Avoid this run-down and poorly-managed hotel at all costs! The hostel-priced hotel was one of the worst mistakes I've made as a traveler. The reduced fare is not worth the atrocious management. Our initial room had rubbish in the rubbish cans, a heavy window just barely secured with coffee stirrers through holes that once held a lock, a non-functioning AC unit that kept the room at 26*C, broken and scratched furniture, and a carpet that was last washed when there was only one Star Wars trilogy. We tried calling the front desk to ask for someone to help us with the AC but the phone was dead, so we went downstairs and asked for a change of room to one with working AC, only to be offered to have some staff open the window for us (you know, removing the sticks). After threatening to ask for a refund we were offered a room upgrade, with the manager constantly reminding us how much more expensive this suite was than the one we had booked. The new room was bigger, so the still non-functioning AC was a bit more tolerable at 23*C, but we still had to ask for the window to be opened. That was a mistake because the DLR runs every 15 minutes really close to the property. The toilet had a faulty tank and a staff member had to show us how to jiggle and wiggle the lever to make it fill the tank after flushing. If you want towels or toilet paper you have to go and pick them up from the front desk yourself, as no amount of complaining will make housekeeping come to your room (apparently something all guests painfully learn judging by the number of other guests/victims who were complaining every time we went there). Of course, a change of bedding was impossible during the whole week. On the bright side, it has a very convenient location. Everything else is terrible. It's not worth the low cost, for that money a good hostel would be an infinitely superior choice.

A run down hotel with terrible service. The staff are not at all friendly or welcoming, verging on rude. Check in took an age. Four staff on duty, only one serving the growing line of guests. Rather than a smile and an apology for the wait, simply barked at - “next”. Very much given the impression, that I was interrupting something more important. The young lady charged the wrong rate for the room, which mean that I was blocked out of the room the following day. As far as I was concerned, that was not my mistake, and with the appalling quality of the room actually rather fair. I was treated as though it was my fault, no apology, no attempt to meet me in the middle or compensate me in any way. My key was taken away from me and I was bluntly informed that I could find a new hotel for the night. Eventually we got a new room, not that it was much better. The first room had a fair amount of mold in the bathroom. The carpet was filthy. The AC was old and difficult to use. And the old spring beds creaked and rolled back and forth without much help. A window was also open, which resulted in the rain during the night coming into the room. No handles on the window but lots of holes where they might once have been. Eventually we got it shut and managed to secure it with a screw which we found lying on the window sill(!!). The second room was cleaner and had a more modern AC that seemed to work better. The bed was quite but the end of a metal spring stuck through all the covers and could have badly cut my feet if I had not noticed. With the steam from the shower it was also possible to see the half hearted way the large mirrors are cleaned. WiFi is advertised as free, but that is only in the lobby and bar. In the rooms it is an additional £7 per day. Sockets next to the bed are old 15amp sockets – so it is not possible to plug in a smart phone or any other device to charge. Not recommended.

Personally I would not recommend this hotel. It is extremely dated and run down. The building feels as though it is 100 years old (unbelievably it was built in 1992) and has never been taken care of. Some of the rooms don’t even come with a window and the rest of the rooms do not feel clean and inviting by any means. Whilst the WiFi is advertised as included online you must pay a further £7 per day per device to use it in your room (it’s free in the lobby) I find this to be extremely expensive especially if you’re staying for a more than just a few nights. The staff are constantly dealing with complaints from guests which clearly leaves them with no sense of pride for their job. Many of them just don’t seem to care anymore and I don’t blame them as Britannia Hotels has clearly given up on this site. If you’re planning to book anything more than one night please do some serious research into this hotel. A quick Google search of the Britannia Hotel chain will suffice and probably set off alarm bells for you. The English Breakfast that can be purchased with the stay is terrible. I have never experienced a hot buffet breakfast so greasy and soaked in water and oil. It may suffice for one morning but any more than this you’re better of finding a local cafe or chain. The only good thing about this place is it’s location. You have quick walking access to Canary Wharf Station and the Underground shopping centre and there doesn’t seem to be that many unfavorable people in this area at night.

Great location near the waterfront and views from the main area. Good view if your room has one. Rooms are spacious. Our first rooms heating didn’t have the heating work but we got a much nicer warmer room swap with a nice view. Comfortable beds!

STAFF STEAL FROM ROOMS. I left my coat in our room, when I advised the hotel reception I had left my coat, they insisted I hadn’t as there was nothing on the housekeeping “log”. I challenged this as I knew I had definitely left it. The hotel called housekeeping who maintained there was nothing. I advised I would be reporting the coat as theft to the police, to which they asked me to hold off. 10 minutes later, the Receptionist appeared with my coat advising that the housekeeper thought my coat was rubbish and therefore binned it. This was a complete lie. For a start, my coat looks nothing like rubbish. The hotel was fully booked as it was the marathon weekend, yet they were able to search through 400+ rooms of rubbish and find my coat in 10 minutes and return it in an immaculate condition, with no odour. I followed up my complaint in writing and asked for the situation to be investigated, to which the hotel responded to advise they would look into things and would contact me with an update. Almost 4 weeks on, and they have yet to update me, despite my chaser emails. Looking at other reviews of this hotel, the senior staff should be aware of theft within the hotel, yet they are not doing anything to stop it and seem to think ignoring the problem is the way forward!! In short, if you want to go home with all your possessions, book elsewhere.

Wouldn’t recommend, hotel in general looks nothing like the photos. Decor is out dated, some outlets were faulty, shower only had two settings (boiling hot or freezing), bed was uncomfortable and half of the elevators were constantly out of service leading me to walk 9 flights of stairs, walls are too thin and you can hear pretty much everything in the other rooms. Only positives were the price and the customer service. However that does not make up for the faults and other issues we had. Wouldn’t stay here again….

I rarely leave review but this hotel should really train their restaurant staffs again. I was checking emails and having breakfast as a habit and be told I should stop using my laptop and focus on eating because “there are 200 people waiting in lines for my seat”. so I put my laptop away while trying to finish my breakfast, 15 minutes later another staff came and tried to clean all my plates while I was still eating! That time I noticed there were lots of empty tables so I felt a bit weird. But they are right about the part that “so many people waiting” though. When I came out there are 8 people waiting in line trying to come inside but no one waited there to let them in. Insides, full of empty tables and staffs keep busy on cleaning! It was 8.30am when I left ( they closed breakfast at 10am) so I don’t quite get the logic of operations here. Customer outside waiting and customer inside forced to leave uncomfortably despite so many empty tables around in the middle of morning. This is a hotel restaurant, a business, customers pay to stay and eat here. They should not feel less welcomed than a charity event giving food away for homeless people. I have stayed many places from a cheap hostel to 5 stars hotel, the experience in this hotel restaurant is probably the worst experience of all times. Chaotic, hostile and unprofessional. Afterall, I still decide to give 5 stars for their reception and room service staffs and hope the hotel will continue on improving the part that particularly affects the standard and reduces overall quality of their service that they all worked hard to achieve lately.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is dated but has a certain charm and is good for the price. Great location. I will say the hotel could use some cleaning and updating. Dirty carpets, heavily worn furnishings. Our first room on the 1st floor had a mouse inside, we called reception and they quickly vacated us and moved us to a nicer room on the 9th floor. So really if you stay here you want to go as high up in the hotel rooms as possible.

Location great as was out the way of central London but with plenty of connections into The city via the underground system (only around a 5-10 min walk to the stations). Additionally, right next to large shopping centre with plenty of places to eat. Rooms were clean and comfortable, if slightly dated. However, the buffet style dining in ‘Jenny’s Restaurant’ served a limited selection of bellow standard food which was often not hot enough. The roasted meats were dry and tough, the curry’s were too watery, etc. I can’t speak on the pizzeria or the room service as we didn’t get either.

Awful, do not stay. I stayed in summer for meeting in London. Certainly not air conditioned as advertised. Update... I complained and was allocated a different room. A lot more comfortable. Although past best you can see previous grandeur, which i love. Still clean and well presented if a bit shabby. Greatful for the room change. Changed rating from 1 to 5 stars.

Rather tired hotel which is past its prime. Upon arrival we were greeted by a mouse in the bathroom! I saw no other signs of mice while there (admittedly only one night) so perhaps it was just a 1-off. Anyway, after passing the live mouse over to hotel staff, the rest of our stay was uneventful. The room had been recently renovated and was reasonably nice; breakfast was "budget" but OK. You get what you pay for in London, and the price of this place was pretty much consist with the overall experience.

Room was good, that's where it stops to be honest! 45min queue to check in didn't go down well after travelling and just wanting to get into your room and relax. Breakfast was appalling to be honest. Good selection but the quality of the food was poor at best. Only the cheapest of ingredients and that's exactly how it tasted. The orange juice was watered down so much it had no orange flavour at all. We left Breakfast and then took the lift which broke down between floors. We tried getting attention with the alarm button to no avail. Mobile phone signals were poor and when we did manage to call the hotel no-one answered. 25mins of extremely hot and claustrophobic conditions before the manager forced the doors open. He was only alerted to our predicament because we managed to call the fire brigade who turned up and informed him!!! Never again

Nice location, but the hotel is very dated. Had a basement room which wasn't the best. Right outside the bar so noisy. Very small room with no windows and low ceiling. Air con couldn't keep the room cool. Bath/shower was OK but couldn't sit on the toilet, unless sideways or with the door open. At 8am and the cleaners came, so on. It was clean though... I won't be staying here again... Maybe a good cheap option for some and maybe good for a purpose but, not for me

AVOID THIS PLACE! Constant fire alarm at 6am until 9:30am management went into hiding, wouldn’t let people know what was happening until much later. Everyone was panicking but still in the lobby, they didn’t even evacuate the building. If there’s was actually a fire it would have been fatal as there’s absolutely no protocol in place. Rooms are dirty, smell of marijuana, full of drunks and not family friendly at all. There’s too many good hotels in London to waste your money on this place.

0 star!!!!!! This was an appalling hotel. As we were checking in they offered us an upgrade with a window view and air con for £20 we Declined this offer . We arrived to are room to see are window fully open as we couldn't close the window are hand would be chopped off. After we went to get are food we asked about the heating he gave us an office heater. After a long day of walking me and my dad wanted to fall into are comfy bed for a nice sleep but it was anything but comfy it was like sleeping on a rock.My dad also mentioned a light right next to the window saying that it should me in the middle like a normal bedroom.as we walk in the bathroom there is a step that I had nearly tripped over a thousand times.Don’t come here look over the road

Staff was really good and helpful. I asked the receptionist if he could kindly change us to a room with a river view. Thankfully he had one available and didn’t hesitate in sorting it out for us straight away. Though there are some minor signs of age in some parts of the building, it’s beautiful and worth the money. Next time we visit London, we’ll definitely stay here again!

Acceptable only because it's cheap. Rooms and entire hotel are very outdated. There's a difference between well kept with a traditional design and seeming like it's not been done up since the 80s, this hotel is the latter. It was probably once a grand hotel with it's design but that has long gone. Bedside cabinets and desk all had broken drawers which either didn't open or had handles missing. Bathroom had clearly had work done over time but tiling was just filled with filler. Heating in room was broken and stuck on 28 degrees but did hit 30 at one point. Asked reception and they said they'd send someone. Window being opened slightly was their solution but was far too hot and could barely sleep through the heat and noise. Would have been good to have been offered a different room instead of "that's the best we can do" by the lady who seemed unsure of everything at reception

Booked this last minute because previous stay was cancelled. Its quite cheap however it is reasonable for how my stay was like. It is quite grand upon entry, lots of people and a queue to check in. Reception staff were nice. However. Upon visiting our room, it was old and outdated. Window was the size of a small bed desk. Heating doesnt work, so was left freezing. Smoke alarm was very sensitive to the point where bathroom door must be closed immediately as the steam will set it off. This was especially reinforced through hotel staff banging on our door and then proceeding to swear at my partner. We did not know the smoke alarm was that sensitive and triggered it accidentally and got warned that we’d be kicked out if we did one more time. Overall, did not like this place at all.

We had to book something quick and this was the first one that came up in a good location for us in London. We paid £89 for a one night stay on a Friday night. When we got to the lobby it looked dated but spacious and busy, which we thought signalled a good stay - we were wrong. The receptionist was friendly and nice enough so nothing wrong with the customer service, however we couldn't find the room for the first 10 minutes because no one explained to us how the numbers worked! Then when we FINALLY got to the room, it was windowless (which reception told us) which wasn't a big deal at first, except there was no air con! Instead there was a simple desk fan that blew hot air across the room. To add to this, the room (and hotel) was BOILING HOT! We dumped our stuff in the room and went to the bar to get a drink, there was a VERY limited selection of stuff available and the bar tender didn't seem happy to be there at all. When we went to sit down, the sofas on the lower side smelt very funny, a bit like urine, so we moved to the complete opposite side and ended up on a torn leather sofa. I mean, if you want to be in a sauna for a whole night, then book here. I must have lost about 10lbs just in sweat from the night heat as well as tossing and turning. We got up as early as we could and got the hell out of there! Never staying here again, would rather pay more money to go somewhere else then this.

Stayed at this hotel as apart of coach trip for 5 days 4 nights. I couldn’t fault the hotel one bit. The hotel is very spacious, large and has 12 floors. Bright and nicely decorated. Rooms were clean. We had a problem but that sorted promptly and the food was plenty of and also delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and is close by to shops and places of interest.

Seemed like a hotel that was falling apart. Water being dripped through the lobby as they moved whatever was damaged out of one room to outside, one of the elevators out of use but not clearly marked so. Ordered Pizza from the pizzeria, the price doesn’t match the size of the pizza but also something just tasted wrong, had high hopes it would be decent but should’ve listened to previous reviews. Also strangely wouldn’t give us a couple of glasses for the Prosecco we had bought along with us to celebrate a late valentines, first time encountering something like that, just seemed like poor customer service from that side of the hotel. The rooms are covered in dust, on the wardrobe, up the walls etc, tv too small and far from bed, had damaged pixels in our one. The chair is the corner was covered in makeup. Felt like no attention to detail was done at all when cleaning. However was a good night sleep, good view and well located to then get where ever you need to the next day.

We actually stayed last night as it was a last minute booking We feel extremely let down by Britannia, and feel like you tricked us. We booked a double room and you gave us a twin! I was actually mad to think you'd even consider a free upgrade and would have been happy with the double I booked in the end. Our 11 year anniversary was ruined by your lies, we would never have stayed in a twin room but had no option in the end. I'm furious as this was my gift to my husband, £139 was way more than I would ever have payed had I known what I was letting myself in for. This review will go on every platform I can find.

Exceptional value, considering location. For ~£130 got a huge room (pictured)+English Breakfast. Decor a little tired but room was clean. More than I expected, for the price. If you're looking for affordable Canary wharf accommodation, I highly recommend. Good connections to the City & Central London too.

Horrible hotel in a great location Rooms are dated, windows broken. Hot water didn't work and in this day and age they were asking you to pay daily for WiFi. Didn't get the room we booked, and had issues with reception. During my stay I saw so many people with the same complaints. Don't go here, there are better alternatives

Great location! However, that is where it ends, unfortunately. Do not book rooms without windows as it is unbearable to be in those rooms- Central ventilation was blowing hot air and it is impossible to sleep or even stay in the room. Obviously, the pricing is very appealing so there are many many people. Evening check in hours are associated with long queue for check in - at least 25-30 min in line despite 2-3 persons working at check in. Had to cancel and stay in a different place

We came here on a 2 day trip with Caledonian to see ABBA Voyage. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round. Staying in Canary Wharf was great for short strolls into the shopping centres and along the wharf. A train station is just over the footbridge. Food is available in the hotel's pizzeria and Jenny's Restaurant which serves buffet breakfast and evening dinner. The food and service is excellent. The rooms have everything you need. Thoroughly recommend.

Superb location for canary wharf. Lovely and big reception and decorated beautifully for Christmas. The rooms were very clean but old fashioned (and I had a bible in my drawer!?) Breakfast was lovely but the buffet dinner time was disappointing. But the pizza restaurant was good!

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This site will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you definitely will love it I'm sure! Having a wonderful stay in this conveniently located hotel with great value for the location. My stay was made extra special through the friendliness of Victoria on front desk. Thank you for making my city break that extra special. Will be returning!

Lovely building and amazing art and decors. I kind of didn't like that i couldn't open the windows on my room but i guess due to the floor level and health and safety they had to take precaution. They have a good ventilation system in the rooms. The rooms are big and cosy. The breakfast options are various. Tippicaly british breakfast. 5stars for the food but 1star for the coffee. I would come back again only if they are promising to make better coffee. The pizzeria was great and all the staff were absolutely lovely. Overall it's a great place with great staff, great food, bad coffee, great rooms with views. I would recommend it as a 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Terrible. You want to check in early? There's a charge. You want an empty glass to take to your room? There's a charge. Want their wifi code? There's a charge. Frankly, I shocked I wasn't charged for using the water in their kettle! There are far better, less greedy hotels out there, so take my advice and avoid this one at all costs, unless you enjoy being fleeced.

Great location and efficient check in/out. Bar service and patio pleasant. Didn't try food etc. Booked last minute and took room with no windows in basement. Not bad but wall vibrates all the time - think aircon units are bolted to the outside. Not actually noisy but would choose better room if booked again. Enjoyed night view of Canary Wharf and ease of travel.

Great value hotel. The bar was relatively cheap (£4.30 a pint) and I’d highly recommend the bruschetta if you’re ordering food. People seem to complain about the decor, but I enjoyed it - it was like stepping back in time. A nostalgic, well managed hotel. Room temperature was good - well air conditioned - and the bathroom was clean with fresh towels. The room had a flat screen tv too. The only issue was the noise of the air conditioning unit at night. Will stay again.

I stayed here with my partner and we both loved the view that captured landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye, the Shard and Tower Bridge. The style and decor is slightly old-fashioned but that is not necessarily a bad thing. All the facilities were clean and up to a good working standard and the location of the hotel was very good for the price. The staff were very friendly especially Ivet. Me and my partner are planning on coming back here in the future.

If you enjoy hotels that make you feel like you will be gruesomely murdered in the night, then this is the place for you. I am convinced that Stephen King visited the Brittania International Hotel and was consquentely inspired to write The Shining. The hotel does an excellent job of making you feel like at any moment you may discover the truth behind Elisa Lam's death. The lady who checked us in was miserable, but I was not offended as I was sure she was part of the living dead, sentenced to an eternity of checking in mortal souls to their doom. She informed us that they didn't have any double beds, as they are "subject to availability" (no indication on website!!) but she could give me a room with a window. After going to our room and checking every nook and cranny for some deranged murderer, we noticed that they had kindly pushed two hard, uncomforable twin beds together. The window view was a glorious concrete wall. We managed to stay an hour. I was sure that we would have a reenactment of the first episode of American Horror Story: Hotel with two leprous freaks bursting from the mattress to knife us to death, so we left. 0/10 absolutely do not recommend.

  • 3/5 Ben S. 9 months ago on Google
There's a sense of faded grandeur when you go in. Like how I imagine a cruise ship looks before it's decommissioned. The room is fine but again feels dated: everything from the way the toilet flushes to the old mattress where you can feel the individual springs. The receptionist when we checked in seemed quite bitter. She clearly didn't want to be there. Great value and location though!

  • 3/5 J. P. 2 years ago on Google
The price is low/night therefore I guess you-get-what you-pay-for. The mattress was so hard, it was like laying on a board; the wardrobe and the bathroom door did not shut; the sockets near the head if the bed use circular plug-pins, the dust between the wooden headboard was at least 1cm in depth. The breakfast was bog-standard. On the plus side, the staff are very polite, friendly and professional and a nice location.

Location - canary wharf. 👌👌👌 Service was quick, easy, and all the staff had a smile and were very friendly. The room was disappointing. It was clean, but the bed was hard, and the shower just threw water all over the bathroom floor. Was like a flood had hit the hotel.

Location is brilliant if you are looking for around Canary Wharf. However, the service is awful: no house keeping, no trained receptionist. Also, the room is old and no UK charge. Price is ok, and I would appreciate the shower, water is strong.

This hotel isn’t bad and cheap, but the smell of air freshener is so overpowering everywhere it makes me wonder what smell they are trying to hide. Some air freshener is fine, having an overpowering unavoidable overbearing smell is not, it’s unpleasant to experience, maybe it’s a ploy to make people hide in their rooms and pay for the overpriced 7 quid per 24 hours wifi.

  • 2/5 Tony A. 5 months ago on Google
Our experience was less than stellar, to put it mildly. The room we were given on the first floor seemed more like a stuffy sauna with no escape route for fresh air – a windowless chamber of discomfort that had us sweating like we were training for a hot yoga championship. Even our trusty fan felt like a feeble attempt at salvation. And don't even get me started on the parking situation – once the underground lot is full, it's a nightmarish hunt for a parking spot that feels like a game of hide-and-seek gone horribly wrong. 😓🔥🚗

You get what you pay for. I booked this hotel last minute after fleeing a horrible hostel. As someone said, "faded grandeur": outdated and bad decorations, ugly yet big rooms. The shower didn't have hot water in the morning and they clean the rooms on request, no air conditioning, bad vibe overall, it's like your grandma's wardrobe and old bedroom in the shape of an hotel. Clearly not a 4 stars (and if it was, it wouldn't be so cheap). Perhaps 50 years ago... EDIT the room is not sound-proof at all...every time someone walked outside and talked it felt like there was no door at all. YET the position is good if you like Canary Wharf, it's decently clean, the rooms are big. If you don't want to spend too much and you are in an emergency this is a good option.

Fawlty Towers is the only way to describe this place. Great location but absolutely filthy hotel. Windows, carpets, restaurant, lobby and furniture are all in bad need of a rub of a cloth. The breakfast was freezing and looked like it wanted to cry. The tiny cups for the tea and coffee are like something from a child's tea set. Queues at reception were 20 minutes long all the time I was there.

My experience in staying in this hotel was mixed feelings. The night reception staff were friendly and warm welcoming. They listen and help you with your needs. The hotel decor was generally old fashion and feels that you are back in time. The room we stayed in was spacious and had the basic facilities required. However I am very disappointed with the bed frame and mattress that needs upgrading urgently. It was on wheels and the mattress felt very uncomfortable and the frame squeaking when I move position in bed. The bathroom needs refurbished as you can see mould. Very old victorian tiles... The room decor needs to be modernise and kept simple and bright. It had artwork of random ladies and some inappropriate for any guest in my opinion. The AC and switches was very old fashion with vents that could be upgraded. I am not sure if it worked properly. The view was ok. My colleagues did not have any window and was disappointed. Parking is £25.00 whole day. This is extremely expensive and should be paid by hotel as part of the room booking. However location is very good. Heart of the Financial sector Canary wharf. Overall would I stay here again. Politely no. I would recommend ibis Hotel or travellodge or a Premier Inn if you traveling into London for the weekend or short business / leisure break.

Nice hotel. Large rooms at a reasonable rate for London. Hotel rooms are getting slightly dated, but all seemed clean and tidy. Breakfast buffet is good for the price, and kids will like the fact you can sit at a window right on the dock with the water next to you.

The location was great, the bed was comfortable. Our room had quite a lot of little damages. I loved how quick the bath filled although was unable to empty it as the plug suctioned too tight. One lift was out of order so going too and from our room could include a 20 minute wait. Staff were friendly but check in was a long process due to a long queue even 3 hours after check in time because staff checked ID and rooms were not already allocated. The noise from the tube also disturbed our sleep.

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is the best rated in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you won't regret it. Apart from the faint smell of weed in the elevators on my first night, the rest was great. Decor is slightly bonkers, but nice, the room sizes are awesome, I had a lovely view of the dock. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was ok,even though we were in the "Executive Room" on the top floor it was like sleeping on top of the overground. Breakfast was paid for as part of the Room yet when we went down for breakfast in the morning,we were handed 2 small brown paper bags with a couple of items inside, felt like i was going back to school. We also had booked a late check out but housekeeping opened our bedroom door at 09.35 to come in to clean when we weren't due out till 11am.

Our room was in the basement and a bit cramped it was impossible to get to one side of the bed without climbing over it. However it was clean and comfortable. We didn't eat anything at the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great location for the O2. Super easy from here.

Having read some bad reviews after booking, I was hesitant about our forthcoming stay. I'm glad to say we were pleasantly surprised. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Our room, the bathroom, bedding and towels were very clean and the bath was huge. Good water pressure in the shower. Good choice for breakfast. The only fault was the quality of the coffee. I had juice but my friend said the coffee was not great. Overall, a pleasant experience at this hotel. Would recommend as very good price.

This must be the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. My room had dried blood on the side of the bath so I was given a new room. That room was not really much better. Filthy marks on the wall next to the sink and also above the shower. The food is very basic and appears to be recycled across the days. (Monday's roast beef joint becomes Tuesday's Beef curry). The pool on the website has not been at this Hotel for years. The whole Hotel is in need of a major refurbishment ( why this was not done during lockdown I don't know ). Three days into my stay I was locked out of my room. Reception told me they believed I had been under charged £6 on my bill........ seriously, I'm certain this could have been handled more professionally. ( it turned out they were wrong ). I visit London frequently, but will certainly not be returning to the Britannia International at Canary Wharf.

Cleanliness is outstanding. They are so concerned about their cleanliness the maid totally disregarded the fact I was start fished on the bed with my bits out and started to clean. 10stars

Similar to many of the other reviews the hotel is massively dated. The room was tidy, the bed was comfy the only real issues I have with the room is lack of sockets by the bed (they were what seemed to be old 15amp sockets!) And that there was hair stuck all across the wall in the bathroom. The staff were very good to me the reason for my score is actually the attitude I saw them give other guests I found quite surprising. Good area, close to tube and DLR.

I liked this hotel for its economical price and its location. I booked a room with a view of the docks, but at first the receptionist settled my family on the first floor without a view, when I complained the manager moved us to a beautiful suite with a wonderful view at no extra charge. Liked the interiors and views Didn't like that windows don't open and don't do daily cleaning. Internet only at the reception

Probably not to everyone's taste. But I liked it. You need to remember this is an old building. On arrival, the staff was pleasant considering the customer before me was rude, the staff remained professional. We were upgraded to the executive suite, which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious and had a lovely view of the docks. My personal experience I would definitely stay again as the building and interior had character. However, the carpet is dated and could do with a refurb. Breakfast was lovely and a variety of options. The downfall mostly for me was parking. It is extremely tight and small, especially for the price. I drive a large car, and at one point, I didn't think I could get out. I did about 10 point turn. We had to park 15 mins walk away to a 24-hour car park, which is again tight for large cars. Overall stay was lovely and fit for purpose.

Me and my wife have just returned home from a long weekend. We arrived early for check in Friday, about 4 hours. But no problem we was allowed in to our room which was a double executive. Large wardrobe, large bathroom with good shower over bath, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities. Check in was very pleasant, reception staff very helpful. 2 types of restaurants and staff very very friendly and helpful. Only one downfall a lack of electrical sockets only one spare. First night room was not over warm, reported to reception and as promised a temporary heater was delivered promised a temp to our room within 10 minutes. We will return soon for another short stay with no problem

I got a room at very short notice at a fantastic price. Was warned on booking that the room would not have a window. No problem for that price, and I was staying on business, so not actually spending much time in the room. I was warned again at check in, and then upgraded to a larger room with a view for free anyway. Check in was friendly and efficient, the decor in the room was no- thrills and a little dated (so I only gave 3 stars) but it was clean, had kettle, tea/coffee, ironing board, hair drier and everything I needed. I think WiFi was extra, but didn't need it. Very pleased with my stay, especially for the price in a very useful location for Canary Wharf.

This looks very glitzy on entering, the staff are helpful but not over the top, the corridors leading to the rooms are dated & tatty as was the room. Patched up wallpaper which wasn't even the same colour, stained carpet, chipped skirting boards. The bed was comfortable with a quilt that just about fit the bed so not ideal. But for one night's stay it was ok. Breakfast was a choice of cereal, toast, cooked breakfast which was rubbery, croissants but not really as they were doughy & not very nice to eat. This could have been five stars if they just put in the effort with the rest of the hotel that they put into the foyer.

The staff are extremely friendly. Very clean. Hotel room big but tired. Food absolutely atrocious all obviously out of the freezer. Not worth the money. Couldn't actually eat so total waste. Couldn't get drink in what they called a restaurant! More like a cheap dining room for a cheap package holiday ,but less food choice. Now I know why you pay before you eat! Bar staff no idea about alcohol. Was actually asked if the Tia Maria and sambucca I ordered , if they were in one glass!!! They didn't know how to make a cocktail. And check out 10am and can only check in after 4! Car park utterly ridiculous. Someone needs to sort this out. The only reason I didn't make a fuss was because it was supposed to be a treat for me. I won't be going back and I certainly won't be recommending to anyone either.

Rooms were decent, but air movement was lacking, the window didn't open very wide and there was no air flow from the system in the room. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices and well stocked. The staff was friendly.

Its cheap as a hotel, roughly a 30% cheaper than other hotels in the area. This is for a reason, it's not high quality and the rooms are at best average. The service is pretty terrible, but the location is great and its cheap, which makes up for it. Would use it again if its cheap, an example of the adage "you get what you pay for"

Really if you come to London, avoid this hotel, when I arrived they told me that I did not have a reservation and that I should make it again, they treated me badly, and when I spoke with my guide, he told me that they already had the reservation, after talking more 5 times with the lady by magic, the reservation appeared, but my reservation did not include the cleaning of the room, which if under normal circumstances it seems unethical and disgusting to me, on dates of a pandemic it seems somewhat annoying, upon arrival When I went to the room, I was very surprised to see that not only was the treatment horrible, the mattresses felt their springs, the beds were all expired, the towels smell like cigarettes, which makes me understand that they didn't even clean the fourth, but that is the label that it was "sanitized" if they put it, I don't know who comes up with it, leaving USED towels, it seems to me that this is something that I can't even believe, the next day I go down to the buffet, and I serve myself my food and an orange juice, and the star egg On the other hand, it looked like jelly, swimming in grease, the orange juice spoiled, the glasses smell dirty and the cutlery dirty too, but that's if the tip container was there. If you want to be treated as if they were giving you the nights, give you cigarette-smelling towels and make you sick with food, please come visit them.

Location wise its great, close to things you want, thats where the good times end! The room was an internal room with no windows, after a few hours struggled with the stale air and the smell of the seemingly centuries old carpets. Staff were fine on the one occasion we ordered a drink from the bar. Room wasn't cleaned in the 3 days we were there luckily we were in the room very little so didn't have to put up with how depressing the place is!

Good old imperial style hotel. Arrogant and unfriendly staff behaving like landlords making you a favour. All amenities are quite old adding a cool colonial atmosphere. Great view from the restaurant and the lobby bar. Good breakfast.

Hi, Whenever I visit London , I have always stayed at this hotel, because it’s situated in one the best locations in London. My experience with this hotel has always been amazing, for the very first time I was disappointed with the lady manager at the reception. We had an issue regarding the power, the lady manager was so rude to us and said if we had any issues we can go out of the hotel. She literally said get out if we have issues. She did not even hear us out. She was so arrogant and said us she will cancel our bookings. If we have problem with the staff we go to manager. But what if the manager has so much arrogance and disrespect towards the customers to whom should we complain to ?? It was on 1st week of December. We could see at the reception that the lady manager was rude and yelling at other customers too. I think she needs to learn some manners to how to hear out people and be polite. She is genuinely spoiling the reputation of the hotel. How can she even be a manger ? Apart from that the rest of the staff are very nice and cooperative. Thank you

Honest review. I've got to say after reading reviews I wasn't expecting much! I'm a bit believer of you get what you pay for. I travelled with my disabled friend in a wheelchair the whole hotel was accessible. Our room was very large and it was spotless I cannot fault the cleanliness of the room. The staff where very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good pretty much what you would expect for a buffet breakfast. It was a cheap 2 night break for us and it was fine for a base I would stay again
