The words fail to express the enjoyment and experience from the moment of entering the hotel. The service of the staff is inviting and professional, it took us a while to settle in and savor the charm of the place, and order from the varied menu. And when the first dish arrives, from the serving on the plate, to the first bite and the flavors you experience., WOW - take your time, absolutely amazing. Places that must be known in London. Highly recommend

On my most recent visit to the UK, I wanted to visit 3 quintessential, traditional British hotels for dining and drinks. The Goring scored the lowest of the bunch in my book. I give it high marks for atmosphere and cocktail preparation. The food, while I tasted only one dish, was disappointing - the reason for low marks overall. However, I do wonder if that was because I was seated at the bar and not the dining room. Same kitchen right? The Day Boat Fish was not available the evening of my visit so Sea Bass was substituted. The Kale element of the dish was also not available and I was told grilled vegetables would be the substitute when in fact they were green peas from frozen. Yes really. You can tell by the by the skin of the pea before you even taste the chilled preservation method. New potatoes? Nothing new about these potatoes unless under cooked and under seasoned have become culinary trends. So, stop in for a drink but don’t make it the last stop of your night.

Absolutely beautiful food set in a gorgeous room. The location of the hotel is set back and very quiet. The staff was very knowledgeable about the food and drink, was very polite and made you feel extremely welcome. The food was amazing, the detail in how it was served and cooked was just beautiful. We was so full from the quantity you was served im so disappointed we didn't have room to try the desserts. Next time though. Would highly recommend going here for a meal. We will be back

Unfortunately was left very disappointed at our experience here having high tea. Table was not ready despite having reservation in place for months. We were shuffled off and asked to wait in lounge room and left to sit for 20-30 mins before our table was ready with no explanation or apology offered. This was followed by another 10 min wait before even being offered a glass of water. The food, ambiance and location were all stunning as expected. The servers we did have all seemed pleasant enough but the overall service experience was not pleasant for us.

Wonderful stay...did an overnight package for our last day of London travel. My daughter was so thrilled with the quality of everything and the staff were wonderful. When we went to leave to go to the airport construction had blocked exits everywhere and nothing was moving. Peter Sweeney, the iconic doorman, 57 years employed and as he says "still on probation", walked to the end of the lane and started directing traffic to get us moving. What do you say to that...above and beyond. Our lunch, dinner and breakfast was excellent, again the service was top notch. Highly, highly, recommend!

My husband and I came for a very late afternoon tea (6pm) and had the most lovely time. It was our first ever afternoon tea, and our server Emily was a true delight. She was VERY helpful, keeping us smiling and laughing the whole time while making sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend for an afternoon tea that feels extravagant without feeling pretentious!

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you won't regret it. We went for afternoon tea, which was brilliant, endless supplies of tea, sandwiches, scones and cakes. The service was OK, good on arrival and then tailed off a bit. The setting, the conservatory, was lovely and it had all the refinement you would expect from a top class London hotel.

Perfection. Best part was that, after a week of being unable to access my suitcase, the concierge took it on my behalf to Rimowa to be fixed while my husband and I enjoyed cocktails and tea. We had one slight issue where we were inadvertently charged for caviar we didn’t order but it was immediately removed from the bill without dispute upon checkout. It was handled as a five star property should and this was also remarkable. It is rare the property that gets it all right but they did it.

My Wife and I came here for evening cocktails and bar food. We found the atmosphere to be very genial, relaxed and strangely like we had been here before (we haven't). There were some young children around but they were very well behaved and added to the homely vibe. The hotel facilities are very clean and well maintained. All Staff were very welcoming and helpful, with the explanation of the drinks being particularly good. The signature cocktails were beautiful, complex and varied and the food was very high quality. Drinks can be taken in the garden until 9pm. Will definitely be on our return list when in London.

Visited for afternoon tea. The hotel itself feels special. The decor is expensive and very tasteful and it has a quiet and private grandness to it. The garden is charming and lovely to sit and have a drink in. The service was very good. The afternoon tea was tasty and they offered more of anything but it wasn't special. It looked very ordinary and the cakes weren't great. The scones were the best bit of it. For the price, it certainly didn't stand out as one of the best afternoon teas I have had.

We visited The goring yesterday 7/10/23 for an afternoon tea as part of a birthday present for my Mother in law. The staff were attentive, personable and professional. The hotel was beautiful and clean. My husband and I have had afternoon tea in another very well known high end place before and I felt out of place where as I did not feel that at The goring. We did not give the rooms any stars as we did not but the dining room where we had our afternoon tea was lovely. Mr and Mrs Drake

Met an old friend for a cocktail in the bar. The atmosphere and opulence make this a very special place and the staff are charming and friendly making sure you enjoy the full experience. Best Dry Martini I've had in years.

Like any other business, hotels too are judged on the people they employ. I took my grandchildren to the Goring today, not to stay, but to simply see a place that shared our family name of Goring. The doorman has to be the most pleasant and helpful person I think I have ever come across. Hopefully he sees this, and can accept my families gratitude, for giving the absolute highlight to our day. The Goring Hotel has an absolute gen there. Thank You so much.

We had booked High Tea for a baby shower at The Goring Hotel. However when we arrived to the Hotel the table was not ready. The staff asked us to wait for a hour before we got seated. And then another hour before 80% of our group got their High Tea. The mum to be unfortunate needed to wait 1.5 hour before she got her food. And at that point 2 people from the party unfortunately needed to leave as they had waited 2.5 hours from when we originally had booked the table and needed to catch a train! I cannot recommend this place to anyone!

Went for a birthday breakfast with my mother-in-law which was pre arranged. Turned up to a blank room, no details about reservation or birthday request. Lovely setting, however there are nicer establishment's to which offer a greater experience and customer expectation. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Overall good. To start with, the employees are brilliant - caring, friendly, attentive and great personality!  Although having a personality in the hospitality industry might not seem professional, I love the authenticity it brings. Also, there seems to be a lack of communication among them, or it might be the lack of desire in finding better solutions. And it’s rather disappointing since the hotel is a medium size, and they can increase their efficiency. Nevertheless, they are a great team considering they’re still in the forming stage. Thought, I see potential in achieving the performing stage, I’m a bit doubtful. Then, I’m disappointed in seeing the poor utilities for the employees. Contrary to the believe of customers are at the heart of the business, one needs to consider that a business is run by employees.  Yet, they are different types of stakeholders and a fair comparison could be difficult. Nevertheless, employees can make or break a business as much as the customers. Although, the building might pose some challenges in the renovation process, you should at least be able to have a proper ventilation system. On the other side, the food and wine is close to heaven! The dining room holds several awards, among them a Michelin star. I especially love the presentation - colours, sizes, shapes, quantity (not to say that the taste is less satisfactory). Also, the wine list is undoubtedly one of the most fulfilling I’ve seen so far - with about 25 countries, and probably about 800 types (rest assured you have all the help to find your wine). On top of this, the prices are fantastic! Yet, I suggested you stay away from the tea since there is a need for a higher hygiene (not only rinsing the tops,  but using a special chemical, especially due to their material). Though, rest assured the place has 5 starts rating for food hygiene. Adding to this amazing package, there’s the garden - gorgeous looking with all the flowers,  great size, well maintained. And the brand overall - with the cute sheep thematic. It’s indeed something really unique. So, you might want to try it at least once.

The five star rating speak for itself. It is a must to read and view the online details of this family run top hotel. We, the four of us were very well looked after.

This is a truly beautiful hotel. Sadly the service wasn’t great. When we needed something we had to get up to find someone to ask. The staff were often huddled around chatting and not looking after their customers. The afternoon tea itself was very nice. I expected better from The Goring but, service aside, we did have a lovely afternoon.

This is a beautiful place to be, with luxurious but vibrant surroundings. We were very lucky to come here and had a lovely cosy meal with delicious food and great wine, while a storm raged outside. The picture is of a tasty miniature venison pie with incredible pastry.

Really outstanding stay. Doesn’t get much better than this. Only issue was ordering room service late night. They took my order then didn’t have the nice bottle I wanted. So then ordered another bottle. But they brought a different much cheaper bottle to the room. I refused the bottle and asked for the bottle I ordered. Then they call 10 mins later admitting that they don’t have that bottle available either (!) and offering complementary scotch etc. Fine whatever but then at checkout the next morning there’s a $50 charge for the cheap wine. Definitely annoying but not the end of the world. Would stay again but might BYOW ;)

We found the hotel rooms quiet, well maintained and the room service team had impeccable manners and service. The team was attentive but not overbearing both at the Goring bar/restaurant and room service. The location can't be beat with it's proximity to Victoria Station, Belgravia and Buckingham Palace. Treat yourself to the experience and you will leave refreshed and relaxed.
