spa, fitness gym and pool. The concierge is very friendly and helpful along with the doorman. Front desk staff are always willing to oblige.

Went to have the Diwali 2021 feast with my friends! The food is extremely delicious (especially the dal makhani) and spinach mushroom vegetable. The desserts were not so good. Also, they take a lot of time to serve so order well in advance. Also, they served us chicken instead of paneer on the auspicious day and never bothered to apologise either :( UNEXPECTEDLY GOOD: We got the opportunity to light crackers and feel the vibes of the Indian festival of lights (it wasn’t planned)!

We stayed here for 8 nights. The location is fabulous and the hotel is super kid friendly. The room was big and well equipped (if you have the option, choose the recently upgraded wing of the hotel). Also, the staff is amazing. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. We enjoyed the daily breakfast options and again, they went out of their way to make sure the kids got their choice of food, including special cups for their milk :-) Always a fan.

I recently had the pleasure of booking a stay for my parents at The Taj Hotel in London, and I couldn't be more impressed with the exceptional service and hospitality they provided. From the moment my parents arrived, it was clear that this establishment goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and valued. The staff at The Taj Hotel are truly remarkable. They treated my parents with the utmost respect and care, making them feel like VIPs throughout their entire stay. The attention to detail in ensuring their comfort and satisfaction was evident in every interaction, from check-in to dining experiences and beyond. The accommodations were not only luxurious but also meticulously clean and well-maintained. The Taj Hotel's commitment to excellence shines through in every aspect of their service, from the beautifully appointed rooms to the delectable dining options. My parents were particularly delighted with the gourmet dining experiences offered at the hotel's restaurants, and they couldn't stop raving about the delicious cuisine. The staff's attentiveness to their dietary preferences and needs was greatly appreciated. In sum, The Taj Hotel in London exceeded our expectations in every way. The impeccable service, elegant surroundings, and the warmth and respect shown to my parents made their stay a truly memorable and delightful experience. I wholeheartedly recommend The Taj Hotel to anyone seeking a top-notch hotel experience in London. Thank you for treating my parents so well and ensuring they had an unforgettable stay.

One of the most disgusting places I’ve ever stayed at! If it wasn’t too late, I’d leave right now. Smells like somebody died in this room, the AC barely works, and the room is completely disgusting. Stains all over the carpet and walls. Stains on the bed covers. The room is old and smells terrible. The bathroom is not properly cleaned. Everything about this hotel is disgusting. Only good thing is the service. The people are nice. Location is good, so we are planning on spending as little time as possible in this disgusting place. Update: Added 1 star because after posting this, they tried to get in touch to see if there was anything they could do to make it better. Too short of a stay, and we didn’t come back until very late the night before check out, but at least they tried.

The people make this place what it is - the service from everyone was fantastic and my check-in and check-out experiences were nice and quick. The foyer and the floors are all designed beautifully too. Of course, the location is super ideal. I had food twice when I stayed and both meals were made to perfection. The amenities in the room were plentiful and the water was hot. I did have a few gripes: - my room is screaming for a refurbishment - I felt and heard every underground train going by and I was on the third floor; my sleep was not great as a result - it's quite loud outside and I feel like a hotel like this, and for the price you pay per night too, you'd expect some double or triple glazing

Very clean and modern rooms (the recently upgraded part of hotel). Most all staff were friendly but there were obviously some in the breakfast area that looked new and kind of lost on what to do. Location is idea with proximity to Buckingham Palace. You can get lost finding your room in the beginning. Our room was across the courtyard in another building(not far). We accidentally walked into a building facing the courtyard which was actually a different hotel. Some clearer signs could be helpful. The courtyard area of hotel nice but often filled with smokers. Our room did not have a view outside the windows but maybe others do. Rooms were spacious and air conditioning was a lifesaver. Showers were also very very nice. Breakfast was decent price and a buffet with lots of food options. Overall, it was a good stay and would consider staying here again but would probably stay somewhere closer to the Thames River.

The hotel is very central and there are many good restaurant around it - Not more than 3 Stars, value for the money okay. The staff are very friendly and supportive - Deserves 5 Stars The rooms are, let say, a little bit old and it still smells a bit of smoke - Deserves max. 3 Stars. The restaurant and bar + surrounding very nice - 4 Star at least. Breakfast not tasted yet, will give an update on it.

I booked a Premium room and it was definitely worth paying a bit more. The room was beautiful, and very pleasant. I had requested a quiet room, and I was given a quiet room. I have high expectations when it comes to cleanliness. My room was extremely clean, with everything in the bathroom shining. Roberto did an excellent check in too. The staff at the doors were also always very welcoming. They offered me an umbrella since it was raining a lot. I did not need one since I had mine in my bag, but I appreciated the attention. I had to take my breakfast in 10 minutes and the restaurant manager did his best so that I can. And I could. While a few minor things could be improved, overall my experience was very good because of the quality of the room, and the infrastructure in general, the cleanliness, and the excellent service and attention of all the staff of the hotel, which were definitely at the level that one ought to expect in a « real » 5-star hotel.

Visited London plenty of times over the last decade, but never had a hotel stay quite as pleasant as this one. The staff were all fantastic and greeted you by name whenever they saw you which i thought was a wonderful touch. The rooms were impeccable, spotless and roomy, and the staff couldnt do enough to make sure your stay was comfortable (even down to delivering the types of nespresso pod i asked for). A particularly big thank you to Valerica, who made check in particularly pleasant and fast, and upon finding out we were visiting for my birthday allowed an early check in so we could shower before heading out. I usually only use trip advisor to whine about issues with places, so the fact ive felt compelled to come leave a glowing review should speak for itself. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be back very soon!

I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this exceptional place in the heart of London. It offers unparalleled cleanliness and a remarkable commitment to customer relationships. The convenience of being just a five-minute walk from the train station and within easy reach of Buckingham Palace, along with numerous other attractions and shopping options nearby, made it an ideal location. In summary, I was extremely satisfied with my experience and felt that it offered excellent value for money.

This was our second time staying at the Taj, 1st time as a family. The staff were friendly, the check-in smooth and we were given a soft toy for the the baby at the time of arrival. A proper cot had been put in the room for the baby and not just a travel cot , that is a available in most hotels. The breakfast had a huge selection of both Indian and continental food, which was good. The location of this hotel is amazing because it is within a 10-30 minute walking distance from most of the touristy places. We ordered in room service and they have a small menu for babies as well and the khichdi that they provided was so yum. Always a good experience to stay here.

Great location for us attending a meeting next day. The room was spacious and well appointed. The shower was great. Bar staff were very attentive. Breakfast was phenomenal, we've never seen so much at a buffet breakfast. Very impressed.

Very disappointed. The hallway carpet and walls look like a 1 star Days Inn. Feels like such a bait and switch from what I saw online. The hall floors are legitimately hollow like their made of plywood. So odd and the staff didn't help at all, looked at me with a blank stare and offered no help. Only saving grace is the nice location otherwise this would deserve 0 stars. There are so many other options in London so I would avoid at all costs.

My 25th stay in as many years and still my overall favorite in London. The location is superb. Service is friendly and very good by London standards. Quilon is world class and a total steal. The renovated rooms are nice the others show a bit of wear but spacious. Lately some loose ends such as food quality at 51 but overall a fantastic value proposition

Had the most fantastic stay here for a work trip in London. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Food and bar options delicious and easily accessible. But best of all - nothing beats this location! An easy walk to just about anywhere from the palace grounds to the park to shopping and cafes. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel is excellent with extremely good service and ambience. I was upgraded to a room. The room was comfortable and with all the amenities that you could imagine. The breakfast was great with loads of choices. The only slight niggle is that the waiters were very keen to remove the cutleries when I was not quite finished. I believe for the price I paid for the room, it was extremely good value

  • 2/5 Liam W. 3 months ago on Google New
The room and location are quite nice; however, the service was quite disappointing during my stay. The wait for breakfast was long, which is to be expected. However, after a 40-minute wait, we had to check in with the hostess only to find that she gave our reservation to someone else. Being that we were on a tight schedule and had to leave the same day, this ruined what would have otherwise been a pleasant stay.

Bad: -Worst beds in any hotel I’ve ever stayed. -Very bad room service and communication. No one answers the phone early morning. And when they do, they forget your order anyway. Happened 3 times in first week. Gym is tiny. -Wife needed a bowl, they charge £5 to bring a tiny bowl to the room, every day. They should put that money toward buying new beds! -Their clean towels stink, bad. Good: great location, great doormen, large rooms, but super super dated. Review: Owner should fire himself. Could be a great place if some money was thrown into it and care was shown! Won’t stay here again but mainly because of beds being horrid and service being way subpar for the price point.

The friendly staff from the time we arrived and we were greeted by the awesome Brett, very friendly and helpful, always asking how are day was! Front desk personnel and manager always greeting us with a smile. Breakfast staff too, all provided excellent service. Of course, nothing could beat this hotel's location, within walking distance to everywhere! esp. Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey etc. We had a very lovely stay at this hotel, would definitely come back soon!

The rooms are amazing, the bed was ridiculously comfortable, the breakfast/room service/food options were all absolutely delicious, and the location couldn’t have been better. I cannot gush enough about all the amenities & comforts, but the true highlight of my stay was the staff. The people really made the place - everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely wonderful. Oh and the view of Big Ben & Westminster was a nice surprise as well!! 5 out of 5 stars doesn’t do it justice!!

The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive. We stayed the night for an anniversary weekend in London. Upon arrival they upgraded our room which was a lovely surprise. The room was amazing, the spa was a hidden gem and breakfast was very good too. All for a reasonable price. I would recommend.

  • 4/5 Ed H. 1 year ago on Google
We enjoyed our stay here. A feel of luxury without having to spend a fortune. We stayed in one of the classic rooms which, although they are yet to be revamped, the style is timeless and suits the hotel. The view over the courtyard is lovely. There is a lack of sockets though and lamps have to be unplugged to charge phones and there isn't even a plug for the kettle. Also at this price point I'd expect a coffee machine in the room. The room was clean although this could be improved as there was a cotton bud on the bathroom floor. Service was all round great. Staff all very professional and courteous. Only gripe is they ask for a 5% tip at checkout in a very presumptuous way which I find uncouth. Breakfast was top notch. A lot of choice. You will have to queue if you want to eat at peak time though. Also, waiters couldn't explain what the items on the menu were which is crucial when serving a foreign cuisine with no details on the menu. We chose the hotel due to proximity to Victoria Palace Theatre but it's also in a great location for sightseeing as it's near to Buckingham Palace and Parliament. Overall I would stay again and recommend to others.

I stayed at this hotel on the 1st of October for my weekend trip to London. This hotel is excellent in every aspect! The receptionists and bar personnel in the front lobby looked after me very well from the moment I stepped foot inside. The spa was fantastic and the food top notch! I have to give a special mention to the staff in the TH bar though! Alessio is a fantastic asset to this establishment and kept conversation flowing and my glass full the entire time I was there! Thank you and see you again next time!

I’m giving it 5 stars because their bellhop Fabio went to extraordinary lengths to find us a taxi when we were leaving. Because of HRH funeral, no taxis could get to the hotel. Fabio carted our luggage 2 blocks and waited with us till he could find us a taxi. He saved our trip! Overall, the hotel is beautiful, service is excellent. They upgraded us to a junior suite when we checked in. The maid service was awesome and they came in twice a day. We ate in the garden and food was just okay.

Went there for a 2 nights spa break, belated Birthday present from my son and daughter in law. Had a brilliant time. Excellent service, attentive staff, very good food. Several yards to St James Park. Room spacious, very clean, with a proper coffee machine. Room rate not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Will certainly return.

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. They compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be let down. This has honestly been one amazing stay. The premises are beautiful and we have been treated like kings. We had a free premium upgrade, late checkout and a surprise cake delivered to our room in the morning.

Stayed here for 4-5 nights. Its location is awesome- right in the heart of central london. All the iconic places like Buckingham palace, london eye, big ben etc are within walking distance. The hotel is nice. Staff are helpful and very warm. Rooms are decent but the corridors are a bit boring. The washroom is big and nice. It was a very pleasant stay.

This has honestly been one amazing stay. The premises are beautiful and we have been treated like kings. We had a free premium upgrade, late checkout and a surprise cake delivered to our room in the morning. The complementary yakuzi and sauna were the icing on the cake!

From the moment we checked in, I knew I would be writing this 5* review. It is the best hotel we have stayed at in the UK by far, highly recommended. From the offset, the level of service and detail they provide to make your experience feel special is outstanding. We were celebrating my best friends birthday, of which I had sent a note via my Booking.com reservation as I was requesting ideas as to how to make her time even more special. Not only did every single member of staff we came across wish her a Happy Birthday but we received a complimentary upgraded room, cupcake and choc dipped strawberries sent to the room and mimosas' with breakfast. I was not anticipating that such a large hotel would care too much for a one night stay birthday celebration but they made us feel like we were their most important guests! None of this was asked for by us or insinuated - this was all off of their own back which just made these surprises even more wonderful! The room was spotless, beautiful and the decor was so modern and unique! Only note was that in room 758, there was an annoying noise coming from the shower most times - this was not something we were too phased by as every other part of our stay was amazing. The room had an espresso machine, kettle, mini fridge (empty - handy for bringing own drinks), huge TV and a safe all free to use! The breakfast was included in the booking; the choice was unbelievable, I have never had that many options in an included buffet breakfast before. Everything was cooked so fresh, nothing was sat around for long without replenishment. The spa facilities were also included in the booking - cannot fault this spa one bit. Again, the service was fabulous, so welcoming and staff were replenishing towels/mopping the floor to avoid wetness around the spa pool and lounge area. The facilities themselves was beautiful and temperature was perfect for a tranquil spa feel. 10/10 The thing that topped our visit and made the most impression on us was the level of service and care the staff took. Nothing was too big of an ask and they were so attentive to anything we may require. Wonderful staff all around, so welcoming and accommodating. The hotel overall is a hidden gem within London. Prime location, beautiful grounds with stunning decor and amazing staff and food. I will 100% be recommending this hotel to anyone who will listen and will definitely book for every overnight visit I have to London from now on!

Such a great hotel! We had a lovely time here. The staff were all very friendly and the communication before we arrived via email was very efficient. The hotel is very nicely decorated inside and the room was spacious and comfortable. We made use of the spa too. They have a small pool with a sauna and steam room. It was nice to be able to use this free of charge. We definitely recommend this hotel!

From the moment we arrived , the staff were extremely attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We had the most incredible time, the room was perfect and the food was delicious. The surroundings are amazing too- particularly the courtyard. Will definitely be coming back!

Spent two nights here and really enjoyed our stay in room 248. The room was clean and furnished well. The staff were attentive without being overwhelming. Nothing was too much and you were not made to feel bothersome. The courtyard was lovely and relaxing to spend quiet time in away from all the hustle and bustle of Westminster. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful and again the staff courteous and attentive. The concierge was knowledgeable and familiar with travel routes and best options for our needs as tourists to the city. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend the Taj St James' Court to anybody wishing to visit. Thanks to all for making our stay so wonderful.

Small rooms, bad view, room looked directly onto a brick wall. Bathroom basic. We booked a renovated premium room. Breakfast situation was terrible, made to wait in a queue for 45 minutes to get into the breakfast room, other guests had to wait one hour. There were lots of very frustrated people. Never experienced anything so bad at a hotel before. Staff communication was awful, we were not spoken to once whilst we waited or apologised to. There was no prior warning. Not the nice relaxed Sunday morning we were expecting. Just generally very disappointed in this hotel. Pros, room was nice and clean, bed comfortable. But I would never stay at this hotel again.
