We finally checked out today. Those were the worst three nights of our lives. This hotel advertises photos on booking.com which doesn't even come close to comparing to the rooms. There were 3 of us in a room with no option for decent ventilation as the window was directly in front of a giant fan in the backyard. In addition, the room was completely dirty. The carpet, a hole in the wall directly above the bed, moldy wall, and water was running through the ceiling in the bathroom. The entire floor was wet, it was hardly possible to brush your teeth normally. We asked for our money back and got half of it back via booking.com. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. The rooms, which didn't face the backyard, were completely different: renovated and clean. A hotel guest gave me a look into his room and said that the good rooms were given to guests from England. I have never seen anything so bold.

Uncomfortable, old, smelly mattress and pillows. Shower can only be set to either scalding hot or boiling temperature, so showers reduced to 30 seconds or less. Lift is still broken (after many months) so had to walk up 4 floors through extremely narrow and steep stairs several times per day. Staff were nice and location is good

Itโ€™s a big shame that this hotel is owned by one of the richest men in Malaysia worth almost USD 1 Billion yet the condition of the hotel is outdated and very disgusting. Checked in at 10.30pm after a long day of working and traveling to a dirty, smelly, disgusting room with dysfunctional air conditioner, broken windows and heaters that we were not able to turn off the heaters by ourselves that the receptionist came with a wrench to turn off the heaters. Have to leave the old broken windows open the entire night to allow air ventilation but itโ€™s so noisy outside. Uncomfortable, disgusting bed/mattress that weโ€™re having itchy legs since we tried to sleep before 12am. Mind you, we washed ourselves before going to bed, so thereโ€™s definitely bed bugs or the sheets are uncleaned for many months. Bedsheets and pillow covers were also smelly that I had to cover my nose with my shirt to be able to sleep. Pillows were causing headaches too. Bedside lamp werenโ€™t functioning as well. Paper wastes in the room, seems like never cleaned before. Carpets were dirty too, I dont even want to step on the carpets barefoot! The only area thatโ€™s cleaned and decent was the toilet & the fact that the hotel is close to amenities and tube stations. Booked this hotel thinking it would be worth it to celebrate our wedding anniversary but we definitely were wrong altogether. Definitely a nightmare! Would never book again or recommend. If I could give 0 stars to submit this review Iโ€™d have done so.

Great location and clean. All you can really say. Had to breath in to get in the shower (women have breasts you know) and couldn't stand in front of toilet as sink overlapped it. Paint in bedroom walls peeling, windows have big gaps letting draught in. Fire doors don't seem to close properly and if you could open your window you couldn't close it again. Female staff rude, males marginally better. No accessible rooms as had to climb stairs to get to lift. Not told this prior to arrival. Not like any other Berjaya I've stayed in before which have all been high quality and well managed. This feels like the place rubbish hospitality staff go for punishment. Depressing place. Not worth the price you pay. Find somewhere else and if you are desperate, sleep under a bush in Hyde Park. Itโ€™ll be less miserable.

We went to the hotel for our honeymoon. Apart from the good location, it was a bad experience. To get to our room, we had to climb a dozen stairs and than an elevator (not an easy task with luggage, and no assistance was given from staff). Our room-230- was tiny and stuffed. The air conditioning kept turning off, the water pressure was weak, small bed, every sound and light from the hall got into the room. Also house keeping only came in every other day (once for a 4 night stay). The staff was aware of all the problems, didn't fix it and was basically useless and unhelpful, even though they were nice. We had to call maintenance twice just so that our room would be looked at. Just to be told "this is the water pressure in the second floor". Really bad experience.

What a terrible hotel. This was my first visit to London with my boyfriend. We stayed for 4 nights. Unfortunately, we did not read the 1 star reviews before booking. The service was terrible and the room was not what they showed in the pictures. The windows cannot open and close normally. The heating was on hot and could not be lowered by us. My boyfriend went to the reception a few times (on several days) to ask if they could do something about the heating. Each time they came with false promises that they would fix it but they didn't. In addition, our sheets were not changed due to insufficient staff. If we wanted something for our hotel room (clean towels, toilet paper, emptying the trash, etc.) we had to indicate this at the reception, but as I mentioned here before they didn't always do that. The staff were generally young guys who I think had little experience because they didn't radiate the professionalism of a receptionist. Very unfortunate because the hotel room was not exactly cheap per night. Never again.

One of the absolute worst hotels I have ever been to. The room is abhorrent and ridiculously small for the cost and the bed was nigh on unusable and broken. The shower, my God the shower is designed for children, the shower head is positioned Low and is half the width of a door. The cherry on top is definitely the uninsulated tubing protruding out of the wall that would happily give you a burn while showering in the confined space. Save your money and yourself from this place, and go stay somewhere else

Pro: Room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was big as well. Cons: Heating was not working. Reception solved by giving us 2 wall plug heaters. In the end room temperature was ok. The mattress was a bit to much on the soft side (very old). In the end, given what we payed, it was a great experience.

My first night was very cold because of damaged window and hair dryer that was not functioning, it should be taken care of and checked before a guest occupied the room. And heater not that warm enough. However, even the room is small (good for me as small person) it was clean and it maintained the cleanliness, quite and staff were friendly and helpful they fixed the broken window and hair dryer immediately, which I was happy. And I really like the location because it is close to both underground station and to tourist places. I will definitely book and stay again. But hope next time when I go back on cold season and stay there I will have a warmth room.

Beautiful outside and lobby. Located in a great part of the city with tons of restaurants and shops. The first night we stayed in a "triple room" with a full and twin bed. It was very small with a window looking out to a brick wall and no A.C. But for 75 pounds/, I can't complain. The next 2 nights we stayed in a bigger, much nicer room. It had more updated decor, air conditioning and a street view. I was very happy. Both rooms were clean and the other guests were quiet. Staff was pleasant. As a whole, it was a nice experience. I would definitely stay again strictly based on the low price and the location. Located right near 2 tube stations. It was very easy to travel all around London.

I would definitely stay here again! The room was small and the decor was a bit dated but it was clean, quiet and perfect for just myself, especially given the price. Location was perfect - two tube stops within 5 minutes of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in dire need of some investment. There is clearly a lack of staff, and the rooms seem to have a patch up maintenance vibe to them. The lift is still broken, so if you have heavy luggage pray for a lower floor room. My room had no towels. Reception didn't pick from the room phone so I dialled the external number. I was told I had to wait 30 mins for a towel, and they forget. When I went to reception they offered me a hand towel. Luckily a new member of staff had some initiative and went to find me some towels. The location is amazing but that is the only good thing about this hotel.

Hello Everyone, I have stayed here for four days so now I can share my experience.. if you are travelling from Canada, USA, India who has a great Internet services you will cry here. There is a disaster wifi connection service at the hotel. Front desk service is not too bad. However, rooms with price is fairly okay. Heater doesn't work sometimes. Location is prime. If you are smoking allergic this place is not for you.

WARNING WARNING! Read all their last customer mentions, before booking.. Its terribly! We were tricked into paying a ยฃ50 deposit after already paying a high price for three nights. THEY DO NOT PAY BACK! We were promised a refund within a few days. A month has gone now, and they even answer our emails. We are a calm couple from Norway who have been in London several times for the last fifteen years. If we don't get our money back, we are never coming back to this hotel again! About your answer that it takes longer time for international transaction: Yes, but not a month! And you should at least answer emails. We can't write our email adress here, but we was at your hotel 4.-7.July. Our last email was for a week ago. If you don't got it, you should pay us promtly anyway. Carina S. and John Aa.

A great place to stay with close to 2 tube stations, lots of halal shops. Not the newest hotel with old carpeting, creaky floors and 80s furniture but its clean. Friendly staff, clean bedroom and clean bathroom, I am happy :) Thank you Berjaya Hotel London, you made my stay worthwhile!

Location is really nice, good shops around with easy access to Hyde Park. That's where the positive ends. The hotel it self has to be one of the worst, the lift does not work, the hallway are do narrow and the carpet in the hallway looks like it's never been washed. I was given a room on the ground floor, no AC, a single bed the felt like it was going to fall apart, the walls looked like they were never painted, damp in one corner of the room, wardrobe was about to fall opart when I opened it. The door to the washroom door was 4 inches short from the bottom. So all smell and water would just go into the room. The shower is about 2ft by 3ft you can just about to fit in it. Hot water took about 5 min to come to the shower. Overall one of the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and I travel regularly to London.

Although the reception was nice, the hallway to get to the room was SUPER tiny. Furthermore, the room was not what it looked like in the pictures. Very mediocre. The window we had faced a wall and had a huge ac or cooler attached to the wall that made a lot of noise so we couldnโ€™t even open the window. Not to mention the odd smell that came once we did try to open it. 3/10 for this place. This is not a 3 start hotel

Hated it. Unhelpful staff. We were traveling with elderly parents. The lone staff in the night shift didn't offer to carry their bags at the least. Sent us through a long narrow staircase into the basement rooms in the summer heat. Even though just a few steps up from the reception there was a lift. Horrible service.

Rooms are of a good size , slightly dated. Beds are really comfortable. Staff was nice. But the main attraction is the perfect location. 2 minutes from bayswater and 4 from queensway ๐Ÿ‘Œ The three of us loved the stay!

This hotel is in a superb location. Easy to connect to the airport. Paddington station and tube station direct in front the hotel. Very friendly staff. Will be back again!

I'm torn. The room is tiny. The bathroom is cramped. The lift is slow and small. Wi-fi is a joke. Honestly I would stay elsewhere - BUT I prize this location and that's the singular winning factor for this hotel. The beds are comfy and bedding is clean. Shower and toilet works. That's all we need for London where we're out most of the day and return buggered and ready to drop dead asleep. Buyer beware always.

THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD!!!!! The picture does not depict how the room exactly is. There were many cracks on the walls & ceiling. Part of the wall just behind the door handle was cracked so bad. You can hear what people are taking next door as the walls are hollow or fake. Bathrooms was so small that there was no sufficient space to even stand. Don't book this hotel. It is a waste of money. There is also a foul smell that is in the room. The beds were hard as well. Lift was so small only 2 people fit in & worst, it was not working properly. People with more luggage bags will have a hard time. This is the worst hotel ever and please dont book this. We immediately booked out of it the moment wee stepped into the room. We were very disappointed. Even the windows were faulty. Terrible experience with them.

Room rate is not cheap, and also have to pay extra mandatory deposit at reception. but you can even not get a clean and safe room. The hotel arranged a terrible room with broken windows, mess balcony. when we request to change one room, badly were refused by rude reception. Totaly ignore guest's safety and experience.

Lovely place for such a low price, great location, staff is very friendly. Beware that there is no AC in the building which can be quite an issue with this crazy summer heat we are experiencing worldwide. I bet it's great in the winter though. Also they were renovation during my visit, so who knows...maybe they are adding the AC as we speak. Do ask before booking. All in all I had a lovely stay and do recommend the place for cheap stays.

Elevators were not working and our bags had to be carried up to our room on 1st floor. Fortunately there was someone to help us. Room and bathroom were cleaned everyday. Tea & coffee were available in the room. Work was going on, in and outside the hotel, presumably to give it a much needed facelift.

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel is in very poorly maintained state and the rooms are in a very bad condition. Lift not working (looking at prior reviews this problem has been going on for a while). Room needs redecoration. Bathroom and facilities are really very basic. Only useful feature is the location, nearby underground stations and nice shops/restaurants (nice Malaysian restaurant attached). This hotel is definitely not worth the money and should be avoided as a place to stay in London. We stayed here some years ago (was also not impressed then) and things have not got any better (probably worse). Never again.

When looking for accomodation in London which would be near Hyde Park, this hotel at the time was quite cheap. After reading the reviews I knew the location would be invaluable. I wasn't expecting much more. The room I had was very small but adequate. I now realise that the conditions of the rooms there vary greatly. Some look great and other are much worse that what I had. The lift doesn't work and I think they have no intentions on fixing it! But the location was fantastic and there were many great restaurants and pubs near by. But I wouldn't want to pay any more for it!!

The location and proximity to everything was great. The outer beauty was astounding. The lobby presence and front desk staff was also great. However, inside the hotel room smelled old and damp. It was all manageable. However, what I did not like was the way they handled me when I was inconvenienced out of my sleep due to the couple above, with 3 children, allowed them to flood the tub so long and bad that water showered down into my bathroom at 7am. This was greatly sleep interrupting because I had just fallen back to sleep from being up from 4-6am. Check-out was at 11am so I had time to sleep a little while longer; but nope. The front desk staff offered a swift apology and for my inconvenience they could relocate me to another room. That was something that I could not take advantage of because I was leaving in two hours. What they did not do was clean the water up from my drowning bathroom. Water covered the toilet, shower curtains, all towels were wet, the sink, and the floor was flooded. They told me I had to wait for the cleaning staff, who was not set to come in for more than an hour, to clean the water up or I had to clean up the mess myself. Not only did I have to pay to stay there I had to be my own cleaning service. I video taped the entire bathroom as proof of this incident. I had to use the towels to sop up some water in order to sit on toilet, then step on them to cover the floor to brush my teeth and the staff never replaced the towels so I had nothing to wash/dry my body with which was not good. I contacted the hotel directly a day after check-out. I received acknowledgement or my concern and a promise to get back with me as quickly as possible; but nothing. It has now been more than a week and all I got was I am sorry this happened. What an insult to injury. While I did not expect to get out of paying; as I know I must pay to stay, I did expect to be offered something toward a future accommodation. I got nothing. I will be sure to not patronize them again; even though I believe that, by their actions, they do not want me there anymore! I have notified friends. We will gladly give our well-earned monies to another business.

We decided to stay there twice during our visit this September because the location is strategic, close to underground, park, halal foods and a walking distance to Marble Arch. Our first room was deluxe double; we are happy that we got quite a spacious room for london, it can be much better if its not in the basement because the heater is not functioning. Our second room - standard double was a bit in a sorry state from the design to the utilities. This time, again we got the basement room with a non-functioning heater :โ€˜( . Though the hotel have lift, we still have to use the stairs because the lift is not directly connectable to the reception. Not really a good experience as our luggage is quite heavy. The staff did help us once with the luggage on the time we arrived. The hotel do provide luggage storage and the price is reasonable.

We loved this hotel & it helped us enjoy our 3-night visit to London. It is a simple hotel, but itโ€™s very clean, the location is amazing, and hotel staff is nice. Maids do a great job daily. On top of all this - it was reasonably priced! We visit London again in January & stay here again.

  • 4/5 R R. 1 year ago on Google
For a budget hotel, it is very good. The room was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable. The common parts were in need of sprucing up. Very convenient location with good restaurants and transportation on its doorstep. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay in London, the deluxe room was great and always clean. They change our towels everyday and the staff was so positive and helpful. The guys on the reception was super happy with us and make our stay in this place so positive. So 5 stars for the good people working on there! We sure come back there soon ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Patrick & Ewelina.

Our room needed some work and if your waist is over 38 you will not get in the bathroom. Apart from that it was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was kept immaculate by the cleaners. The location is great for everything and tubes etc. Considering what we paid (we got a great deal) it was very good.

Good value for money. The lobby and hallways haven't been refurbished for ages, but the rooms were modern and clean - not as small as I was expecting. If you want a cheap, comfortable hotel in a fantastic central location, you can't go wrong. Until I become a millionaire, I will stay again!

It was literally 'a home away from home' experience. We felt most welcome at Berjaya Eden Park Hotel. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. All our queries and requests were acted on almost promptly and effortlessly. We have been coming back to this hotel every time we are in London. We look forward to our next stay here. Well done Berjaya Eden Park team!

The front of Staff (both shifts) were super welcoming and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. If only other hotels had staff like these! Although the hotel's decor was a little tired I accept 100% that you cannot expect the extremely low room rates to reflect 5* luxury!. The room/bathroom/linen/towels were fresh and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel and choose to stay again.
