I
last
stayed
in
this
hotel
about
10
years
ago,
and
since
then
they
have
done
some
significant
(and
welcome)
renovations.
The
room
was
small
but
nicely-appointed
and
the
bathroom
was
large
with
enough
counter
space
for
my
toiletries.
The
public
areas
are
excellent.
Those
fortunate
enough
to
have
access
to
the
Club
Room
(as
I
was)
will
find
a
full
business
center,
comfortable
seating,
and
a
very
nice
library
for
quiet
moments
to
read
or
connect
with
friends.
The
Palm
Court
serves
Afternoon
Tea
(I
didn’t
indulge,
but
it
looked
good)
and
offers
an
excellent
space
for
cocktails
before
dinner.
The
bar
is
well-stocked
and
the
staff
is
very
helpful
and
friendly.
A
special
shout-out
to
my
bartender
Rommel,
who
made
a
fine
drink,
remembered
me
and
my
preferences,
and
seemed
to
read
my
mind
when
I
needed
another.
The
in-house
restaurant
Mercante
offers
breakfast
(which
is
included
in
some
rates
or
if
you
have
status),
which
is
a
nice
buffet
with
an
omelet
station.
The
other
restaurant,
Smith
&
Whistle,
is
a
pub
with
an
even
better-stocked
bar,
outdoor
seating,
and
very
good
food.
(I
had
the
fish
and
chips
and
a
burger
in
two
visits,
both
of
which
were
enjoyable.)
The
Sheraton
has
a
good
location,
close
to
a
couple
of
tube
stops
and
useful
bus
stops.
Green
Park
is
right
across
the
street
if
you
want
some
relaxing
greenery.
Behind
the
hotel
is
the
funky
Shepherds
Market
area,
with
pubs,
restaurants,
and
other
shops.
Overall,
I
was
very
pleased
with
my
stay
and
will
likely
book
again
the
next
time
I
am
in
London.
