Great budget hostel friendly staff clean rooms and bathrooms. Nice clean linen, comfortable beds. Big lounge great for study or chill out. The hostel is generally in good shape. They have laundry and kitchen, also continental breakfast is available. Nothing to complain about really.

This hostel is borderline a landfill. There is always always always piles of trash at the back. I've never seen such a bad business as this one. After telling them multiple times that their trash gets blown all over the road, no action was ever taken. If you ever wonder where all the trash at the Limehouse marina comes from, it's here! Nothing like having a street that's always filled with trash. Side note: the people visiting this place are the shadiest guys I've ever seen. You will always find someone doing drugs outside. And cops show up every other week.

BEWARE: THIS HOSTEL TOLERATES SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THEIR PREMISES My friend stayed at Limhouse Hostel two nights ago and was sexually assaulted by a man in mixed-sex room during the night. She reported it to the (male) staff present at the reception, only to hear that they will move her (yes, her, you heard it right) to another room! No action taken to remove the perpetrator from the hostel, no call made to the police to report the assault, no current (female) guests who continued to stay in the same room were warned that there's was a sexual predator sleeping nearby. We called the hostel today and were told that they 'spoke to the guy' - yes, they engaged in a conversation with the perpetrator, leaving the victim to fend for herself. Great customer service, Limehouse Hostel - I hope all women intending to stay at your premises will read this post and find another, safer, respectful place to enjoy London.

It's a rather horrible and filthy place full of shady characters in a poor London neighborhood. The Via Hostel in Lewisham (just across the river) is a better option if you're on a budget.

I felt the place allocated rooms based on races. My room had a smell that wouldn't leave even after airy it for hours. I was there for three nights and the bathrooms were never cleaned. I suppose you get what you pay for. It's in a good location though

The hostel is dirty, so that even the most intimate person comes to its limits. On the floor there are hairs of all the residents of the room who were there in front of you. The bed linen is partially soiled with blood and other dirt. The bunk beds are extremely shaky and seem to almost collapse with every small movement. Also the bathroom is full of hair on the floor and especially in the shower. A big flaw is also the window, which you can neither open nor close. Cold air moves into the rooms all night long and you have no way to keep warm. A final point is also breakfast. That there is only toast and muesli is fine, but the dishes are so dirty that you are not able to put any of it in your mouth once it was on the plate.

Do NOT give this place your money or stay here. If I could give this place 0 stars or less, I would. I have stayed in many hostels over the years and have never been as shocked and disgusted at the quality of the room myself and a group of friends were allocated. The dorm was tiny and had zero storage for luggage or anything else. I wish that were the worst of our troubles, but it wasn’t. The room absolutely stank of damp and mould, and no amount of airing it out or air freshener helped. The damp was so bad that the room was riddled with mould, both green and black, under the beds and along the skirting. I don’t think the room had ever been cleaned. Every single surface in the room had dirty marks on it. The bathroom floor was coated in a thick film of grime and dirt and hair, so dirty that we could not use it without anything on our feet. I am not exaggerating when I say that the cleanest thing in there was the toilet. We couldn’t use the shower either due to the water not draining away and instead seeping out straight through the seal in the shower tray, out onto the bathroom floor and under the door into the dorm room, subsequently soaking anything left on the ground nearby. The tap constantly dribbled into the sink, which didn’t drain properly either. The whole bathroom was permanently wet, even the toilet paper was damp to the touch. There was no soap provided at all. We were given dirty bedding and the mattresses had mould on them. On the upper bunks, the sheets were damp due to the moisture in the room. The bunk beds were so rickety that they were almost impossible to sleep on. We were given a dehumidifier to help reduce the dampness in the room but it filled up with water within hours of being used and had a filter so thickly coated in dust and dirt it was a health risk to have running. After a 4 night stay, myself and my group have all come home with upper respiratory infections, due to breathing in the mould, mildew and dirt. I have had to immediately wash everything I had with me during my stay because the room left me feeling so filthy and my belongings stinking of mould. There was no signal or wifi within the room we stayed in, which meant that we had no way to make phone calls or even check our phones without having to leave the room, making this very inconvenient. The wifi available had no encryption on it, leaving it and devices using it open to infiltration. The plug sockets in the room barely worked and one of them had such a high current going through it it fried 2 phone charger cables and gave two of us shocks. I have a suspicion there was moisture inside causing them to malfunction. Outside our room, there was a puddle due to a leaking roof that stayed there the whole time we stayed. The communal kitchen had no kettle in it and was also absolutely disgustingly dirty, so much so we were unable to use it due to it being so unhygienic. The staff themselves were helpful and friendly, bar being given incorrect information regarding the kitchen areas we were ablate use, but that’s the only redeeming factor. This place should be closed down it is a health hazard and dangerous.

A nice place for a short stay. I was there only for one night (and not a long one either) and it was perfectly okay. The bed was quite comfortable, although if I had the middle or top bunk I'd probably be telling a different story. The bottom bunk was okay though. Even in a mixed 12 bed room there was own bathroom which was nice. Beds were clean, so was the bathroom, although a bit tattered witch frequent use. Breakfast in the morning was okay though I came in a moment when there were no plates free and the toast machine broke, but that's hardly the staff's fault! Everyone was perfectly polite. And since a bunch of us came to the concert in the Troxy (which is like 10 minutes walk, very convenient!), in our separate bookings we asked to be accommodated together and in a lot of cases we were, which was very nice. The only minus was that the advertised lockers were unavailable due to large number of people. The reception did offer to hold or the valuables for free though, so that wasn't that bad. All in all, good stay.

It is a very conducive environment & location to have relaxation. A good place

By far the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We rented a locker but ended up not feeling the need to use it for our personal belongings. Forgotten toiletries and towels and such could be purchased cheaply at the desk. Only complaints were nighttime noise levels outside, and misplaced expectations of the purchaseable breakfast being hot bacon and eggs. Would definitely stay again.

Very friendly staff and room was clean, comfy and as described. Only downside was the metal frames of the beds were a little shaky which made it hard not to disturb other guests when getting to my bunk. Aside from. That the large communal area is clean, well maintained and well equipped. Couldn't fault for the price or location.

My friends and I stayed at this hostel this last weekend. Our rooms smelled like food odor and literal poo. One friend had to return her sheets several times because each new sheet they gave her had blood stains on it. Another friend found a pubic hair in her other sheet. A single bathroom close to our room had blood and hair all over the floor, so we used the large communal bathrooms which were fairly clean. Keep in mind this facility is a co-gender space and there will be half naked men walking around the bathrooms. (I personally don't enjoy this) Other than that, there were outlets by each bed, the lights worked, the beds were wobbly (triple bunks), and a strong foot stench in both rooms we were in. We didn't end up eating the breakfast, so I don't know how that is. The common area downstairs was fine, a little dirty, and usually populated with people. This place was definitely not worth the money, but probably would have been worth 10 Euro a night if anything. It's cheap, so don't expect it to be any better than this!

enjoyed my 2 weeks getaway. The staff was amazingly helpful and made my stay there very comfortable. Doesn't matter the time of the day there's always someone happy to help. The breakfast is very descent and the noise is kept to the absolute minimum trough out the day. I will give an extra star because I actually met so many nice people there and will definitely come back if I have the opportunity to do so.

Once again hostel staff unable to keep their guests at bay, so guests in groups outside the premises entertaining loud antisocial behaviour past midnight. This place is disturbing the entire neighborhood. Council will be called

You need to watch the price for which you booked a room/bed. Although I can't say whether there was a mistake made from the website I booked, I was supposed to pay 39,86 pounds at the hostel, but they wanted to charge me 50 pounds upon arrival! They did bring it down to 40 pounds when I showed them my booking confirmation, but you should really be aware of this! Further more is a good place if you're looking for a cheap hostel with just the basic needs to spend time in London. It's near the DLR (subway) station, so you can reach London centre easily.

Not a five-star but not even a 2.9 of average: rooms for 12 may be bigger and one drawer per person wouldn't be bad. East End is not a vacation place but is way within the city and, in this area, this is a good accomodation. Public spaces are nice and the staff very gentle

Fantastic value for money. I got an en suite room for £50 which was basic but comfortable. It's walking distance to Canary Wharf and the staff are friendly and helpful. For 4 times the price I could have gone to a 'budget' hotel and probably had a worse experience. Will definitely stay there again.
