We
stayed
at
the
Clermont
Charing
Cross
for
about
a
week
ahead
of
Christmas
to
see
the
magic
of
London
at
this
time.
Overall
from
a
historical
and
architectural
point
of
view,
the
Clermont
certainly
didn't
disappoint.
With
the
Charing
Cross
right
in
front
of
the
hotel
and
the
view
of
St.
Martin-in-the-fields
across
the
street,
this
hotel
has
lots
of
history
to
offer.
We
stayed
with
our
two
boys
aged
8
and
12
in
one
of
the
suites.
The
suite
afforded
us
a
king
sized
bed,
a
pull
out
couch,
along
with
a
portable
bed
(board
on
a
frame
with
a
mattress)
so
all
of
us
could
sleep
comfortably.
PROS
-
A
building
steeped
in
history
and
architectural
detail
-
Front
of
house
staff
are
all
well
trained
with
impeccable
etiquette
expected
from
a
hotel
of
this
caliber
in
London
City.
-
Room
was
always
a
good
temperature
and
we
were
able
to
crack
the
windows
when
needed.
-
Restaurant
decor
was
incredible
-
Taxi
rank
and
Charing
cross
tube
in
front
of
the
hotel
-
Walking
distance
to
many
major
attractions
-
Black-out
shades
CONS
-
The
suite
had
limited
room
for
a
week's
worth
of
clothing
for
a
family
of
four
during
the
winter.
-
Suite
did
not
come
with
the
Elemis
products
as
agreed
upon
-
Suite
was
not
made
up
before
our
red-eye
flight
arrival,
so
some
hoops
needed
to
be
jumped
through
-
Leaking
shower
-
Back
of
house
staff
(dining,
maintenance)
didn't
quite
have
that
English
etiquette
you
would
expect
from
this
level
of
hotel.
-
Restaurant
menu,
while
robust,
didn't
have
many
appealing
items
that
would
really
stand-out.
-
Can
get
a
little
noisy
in
the
street
Friday
/
Saturday
in
the
wee
hours
of
the
morning
Overall,
great
hotel,
could
really
use
some
attention
to
some
of
the
in-room
details.
Consider
Savoy
or
Ritz
if
you
are
looking
for
that
higher-end
London
etiquette.
