We've lodged here twice already, unquestionably one of London's premier hotels in terms of value for money. The more renowned 5-star establishments don't offer much more but come with significantly higher price tags. The architecture, ambiance (including little things like the fragrance in the lobby or the real fireplace) friendliness of stuff and amenities (like a complimentary minibar) are truly first-rate. Undoubtedly, it boasts the ideal location for welcoming the New Year in the comfort of your hotel room. The rooms facing the London Eye not only provide a splendid view of the fireworks but also allow you to immerse yourself in the entire commentary and musical ambiance throughout the night. The sole drawback is that the windows aren't permitted to fully open due to regulations. We encountered an issue with room service once (waited for over an hour), but they extended their apologies, and ultimately, the meal was on the house. Also, finding a parking spot nearby doesn’t seem to be an easy task. Additionally, the lift control system lacks a certain intelligence, and if you rely on a wheelchair, their makeshift ramp becomes necessary. However, these are merely minor inconveniences.

This hotel failed to impress on many levels. We stayed here for two nights in July as part of a Sound Travel Abba package and thought we were paying £300+ per night for 5* facilities. 1. We were kept waiting past our check-in time in reception as our room had not been cleaned. 2. The room had a 'window' facing a dark inner courtyard with obscuring film and could not be opened. As the basic definition of a window is "opening in the wall or roof of a building or vehicle, fitted with glass in a frame to admit light or air and allow people to see out" this does not count as a window and the website photos of a guest room with normal windows are misleading. 3. The complimentary mini-bar turned out to be 2 bottles of water, 2 cans of fizzy pop and 1 very small bottle of wine, enough for half a glass between two persons. 4. The complimentary toiletries very tiny bottles - enough for 1 person, not two. 5. The tea and coffee making facilities were 4 pods of coffee and a machine, but no milk, sugar or tea bags. On the positive side, the hotel had good door staff, the breakfast suited our needs, and the location is excellent. None of this would be enough to persuade us to stay here again, especially the window issue, which is a deal-breaker.

This hotel was AMAZING!!! I had never been to London but was told to stay in Westminster and I’m so happy to have stayed in this hotel. The hotel is near (less than .5 mil in any direction) most things tourists want to see . It’s situatuted in a beautiful area of London as well. First off, it’s beautiful inside and out. DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST, because it’s the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel. A full array of meats, cheeses, breads and side dishes. Most days I skipped lunch because I ate too much at breakfast! The room was amazing and clean. The bed was larger than expected (most European hotel beds are smaller) and it was very comfortable. The staff is fantastic. I wanted to visit a popular restaurant and asked the staff to make me a reservation. They immediately called and said the restaurant was full, but the restaurant had a sister location in Chelsea that they already called and had availability. They called a cab for me and it ended up being one of my best meals on our trip across Europe. All of this to say, I will be staying there again and I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel might be perfect. The location is walking distance from fabulous restaurants, theatre, 3 Tube stations, culture, and history. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful and you can see it from anywhere in the neighborhood. The staff were absolutely accommodating and went above and beyond several times during our stay to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The room itself was spacious and well laid-out and the hotel restaurants and in-room dining had lots of options, especially the breakfast buffet - full English breakfast fixings, pastries, cereal, juices/coffee/tea, breads, etc. They had everything. We will absolutely be back! It was also shockingly quiet for being so close to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. I had an issue with the room during the first night and this was swiftly resolved. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff were really friendly and courteous. We will definitely stay here again!

This is an absolutely stunning hotel set in a prime location of London. With tons of eateries, shops, and major tourist spots within walking distance as well as embankment station being a 2 minute walk away, it surprisingly offers a quiet and calm atmosphere to return to each night. Their high tea was wonderful despite my skepticism about dining in the hotel. However, for being a 5 star hotel, I do have some complaints following our recent stay. We paid around $1300 for 3 nights and booked a Deluxe King Room. While the room itself was up to standards, our “king bed” was 2 small beds pushed together which obviously leaves an uncomfortable gap in the middle. The front desk offered little to no resolution as they were fully booked and sent maintenance to do their best to make the gap less uncomfortable. This just seems like an unacceptable way to host guests and is in ways a false advertisement for what we paid for. The complimentary water and 2 sodas are nice, but 4 additional waters and a couple more sodas sent to us was €56. It was also hard to reach the front desk at times. Overall, this hotel is an absolutely stunning old English style accommodation. I just wish the value for money matched.

If you're planning to visit London, I would highly recommend staying at the Royal Horseguard Hotel. Great price but more importantly the location. It's a walking distance to everything, our favorite thing to do every morning was a jog across Golden Jubilee Bridge, London Eye then Big Ben. After that, we stopped by the park to have some breakfast. Room was clean with everything you need, staff was excellent. We enjoyed the restaurants & bars here, we love everything about this historic hotel. I can't wait to come back!

We chose to stay at the Royal Horseguards because of its proximity to the NYE fireworks and the party we booked at the hotel. It’s a great location which allows it to command a high price in exchange for a poor product. One can easily see this was a once great property that is now poorly maintained and managed. While our king room was spacious, its once luxurious features and finishes and carpets are sad and worn. The shower in the bathroom was riddled with moldy caulk a plenty in the shower pan. Saddest and perhaps most frustrating was opening the shower door after my shower to find the bathroom floor almost completely flooded. I was left a stack of towels to mop up the mess. Brilliant! Management could only offer me a lesser room or a next day maintenance visit. Pathetic.

An excellent hotel, centrally located and very well appointed. I stayed in a ‘single’ room but it has a double bed in it. The rooms had everything you’d expect, plus a little more. Couldn’t hear my neighbours and slept very well. Walking distance from everything the West End can throw at you!

This should not be a five star hotel for $500 a night. First, upon arrival it was impossible to get a hold of the front desk even using the bedroom phone. I had zero cell signal. I got locked in a stair case and could not call, but had family calling and they did not answer. My hotel door did not have a deadbolt lock, which made me feel very unsafe considering what I had already experienced. The room came with complimentary beer and wine but no openers. Had to call 5 times to get an opener and they brought me a wine opener hours later, even though I explained I cannot have wine. The staff would come into my room and linger even though I stood with the door open and did not want to have them in there with it shut. I ordered room service and the wrong beers were brought at least 3 times. The restaurant was very less than average. I booked a tour bus with the hotel and the tour was so horrible I got off after one stop and did a self guided tour. Would not recommend. Only positive was the location which was walking distance to most attractions.

We had an excellent time at the Royal Horseguards Hotel. The rooms are well appointed but on the small side, it is an older style building with a historical past that new builds can't offer. For breakfast there was an excellent array of food with little wanting. Staff were very attentive and sometimes too eager to take your plate. It's walking distance to many great tourist attractions, Big Ben Parliament House London Eye Westminster Abbey Nelson's column And even New Scotland Yard Etc etc. A short two minute walk to the Hop on Hop off bus. Loads of cafe's, restaurants the tube and various shops. When we're back in London we will certainly stay here again.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was was extraordinary. In walking distance of everything one would want to visit in the heart of London, but located on a very quiet street. Connected to the National Liberal Club full of history and the felt presence of Winston Churchill. Very nice rooms, bar, restaurant. Highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel and room but lacking the little niceties and comforts for such an impressive hotel. Literature states that guests will be issued with elemis products but only enough for one person to use as so small and really didn't smell of much. Went to the bar where a barman devoid of any personality told us it was table service. Waited 15minutes then left as not served. The room size and furniture however was brilliant. Really comfy big bed. Can't say that any member of staff made any effort to make us feel welcome just a bit of a cold environment so mixed review.

Amazing location. Check heating controls as it was cold before I worked them out.. sadly it was the old style vent which blows at the bed. Breakfast is nice but could be improved a bit as coffee machine was terrible.. just ask for a coffee directly and you get a nicer coffee. Also ask for poached eggs as they were excellent.

This hotel in London epitomizes timeless elegance. The service team lead by Steve and Raja exhibits unparalleled professionalism, catering to guests' needs with grace and attentiveness. Under astute management, the hotel maintains its historic charm while seamlessly integrating modern amenities. Steeped in history, this establishment was once used by the Secret Intelligence Service during World War I, adding a captivating allure to its ambiance. Whether for its historical significance, exceptional service, or luxurious accommodations, this hotel is a quintessential choice for a remarkable stay in London. Recommend 10/10!

One of the best hotel experiences I've had in all of my travels. The porter, reception, Concierge, and event manager are exceptionally attentive. The staff is completely invisible, yet always in sight. They remembers what people hate. They anticipate the client's needs before the needs are needed. Yet, they are, above all, discreet to a fault. The hotel itself is beautiful in it's historic architecture. Our room was sizable with a heated bathroom floor and heated towel racks. Very nice amenities throughout the room. The restaurant staff was fabulous and the food quality divine. I highly recommend the Royal Horseguards Hotel to anyone planning on visiting London. The location cannot be beat with easy access to anywhere you would like to go throughout the city. Thank you Steve, Million and the rest of the staff for making this such a memorable experience.

Rooms are spacious and interior is beautiful. Also nice rooftop terrace where you can have drinks or food. Staff is very polite and did everything to accommodate us. Cannot understand the bad reviews here. If you want a five star hotel, you need to pay for one. This hotel is value for money.

We stayed at the Royal Horseguards Hotel last weekend for the Remembrance Sunday ceremony, it's a lovely hotel with clean, well appointed rooms, and the staff were ALL absolutely lovely - faultless. The breakfast on the other hand... cold plates, and lukewarm (at best) food. Staying at any hotel at this price point for us is a real treat, so we really expected better. We'll take many happy memories from our stay, but are unlikely to return anytime soon

Excellent hotel situated in a great location. Conveniently placed within a short walk from Embankment and Charing Cross stations. This hotel reallydelivers on value for money. Everything about it gives you a sense of comfort and luxury. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. I've stayed in many of the best central London hotels and I must say this has been one of my most enjoyable ones

Fabulous location, beautiful entrance, fabulous Christmas decorations, great reception staff. No view unfortunately from our room. Comfortable mattress. Duvet was too small, it was a double on a kingsize bed. Duvet cover was king size...so a lot of empty material. Pillows were awful. Mould on shower tiles. Orange slim on shower door track.

We had a nice stay and a good value but this is not a five star hotel regardless of what the plaque may say—it is a very nice tourist hotel in a great location. The photos make it seem like it is a luxury hotel but it is just not in that class. Photos of exterior are of the large building that was divided up, and the hotel makes up maybe 1/4 of it. Rooms were nice but a little shopworn, but beds and bedding were updated and comfortable. Staff was very friendly but nearly impossible to get on the phone. Breakfast nice but with cheesy elevator music. Clientele was mostly tourists and a few salesman at sales gatherings.

The staff were exceptional and the restaurant and bar were really nice. Food was lovely, plenty of choice and good value for money. However, overall we could not rate this hotel as 5 star. The rooms could do with an update and more attention to detail elsewhere in the hotel (eg could polish inside the lift) would enhance the rating. Also, the scent in the lobby and beyond was overpowering and not great for allergies.

I am writing this review as an American traveling abroad, so maybe my view is askew with how it is done in London. Our standard room was small, to the point we were tripping over luggage in the night. We had one of the odd shaped rooms, so it felt really tight. The room also did not have a shower in it, which I was surprised to find out was not standard. Do people just take baths? There were a couple flying bugs in the room and closet as well. I do also want to comment on the inconsistency. We ended up moving rooms after the first night, which ended up with us being in a rectangular room with a shower. The shower was odd though, because it did not drain, and the toilet bubbled when you showered, so there was something blocking air for the shower to drain. The inconsistency is for the bed. The first bed was soft, with firm pillows, which was great. The second bed was hard with soft pillows lacking any body to them. Entirely different set up. The front desk and service team were good. I will give them that. They were able to relocate us, show me a room before we moved, and helped us with our bags. They called a cab for us when we needed one, and the conversations we had made them genuinely feel like they were interested in us. I wish I remembered the name of the man who helped us move rooms. We conversed during the move, and he moved to London when he was 10 I believe from Portugal. "Million" was also on top of everything too, offering us some history of the building, and also offering to give us a tour of parts of the hotel. The breakfast was a great addition to fuel our morning. Consistently good food, wait staff all over the place, and a calm atmosphere. The location was a saving grace to this hotel. Quick walk to the underground, and many points of interest within a 15 minute walk. Never felt like we were in danger walking the streets either. Overall, I wanted to love this 5 star hotel, but in the end it fell short. Compared to the 4.5 and 4 star hotels we also stayed at, I would line this up closer to a 4 star hotel. Side note, I would have loved to see if the old iPod connection and VGA connections worked, but it is a bit outdated. Also, a HUGE plus to have a North America plug available in the room.

Just ok. I was not impressed overall with this hotel. All beds are twin beds the put together to make a ‘king’. The hotel itself is very old which is fine, but the room was kinda gross and could have been taken care of a lot better then it was. Lots of stains, and just smelled old. I would have given the service more stars, but the last night I was there we ordered room service and the food was frozen that they delivered to our room. Great location, but that’s really the only shiny bright spot.

This hotel is beautiful and in an amazing location. We had a lovely spacious room and stayed for few nights in December. Staff were friendly and helpful. We dined in the hotel restaurant on one night and really enjoyed it would definitely recommend. Loads of great sightseeing locally all within walking distance. Would definitely return.

A wonderful 5 night stay in central London. Beautiful hotel fitting for a special visit to London. Lovely quiet room beautiful breakfast buffet and the afternoon tea a delight. Lovely garden setting out the front of the hotel with a bar for cocktails and food. A memorable visit I shall treasure. D

Incredible service and lovely location. I felt extremely welcomed by the front desk workers, as well as the hostess during breakfast and the High Tea (Olana, I believe is her name - such a wonderful person!). The breakfast was outstanding and the location is superb. My only area's of feedback is that the hotel rooms could be updated slightly, with more refreshments provided (they are a bit sparse in the fridge). Other than that, lovely hotel and I would HIGHLY recommend it! 10/10.

Bought a Groupon voucher for 3 course dining, with a bottle of wine. Had a minor issue booking in but it got sorted. The food was superb, staff were very attentive and interesting. Great experience and a beautiful hotel. Couldn’t afford to stay there unfortunately.

My husband and I stayed here for two night last week for our trip to London. It says the hotel is a 5 star but I think it’s a 3 star at best. The location was by far the selling point. While the front desk, restaurant, and room were below expectation. We tried to order room service and had to call the front desk and the restaurant 6 times - no answer. Then the bedrooms did not feel clean and the tv sound system was in the bathroom. Overall very holiday atmosphere but in order to be a five star hotel, a lot needs to be improved..

Excellent location and prices are one of the better you find in the local area. The hotel is ok but lacks a bit of soul. Rooms are nothing special, small and some are windowless! Beds were tiny and I didn't find them comfortable. Can't really fault the service, they try hard. Breakfast was nice enough but the choice in the hotel bar could have been better. Overall the experience sadly isn't as impressive as the hotel looks from the outside. Value if you need a bed for the night but there are better places if the hotel is part of your holiday.

What a beautiful place. Only stayed one night, wish it could have longer, the room was huge, very clean and the bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, the coffee they brought to the table was probably the best I have had in any hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly, whenever we need to stay in London from now on, this is where it will be.

Great location and highly recommended. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to use a temporary room to change and leave our luggage since we arrived before the check in time. Rooms are very nice with great view of London, right in front of the London Eye Wheel. Nice neighbourhood and close to many museums, theaters and restaurants.

16 Dec 23: Afternoon tea ·        Even though there was the usual tree etc in reception, we were placed in an area with no Christmas decor or atmosphere. ·        The sparkling wine was between chilled and room temperature – disappointing. ·        The service was at best indifferent. Our coats were not taken until I called someone over and asked for this. ·        My dining partner’s hot drink was brought out, followed by the platter of cakes and sandwiches, sandwiches which were clearly not fresh, as the bread had a slight crunch. The scones were also too crispy. ·        Eventually, about 20 minutes after we arrived, my tea arrived. I thought at least it would be poured for me but no, I was given a strainer. The second pot I was given was not hot. ·        I was also disappointed to see that the toilets were not regularly serviced. The floor was wet, there was water across the work surface surrounding the sinks and the bin was full to overflowing (see pics). ·        At the end, even though it was clear we were ready to leave, we had to call for our coats. If you offer afternoon tea, attention to detail is critical, or we may as well get fast food. They need to up their game.

Lovely hotel, perfectly located for travel, bridge, Sea Life and close to heart of the city. Very welcoming, and lovely service. The walls in the rooms are a little thin and I could have joined in with a conversation next door. This woke me up. They were a bit slow with keeping breakfast selection topped up with hot food. However, I would stay here again.

Dined at the Royal Horseguards on several occasions for afternoon tea, dinner and Christmas Day lunch. The staff and manager were friendly, courteous and very professional. The service and food was amazing and they all had an “On the spot” influence to my returning for Christmas Day this year. Amazing hotel and definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My only regret is that my dear mum who passed away in 2020 won’t be back here to join us, but I know it would’ve been a 5 ⭐️ From her too, she loved it here!

This hotel is in an excellent location - just opposite the London Eye! And only around the corner from Buckingham Palace! I was not expecting everything to be so close when we booked. The staff were excellent and very helpful when it came to checking in and storing our luggage. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The bed was king-sized and comfortable. The breakfast buffet in the morning had plenty of variety and was consistently well-stocked. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely go again

This is in an awesome old building. It is within a short walking distance of several sites, the train station and the Embankment underground. The room and amenities we're awesome. Trying to communicate with the front desk to bring items to the room was hard. Seemed like a lot of the staff had weak English skills. They did try really hard to please when in person.

Went for Afternoon tea, beautiful location for a special occasion, but slightly disappointed at the lack of dairy free options. My daughter has a dairy intolerance and was given fruit salad in a bowl instead of scones, and a large square of chocolate cake instead of the small pastries. The website says they cater for dairy free & gluten free etc. I have been for afternoon tea to different establishments with my daughter before for special occasions and been given a much nicer selection. Rather disappointed.

My wife & Myself booked the hotel through BA and had a fantastic 3 day break over the Valentines weekend and Monday. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, nothing was to much, our room was fabulous (our TV was a bit temperamental ) as we weren't in the room that much it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, umbrellas available when it's raining, bathroom Elimis products fabulous. Please thank all your staff we were staying in room 647. Thanks Martin & Amanda.

Great place to make your base while on vacation or on business. It was nice to know that at the end of the day I would be returning to a comfortable and well maintained room. The breakfast buffet was always being refreshed and there was enough selection to have a full English breakfast or a bowl of yogurt with fruits. The only thing I could say might need an update is the restaurants dinner menu. That being said, there are tons of restaurants all around so there's always a place to grab a bite to eat. Worth staying in, and would stay again.

I booked a room for New Year's Eve and was lucky enough to get an upgrade to the Garden View room, which had a direct view of London Eye. The room was very spacious, with high ceilings. It was neat, but the age is being seen. The bathroom was not well maintained. The sink was partially blocked. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was nice. As part of the New Year's Eve package, we got free, late checkout at 3pm, which was great. The service was amazing. The only recommendation would be to do better maintenance. Also, the room had a balcony but was kept locked due to safety concerns. If the balcony could be opened, we would have a wonderful experience of the fireworks from the room itself. But I would surely go back.

Excellent location but very poor rooms for a five star Hotel. We had a deluxe room which comes with a mediocre shower over the bathtub. The furniture was shabby and old. The Hotel has seen it's best days and needs a total renovation. The service did depend very much on the person we talked do. Some went out of their way to help us, other were arrogant and useless. To expensive, I had much better Hotels in the past in London for 2/3 of the price in a similar location. Don't believe we will come back.

The hotel was always going to be nice, and our room, although only a standard double was comfortable with a new nice modern touches like a TV in the shower, mood lighting etc. Breakfast was nice as well. However what made the hotel stand out were the staff, who couldn't do enough for you. I'd definitely come again.

I stayed at The Royal Horseguards Hotel and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The historic building is absolutely stunning and the Victorian grandeur combined with the elegant, contemporary comfort makes for a truly unique and luxurious stay. The location on the River Thames at the Embankment is perfect for those looking to explore London, especially with its close proximity to Westminster and the Museum. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed, making for a comfortable stay. Overall, I would highly recommend The Royal Horseguards Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and historic stay in London.

We had this hotel booked through Costco Travel and it exceeded our expectations from the start. Luxurious hotel, full of rich history, great location near Trafalgar Square, the River Thames, London Eye and lots of other site-seeing locations if you are able to walk. Just around the corner from pubs, restaurants and souvenir shops, on the bus line as well. The front desk staff that greeted us were very professional and helpful as was a young concierge we quickly became attached to named "Roberts" who was so helpful to us with directions, phone difficulties we were having with a travel plan, and he gave us a private tour of the whole hotel with its rich, impressive history! He knew so much about the hotel. Roberts helped us with our luggage, hailing a cab and getting us acclimated to London overall. It was our first stop in a 17 day journey through England and Ireland. The lobby and hallways were so neat and clean and the daily breakfast was so fresh, tasty, filling and enjoyable. You could order off the menu or choose to eat from the varieties of foods, pastries, fruit, meats and cheeses, yogurts and cereal on display in the buffet room. While we are NOT gluten-free, they had much to choose from if you needed GF choices. Beautiful and classy hotel, terrific food and beverages and a top notch location all rolled into one! We so enjoyed our stay.

We had a great experience staying at this hotel. Hotel is very warm and welcoming. It is well located near a lot of the key tourist attractions like Westminster abbey and Big Ben as well as the West End. Service by the staff in particular was amazing, I left a coat in the room after checking out and the front desk (Nihid) and the manager (Raoul) both went above and beyond to help me locate and recover it before my flight.

Just stayed here for a week for my honeymoon and enjoyed every second! Location is amazing for sightseeing and is a few minutes walk from the Embankment tube station that can take you anywhere else! The room was clean and well appointed, bed was comfy, AC was cold and the shower was hot! The heated floors and heated towel rack were a nice addition to the bathroom. We also ordered room service for breakfast and dinner and both were delicious! I have zero complaints and would happily stay again!

Had an absolutely amazing experience at this hotel. Hamia was welcoming and friendly and upgraded our room to the Waterloo Suite. This room was phenomenal with spectacular views of the Thames and London Eye. Every member of staff we spoke to were friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. The breakfast was great and had a good range of choices to suit everyone. The hotel is in a central location with Charring Cross and the Embankment stations around the corner. All in all a perfect stay!
