We stayed at the Clermont Charing Cross for about a week ahead of Christmas to see the magic of London at this time. Overall from a historical and architectural point of view, the Clermont certainly didn't disappoint. With the Charing Cross right in front of the hotel and the view of St. Martin-in-the-fields across the street, this hotel has lots of history to offer. We stayed with our two boys aged 8 and 12 in one of the suites. The suite afforded us a king sized bed, a pull out couch, along with a portable bed (board on a frame with a mattress) so all of us could sleep comfortably. PROS - A building steeped in history and architectural detail - Front of house staff are all well trained with impeccable etiquette expected from a hotel of this caliber in London City. - Room was always a good temperature and we were able to crack the windows when needed. - Restaurant decor was incredible - Taxi rank and Charing cross tube in front of the hotel - Walking distance to many major attractions - Black-out shades CONS - The suite had limited room for a week's worth of clothing for a family of four during the winter. - Suite did not come with the Elemis products as agreed upon - Suite was not made up before our red-eye flight arrival, so some hoops needed to be jumped through - Leaking shower - Back of house staff (dining, maintenance) didn't quite have that English etiquette you would expect from this level of hotel. - Restaurant menu, while robust, didn't have many appealing items that would really stand-out. - Can get a little noisy in the street Friday / Saturday in the wee hours of the morning Overall, great hotel, could really use some attention to some of the in-room details. Consider Savoy or Ritz if you are looking for that higher-end London etiquette.

Booked this hotel as part of a package, so wasn't expecting great things. Wow, how wrong was I? We arrived early, it is located right outside the main entrance to Charing Cross, how easy is that to find? Andrea checked us in and we felt a bit out of place in our jeans and T shirts, but were made to feel welcome. Another bonus is that you are given a token each to spend in the bar, a nice tough given London prices!! The hotel was clean and warm, the lifts shiny and spotless. The room was well presented, clean and comfy with monsoon shower head and even some sweets left on the table. Complimentary mini bar (non alcoholic) is another nice touch that others could do with copying. Breakfast was a buffet and the selection was good. Cereals, fruit juices and traditional English too! The only things that stopped me giving 5 stars, and I am nit picking really is that a) We were not told the bar was shut (and is for 10 days) when checking in, in fact, were were encouraged to visit. You can sit in the restaurant, but it isn't the same. b) The doorbell that is fitted to the room is not on a spring button, but on a on/ off. We didn't know about this and upon putting the card in the slot, this siren sounded and scared the life out of us. We had to go back to reception and when maintenance turned up, we felt like a right pair of lemons!!

Wonderful hotel. Unbeatable location. We ended up riding buses all around London and everywhere we went we could get a bus back to Charing Cross! The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel has a beautiful interior, and smells great (apparently a water lily scent designed just for the hotel)! Lots of lovely little touches everywhere. We will be back.

Wonderful hotel, great staff and really good location. We stayed for 3 nights and my entire family loved everything about the Clermont. It was the first place we stayed at on our holiday and while some of the six hotels that followed were more prestigious and more expensive none of them could measure up to the Clermont. Thanks for making the start of our vacation absolutely amazing!

Excellent location, beautiful hotel, great breakfast. Staff really friendly. Giving my honest opinion floors where squeaky in rooms above, had to ask to move room, best to ask to stay top floor. Staff where very understanding. But not taking it away from the hotel, I would stay again at it👍

Perfect for theatre land. We had a junior suite and it was clean, comfortable and excellent in terms of peace and quiet. Good staff. Not super luxurious but definitely pleasant. My only criticism was not having an a la carte breakfast option. I am not a great fan of buffets.

Front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The reception lady at the restaurant in the evening would however make sure your service comes with a dose of attitude. Location is unbeatable between two stations. It’s right next to the charing cross train station. Lots of restaurants nearby and walking distance to lots of attractions.

This was our third stay at the Clermont. The location is fabulous, staff are super friendly and the hotel has a very pleasant ambiance. A perfect blend of the old style of an Victorian building and modern touches. The rooms are functional and cozy. Breakfast in the old glamourous room is a treat. The Clermont has become our London home away from home and we are already looking forward to a next time.

Such a gem of a hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. The hotel and rooms were impeccably clean, luxurious and stylish. And the pricing is incredibly reasonable for central London. Most of all the location of this hotel is just incredible. You are practically near everything, be it a short <15min walk OR A short tube ride away.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. First location is amazing for first time travelers to London. Such a friendly team! Adorable touches you do not find in other hotels. Nice big towels, amazing rainfall shower with really great water pressure! Great toiletries i actually used even though I am picky and bring my own. Upon arriving in room there was bottled water and some local snacks. That touch made us feel very welcomed. The decor is so nice. The beds are very comfortable. Nice tea and coffee with proper tea cups in the room. They every refreshed our bottle water while staying over night! On site restaurant with fantastic breakfast. The hop on hop off bus is right outside the hotel make sure to ask the concierge for information and tickets. We were able to see so much in just a short 2 day trip.

Visiting London at Christmas time is magical and staying at the right place is key to an enjoyable trip. The Clermont Charing Cross is a lovely, centrally located hotel with a very helpful, friendly staff. In particular, the Guest Services Manager, Andrea was extremely helpful and efficient in helping me retrieve an important item left behind after we returned to the states. What could have become a lovely trip that ended on a bad note, Andrea's attention to detail provided me with a stress free trip home. We felt valued as guests with many nice details provided in the room for our convenience including a nice selection in the mini bar and even a beautiful slice of decadent chocolate cake welcoming us to the hotel! Many attractions within walking distance, you can't beat the location.

The Clermont Hotel is perfectly situated. You are in the center of London and many sites and museums are within a short walk. It is also next to a tube station and within steps of bus stops that can get you all over the city and to different important locations. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet (despite the lively neighborhood). The breakfast is the regular full buffet with a full English breakfast or pastries whichever you prefer. Dinner was very good and their tea is very nice. I loved the sun room in the restaurant. The restaurant staff was kind and welcoming, checking in with us daily about our vacation. The front desk staff was helpful with reservations and information. I 100% recommend it! (The gym is small, but you're walking everywhere - you don't need it)

We absolutely loved this hotel! The rooms were nice and comfortable and the location is incredible. It is within walking distance to all the main attractions and there are two underground stations just a minute away from the hotel. The staff at reception are incredibly attentive and friendly and go above and beyond to assist you in any way they can. The hotel restaurant is also amazing. We loved having afternoon tea, breakfast and dinner there and were very well taken care of by both Renata and Cristi. Renata is absolutely amazing and her wonderful hospitality is definitely one of the highlights of our trip. She is so friendly and professional and makes sure that the best service is offered to all the guests. We look forward to seeing her again and will definitely choose this hotel for our next stay in London.

Amazing experience at this hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and ready to help you with anything. The breakfast is amazing and fresh and the rooms are beautiful. It is not at all noisy even if we’re next to a station and in the middle of London. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel ! A special thanks to William and Ms. Jackson for being extra nice and helpful during our stay ❤️

Our stay at The Clermont Charing Cross was by far the best hotel experience we have ever had. From the location, to the service, to the staff, to the comfort of the room and bed, to the food we were very pleased with everything. Also, the price was very reasonable for the service and quality. The staff even showed professionalism when we expressed concern about the room we were in and they gladly moved us to a bigger and more comfortable room. Everyone at the hotel were pleasant to talk to and interact with. They all went above and beyond our expectations. We picked this hotel solely based on their reviews on several websites including Tripadvisor and Google, and I have to say they deserve every star and every compliment they received from all their happy guests. Thank you for the memorable experience and keep it up. We will definitely stay here again if we visit London. Cheers!

Just finished a five day stay on June 28. Clermont was a magnificent hotel. Rooms are small in the characteristic European fashion. That’s not a criticism. That’s just the way things are. But the room was clean and well maintained everyday. The hotel has an exceptional breakfast buffet and that was a wonderful start to each day. Central location in London is a plus. We could walk to many of the places we wanted to visit but even if we couldn’t there is literally an Underground Station next to the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful to any need we had. I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to London!

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. Our room had a London eye view and our friend's room had views of St. Paul's, (and these weren't the deluxe rooms!) Lots of hotel amenities, central location... Faultless. Will definitely be coming back.

Lovely hotel. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Renata was a wonderful host in the restaurant and the staff in the bar were equally lovely (Rosy and Amira). Would recommend especially if you're after a relaxed evening in Central London without all the hustle and bustle.

Our second stay at the hotel and things have changed slightly but still a great stay at this hotel. We got looked after really well as it was out anniversary. The room was good but needed a bit of maintenance. The TV was big but you could only watch a few channels at best and no movie channels. Breakfast was good but certain items was cold. The waffles were amazing. I can recommend this hotel. The price is high but its well worth it

We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant last week. The ambience was happy and peaceful. Renata was serving us and she made our dinners for the whole evening full of joy and delight. Her sweet welcoming smile coupled with very attentive service will definitely smooth your day’s hard work. For a place that offers a very tasty 3-course meal in central London and it’s not expensive, worth recommending and re-visits. Thank you.

From the moment you walk in and get a hit of the beautiful water Lilly scent… you brush off the busy energy of the city. In a perfect central location, you are seconds away from some of the most popular sites the city has to offer: the river, Trafalgar Square, The Strand, & plenty more. The hotel offers a beautiful bar and restaurant, small gym, coffee machine, and a complimentary mini bar with both soft and alcoholic beverages. The bed was huge and the sheets were soft as clouds. We had a room that faced the front of the hotel and has great views. The Studio Suite we had was massive and were even able to have a couple friends sleep over on the pull out couch. I jumped onto it and it was just as comfortable as our master bed! I give this property a FIVE STAR & label it a Must Stay!

I took my partner to the Clermont restaurant for her birthday dinner. The Hotel looked fantastic in its festive finery and we where shown to a lovely table with great views. We had the three course festive menu which was good and that was washed down with lots of lovely Prosecco. The staff remembered it was my partners birthday and sang her happy birthday and brought her some nice chocolate cake. This helped make it a memorable birthday dinner. A big thank you to our server Konrad who was excellent through out and the Maitre d Rosy who was friendly, attentive and supremely outstanding. Thank you.

The Best!!! We have spend weekend in this amazing hotel the location is superb and the building is so pretty and full of History they also have small museum on first floor next to restaurant with pictures from old times. Room was good size for London Hotel and spotlessly clean, Breakfast is buffet style and lot of choices but what make this Hotel THE BEST is amazing staff they are all so nice, friendly and they really care about guests nothing is to much trouble and they always find time for you. Well done to all they will be to many names to mention you are all stars. We will be back soon!

First things first: if you don't want to feel like a lobster being boiled alive in the shower, don't book the Clermont at Charing Cross. No matter how you set the shower, the water fluctuates between very cold and terribly hot. Nonetheless, the hotel is great located, just a few steps from the national art gallery. Charing Cross is right underneath the hotel, which is practical, but not if you have one of the rooms where you can feel the trains running (like we did). What robbed us of much more sleep, however, was the absolutely terrible bed. The two mattresses weren't even the same height and were saggy. Staff is nice and tries their best, even though the cleaning staff likes to overlook some things (like huge knots of hair from the previous occupants on the carpet). The hotel is well maintained (for the most part), but you should consider whether it's worth the money.

The location for this hotel is perfect, next to the underground, which is very helpful, very central located, many places to eat around the area. Our room (1305) needs a few upgrades. The carpet looks old and dirty, the bathroom also needs a few touch-ups, and the walls are dirty. We had breakfast at the restaurant. I still don't understand why the hostess and waitress were rude. We were not served our drinks as the waitress told us, "You serve yourself." The hostess didn't indicate where to go for the food. My husband and daughter went to the lobby to ask for sparkling water, and to their surprise, the woman at the lobby asked them, "What do you want?" Before either one could answer, she rephrased her question in a more polite matter. For these reasons, I am only given them 3 stars. We won't be going back to this location.

The room I had on the 6th floor in the adjacent building was large by London standards. What surprised me most during my 3 night stay was the quality of food in the hotel restaurant. I eat there twice and it was delicious. The hotel location is very central and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, great location and a great price. The staff at The Clermont were very pleasant to deal with upon check in. The rooms are spacious (we had three in our room). The room we had was equipped with a pull-out couch that was rather comfy. It's nice they provide the Nespresso machine, along with tea, soda, water and other light snacks (for free) in the room. They had a nice buffet breakfast and good food choices for dinner. The restaurant was very comfortable seating. This is a little hidden gem in London. Location is great as you can walk to many restaurants and landmarks/tourist sites. Will return for sure!

Just great ! The location is perfect minutes away from the London eye and big Ben. The staff was amazing and helpful. The room was cozzy and modern with a daily restocked mini bar. The hotel had a great Christmas decor. Multiple restaurants around the property and also inside. I'm really happy with our stay.

We had a bottomless brunch booked in the restaurant and I can honestly say Cyan’s service was the best I’ve ever seen. She was quick to refill our glass and very quick with service. Can honestly say if anyone deserves a raise/promotion it’s her. She was amazing

Great experience overall. Friendly staff, nice room and practical location. However you need to know that it's located above the train station, meaning in some spaces there are vibrations and noise. The east side of the hotel is located above a Five Guys, so that again can be the source of inconvenience. We had none of that and it was great. Also rooms close to elevators can suffer from the noise of passing customers, especially if the sleeping area is next to the door, which is unusual.

This is a great hotel for sightseeing in London. Right next to tube station and within walking distance of major attractions. Rooms comfortable, quiet and clean. Only downsides shower wasn't great and the breakfast was hectic with tour groups. Highly recommend though, location unbeatable.

Last minute booking on a whim, we booked this hotel because of the amazing reviews we saw on line. We where not disappointed , the hotel is beautiful, we had a room On the fifth floor , such a lovely quiet room with all the expected mod cons . We have stayed in a few London Hotels and the mini bar has never been fully complementary . We found this a very nice touch 👌🏽. We had Breakfast at the Hotel and the lovely host , Rosie took her time and showed us how the buffet breakfast was set out and went out her way to make sure we had all that we needed throughout our breakfast. It’s nice to be greeted with a big warm welcome, it really sets you up for the day , Next time , we will have to stay we have have to book for longer . 1 night wasn’t enough.

Great hotel to stay in London. Spacious and clean rooms. Central location, near to Trafalgar Square, about 10 minutes walk for Oxford street and Big Ben. Free mini bar everyday and full breakfast with many options. Also, when we arrived we have a free drink at the bar and the Christmas Day they left us a boot at our door with wines and sweets and candy’s. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is a very good choice if you don’t want to go out. We stayed for a week and it was a great experience. I would definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing hotel, the whole place is just beautiful. We stayed for the weekend for my birthday and had a fantastic time. The room and bed were huge, very clean and there were just lovely touches. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The hotel is right next to the tube and well connected to Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and close to so many handy amenities. We will definitely stay here again!

We didn't stay but we had afternoon tea here that as part of a day we had in London for my partners birthday. It's a beautiful old building and it's immaculate inside. Made you feel special to be there. The afternoon tea was fantastic and we both had a great time! Lovely food, champagne and tea in a beautiful setting. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Must stay here one day to get the full experience.

Location, location, location! Perfectly situated near everything Central London, this hotel is an ideal stay. Room was well equipped, bit of a walk, away from street, hence no noise. Hotel interior is well appointed and maintained. Our stay happened to coincide with Queen's funeral so the area and hotel appeared busier than routine. The breakfast service is the dining highlight; plentiful, many choices, well performed. Our only disappointment was high tea service. For unknown reasons, service that afternoon was haphazard. In all, my wife and I enjoyed our stay very much, would recommend to friends, and hope sometime ourselves to return.

Very beautiful property and excellent location. For Europe the gym was pretty decent size and nice. Bar and restaurants were great. All staff was very good. A few at front desk could be a little grouchy but they may have been overworked. Only reason I didn't rate this hotel perfect score was the showers are very small. I am 6'4" and 300 so I understand I am larger than the normal person. But even my daughter had a tough time moving around in the shower. Cristi and Florina were awesome. We enjoyed their service and conversations.

The hotel by itself is like a museum, beautiful. Perfect location and reasonable price. The metro station is next to the hotel that makes it even better. Walking distance to most of the great landmarks. The breakfast room is a piece of art, you must try it. Clean and friendly.

We were bought a brunch voucher for Christmas a few years ago and finally used it. Fab restaurant in a beautifully decorated hotel in a fantastic location. Food was great (though my husband's poached eggs could have been a bit runnier) and service was wonderful. The staff went above and beyond to make myself, my husband and our 6 month old feel welcome. I was not drinking and they swapped my prosecco for 2 non alcoholic beers which I appreciated much more than having sugary juice. Thanks Clermont! We will be back!

Location is absolutely the best part of the hotel. Close proximity to activities on both sides of river as well as easy access to multiple tube stations, and to Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Soho and National Gallery. The room is pretty clean and decent size for two people. Mini bar was free.

We had a lovely three course evening meal here whilst on a short trip to London bought through Groupon. It’s in a beautiful location with a gorgeous grand dining room. Our host was Renata and right from the start she was so lovely and kind and funny and attentive. We loved her so much. The food was also nice. I went for the fish and chips and they had a lovely crispy batter and the chips were AMAZING!!!

Three star hotel at best! The location is excellent but the actual hotel lacks any charm. If you have a voucher then by all means enjoy the value but avoid if paying full fair. Breakfast - average buffet and overly busy Dinner - bland The hotel doesn’t know what it wants to be so allows discounted travelers to mix with those expecting 4star .. the result is everything suffers. Would not return.

We stayed four(4) nights. The best part of the hotel is the location. Easy to get to from different airports. We had some bad luck with our room as the ac didn’t work (on the long weekend we were in London with the highest temperatures in history). So the last night we could change rooms and that was great. No more taking off all the clothes as soon as we got in the room and taking cool showers. Also a need for a blanket for the first time at the hotel. The new part of the hotel is much better than the old part. The breakfast is so-so and we did eat there twice it was with hesitation we did it the second time (we decided to eat again on the day we were leaving as we didn’t want to drag our bags to a restaurant in 36+ degrees in middle of London). You can hear the hallways very well unfortunately during the evening and night. Summary: Location good. Didn’t even take a photo of the room this time around.

Surroundings fairly pleasant and the lobby areas bright and airy with pleasant fresh perfumed smells wafting through. The food itself was most disappointing. It was more akin to frozen items one might purchase from a low grade supermarket, nothing tasted fresh or freshly made. Food presentation was poor, looked microwaved. Overall not a good experience, the best thing about the hotel is it's location and the lobby areas experience

I stayed here with my boyfriend last month. The hotel is gorgeous, clean and welcoming. I organized the trip thanks to Andrea...He helped me and he recommended me the places to visit. He also reserves an excellent Italian restaurant for us. Thanks Andrea, you were very kind and professional!! The hotel was awesome...the room was clean :) I hope to come back soon!
