Don't be fooled by the crumbling, dilapidated outsides of the London Elizabeth! Somehow the inside manages to be worse! Do not, and I mean DO NOT stay here under any circumstances, this was the nastiest, most outdated, most rundown hotel I've ever had the displeasure of staying at. After one night I just couldn't take it and spent £109 to get to a friend's place out of the city. The rooms were cramped, dusty, and on a slant for some reason. The pillowcases were stained and the window refused to open. Plus temperatures were unusually high in London and there was no AC! The elevator can only fit one person at a time and if you have a large suitcase and are larger than a child, you will struggle. No cooked breakfast despite being a restaurant (not that I'd feel safe eating there anyway). Within my first ten minutes in the room a spider crawled over my hand and three huge flies and a moth decided they would book a stay too! The service was abysmal, front desk was rude and dismissive and housekeeping does not read or just doesn't care about do not disturb. All and all an absolutely harrowing experience. I'd rather sleep on the bus.

Homely traditional hotel in a great location in extremely close proximity to Hyde Park and Marble Arch. Great service however the main two reasons for rating 3 instead of 4 are: 1. Lack of air conditioning in rooms, which is an absolute must in summer weather where temperatures rarely drop below 20°C at night. 2. Limited breakfast options. The breakfast wasn't "bad" but mainly cold options consisting of toast, cereal and croissants. A wider variety, especially such as porridge, yoghurts, full english and even fruit juices instead of the limited coffee/tea or water would've been brilliant.

So me and my wife stayed here for August Bank Holiday weekend! We really enjoyed our stay. Yes the rooms and the decor could be updated but I think that it would loose its feel. Beds are comfy, nice big walking wardrobe and the shower was lovely! I would recommend this place to people who like a little bit of character where they stay.

Is it the best hotel in London? No, obviously not. But the room was clean, warm and spacious, the breakfast while not amazing was perfectly adequate, and it was under £200 in walking distance of Oxford Street. Yes its a bit shabby and could do with a face-lift. But you get what you pay for. Perfectly fine for a short break or a night in London for work.

I'm struggling to relate to such bad reviews. Yes the hotel is in desperate need of investment and refurbishment but our room was clean, warm, everything worked and we had what we needed. Only criticism is the pillows were very lumpy. Breakfast was adequate although I would have liked orange juice. I appreciate everyone's standards vary but from our experience for the price it was perfectly fine.

We had a wonderful stay here. We had doubs in booking with this hotel seeing the reviews but considering the location, room size, balcony and price we decided to go with this one anyway. And we're very happy we did so. We had the Hyde park suite which was a huge appartement, warm and clean, very comfy bed, two balconies, one with a wonderful view of the park. It also has an adaptor for European plugs. The staff was absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful, available 24/7. Gary went above and and beyond to make our stay so much enjoyable. Overall we definitely recommend it and we'll be happy to stay here again on our next visit.

Hotel cancelled booking due to flooded basement 3 days prior to arrival and we are still waiting on the refund 3 weeks later. One star is too generous, if I could give 0 stars I would.

Ok, let’s be fair, the room was massive - (the suite), it was a last minute booking, and on first glance it was ok, clean (-ish). But it quickly became obvious the whole Place is falling apart. The lavish furnishings are dirty and worn; the hole in the ceiling was copiously dripping water onto a progressively rotting patch of carpet; there were blistering walls around power points and none of the four lamps in the bedroom worked. The room was basically quiet - once the builders next door had finished for the day, and the bed was comfortable but we couldn’t sleep because everything else made it feel unpleasant.. But it’s right opposite Hyde Park. Otherwise I would seriously give it a wide birth.

I have still not received a £761 refund from a booking in March 2023 that they promised me after a last minute cancellation due to flooding. After they initially told me they were waiting to hear back on the refund from Barcelona, they have since ghosted and not responded to any of my follow up emails. To say I’m upset with this level of…service? decency? is an understatement. If someone can withdraw money from me online, they can also re-wire it for a service that was not delivered and a refund that was promised. What are the consumer protection laws against this? I was truly looking forward to what seemed like a charming old English experience, and I’m just beside myself. I empathize with any difficulties on their side business wise/with their building, but it’s simply unacceptable to push this onto the consumer. London Elizabeth Hotel, please read my review and respect and follow through on the refund you promised me. I would be more than happy to update my review.

Perfect location for Royal Lancaster Hotel opposite. Rooms are tired and could do with sprucing up. Curtains dirty and tie backs falling apart. Attention to cleanliness needed. Breakfast room very basic. Reception staff very friendly. Will book again as so convenient though.

I stayed in 2013 and thought the hotel was perfectly old London. I wanted a good night's sleep and a proper bathroom. This hotel did not disappoint. I wasn't looking for 5 star spa type accommodations. I was looking for something quintessential London and affordable, and this hotel delivered. The breakfast was great. Yes the elevator was small, but we have an amazingly fun memory of getting our luggage upstairs and back down again. The bar was great. And the employees were very helpful.

I booked a stay with them in January 2023, prepaid, and when we arrived after a very long travel day in October we found out they were no longer open to the public. They did not inform us ahead of time and we had to move to their partner hotel which was in very poor condition. There was no offer to refund us or pay for our cab to the other hotel. I specifically booked this hotel for the location and the other hotel was 10 minutes by car away. Their website still shows they are open and allows booking and the entire operation felt like a scam. They even had a list of occupants and a daily menu listed in the hotel even though they said they weren't operational. Do not book here!

No towels or toilet paper and toilet broken. Blood on sheets and everything very dirty. I stayed 4 days without room being cleaned and people at front desk couldn't understand what i was asking for.

The hotel is quite bad, not only because it is old but also because it is not taken care of. In our room there were drawers that did not open, the shower door was bad and did not close. They had put a curtain as a "solution". In addition to the fact that the water came out hot no matter how you turned the handle. The Wi-Fi was very slow and not at all comfortable. We had written an email with questions and received no response either. The good thing about the hotel was the breakfast that was decent, buffet type, the heating and the beds that were good.

Stayed in July 22nd until 25th and had a very pleasant stay. The Hotel is a very typical Victorian one which I personally love, very homely with all the furniture, furnishings and fireplaces reminding us of days gone by (I love a bit of history) When we arrived our room was on the 4th floor which was a really lovely room but unfortunately I can't use the lift so I was offered a room on the ground floor which was a great help. The room was big and spacious just like the other one with air-conditioning, with all the usual amenities for the guests. The room was very clean and the beds were sooooo good, they were very comfortable and the feather pillows were just divine 😁 The continental breakfast was fine the only thing I missed was the orange juice. I would just like to give Tom and Russell a special mention as they were very nice and couldn't have done enough for us they were very helpful and very pleasant. Also the Lancaster Gate and Paddington Stations are just a stone's throw away plus Kensington Gardens is just across the road. I certainly would return to The London Elizabeth and hope to in the near future. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Really good location to get around London. Decor a little dated but room very clean and facilities were good to use after a day touring around the city. Will definately stay again

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is excellent - close to stations and Hyde Park. The breakfast included in the price is pretty good. The room was very basic though and I even had to repair the curtains so that they covered the window.

Everything is quite old and worn-out, the room we got was quite depressing. The window was broken, so we needed help of a member of staff to close it. It's next to Hyde Park but the view is not to the park, so don't expect picturesque panorama. The fridge was smelly, obviously it wasn't cleaned properly. On the other hand, the staff was really kind and flexible and they tried to sort out anything we asked for. Overall the accommodation did not ruin our holiday, but didn't really raise its level either.

Stayed here the night before The Queen's state funeral. Very, very run down. Looks nothing like the pictures online. We were on the fourth floor. I chose not to use the lift as I was unsure it would be able to scale the heights. The stairs get narrower and narrower as you progress upwards. They also develop a slant, like the whole building is leaning. In the very basic room, with the lock that requires a 'knack' to get the key to work, the slope was even more pronounced. Things would actually roll off tables. Broken tiles in the shower and a cracked sink help to add further character to the room. My sleep wasn't very good. That was down to a number of factors. The room was very warm. The need to open the windows let in all the noises of the city. I did also have to be up at 4am, which rarely makes for a restful sleep. If you just want a place to sleep with a great location it kind of does the job. Just don't expect much more and don't believe the photos.
