Terrible hotel. Like a robber. I booked a hotel for two nights but couldn't check in the first night because I missed my flight. When I arrived the next day to check in, I was told that my room was cancelled. But I didn't receive any notification. I paid the entire room fee and they took my room and gave it to someone else. When I asked them why, they told me that because I didn't check in the first night, I was canceling the second night by default and said that was just their culture. And they don't have any solutions. As a foreigner, I don't understand your culture of privately arranging a room to someone else when someone else has paid all the fees. In our culture, if there is no check-in on the first night, the hotel staff will definitely contact the customer first to confirm whether the guest will check-in on the second night, instead of canceling the room without any notice. I almost had to sleep on the street the next night, which is very dangerous for a single girl

Stayed for 4 nights in an 8 person dorm (3rd floor) Room was clean, lockable lockers under bed (bring own lock) although the locker for my bed was half the size due to being in a corner and couldn't fit either of my bags. Curtains for beds but bottom bunk curtain doesn't cover whole bed. Bright green light from ?fire alarm shining all night and off-on noise from showers next door all night if this will annoy you. Unfortunately 2 main things let this hostel down 1. Bathroom cleanliness was poor (showers did not drain water so a 2 minute shower had water up to your ankles). Brought this up with staff on first morning who said they would look at it but no improvements/updates. Likely all the hair needs to be cleaned out of the drain/off the shower floor. Disgusting. Neither showers were cleaned while I was there. Toilets toilet paper was never replaced in holder cleaning staff just placed more behind toilet?? 2. No common areas and unfriendly bar downstairs for young/solo female travellers. Almost always full of Londoners in large groups, terrible for meeting any other travellers, often entirely full of loud drunk men. Also breakfast is only included if you book directly through website. Would not recommend for solo overseas visitors- not good for making friends/finding people and primarily caters to working inner city Londoners. Also showers disgusting.

A decent hostel with some great benefits for people who are looking for a more social kind of stay, with a free drink at the pub on the ground floor. Make sure to bring a lock to lock your things away as there is no lock provided.

I had an inconvenience when booking, some error did not update the price when I selected the date. I thought maybe this is already the price for the two nights then, once the dates were right, but after I paid, the booking was only one night, then I contacted their costumer care and they told me I could book the second night and they would merge it to the same room. When I arrive they could only see that I have one night, then I showed that I have 2, but was in another room, they did not merge how was informed to me that was done , next day I have to check out the room by 11:00 and wait until 15:00 to have another room. Then the USB charger did not work at the bed, luckily I have my power bank, in the first night the air conditioner was not working and was really really hot. I like been in hostel when travelling alone because I like the vibe, but this one doesn’t have any vibe. The beds was enough comfortable and was everything clean, also the toilets. I didn’t like the staff in the reception.

Water heater comes on every 20 or so minutes, humming like hell causing the walls to vibrate, you can still hear it even with ear plugs, it tends to wake you up. Good work fellas!!

Super friendly crew in an incredible location. I had a private room, which included an en-suite bathroom. The shower was small, but had great water pressure. Considering the prices of hotels in London, this is an incredible opportunity. The bar downstairs is also great, and has really good deals for guests of the hostel. I wish my stay were longer than one night - there seems to be so much going on at the hostel!

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, was especially pleased to see how clean the bathroom and toilet were. Clean bed linen, duvet cover, dorm room. Loved the security of having a female-only dorm, curtains on each bunk bed for privacy was brilliant. Excellent security, felt very safe. Also loved the built-in charger for mobiles, for each individual bed as well as USB port. Excellent WiFi. All in all, a satisfying experience. 😊

+ Curtains were great for privacy. Made an 8 person room feel just fine. + Toilets and shower being out of the room and in the hallway worked great. They were pretty clean and never had a wait. + Real pub downstairs if that's your thing. Not just a hostel bar where travelers congregate. Tons of Londoners flock here for their post-work pint. + Location is great with access to Moorgate and Liverpool St. tube stops. - Sliding metal lockers under the bed are awful... St. Christopher's really needs to get on board with actual standing lockers. These are noisy, get in the way, and barely protect your things. - Staff does have to multitask between reception and tending bar, so depending when you check in it can be a bit hectic - No real common space apart from the pub downstairs

the staff was not friendly nor helpful. The facility is old with a touch up of paint to cover up. No effort of cleanliness being maintain at this hostel. Mold growing out of the bathroom faucet and corner. BODY Hair everywhere in the bathroom including sticking on the wall. Bathroom is out of the room in the hallway. No windows to gaps for air in the bathroom for hot air to get out. Smell awful. When I first step in the hallway, I can see little mouses running out the windows in the hallway. In case If you like a little real time Micky-mouse party. The room smells like old sweat on pillow and sheet. The room does not match the picture on listing, which I pointed out to the staff and they simply said its a generated picture and it was not meant to look like the room. The location of this hostel/ hotel is out of no where, when you walked down the street, there is no convenience store or restaurant around. Plenty of homeless people hanging around in the area during night time. Nearest metro station is 7 blocks away and its not one of the main metro line which means you are required to transfer/switch multiple lanes to get to the city/ your destination. I would not recommend this place to any friends or family. It is not worth the value even though it's cheap compared to other hotel in the area.

Wasn't a terrible hostel just some of the elements weren't for me. I really liked the curtains but I wish the bottom bunk's extended out more. Staff was nice. The house cleaner though was a little loud. He came in the room and talked on the phone while he changed the bedding. Some people were still resting and like me, I could tell they were a little annoyed by the rudeness. Also, there are a lot of people downstairs during the night. For me it was a little overwhelming.

Excellent hostel, I will definitely come back. Clean, cozy and beautiful! Their pub is the perfect starting point. Unlike larger party hostels, here you can actually get to know Londoner nightlife while also getting to enjoy a peaceful night of quiet sleep. The perfect balance. Cheers, to Chris in reception, who helped me a lot during my stay!!

At this place, you get what you pay for. The only thing in the room that felt moderately clean was the sheets. The floor was covered in dust and the room stank because the other guests had an aversion to showering (if that gives you a sense of the type of people who stay here). The hall bath (which only had 1 toilet and two tiny sinks) had black mold in the shower and the toilet was dirty even though it had just been cleaned. There's also absoloutely no communal environment here. It's just a few rooms above a pub and no one seemed interested in meeting anyone else. It's also not a great location, surrrounded by lots of offices and totally dead on the weekends. It's close to the tube, but still a good 5-7 minute walk when you want to go anywhere. The only good things I can say are that it was quiet at night, and the staff in the pub were super kind and attentive and let me store my bags for free. It's a realtively cheap place to London, but if you're looking to explore the city and sleep well, I'd stay somwehre else.

This hostel offered great prices compared to other locations, was modern, clean and quiet. Reception staff was friendly and there are ample bathroom facilities for everyone. If you're looking to socialize with other travellers though, consider booking elsewhere. The common room is not advertised and empty most of the time while the bar downstairs is filled with locals having a pint with their colleagues at lunch or after work. In 3 nights, I briefly spoke with two other guests despite the hostel being seemingly full. If you're looking for a quiet place to spend the night after exploring London, this is it!

It is impossible to sleep. People come into your room every other hour with headphones loudly arguing, cleaning, checking bunks, moving things, being impossibly loud. You get 1 pillow and cant even pay for more. The worst is there is no common room. No place to sit and talk about where you want to go with your traveling partners. There is the bed and the shower. The breakfast is bad and you are rude for trying to eat the breakfast.

Lovely experience. So central and staff are super kind and friendly. Amazing amenities. I would definitely stay here again. It’s built on top of the flying horse pub with the reception in the pub. Discounts on food and drink and central connections to everywhere. How does it get any better than that?!

Attended a retirement party in City of London. Location of Flying Horse was great for staggering back. Room was good size, clean and well looked after with comfortable bed. Only down side was the 3 flights of stairs after a good night out !! Paid for breakfast , european buffet , well presented and plentiful, staff very helpful and refilled items in good time.Good value for short term stay if you are happy for a hostel environment.

First time staying at a hostel and was a little apprehensive as to what to expect. Staff were helpful and welcoming and the room a facilities were clean. The clientele were business types (not what I was expecting). Only drawbacks were the storage, though a large cage, they sure are noisy ( would hate to wake a guest up) and the bar gets pretty full so if you want food from the menu, I suggest you order early.

I had an overall wonderful stay and would stay here again. I felt safe as a solo traveler. The dorms have private curtains, which was a really nice touch, and there was plenty of space. The bathrooms are also spacious with two showers and a private toilet, all locking. The bathroom could have used a shelf or two for clothes, etc. The location is fantastic - close to the tube, attractions and lots of restaurant options. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, with the exception of one less than hospitable gentleman working the early morning shift. I was relieved to find that his attitude/personality was an anomaly at the establishment.

Fantastic hostel, little small but gets the job done. Super clean. Bar downstairs is pretty good too. Super nice service. Location was decent. They let us store our bags behind the front desk which was super helpful. Definitely recommend!

Good value for price. The rooms are clean and tidy, albeit a little noisy due to proximity to the street. Curtains on the beds helped a lot with privacy and reducing light. The men's bathrooms were quite small and run down however. There was also some mold on one of the shower curtains. I was also quite disappointed that there was not adequate space for the hostel to mind my luggage after I checked out. This is the first time I have experienced a hostel that didn't offer this service to everyone. To give context they do mind luggage but the luggage room is small and once filled you are forced to take your luggage elsewhere. It was filled by the time I checked out at 10am due to new arrivals waiting for check in.

Perfect for solo travellers on the move: great location, a peaceful, silent atmosphere despite the busy area, remarkable safety &cleanliness in every premise. Not the least responsive receptionists. The only down side a bit of stale air in the room as windows seemed blocked.

The beds are really comfy and the curtains are great but the metal boxes under the bed are a bad idea. They are so loud. And if you sleep in the bottom bed you feel every movement from the upper sleeper. The bathroom has a window but it could not be open for letting all the steam out. Showers were really small Cleaning was ok. Sanitary bind were always full. The hostel has no common room and no kitchen. But you get a discount for the food in the pub. If the pub is closed its strange because you dont have a room to sit around except for your bed. I know that the staff from the pub isnt really involved in the actual cleaning of the rooms but they help if you have any complain The best part of my stay was the staff. They are really nice and helpful! you can get your water bottle refilled at the bar! Thank you!

I slept in an eight bed dorm. It was clean, had a sink, beds had curtains, mattress size was good and the room hat two windows and a air conditioner. Every bed had an locker underneath and multiple power outlets. The bathroom was outside the dorm. Showers and toilets where separated and cleaned everyday. Mirrors and hairdryers where in the hallway at the bathrooms. Breakfast fast ok, but very simple. People at reception where very kind.

A very good place to stay. Clean bathrooms, spacious beds. And most importantly super friendly staff. I do recommend it!😁

The hostel is inside Flying Horse, no outdoor sign of St Christopher, steep staircase, narrow lavatory, awkward shower, not enough hang for each bed. Room of 8 bed with for clothes hang up. Locker is open metal wire clothes touch the floor. Night Shift receptionist very rough. Phone number in booking does not match the reception. If you arrive late at night it will be nightmare. Not recommend for over 1 night. Positive is location and 25% discount on pub for drinks and food

Great hostel for a short stay over in London! Perfect location, in close proximity to bus stops, tube station and various attractions. Staff were super helpful with providing directions and local advice.

Check in was kind of sketchy in the pub downstairs and the lock to the 6-bed female dorm I was staying in was broken so we had to have the door propped open overnight, so felt kind of unsafe. Location did not feel the most safe at night. Shared bathroom did not feel clean. The bed with the privacy curtain was nice.

  • 3/5 Abdullah T. 9 months ago on Google
Clean rooms and toilets but it could do with some air freshener at least in corridors with the toilets and in shared rooms. I stayed in a shared room so dirty clothes were placed all over the room ( chairs , windows, bed frames) understandable behaviour from the travellers as it was very warm and sweaty in London. Could include a clothing line so people can dry their clothes ( allocating maximum per bed ). Heard from another traveller that they don't have laundry facilities, which wasn't ideal for him. You could probably replace the staff with robots and notice no personality change🤣. They did their job at reception (perhaps hospitality is not in the job description) . I could leave a small backpack with them until I checked in which was ideal and they correspond well via email before travel too. Most friendliest person was the man that would clean the pub in the early mornings, unfortunately I didn't catch the name! Secure as it has keypad access and shared rooms has decent sized locker to keep your stuffs. You can bring your own lock or rent one. Bed facilities included power socket with bed, curtains for privacy and okay linen. Was quiet overnight I stayed( on a weekday) and great location in the center of London.

Clean, comfortable, good price. I had a great time during my stay, the bathroom was clean and also the showers. Excellent customer service and also friendly staff. Is close to bus stops and restaurants. Has a great pub in the ground floor :)

Close to Liverpool Street, so you have excelllent transport links. I was there for a few nights and I had a good experience. Bed was comfortable and you have curtains for your privacy. Bathrooms a bit small but clean. At the ground floor, there is a pub where you can eat, drink and watch sports. If I had to find some 'problems', the street is a bit noisy and the breakfast could be improved a little. But I would recommend it for your short stay in London.

Descent hostel, good location, comfortable clean bed. Toilets/showers feel a bit cramped (like squeezing between the door and sink cramped) but nothing too serious. Good place to stay if you're looking for a place right in the center of town.

I love this hostel. Right in the heart of the City. Quite affordable and the staff are pleasant. You can pop down for a drink and the Bar on the ground floor.

A very good value accommodation! Considering I paid £38 for somewhere nestled between Liverpool Street & Moorgate, it was great! Shared room ofc but I personally don't mind that. The bunks beds were big, stable and fairly comfy with a reading light, charging points and storage. The bathrooms were clean and the staff suprisngly friendly and the bar also great. Just wish there were lockable storage for my stuff...unless there was and I am blind lol

Great value for price, conveniently located and unbeatable food/drinks deals at the pubs. Good breakfast with all the basics (toasts, ham, cheese slices, spreads, granola, yogurt, milk, instant coffee and tea). We’ll be back ;)

The St Christopher's Inn Hostel at the Liverpool Street is such an amazing place. I stayed there for one week with my best mate and we had an unforgettable time. All the staff is super friendly and helpful in any way. The Pub downstairs is awesome! Good beer and some nice food as well! The rooms were great. I stayed there in 8 bed mix room and we had lovely people around us. I will definitely stay there for my next trip in London! Thanks for everything!

Had a really nice overnight stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful, bathrooms and showers were clean and everything was working properly. Comfortable bed and I appreciate the privacy curtains on the bed. The room was a bit too warm for my liking and my dorm had a few snorers but otherwise it was very pleasant.

  • 3/5 Tracy E. 2 years ago on Google
Location was superb, staff really helpful. What let it down was the room. We had a double private room, there was alot of mould in the shower cubicle on the ceiling. The second check out morning there was absolutely no hot water so had to boil the kettle to wash. Disappointed.

  • 5/5 Grzegorz A. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic place! Perfect location, comfortable, clean. It’s highlight is definitely its staff - Martyna, Marta and Tadeusz: very helpful and very friendly. Thanks to the them my stay was great. I would have given 6 stars if I could. Book directly to get breakfast included!

Outstanding customer service from the staff member Adam. He was very helpful and welcoming with a warm hospitality. He gave some great menu recommendations. Lovely bar layout and good selection of food and drink. Made me feel right at home. My stay was a very pleasant one. Clean bedding. Warm room. Shower facilities great. Very reasonably priced.

I just finished staying in the private room for 5 days. I do not recommend here tbh. 1. There is no lift which was very difficult for me because i had 23kg luggage with me. The stairs are so tiny and very steep. 2. They did not clean the room everyday. Even when they did, they cleaned it barely. 3. The room was tiny to open up my luggage and go around the bed.

  • 5/5 Padmal 1 year ago on Google
The location is superb for its price. Reception is very friendly and will sort out any problems you have even at midnights. Rooms are good. Some people might snore and the ask the hostel for ear plugs to have a good night's sleep.

So far the best hostel I have ever stayed with. The facilities was clean, friendly and helpful stuff and the perfect location. Definitely recommend.

  • 5/5 JW F. 1 year ago on Google
Quite a good experience all around. I was woken up at 7:30 am by a fire alarm, there is no lift (and I had a heavy suitcase), but I can’t take any points off because the fire alarm was quickly shut off and someone actually helped me carry the suitcase all the way up. The beds have those little curtains so you can actually have some privacy even if you’re in a dorm with 7 other people. The location is very central, overall would do again if I needed a hostel in London!

Amazing bar with an amazing service. We went there just for a drink and we ended up spending a whole evening drinking and eating for the cossy place. Shoutout to Ellie. She was the nicest person that we met in England.
