Rooms were dirty, surfaces were sticky and disgusting, rooms probably a little dangerous, like it was just the ruins of a hostel. One screw just dropped on the floor when I opened the door. They said in the contract that there will be breakfast but there wasnt, and they still advertise it with breakfast option, but they completely deleted that option irl. It was a traumatic experience and I suggest you to dont go here. This hostel would even be very bad if it was for free. Higenie and being safe and the contract being correc is essential and you dont get these here.

I had very low expectations about this place because references are awful and my experience was very positive, nothing to do with the bad things I read. The only thing I didn't like was that I really needed a cold shower, oh Goddd. And there wasn't any cold water and it was so hot these days in London, I was sweating so much and I almost pass out under that hot shower's water. Really. The staff very attentive, specially through email. The girl working there was nice but I had the impression that she didn't speak/understand English very well. The bathrooms were rather small but when you get to hostel you kinda expect no luxury. The location is awesome. I was happy with the price as well cos I payed 43£ for two nights. I stayed in a 9 beds bedroom. The bed has a thick blanket, a good pillow, fresh sheets that you must put on your own (like in every hostel). The worse of the room was something out of the control of the hostel and it was the extremely unrespectful people who wouldn't mind to be super loud from the early morning, like if they were alone in their houses.

The WORST of THE WORST, this place should be BURNT!!! So smelly, so dirty, unsafe, hair everywhere in the shower and flooded bathroom, showers stopped while I even have time to rinse, still had soap on me that dried on my skin while complaining to the reception, they couldn't care less and didn't fix anything, toilet soooo dirty, sticky table in the kitchen ,even our pizza boxes got glued to the tables and left marks. I am chocked places like that are still open !!!

Location is great and the price is okay, but be very realistic what you get for it - the rooms are quite cramped, not very clean and lots of guests seem to stay really long time, i.e. looking for work and stuff. That creates a certain contingent. I am alright sleeping on a dense mat right next to an open window, but I imagine not everyone would be okay with that. Things do disappear. Kitchen and common space open for one hour in the morning and 6-10pm or so in the evening, inconvenient. Showers had hot water during my stay though, in contrast to many comments. Cannot recommend.

On a positive note the staff at the front desk was very nice and friendly. I paid around $235 for 4 nights. I paid a bit extra because I got the 3 bed female dorm. Even though I had a female dorm it seemed everyone else on our floor was male. There were tons of males in a shared bathroom. The room was teeny tiny and had a triple bunk bed and nothing else. There were no lockers for large backpacks in the room. The lockers were on the first floor and my room was on the third floor. I had to walk up and down the stairs every time I wanted something from my bag. I’ve been to hostels all over the world and have never been in that situation. The room was right next to the bathroom and we could hear every detail of people going to the bathroom all day and night. The toilets were often dirty and clogged. I don't know how many people shared the two toilets on the floor but it seemed like there was always a wait. It wasn’t quiet at all. There were people yelling and talking on the phone at 3am and all hours of the night. There were tons of flies even after the cleaning persons were there. I read another review that said their room had a lamp and outlet. My room did not have that. There was a terrible smell and the entire hostel seemed really really old, rundown and dirty. The location is about a 15–40-minute walk from most central places. I know it’s a budget hostel and was not expecting something fancy but if they have some pride, it can at least be decent. After staying in dozens of hostels around the world, this is the worst one. You can definitely find something for at least the same price that has higher standards than this. Yikes!

If i can put -5 i will. The place is not clean at all and there are many insects in the room and the floor and the beds are not clean, also blanket and sheet are dirty and the mattress is not comfortable at all , you will feel like you're in prison also there is a bad smell all the time!!!! what my made me angry, is in the whole of my floor which it contains around 45 person there is only 2 bathroom and only 2 shower room and they are too small which is not matching with what written in hostel's properties. i reserved 7 nights but I made check out after 2 night , and the person on the front desk didn't ask me why you're leaving early!!!

This is the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in all of Europe. Facilities are fine but management makes it worst, especially the lady in reception who is an arrogant and I kind off observed a racist angle too. They would not switch on heaters even if it’s damn cold before 8pm in the evening. I will never ever recommend this to anyone.

This hostel was the most disappointing of the four I stayed at in the past two weeks. If negative stars were an option, I would give it that. The actual conditions were far from the appealing pictures they presented. Although Manager Charles was helpful and pleasant, my experience with staff member Liliana, an Asian woman, was quite the opposite. She appeared condescending and unprofessional, especially in contrast to her friendly interaction with a previous white guest. This inconsistent treatment left me perplexed. Whether due to my appearance or not being a local, I cannot say. Regardless, I strongly advise against choosing this hostel. It falls short of expectations and is a regrettable use of money. I'd prefer sleeping at a bus stop over staying here again.

The people who work there are absolutely disgraceful and have no respect for the customers! Nothing to do with the managers the managers are spot on, however the front of house are horrid, They’ve kicked me out the hostel as Javed is a horrid man, I’d advise people not to stay ever they charge people loads for the hostel to look an absolute disgrace, there’s insect crawling around. Not happy what so ever

It is not the most comfortable accommodation but It’s a very affordable for someone with no other option. The rooms have bunk beds which are a little crowded and there is no separate room for males and females. The bathrooms are not inside the room so if your room is close to the reception, you may have to pass through the reception to get to the bathroom. They have Wi-Fi and at the reception you could buy a few consumables. The staff are warm and friendly.

I am just appalled with the quality and was definitely not worth my money: - disposible masks and chew gum was stock to beds as if ignored by not cleaning rooms properly - dirty beds, dirty shower/toilet facilities/ unprofessional and disrespectful staff -staff moves and STEALS customers belongings - cold shower! 🥶 clogged toilets - no tour of the building, you had to find our own way about the facilities that was advertised - facilities closed to the customers, even though we paid fully for this. -no health and safety - at all! Don't waste your time or money. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!

Staff was very accommodating and welcoming, they were checking on us even before we arrived - doesn't matter we were nearly 3 hours late due to the tube strikes and traffic, they worked it out for us anyway. That's the spirit of the hostel. The room was alright, nothing special for the typical hostel, bunk beds, shared toilets and shower on the corridor on each floor, so all good. Each bunk has its own electric socket, that's super handy to charge your electronics over night without worry.

Pros: Location and nice staff. Room was warm, duvet provided. No issues with the hot water. Cons: You have to be out all day, no matter if it's rainy or cold, as the opening hours are very restricted - same with your luggage, there are NOT ENOUGH lockers (2-4 in a 12 bedded room) so you have to leave it in the luggage room which is only accessible during reception opening hours. There are many people living there permanently and they are not very welcoming to passing travelers. No movie nights, people are not friendly in general. My room was nos cleaned in 3 days.

Tragedy. I would not recommend it to anyone. Terrible dirt, fungus on the walls, we were afraid to touch anything not to catch something. The beds were dirty, nobody cared about any cleanliness of the rooms. When we saw the conditions there and the smell, we wanted to go to sleep at the railway station or look for another hotel or anything. I discourage anyone to that 3 people were snoring in our room and for 2 whole nights we were sleeping after an hour ...... Absolute mess, dirt, disgusting smell!!!! Photos and information on booking com of this hostel are lies!!! Do not be fooled big money you pay for conditions like in a stable!!!

That what you got for £135. Had a big issue with the room and decided not staying there. dangerous black mold on the ceiling, luck of air, my friend has breathing problems and we couldn’t stay there as it’s become dangerous for the health. in addition toilet smells so much that it’s coming to the room. had to pay extra £4 for the towels that even been wet. dust on the bed mattress I could write a word there . Walls are dirty. This place requires to call hygiene control or what organisation work with it. Truly once they see we left they had to offer refund but they just been surprised, and charged as we didn’t show up!!!!!

Stayed for one night when visiting London. I think the hostel was good value for money, the room was clean and tidy. Staff were polite and wished us safe travels when we left. Personal preference, I prefer a key card system for room keys but understand the reasons they have opted for code lock on doors instead. Keep up the good work.

I have stayed here for at least one night each summer since 2017, I think with the exception of 2020! It's located about a 20-minute walk from Waterloo and there is a 24-hour bus stop just 200m away. The staff are either friendly and helpful or very friendly and helpful. You get cereal and bread / margarine and jam (which can be toasted) for breakfast and tea / coffee. The beds are fine imo and each bed has a usb thing and a lamp. Access is available 24/7 and depending on when you stay, you can get very decent rates. Book through their own website for the best rates !

There is mould everywhere. All facilities are in bad condition. They put zero effort in the hostel. Common room is uncomfortable and it closes at 11:00. There are cheaper and way better hostels in London.

I've never been in such a nasty place in my whole life. 1st night we were there we saw a man getting dragged into an ambulance because he had passed out in the kitchen! The rooms and anything else are clearly not clean, there's dust everywhere, there's not even an effort to make it look somewhat clean. The bathrooms do have toilet paper and the shower has hot water but that's the bare minimum. They also say they offer free breakfast but I've never seen a hostel serve it AFTER 10 AM so in other words they probably chose this schedule so they could have as few people as possible partake of it. I sure didn't since I pretty much only went there to sleep and shower during the 4nights I was in London. Please get some cleaning staff, the conditions you currently have are inhumane and especially so considering the pandemic.

This is a truly great hostel which is perfectly situated just a few minutes from the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey across the Thames in London-Waterloo. You will get a code so you can access the hostel even at 4 a.m. Rates are super low.You will not find a cheaper place to stay anywhere else in London. Breakfast is included and they also have a stove for cooking and a fridge where you can store your food. You can store your luggage while you travel in the UK. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

For the price I paid, it is very good value for money, so i'd give it 5 stars in relation to price. Could do with curtains in room 4 though! Receptionist is flexible and usually keeps breakfast and the lounge rooms open for longer which is nice too.

Only one hot plate in the kitchen and the cleaner always throwing guest’s belonging without asking. The bunk bed in the room are too fragile, they shake a lot. Overall it’s too over priced, definitely not worth it.

Payed for 3 nights and stayed for one. Not only was there black mold in our room but it seemed to be everywhere along with rot.

The worst hostel experience I have ever had. Unless kitchen: the two bruner hot plate was broken but that doesn't matter since there were no pots or plates. The beds had plugs pur bunk. The electricity to the room went out in two rooms the front desk reset them. The front desk worker begrudgingly worked, he was very rude.

Nothing like on the pictures. It is somehow near the big ben which is nice. One of the "clerks" speaks a very heavy with Accent English and is difficult to understand. Had to buy a padlock for a locker so people wont steal from u. A bit dark. I would not go back

It isn't very clean and the toilets aren't in a good state, you can't change the temperature of water in the shower and the rooms are small, but it's just 20-30 minutes to the town-centre and it isn't very expensive.

  • 2/5 Lisa A. 2 years ago on Google
+ affordable - common area closed before 10 am (includes kitchen) and hang out area - neat + easy booking + nice staff - no personal storage space - 3 bed bunks where you can't sit up if you are not up in the 3rd - only warm showers, no cold water available - semi clean but not too filthy + good location + silent neighborhood - shared shower and toilets with the entire floor - toilets often without paper I was told that there'd be a breakfast but in my two night stay I didn't discover any such occurrence ^^

How does this place have two stars?? It was full of loud and rude guests causing havoc all over the place. Reception is no help and they are clearly just random people shoved there for an hour a day to placate guests. Once I arrived I heard about rumours of bed bugs from another guest and left immediately. Absolutely not worth the risk.

You cant use kitchen during the day saying its a goverment restrictions, but they have no problems putting 8 people in a very tiny rooms and this includes self isolating tourists! Rooms showers very dirty, if you move bed you see thick layer of dust so its evident thhey dont hoover under the beds for years, the corners in shower arent clean as well. They use a very strong bleach for floors causing a lung issues in people. Matrass is just a gym pad and your back will suffer. I dont think this hostel worth more than 15£/night.

  • 1/5 Shelby E. 2 years ago on Google
The building, including our room was dusty and dirty! No warm water in the showers. Manipulative management. The lady came into the room without our permission or warning and stole my towel and wouldn't return it! Claimed she's not sure but she might've taken it. I would not waste my time to stay here unfortunately!

  • 1/5 Rachel B. 2 years ago on Google
Avoid at all costs. Reception is only open for a few hours a day but there's no notice of this on the website or when booking. This meant I couldn't check in at the time I arrived at and had to either carry my bags with me to the event I was working at in London that week or book somewhere else. They were informed of the time I would be checking in and accepted it.

AVOID LONDON WATERLOO HOSTEL - BEDBUGS!!!! I stayed a week at this hostel, but the good reviews are fake! My room had bedbugs and they just didn't say anything until the 3rd they! When I wanted my money back from those nights and to have a complimentary night (at least) they got super mad and tried threatening me. When they noticed I wasn't giving up (my whole body was itching and I was standing at reception in just a bathrobe) they kinda gave in. They said/threatened with no posting online!

12 bed room with 2 lockers is a bad start. "Extra" lockers are up another flight of stairs which is just silly. Generally unclean, obvious that the owners aren't interested in the upkeep of the place (torn carpets, faded paint, damaged plug sockets, locks on room doors that don't actually work so your belongings are extremely unsecured at all times). The staff member at the front desk clearly doesn't have any interest in doing his job either, barely even acknowledged I was there. Only booked in here as needed to bridge a gap between work days and it was relatively close to Waterloo. Avoid this place.

Three friends have stayed in this hostel, and the experience has been quite unacceptable. The only saving grace is the location, the neighborhood is perfect, communications and being able to walk to the center of London. But the basic things like cleanliness, facilities, beds, nonsense... As soon as it happens it seems that the site is dismantled. Not pleasant smell. The only bathroom per floor is always dirty, as is the sink and showers. It is very insufficient for the number of people per floor there are. In the three days I did not see the facilities clean at any time, and the bathroom was literally disgusting. In room 3, you can't even move, you can hardly even leave your suitcases inside. The beds have mattresses that are the same as sleeping on the floor and the sheets look as if they were 20 years old. I understand that for the prices in London it is a cheaper option than others, but it is not that it is a hyper low price... Still, I believe that minimum hygiene conditions should always be in place. Laura.

The staff is really nice. You can always chat with them. If you travel alone, you can always do the planned activities with the group, so you get to know people from around the world. It's really fun, because in one week you get to see most of London, with a fun group and nice activities. The common areas are really well organised, it's never too crowded. I always could shower whenever I wanted to. Really good hostel, for the location and the price. I would go there again.
