Rooms are extremely tiny, no space to move, cramped dark, stuffy and smelly. Shared bathroom had no ventilation, smelt terrible and had mold. Bag was stolen from ‘locked’ bag room. Staff refused to help or look over any security footage. Avoid.

Worst customer service ever. I booked a room back in 2019, then covid happened and they refused to refund me (only provided a voucher). As of today I haven’t been able to travel, due to the covid restrictions, I contacted the hotel asking for a voucher extension and the agent Amanda didn’t even try to assist me, she was confrontational and argumentative from the very first email with her and simply told me that my voucher expired. Avoid this hotel.

Do not go!!! There are full of thieves and robbers. Many people's stolen iPhones and AirPods are found here by Find My, and the reception and police refused to help!

Extremely clean hostel, underground which is interesting, so not the greatest ventilation in rooms. Good social life, boring breakfast but got the essentials. Great location, transport nearby, and very walkable places to go to from this hostel. Most important comfortable bed, pillow and relevant privacy. Stayed in a 7 bed dorm as well as a 4 bed dorm. Showers are 5/10, timed shower head and communal showers.

For the price we paid it was great. The rooms were small and kind of gloomy but since we didn't spend much time there anyways it really didn't matter that much. Bathrooms were good, not that clean but clean enough. We were impressed by the big area downstairs with a community kitchen and seating. The hostel is located in a quieter area and there is a bus stop right next to the hostel if you're not too keen on walking there after a long day 😉

Great price, great location great staff. TERRIBLE security, poor safeguarding and combative. Would pick somewhere where I feel safer next time. Edit due to reply from business: I talked to the staff, who were helpful. It was the security who made the situation unsafe. They were unsympathetic and tried to kick me out at first for reporting a problem. A scary experience.

Staff Took my reservation and I prepaid online from USA. I've stayed for previous two years without a negative experience until now. Upon checking in I was informed I could not stay because my age was over 45. I questioned this new policy and asked why they did not inform me once they accepted my reservation and money, considering they had my passport info from the previous 2 years. They claimed it is now a youth hostel and would allow me only one night, then left me to find somewhere else. Never mentioned I could have rented a single room alone...which they offer"older" customers. Not an experience I wish on any traveler coming from across the ocean and/or another continent. I have changed my 5 Star rating to 1 star.

I had a great four-day stay at Clink78. I was in an 8-person room. They did a good job of booking people into the room who would also be there multiple days. There were a few people who came and went, but for the most part I was familiar with most of the people during my stay. The toilets and showers were what I would expect at a hostel. Very simple and acceptable. The Community areas were great. The TV and Computer rooms were unique and kind of fun to spend some time in. The bar area was fun. A lot of room to find a place to sit. I met great people there that made my trip even better. I loved the location of the building. A bus from the Kings cross station dropped me off right in front of the building. The bus wasn't really necessary either. It was only a short walk to the station. There are plenty of restaurants along the way too. Overall, great experience.

This place was absolutely iconic. I stayed just a couple of months before the pandemic hit and now it feels like those memories come from a past era.. very weird feeling but it adds up to the nostalgic vibe. Students, laughs, colourful, wacky and labirintic spaces. And the study room in the court. This place was a vibe.

The room was overall very good, the only point is that the walls were not insulating at all and we heard absolutely every conversation from the people passing by the corridor. However, the cleanliness of the room was really appreciable, and the quality of the breakfast was impressive. My friend and I loved the pancakes machine! I would totally recommend this place for a short stay, and for people who do not worry too much of noise. Moreover, I think it is a good place more for young people than for a family or adults looking for tranquility.

Cool and stylish hostel. I booked a whole four bed dormitory with a group of friends. We consumed the air in our very small room very quick and there's no aircon and you can open the windows only for like 5 inches. The toilets were quite okay, but the cleanliness of the showers could be improved. The common rooms and the bar are a huge plus. Great places if you're into socializing!

Bad place! The windows were moldy and the guard at the entrance was such a pain. Even stopped us for bringing an ice-tea bottle, thinking it was alcohol in it. Unnecessary.....

I made sure I have asked about the times of kitchen opening as I am a gluten intolerant. I was told clearly that kitchen is closed between 7-10 BUT I STILL CAN TAKE MY STAFF FROM THE KITCHEN. I came to the kitchen at 6 am to make sure I have my breakfast nice and with no coursing problems towards the staff. I was welcomed ( first I came to the kitchen area) by a very aggressive and rude young member staff who with no even "good morning" just screened : "kitchen closed!" I explained to him I was informed it's closed from 7 am and that I informed staff I am gluten intolerant. He would not even allow me to use a kettle!. The other staff member in reception was even more rude. He said:" so what?! Now you gonna make our kitchen dirty after we all cleaned it!?" I could not believe it. At 6 am I was left to go to work with no hit drink and eating my gluten free rise cakes in the reception. When I spoke to manager, she briefly alopolgised, yet was very distant ( and clearly didn't know what gluten intolerance is, which she should ) and told me they do prioritise customers who buy breakfast in the hostel!. I was gobsmacked.

My friend and I had a very pleasant stay. The accommodation was as described, small but clean nonetheless. It was quite worth the prices. The bar itself a great place to have a drink and meet new people. Shared bathroom spaces were always clean, only negative remark I can make is that the lights turn off too soon. Aside of that, the option during breakfast are kept simple but good either way for a quick bite. Shared kitchen space was a great use for evenings together with other guests! Totally would recommend going here if you are in search for a budget friendly stay that comes with the perks of young adults, a free spirited community and clean space.

I’ve stayed here a few times already. It’s cheap, clean, safe and comfortable. Everything you need in a hostel. There is a shelf, a light and charging stations above every bed which was great because that way I can sleep knowing that my valuables are next to me and I will also hear my alarm clock in the morning. Very good locker space. The showers are clean and spacious. Also there is a very nice bar and a lounge. 10/10 would recommend.

This hotel seems odd from an exterior point of view but the ceiling inside the entrance hall is AWESOMELY beautiful! Moreover, the breakfast is really delightful (taste little pancakes, really). By the way, the Wifi is good so you can optimize your time there and enjoy the rest of your time outside to really discover the city of Londom without being annoyed by your work. Just in front of it, there's a little snack shop which sell American chocolate that I'm found of now!!! So if you're not American, let's go there and eat it (I'm French guys!). Plus, it is close enough from several little restaurants so you have a lot of choice if you wanna have a lunch or dinner. Here are some pics of what you can eat in the little shop (Hersey's is definitely the best chocolate I've ever ate) and in a traditional londoner restaurant. The only bad point which makes me giving this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is the size of bedrooms, even if they are former prison cells I think they could be more spacious for a better comfort.

The kitchen staff was very rude and they dont give food to people and with 300 people only one hour time is given by kitchen staff to come and get same food which you had on breakfast or lunch and only one box they give you.

This I guess is a great place if you aren't too worried about space. The first room I was put in was absolutely tiny and you could hardly move in it, definitely no room for a big suitcase to open on the floor. The second room I was changed to was a 6 bed one with bathroom, the bathroom was small but usable. Shower was good, lack of ventilation but for my overnight quick London stay it was OK. Not sure if stay here much longer than a day or 2 just because of the space situation in the rooms I had seen.

Nice place with good vibes. This is the perfect place to stay if you are traveling on a budget. Good location, very close to King Cross and acceptable walking distance from the city center. The staff is friendly and helps you with indications to visit the city. The y have common spaces where you can cook something, chill with other people and a bar for drinks. When I was there the toilet was a little bit dirty. Was my first time in a hostel (14 beds room) and the experience was amazing, i'll repeat for sure!

Enough to say that I found people sleeping in my bed twice, because of the mess-up during the check in. My friend got checked-in for a wrong month and only hours after his arrival it turned out that the place was overbooked and there was no bed for him. The staff said 'oops', shrugged and told him that he should look for somewhere else to stay, it was already 2 am. Only 30min of arguing later they 'found' a bed for him. Rooms and bathrooms are tiiiiiny, staff is just rude and unhelpful. Forget bedlamps or a plug by a bed. A super disappointing experience.

Covid measures are non existence, housekeeping and porters nice people. Receptionist are mixed. Manager rubbish. Some of the staff are against LGBTQ memebers. Recommendation; not good place for young, family or business places.

We liked our Stay in Clink78 for the good room, breakfast and very well renovated building. The bus 63 stops just in front of the hostel so you can travel quickly and easily anywhere in London. The atmosphere was nice even if there are a lot of young people. It was a very friendly experience.

Breakfast was very good and included on the rate when booked online directly with them. The dorm was a little smelly (vent system could be improved) and the other guests had their own things lying around, but that's not the hostel's fault. We were not aware we had to take/buy our own lock for the lockers, but it was our first time at a hostel, so probably that's our own fault. Overall it was good. I would stay here for short term stays of one or two days. Not longer than that.
