Pros: - The staff here were genuinely great, really friendly and helpful, seemed like lovely people. - Rooms were a good size - Location is ideal - Buffet breakfast was fine - Cheaper than others Cons: - The searing heat. Genuinely thought I was going to melt. 35 degrees with no air con, and just a tiny little noisy fan. Absolutely didn't cut it here. I slept with no sheet, completely starker, with the tiny fan on the bedside table next to me on full blast and I couldn't cope. - The shower has 2 settings, boiling water or slightly less boiling water. No idea why I couldn't have a cold shower or even just a warm shower. The shower pressure wasn't great either. - It's generally just very loud. All the rooms quite loud, hallways loud. It's a budget hotel and this isn't massively an issue, but just something to bare in mind Would have been an easy 4 stars, but being in 35 degree weather with no air con was one of the worst sleeping experiences of my life. I imagine it's perfectly fine in winter, but as climate change gives us more of these horrible weather events I can only imagine these rooms in this heat will be hell on earth with no air con.

The rooms are decent but nothing fancy. The front desk needs to be more friendly and accommodating to our asks, probably has some training needs... No good service to the room. You have to order and take your own order to the room. The choice of breakfast is exactly the same 365 days a year. Location is amazing... Walking distance to many historical places and river Thames... Also tube station

Great location, nice room and comfy bed, just right for an overnight stay. The room could do with extra milk as there were 4 little pots and you need at least 2 per drink. And only 2 teabags. We added breakfast onto our stay as we felt it was a decent price and wouldn't get it cheaper anywhere else. Breakfast was lovely, buffet style and all you can eat. Can't go wrong!

Clean bedroom, comfy bed. Rooms are small but that's fine. They are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Quiet and no real disturbance. Loses 2 stars and probably should be more as there was no hot water anywhere in the hotel in the morning. Every guest was complaining of cold showers and being met with "it's a technical problem". For me the shower is one of the most important things in a hotel. Was promised I would receive a voucher by email for the inconvenience, as was my colleague but as yet neither of us has received anything (11 days later).

Nearly perfect hotel for our night in London. The room and bed were comfortable with a vital fan provided, the great value breakfast was fantastic. The only fault was no air conditioning throughout the hotel during our stay. The restaurant, reception, corridors and lift were unbelievably hot. Would still go back and choose this hotel again, hopefully when it's not 35deg again.

For an overnight stay, it was perfect. Staff at the reception were very helpful and friendly. Room had enough towels + pillows so didn’t need to raise any issues there. Clean and tidy as well. The hotel is in a great location with good transport links. Also the bar is open till quite late so would definitely stay here again.

Good location, convenient connections to all the tourists' sights. Great value for money. Breakfast was again value for money and albeit a limited menu, it was a very good quality spread. Service could be better, especially the evening bar and kitchen staff, I found a couple of members to be rude when I asked for empty plates and cutlery to eat my take away in my room after a long day of sight seeing but apart from that, a good weekend stay option.

10/10 for location- within walking distance of the Tower of London and the Thames, also great train and tube connections and the area feels very safe. The rooms were larger than we expected, the bed was very comfortable and the showers were good. Friendly staff and really quiet at night for the duration of our stay.

The staff, location and general running of this hotel is 10/10. The value is very good (though of course it is expensive to stay in London), I didn't feel ripped off. The staff are lovely, so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The room itself was really nice, spacious, clean and modern and lots of nice little extras like a coffee machine and kit kats. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, the location is fantastic as well.

Hotel located in a central location a stone's throw from the metro and with the bus stop in front of the hotel. it is a comfortable hotel for those who do not have great expectations other than visiting the city in the simplest and most comfortable way. The room was quite large with double glazing for external noise. The bathroom was not very large but comfortable, the only flaw was that it did not have bubble bath even after an express request. The room is not made up daily unless requested at reception. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially upon our arrival Sabbir helped us with check in flawlessly. Overall I had a very good stay and I am sure I will return for the price and above all for the convenience of getting around London.

Couldn’t recommend more as someone staying in London for the first time. Staff were so welcoming and helpful and the lovely Nira greeted us on arrival and made us feel so welcomed after a long morning of travelling. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable in. The location was perfect, five minutes from two different tube stations and very central. The price was extremely reasonable compared to other stays in London and the restaurant and bar served food and drinks very late into the night (we were able to get a pizza when coming in at 1.30am when everywhere else was closed).

Stayed here this weekend and after checking in and making my way up to my room in the lift, I dropped a card with £100 cash down the very thin gap between the lift door and lift - you couldn't write it! I thought the money was gone but after reporting my issue to the reception desk, they were optimistic about getting the card returned. Fast forward to today, just a few days later and I am extremely grateful to have the card and the money on my doorstep! Cannot fault this service from Jackie and her team!

Stayed the night here for work as needed something close by to office. Room was spaces, as i think i got an accessible room. Looks like hotel has had a fresh carpet laid as it smelt all nice on each floor. Really good location to get around if need be. Price was reasonable for Travelodge.

Really nice hotel, right price. Staff are so friendly. My only gripe was not enough staff at peak times, the deputy hotel manager was serving on the bar with one staff walking around on the floor. I only wanted a ice bucket so asked her....she said you'll have to que at the bar and ask him..... Also Angela (I think that was her name) was so nice on check out, she asked how our stay in London was, even admired my wife's nails. Definitely be back, even planning another visit very soon.

Priced decently for London. It's centrally located and easy to find. No parking available at the hotel itself, as parking is at a public paid car park just down the street. Rooms are a decent size. No frills, but does the job. Chekc in and check out is seamless.

It was good but room could have been quieter especially as it was a super room. Lights didn't work in room but the staff easily gave us another room. The bar knowledge was a bit lacking but the staff were friendly. Nice location.

Recently refurbished, so has a nice feel to it. Good location with loads of bars nearby. Easy transport connections. Stayed in a “SuperRoom” but wouldn’t recommend it. Not sufficiently different from the standard room to warrant the additional cost. We don’t normally do hotel breakfasts as there are usually better options outside but we were rushed for time and tried the buffet. At £9.75 it’s good value for a full English buffet style.

Fantastic hotel. Ideal for short stays. Location seems pretty good (first time staying in London). Both the room and the bathroom were very clean. I didn't have breakfast at hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately the room wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Had to rewash the cups and spoons and even had to remake the bed as there were some big creases in the bottom sheet. I know the cleaners don't have long in the rooms so I kinda expected it. The staff and location are awesome though so that makes up for it. Breakfast was okay nothing super special and it's a good price for a buffet.

No air-conditioning a major negative. Bed had stains round the base. Hardly any soap in the shower dispenser which meant it ran out mid-shower. Breakfast was well run but food not brilliant. Can't fault the staff who were all friendly and attentive.

The hotel is very well located. The area is quiet in the evening and quite lively during the day. The room 520 was very clean, spacious enough, and had a very comfortable bathroom. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a super positive experience, and I would gladly return to this hotel!

I was absolutely disappointed appointed with the receptionist who entertained us because she told me to wait for 5 minutes for the check in but in the end I had to wait for almost 30 minutes and when I approached her later on because I was wondering what happened she just rudely responded to me saying saying oh I thought you got checked in already. Almost ended up arguing when she finally gave us the card key to the room. No apologies from her whatsoever. Very unacceptable staff behaviour. You have the time to chitchat with your colleagues and you have a customer waiting. I was so upset that day. Plus the cleaner who was servicing the room next to us was SO LOUD. What's the point of placing "Shhh" on the walls when the staff are not behaving themselves. I love the location of the hotel though. Walking distance to one of the tour bus stops. Other than that I have no other positive feedback. Will never come back to this hotel ever. First London experience but ended up horrible.

Nice room exceptional clean & walk in shower. Staff very friendly and helpful, good choices for breakfast & dining area is very clean. Special thanks to Toni working in the restaurant who was so friendly & professional with us both. It was lovely to meet Christina too & heart warming seeing her & Toni working so well together. We would recommend staying here if you want value for money in a great location with a friendly atmosphere.

Please do not confuse this hotel with London City! The names are quite similar & we got mixed up. However Nuno, Chelsea & Steven to the rescue who managed to move our booking to them & save me from walking miles on a fractured ankle! Well located, easy ample parking, great rooms & really great staff. We’ll definitely be back

Location was convenient for me and service was really good. Employee who did my check in was extremely helpful. My room was facing the main street so there quite a lot of noise (bring ear plugs). Room could have been cleaner, found nail clippings on the carpet and hair on the bathroom tiles.

Avoid! While the location is good, the hotel is definitely not clean! We had a few different rooms, one had bedbugs, another had a filthy chair they didn’t exchange when asked and none of them were cleaned in our 6 day stay! They said you need to request for the room to be cleaned, which is great and totally fine. However I had a long stay and asked three different times for the room to be cleaned, while the staff said “no problem”, not once was it cleaned! Every night I came back and it was still dirty, super frustrating to be so deceived. Better to pay a little extra and stay somewhere clean where they actually truthfully respond to your requests Also, 60 rooms in 7 floors, and only two working elevators. Getting to the lobby was a battle Wifi was bad and kept disconnecting too

It's a Travelodge so you know it's a no frills Hotel. Nice bar on ground floor. Room ok altho took an age for the shower to give out hot water!! The room was freezing upon arrival too so had to pop on the heater for some time to warm up. Basic, but if you just need somewhere with a comfy bed overnight in a good location, it's fit for purpose. (Overpriced though)

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. I stayed there for a week during my business trip. Considering London prices, Travelodge Central City Road is a very normal accommodation option. Comfortable bed, kettle, an ok breakfast. The window of my room was viewing the street but it wasn't noisy at night. The room could be cleaned more often, though. To sum up, I can recommend this hotel.

Was placed here by my landlord temporarily whist works were carried out in apartment. The staff are extremely helpful and made sure I was at ease during my stay (a few weeks during the second trimester of my pregnancy). My room was very warm, bed was super comfortable. I worked in the city , so the commute into the office was 15 minutes. Breakfast is amazing - great variety. Would recommend.

Clean and nice. The room was small and you have to ask for your towels to be changed daily and trash to be taken out. Apart from that, everything was good. Great location and close to bus stops and metros.

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful Kingsley. The room was excellent, very quiet, looking down into the dining room. Spotlessly clean. Good location for the Barbican. Breakfast was excellent, didn't need any more to eat until tea time. All the staff in the dining room were friendly. The staff clearing the tables were charming and very efficient. Gladly stay here again.

Staff were super friendly and helpful but there was a stain on the bed sheet where I was to sleep and a random sticky label stuck on it. I ended up sleeping on top of my clothes laid on the bed. Please check the bed sheets when made. Otherwise it was all very good.

Great base for our London adventures! Pro's Hannah! Fabulously lovely customer service person. They were happy, welcoming, chatty and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Felt like we were chatting with a friend x Location good Bed was comfy Black out Curtains were good Room nice and quiet Room was a decent enough size for us Con's Definitely needs air con, or more sturdy fans (and more of them) Bathroom had no ventilation 😬 Breakfast was a bit sub par - had to wait a long time for bacon and no hash browns or fresh tomatoes at all. Coffee machines and juice machines not working. Bit disappointing considering the cost - only did this once during our 4 day stay - and instead went to grounded/circle & slice ...... go there, its heaven!

Pleasant stay for a few days. Excellent location and reception staff were polite and helpful. Room was fine, although a few broken items could do with a bit of tlc. Breakfast was good for most, however I follow a gluten free diet (a medical need) and there was very little I could eat for the price. We asked if gluten free bread was available and was told there was white and brown out (wheat bread) - we doubted whether the question was understood. As the hotel caters for vegans and vegetarians, I would hope that they could now consider some gluten free options (as this is a medical need and not by choice) to be available on request - other hotel chains are already offering this service and there are plenty of products that have long dates/can be frozen to prevent unnecessary wastage. Overall, I would recommend staying here.

Not impressed really. Communal areas a bit grubby. Roomed not cleaned during 3 night stay - only towels changed. Very expensive. Door to lifts was always open so felt quite vulnerable. An altercation over booking in the lobby one night as I came home. Front desk team helpful enough. My key needed to be recoded every time I came back to the room. Very expensive for my stay. Best I can say was that it was close to where I needed to be.

Excellent place to stay for a trip in London. About a 20 minute walk to London bridge and right next to a tube station. The rooms had plenty of towels ,soap and pillows. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a basic, cheap room for a night in London.

Stayed here 12/08/23, excellent little find. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It was a warm night but with just a sheet and a fan it was comfortable. Although they warn of some traffic noise due to the location neither myself nor my husband noticed, even with the windows open. Breakfast was excellent, all fresh and hot, will definitely stay here again.

Walked in to the room and it smelt disgusting, had to open a window and air it out. Paid for the super room but there wasn’t much super about it if I’m honest, just a cash grab or the rest of the hotel is even worse. Can’t speak on the breakfast as I didn’t pay for it. If you’re staying there with a partner like I did be sure you don’t mind having 3 pillows between you both, just found that a bit weird. Other than the smell, dirty carpet and rude check in desk it was fine.

We decided to go to London for a 3 nights holiday and this place was hour decision. Our first impression was " wow " the room was bigger than we expected, very clean bed made properly and bathroom as well. The housekeeping team was discreet and helpful when we asked for privacy. The view from the room was fantastic. Overall we are sure we will stay there again when we go to London !

Very polite and friendly staff, free room upgrade to a superior room, this room had kitkats, coffee machine and hot chocolate on the side. Checked in about 1pm and out at 12pm which I liked the later check out. Location is great and central! The only thing that lost a star was the buffet breakfast… lots of selection but not that great! I’m not the biggest fan of buffet breakfasts anyways.. There is a bus stop right outside and various restaurants, pubs and grocery shops around. Overall a great stay!

I recently had an experience where I had to get 7 taxis last minute, Perry, the receptionist on duty at the time, arranged what I needed with skill and fast execution . I could not be more grateful. Thank you. Rest of staff good too- attentive and helpful.

This hotel is definitely one of the best Travelodge’s I’ve stayed in. Check-in was easy and the reception staff were exceptionally friendly and happy to help. The room was okay, apart from a tissue at the underneath the back of the bed and the floor definitely hadn’t been hoovered. There was adequate sockets and plenty of usb charging which all worked. The shower was very good and spacious. Breakfast was pretty good, no complaints. The normal food was also good, and the bar staff very friendly too. There was 1 lift out of service which meant there was a wait for the lifts at certain busy points but the stairs weren’t too bad. The location is also very central and is within walking distance to Old Street, Moorgate & Liverpool Street I will be back and I definitely would recommend.

The staff were friendly enough, and the rooms were what you would expect from a cheap hotel. Why 2 star and not 5, I'll digress. The bed was so creaky that simply placing your palm on it and pushing down slightly was enough for it to squeak. Couple this with us being walked in on after locking the door and checking in less than an hour ago, it wasn't the best start to our Travelodge experience wondering if we could change privately or not. This by itself wouldn't of been a huge issue but on our second night we decided to try the food, this was a huge mistake. Breakfast in the morning had been exactly what you'd expect, buffet style, no complaints. However after waiting an hour for our evening meal, (there were 2 table who had ordered before us, it wasn't a busy night) which wouldn't of been an issue if the food was good, but it ruined our opinion and experience. The BBQ chicken pizza was a let down, with the disturbingly dry and dehydrated looking chicken, safe to say it wasn't finished. I used two napkins to soak the inch layer of oil off my curry, leaving a remaining amount of oil that I still wouldn't expect from a greasy takeaway. The only reason we ate it at all was we couldn't be bothered to raise the issue due to still having a night left there and didn't want to have any issues relating to our stay, as well as generally not being complainers especially as an ex restaurant worker myself. Safe to say we don't plan on returning.

Location in terms of decent nearby destinations is ideal. However the condition of the bedrooms as well as the general smell of the building is somewhat disgusting, I suppose it is my fault for being a cheap skate. Ultimately you pay for what you get so next time I will spend the extra money on a pleasant hotel.

Great location, not far from the tube, several good bars within a 1 to 10 minute walk and only 15 minutes from Spitalfields market. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. The room was a bargain in comparison to many other hotels in London. Looking at other reviews and listening to the people i checked in behind i think people need to remember that this is the Travelodge and not the Ritz and should review it as such.

Nice hotel in the heart of the city. With small restaurant and good sized rooms. Please be aware that the half chicken is the smallest half chicken I've ever seen and the Knickerbocker Glory is actually a Banana Split topped with a single cherry! What I can say is that the staff made things work and we're very good at looking after you.

We stayed for one night and it was good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The rooms are basic, but very clean and tidy. Every member of staff we came into was friendly and helpful. Reviews mentioning noise aren't wrong but it's a budget hotel right in the centre of London. The front faces a busy road, the back faces a service road where deliveries are made and bins are emptied. Rooms are a bit hot and stuffy so you want the windows open which means you can't block it out. But again, it's a budget hotel in the centre of London. If noise is a problem pay more or spend a couple of quid on a pair of ear plugs.

We booked 3 rooms. The double room was small but fine for one night bed comfy. The two family rooms had hard beds, one bed had hair in it and the duvet cover had a hole in it. We didn't bother to complain. We had a noisy extractor fan and noise from external air conditioning units, the other rooms had loud traffic noise all night

We had a lovely stay, it was quiet and clean. Restaurant/bar was also clean with good food & drink and helpful staff. Definitely recommend the pizza, which they serve until late. Perfect location for a trip to London, right between 2 good tube stations. M&S a short walk away and Tesco right next door. 100% recommend and would stay again for my next visit. Only complaint is that when we arrived there weren’t any bin bags in either of the bins and we were given 2 half used toilet rolls. Usually this wouldn’t be an issue however we were staying for 7 nights. We weren’t given a hanger to put on our door to get a top up. Eventually we did get one by using a hanger from another room door, still no bin bags though which are much needed during any stay. The hand soap also ran out during our stay. Thank you very much to all the staff for making our stay a dream ☺️

Excellent location on City Road close to plenty of restaurants and within a few minutes walk of the subway. Room are comfortable. Wifi is limited to two devices and is available for a small charge. Front desk is easily accessible from the street. This is a popular hotel for travelers and despite its location, the noise was surprisingly low.

Room was OK.. quiet for the central Location... no soap or shampoo available in the bathroom.. so I asked for that... wasn't supplied. Bin not emptied from previous occupant. Just below average. Went for a pint of lager at the bar... all lager was 'off'. Sigh. I just won't go back... nothing terrible but just too much choice elsewhere.

Excellent service and room was surprisingly large for such a good price in central London. Only 10 quid for early check-in as well. We had plenty of space for all our bags and baby stuff. Happy hour downstairs and lots of restaurants and tube station nearby. I would definitely stay here again!

Booked a family room for a 4 night stay with wife and 2x kids (8&10). All staff really approachable and keen to help where they could even when busy and system went down at one point. We ate in the restaurant on one occasion and the pizzas were very good. Darren and the rest of bar/restaurant staff couldn’t do enough. The room/hotel was really quiet and was good value for what we were looking for and expected. Room was small but met our needs as we never planned to spend much time in it other than to get some sleep. Ideal location for us arriving at King’s Cross station from Edinburgh and quick tube to Old St. 2 min walk from Old St to get around London with ease on the underground. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby within walking distance. Great trip overall.

Room was extremely hot. They did open the windows and provide a fan but it was still roasting. Also had a very rude cleaner who walks into people's rooms using their card when the do not disturb sign is on. Other than that it was clean and bed was comfy. Breakfast and bar service were good.

Make sure to use HotelTully.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This site will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of my favorites in the area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't be disappointed. Rooms were OK but staff were lovely. They stay open late for pizza and drinks which is a great addition. Room was spacious but no aircon and felt in need of a little update and more lighting (felt really dark) Location is great, near everything you need. Breakfast was extremely busy and chaotic on a weekend!

Giving 5 stars as we were really impressed with the staff who were really polite and attentive, the room was basic (as expected with Travelodge so you can’t mark that down!) but comfortable and clean. I can imagine it can get very hot on a warm day (it was around 18c the day we stayed and it was warm in the room). May be worth bringing a fan with you if you can get one in your bags!

Friendly staff, rooms are big and clean, things are a little careworn but they all work fine. Good location and price point for this area of London. Thanks all!

Not the best place to stay. I've stayed at hostels who are cleaner. The room was small for 4 people (my friend stayed there as well by herself and she got upgraded to a big room, doesn't make sense)and we only got two towels and one roll of toilet paper. There was no ventilation at all and a few times the room cards wouldn't work so we had to go all the way down to the front desk to get new ones. They tell you not to put the cards next to your phone which we didn't do,but it still doesn't work all the time. Breakfast needs to be paid in advance while I've always added breakfast on my tab at other hotels and paid when I checked out. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast either. Not many choices if you don't eat meat. The croissants and the bread were the worst I've ever had.

We were staying in London over the weekend and this was the most convenient hotel available for our location and price. I was slightly apprehensive about staying here over Halloween weekend and wondered whether there would be loud groups and noise in the early hours but this turned out to be an unnecessary worry - our floor was quiet and I couldn't hear anyone else from inside the rooms. The beds were comfy and we went for the late check out option for a tenner which was relaxing. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful and there are security guards at night so the place felt very safe. I'm very pleased with my stay and will come again.

A great Central hotel, with usual perks of London with many great transport link's nearby. The staff were great, very helpful, even whilst it was busy and a searing hot day. My only gripe was that I booked a twin room, with 2 single beds, and for a double bed instead. They stated none were available, even though my room was booked months in advance. Some for warning would been kind. Luckily I was staying a sibling, so we didn't mind sharing too much, but as previously mention, if was very hit and sharing wasn't ideal. Though many travelodge now have aircon or a good heat exchange in rooms these days, this one doesn't, so if you don't cope well with heat, like myself, I would suggest ensure you select a hotel that definitely has aircon available. Despite these niggles, it was a pleasant stay and would happily stay again.

Needed to be in London for a hospital appointment so booked the travelodge and it was conveniently located. Paid to upgrade the room as we would be here a couple days. Left the sign on the door saying we wanted the tea and coffee refilled and the towels replaced. Got back into the room at 6pm to the sign still on the door and walked in to smell of damp towels! No clean towels, no bins emptied, no tea and coffee refilled! Went to reception to complain and I just got I can give you clean towels now. No apology or coming to empty the bins, take the old towels away or coffee top up! We then went to the bar for food and drink, my partner ordered a Budweiser but the person couldn’t pull a pint and was spooning off the froth with a spoon. He then said it was the pump and changed his drink to Stella but had the same issue. He eventually got his manager to come and pour it. Sale to say we didn’t order good as the bar service put us off. Seems a nice hotel but is a little run down, rooms are ok but service is shocking!

Cannot appreciate the staff more! They generously helped out with all my extra requests with my 1 yr old. We didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast but it looked amazing. Really appreciate Hannah for her help with our luggage storage post check out. Cons - room was on the smaller side and had minimal airflow though the window was able to be opened :)

Great, clean room, brilliant staff - nothing a problem and location was good. Fan provided in the room had seen better days and had to have the window open which faced the street. It was noisy all night and it disturbed my sleep. Not a peep of noise inside but try and get a room which doesn’t face onto the street at the front.

Stayed two nights and was really pleased with this hotel. Immaculately clean room, with great amenities. Very quiet. Great reasonably priced restaurant. Location excellent. Bus stop just outside front door to West end. Lots of local shops and delis nearby. The most outstanding feature of this hotel is the professionalism of the staff. Reception, room, bar and restaurant staff were exceptional. A special thanks to Joanne in the restaurant and Darron in the bar who both made us feel so welcome. Could nit have done more. Thank you. Will definitely return.
