Kein Smash.

The staff seemed really helpful. However, the room was mouldy and smelt that way, there was gum stuck to the light switch and the walls are so thin we could hear people walking up and down the stairs all night.

I booked a single basic room (shared bathroom), on checking in I asked if there was a room with minimal stairs (due to health issues), offered a room on third floor or basement, I chose basement as thought minimal stairs. On finding room I was horrified. Excellent location and bedding clean.

Well this is the lowest rated hotel, it is a dump, bathroom is awful, one night stay I couldn’t last 1 minute. It is like something from a horror movie. Bed bugs are common.

Most of these reviews are failing to realise that you are paying cheap rates in the centre of London, it isn't going to be luxury but it gets the job done. We've visited The Lonsdale on two separate occasions and we cannot say its great but it does exactly what you need. You have a small shower room inside the bedroom and a separate communal bathroom which was always clean and tidy when we went. The TV in our room had the basic channels but we were too tired to even bother! The room was basic and clean, the staff seems bored which i can't blame them for but they get you checked in and out and answer any questions we had. A stones throw away from the the dead centre of London, roughly a 15/20 minute walk and for how cheap it is, for a place to rest, I really could never complain.

The staff were v friendly. Rooms are ok. It was a clean room. Washrooms were clean. Location was excellent. Couldn't complain. Would definitely look to come here again. The reviews threw me a bit off. However its not a 5 star hotel, however having clean sheets to sleep on. Having friendly hotel staff. I also needed an iron and managed to get it, however for future i would recommend the hotel to get a better ironing table. Value for money. Recommended if you are looking for a budget hotel with some privacy.

I’ll start with some positives. Wi-Fi was good, and it was cheap. My shower was also pretty good. But that said my goodness me the room was in need of an update, as did the common areas. Really run down. Noise from other rooms made me think the walls were really thin so didn’t sleep very well.

This is definitely a 2 star place to stay. If all you are looking for is a clean bed to sleep in, then this will work. My room was in the basement area, room was a good size with a double bed and sink.. clean sheets and towels provided.. Room was very shabby.. paint on curtains.. different colours walls.. carpet looked worst for wear. Shared bathroom was fine.. clean toilet and shower with hot running water.. I would only book again if I had no other options!!

The rooms where not cleaned properly and the beds were very squeaky as soon as you moved a muscle. The walls are also paper thin, so any movements/noise outside the door feels like it is happening inside your room. The bathrooms/showers were even worse - the dust layers surrounded the spaces and it was clearly not given the TLC you would expect it to be given considering the price for the stay. The service was close to 0. The receptionist wanted to spend as little time as possible with us and was more interested in what was on the television. Can not with good conscience recommend this place to anyone, except f the person(s) only requirement was a good location.

I'm not sure how this hotel is still open, HOWEVER it is in the name. Budget Hotel. If you want somewhere to rest your head wake up and leave then this is the place for you. If you want a stay, stay well away.

I was accommodated at this hostel for 2 nights. Stayed for the price as every other option is pretty expensive. The location is great, access to every transport or even good to walk to the center of London. The room, well, not many expectations. All the reviews make very clear of hotel's conditions. Quite dirty and old. Something that I really got frustrated was the shower (shared). It's almost impossible to have a shower due to the water temperature being too high. Also, extreme noise since the walls are not soundproof. Overall, good to sleep (max 2 otherwise don't even try) but not to stay.

This place is probably the worst hotel I have ever been to. I was visiting while I had to use a wheelchair and the people working there could care less, not even a "look" and still placed us at the top floor with no lift access. My friend had to carry our bags and help me get up the stairs every single day all by herself. The hotel was absolutely disgusting. The floor, ceiling, walls were dirty. The showers had barely any pressure and the shower in the second floor gave us a heat rash due to it only being able to give us boiling hot water. The bathrooms had no hangers or anywhere to put clean clothes or toiletry bags, making it extra tricky to find a clean spot. The curtains in our room had stains on them, the bed was god awful and barely any sheet to cover our bodies. Without pajamas we would be freezing. I wish I could give the place anything positive feedback rating, but unfortunately, there is just too much that needs to be improved. I would have forgiven the place if they actually improved their service by helping us, being polite and kept the place clean, but that's not what happened. If you need an extra day due to change in plans and you only need a place to sleep, sure this place at least have a roof over your head. Otherwise, find a different hotel.

New years night 2019, has a tarnished memory because of this so called hotel, I totally recommend that you avoid this site especially if the site is still the same and not refurbished. The front of house was rude. They tried to get away with saying that the room didn't have a awful smell and a little air spray would fix it, even after us viewing it and the windows were wide open??? The site only after 40mins of arguing had the owner say to refund them after another couple newly checked in had started to ask for a refund.. I truly hope that this has changed since as the location is not bad for visitor's to London.

Good hotel, not five star accomodation but for its price it has everything you need. Clean rooms, friendly staff, perfect location. If you want a place just for sleep i think its a good pick.

I don't know what makes people write bad review about this hotel. What you pay is what you get, and it is a budget hotel in the middle of london central...the room and the bathroom are clean. just 20 minutes walk from many london landmark such as big ben and parliementary house. I stay for two days and will check out today without any problem

Absolutely vile! If you want to experience sleeping on the street ASMR (because you will need to have your window open to the max with the noisy nightlife below your window), not being able to breathe due to heat in the room, listen to every single footstep floor board creek throughout the night with addition of slamming doors, laying on the most dented and uncomfortable bed you ever slept on with mattress springs caressing your spine, mouldy walls with nice poisonous fungus you breathe in and taking a bunch of rashes souvenir to remember the worst place you ever stayed in, then this is for you. If not STAY AWAY as much as possible!!! Low price is something, but this is unacceptable for UK standards and central London. This place needs to get shut down! It's risking your health and well being and should not be operational!

Technically a hotel in London with locking doors, indoor plumbing and clean towels. That's all though.

Where do I start above the entrance is one name & on the window is another one. Check in desk said that they couldn’t find us, but they did in the end. Bedroom where do i start cracks in the wall, door frame filled with poly filler a 15”tv, the shower was really small then we had to used a shared toilet with everyone on that floor. Beds: they lumpy & frame was not strong, pillow was also lumpy It need to be repainted & we need somewhere to put ur personnel stuff like hair dryer, brush & makeup The anything that was good was where we needed to go was only 6 mins walk
