Had a night out with my team here. Stepped outside for a minute and was not let back in by the head bouncer who I previously asked if I could quickly pop outside. He was so rude and borderline racist which was odd as he was black…Throughout his aggressive and dismissive responses I remained polite and he brushed me aside and then took my photo and said I would not be allowed back in for 6 months. When I asked his name he refused and didn’t let me take a photo of him despite him taking one of me without permission. I mentioned to his colleagues the way I was treated was not right and they seemed to shrug and agree. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you can as life is too short to go to a place with your team, spend a few hundred pounds and then be rudely refused re-entry. The management need to look at the way their staff treat people at their establishment as there is no need to be rude to polite customers who have spent a decent amount with them. I will not be returning and recommend you avoid this place if you can.

The worst, saltiest roast I’ve ever had. The roast beef was thick cut - tasted and felt defrosted and old. Texture was tough and dry. All the veg were beyond salty and the gravy hadn’t been properly dissolved and had jelly lumps in. So surprised the reviews are as good as they are for this place - I would recommend not to ever bother eating here, waste of money.

Awful service! The staff is incredibly unhelpful and impolite. We tried to extend our stay using the app, but the message directed us to go to the reception. The receptionist assured us everything would be fine, even checked us in for the next day, giving us different keys and a code. However, the next day, we were told to wait until 3 PM to check back in, and they claimed there was nothing they could do. When we protested, the receptionist firmly insisted there was nothing she could do. All our belongings were in the room, and when we mentioned this, she seemed dismissive. After making us wait, she finally completed our check-in, but her attitude was unpleasant. Our experience since arriving has consistently been disappointing, with long waits for service at the reception, especially at night. Our roommates received free drink coupons, but we didn't, which seems unfair and inconsistent. I also visited another location on the same street just for laundry, and it was another disaster, but at least the reception there was outstanding. Furthermore, at around 8:00 in the morning, the housekeepers were loudly talking and shouting, making it an extremely noisy environment where you could hear everything in the room. When I asked for them to be quiet, one of them gave me a strange, confrontational look. I strongly advise against staying at this particular location. Please note that the place is crowded with lots of people, there's loud music, and you can hear everything happening downstairs all the way up to the room. Thankfully, they do provide earplugs.

The actual hostel is shoddy. The bar staff and music/atmosphere are fantastic and laidback. Weekends are open until late with live music which actually plays every night. The doormen are ok some days and temperamental on others. They show sport on screens at the far end of the pub. Screens aren’t the best but at least it is in the box. Toilets have recently been improved and are now reasonable enough. The food here is awful and to be avoided. Too expensive and terrible quality. There are plenty of places in the area to eat instead. I come here regularly and love spending the odd evening chilling out here. It’s a great pub in many ways but it doesn’t tick every box.

Stayed there for 3 nights. Didn't sleep for 3 nights. The music at the pub under there were SO LOUD!!! 💀 There were also no elevators, just a narrow stairway. Not fun with super heavy luggage. The beds also didn't have curtains, so we had an incident where a girl at our room woke up in the middle of the night to a random guy standing over her, just staring at her. That was really creepy. The inn were also a bit difficult to find at first. It's kinda in the back alley of a pub.

to highlight: the location. Cleaning staff very friendly. The 5 days that I have been I have not been able to sleep well, the music is heard very loud since there is a bar downstairs. On some occasions a security guard did not want to let us in as there were many people inside the bar. The bathrooms are small and on one occasion I have found a person sleeping in my bed and reception did not give me any answer, the solution was just the next day to put up a poster warning about a fine if someone slept in another bed. I don't think I would stay there again.

My first time in a hostel and I loved it. At 80, traveling with my 22 yo granddaughter, 30 yo grandson, and 60yo daughter I can say every one of us were very happy with our experience. The staff was always helpful and the room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. We liked it so much we booked st Christopher’s in Paris which didn’t disappoint.

Possibly the most obnoxious, disgusting security guards I’ve ever experienced. Turned off their chest cameras so that they could ignore us and gaslight all the women trying to ask them questions. They were honestly just so foul. The bar staff on the other hand were so nice and unfortunately the pub is ruined by the people at the entrance

*UPDATED AFTER RESPONSE* I came here to watch the football and they put out the same food menu on every table. When I went to the bar to order food, the price which the amount came up to was nearly double what was on the menu. The reason for this? "sorry this is an old food menu". Then why put it on every single table? Unfortunately I already tapped my card and then requested a refund after hearing the total. Then was told that it takes 5 working days to receive a refund. That's the first time I've ever been told that, normally companies just issue a refund using the card machine but here they said differently. Thankfully I have enough money, but for someone else who may not have been able to afford it and then wait 5 days for a refund.. is absolutely ridiculous. To be fair, the waiter seemed new and didn't seem like he knew anything. But totally unprofessional how they provide food menus on every table with the incorrect prices. I won't be returning, unless I do not get my refund. EDIT 16/12: I have called over 10 times and no one picks up the phone here. Even when I call directly after an engaged call, no one picks up. I've tried in the morning when they open and throughout the day. They have not even rejected my payment which they have taken! I'm now having to log a dispute case with my bank because even though they stated it was refunded it hasn't been! I have literally been scammed here and paid for money for food and drinks which I didn't even get!!

An awesome pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. It is just next door to The George but without the extensive bar queues/longer food waiting times and with a better food and drink selection. The staff are very friendly and service is top notch. Some of the outdoor tables are covered too!

Very loud at night. Impossible to have any rest or night sleep as the Pub is directly under the room windows, NO aircons (just a fan), NO towels provided, NO smoke free areas as the hotel's Pub takes all the free space so you have to smoke on the street (if you are a smoker). Good room price, but now I also know why. Would not recommend the stay.

Small awkward rooms, beds, hallways, shower stalls. Sloped bunk beds. Lockers to get into are under the bottom bunk which slide out but if someone is in the bed they don't slide out so the person in the bed has to get out of bed! You need to buy a cheap lock at 4 pounds. No place to put your things when showering in the stall nor in rooms. They provide shower gel. The music and noise level is extremely loud so that the beds shake. If you shut the windows to dampen the noise the rooms will smell of dirty feet.

I planned a trip with my family. We were 7 people, two of whom were children. I booked a room of four seats to accommodate the children but, as the website did not inform that there was a need to send an email to the hostel reception, when we arrived there was no spare room for the first night, generating a bit of stress. Other than that the hostel is well located, with many restaurants, shops, banks and public transport nearby.

The price was really good! Although the rooms have been small, it was totally enough! It was clean, the breakfast was for free and delicious. Also, the service was good. The pub was a lot of fun and it was quiet in the room when I went to sleep! I would recommend!!!

Food was ordered but after a few minutes we were told that there was no bacon for the vegan BLT. My wife isn't vegan so ordered the Mozzarella sandwich instead. Surely on a Bank Hol weekend you'd ensure you'd have enough ingredients in stock? When the food arrived, the burger was fine but the Mozzarella sandwich wasn't toasted. Went to find someone to have it toasted and they said they would send someone out which never happened. There was also too much pesto on the sandwich. We were also not offered any sauces. Were we being ignored? I went to fetch some sauces but couldn't find any. When we had finished it took ages to have our plates removed and when we did we weren't even asked if we enjoyed it all. So, here's your comments. Just poor service.

Absolutely love this place, amazing music each night (shout out callum) and impeccable bar staff, but recently it seems like there may have been a change in security staff. Previously never had any trouble getting in before or around 11 on a week night, now it seems like a lottery with no rhyme or reason as to people getting let in or not, even when the bar isn’t close to capacity (including the outside space). Hopefully just a temporary glitch because this could detract from a normally amazing experience

Been here few days ago, great pub, amazing atmosphere and music. The guy at bar brian really has great knowledge of beers and lagers. Cheers to Brian for suggestion! I like the place, will come here again definitely.

Great fish and chips and a good selection on their happy hour! We booked a table on a Tuesday, there was a good atmosphere but it wasn't too busy, staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend

Stopped off for some food with my friends. Ordered a 3 course meal to share consisting of scampi and chips (fish and chips not available), buffalo chicken wings and a chocolate brownie (with an espresso martini and two cranberry and lemonade's). Whilst not terrible, it didn't really justify the £40 spent and there are better options available for similar prices. Probably would not visit again.

The hostel is clean. Food is good. Only problem is the noise at night coming from the pub downstairs... but if you don't have a problem with that, it's a good accommodation. Very central and near the underground station.

The team, food and drinks was all great! Only reason I’m giving one less star is because one of the items took forever to arrive (but it was also very busy). I wish they had more sauces to offer with food (there was no tobasco/garlic sauce). Pizza was 8/10 Drinks were 8/10

With this being my first time in Europe this place exceeded my expectations. With how many travelers and party goers they get on a nightly basis . It is very clean and well kept . Beds are really comfortable also. I will be coming back again.

Was expecting a bit more from the Sunday roast. Went with 3 friends and whilst it was very reasonably priced 3 of us were still quite hungry afterwards. The atmosphere is a little muted as well however this could have just been luck of the draw and the location is good.

The hostel is nice and comfortable, and every night there is live music. There's a pub on the ground floor, so if you are looking for silence this is not the place, since the music only ends around 2 or 3 AM. The staff was friendly every time we needed help, we needed to stay an extra night and they did their best to keep us all together in the same room. Awesome! If you don't mind noise and like the idea of having a pub right downstairs I recommend this hostel!

Been here before. This time was a bit different. Perhaps new management but things were different. Christmas and no mulled wine? How very dare you? My friend could not get the beer he wanted either. Hmmmmm. We were both a bit disappointed. Verdict. Must try harder.

The hostel is good and all, but the reception was a little slow, I waited almost 30min while someone else was attended, without the slightest attention from the reception. I was able to leave my bags. The room is ok, bathrooms too. Everything was fine until I left my bags in the basement (where everyone's bags are left and it works as a bar too) and there was a bag with a package of bread closed. When I came back after a few hours there was a hole in the bag and bread crumbs everywhere. It was most likely a mouse. I had heard that there were a lot of rats in big cities, but I didn't expect this to happen inside an establishment. Because of this situation, I will not return to this hostel again.

Always good atmosphere here, live music, loud and crowded, people will bump into you, but it's not in a bad way, it's what you'd expect. Plenty of outside space with heaters. Polite door staff, bar staff is also really nice!

Sana was absolutely amazing! So helpful and polite, super friendly and made our visit worthwhile! Stacey was also super lovely and nice to us. Issy was so friendly and polite, ensured the floor area was kept clear of empty glasses! They're all such an asset to the team! We will definitely return! Thankyou for such a lovely experience :)

Went for lunch on Saturday around 2pm. The place was empty but it took me 15 minutes to order drinks because there was only 1 girl at the bar and she was doing everything so slow like she didn't want to be there. We ordered food, it came quickly but the fish and chips was impossible to eat, it was hard like a rock, I don't know if it was prepared before and fried again or the chef just forgot it into the fryer.

I am currently staying at this hostel in early November 2023. This hostel is right above a pub which has outdoor seating. The pub is super loud and prevents guests from sleeping, even with earplugs. The main issue is likely that the window sealing is poor, meaning sound leaks through as if there were no window. The hostel is generally clean, but again, pub noise preventing guests from sleeping at night is a big issue for a hostel.

  • 3/5 Pabs M. 8 months ago on Google
Nice enough pub with lovely, accommodating bar staff but the Sunday roast was really disappointing considering how nice it looked on the plate when I walked past other diners on arrival. One slice of tough, dry beef and a few uncrispy potatoes. The other veggies were plentiful and the Yorkshire pud was fine. We were a group of 10 and I’d finished my meal well before half of my friends even got theirs served. It’s not like the place was heaving either. I wouldn’t return here to eat.

I realise there have been some mixed reviews. But I would like to commend 2 of the members of staff Ceaser and Gigi for their genuine interest in exceptional customer service and initiative to make sure all their customers feel welcome. Unfortunately, that's not what I can say for the rest of the team. But all in all food is good and the hygiene of facilities is up to standards

Great selection of beers, fantastic food (especially the burgers, good Lord!) and sensational staff. Live music every night too if you fancy a sing-a-long to some anthems. Big screens both inside and out if big sporting events are your thing. The perfect all-rounder!

St Chris is an excellent pub in the heart of london bridge. The biggest differentiator is the service, everyone here serves you with a smile and will go to any length to make sure you have a good time at the pub. Can't recommend it enough.

It was really horrible stay I booked through booking.com it didn’t mention the live music and people sitting literally under my room until 2am every night. Only on website it says live music every night but nothing about until 2am. On my first night there were 2 incidents some stranger trying to come. I stayed for 4 nights couldn’t get any sleep 3rd night told the reception at 1am as I was so fed up with the headache that the noise gave me. Even the bed vibrates from the noise downstairs. She said she would give me different room but not private ( when she showed me the room random man in that room ) I thought at least it would be all same gender room. Staff was not helpful at all Telling me this is how all their hostels like trying to give them right. Not even free cancellation on my last night so I would find somewhere else Toilets get blocked everyday and no cleanliness at all Only good thing is location but would never recommend it even to my enemy

Great music, great vibes, and best of all...the tastiest cucumber my taste buds have ever had the pleasure of masticating. Served in gin and tonics or straight to your mouth via the tongs of friendly bar staff. Five stars.

This is a nice friendly place during the day. However something has gone a bit wrong with the evenings, as they seem to hold a lot of private parties, which make impromptu visits difficult.

Best place ever. I’ve stayed in many hostels in London and this one really stood out. Stayed in 3 different rooms for a total of three weeks and I felt so comfortable and at home I wish I didn’t have to leave. The pub downstairs is also one of the best and most fun pubs in London I made new friends every night. The beds are comfortable the people are nice the location couldn’t be better, I became friends with the staff. Perfect. The bathrooms could be more modern but it’s fine.

I absolutely LOVED staying in St. Christopher’s Inn! Everyone was super nice and helpful! The service was great, and the place was really cool. Also it was easily accessible with public transport. During the day it was nice, quiet and comfortable, and on the evenings it was especially cool to hang out downstairs at the bar to party, have some drinks and listen to the live music. I definitely recommend it to everyone, who wants to stay on a budget but still want to make the most of their staying in London!

I go to this pub quite often and it is always ok but the last time, a couple of days ago, I go there and I was waiting to be acknowledged for a while as the waiter (female) and 2 colleagues (males) were chatting about their rota. And it is not that they didn't see me, I was less than two metres away from them. Other than that the place is nice.

  • 4/5 Kelsey Marlowe J. 2 years ago on Google
The staff were very kind and helpful, the rooms were clean and neat, though the windows did not muffle the noise from the pub below during the night. There could have also been a lamp or two in addition to the individual bed lights in the room. But other than these, I had a lovely experience.

  • 4/5 Ashley M. 2 years ago on Google
A good pub with live music in the evenings and a buzzing atmosphere at other times. Not the place to go for a quiet drink, but if you want atmosphere, then it's a good place! There is a fait bit of seating towards the back past the bar.

Awful place. Went in an hour ago. Shown to a table and told we had to move. 20 minutes later still waiting for service. Bar staff stood around scratching their arses. Walked out and across the road to such a cracking meze place. Great decision.

Awful place. Came here Thursday 7 April. Staff totally unattentive, no social or communication skills, totally miserable, 2 speeds: slow and stop, no desire whatsoever to show any interest in serving a customer. Standards have dropped but this place is a new low. Absolutely won't come here again and I advise you to ignore it too.

I always recommend this pub and the staff that work in the bar is very friendly. Last couple of times we haven't had a good experience at all due to the security man who did not let us enter is the pub and become very aggressive towards us with no reason. The security man refuse to tell us the reason why we couldn't go in (the pub was not very crowded) and far from being reasonable and explain anything to us he talked to us in a very rude manner.

Went for the pub and the staff was extremely friendly - we had a problem with our order and they took responsibility for it and sorted it right away which was really nice of them. The food was definitely worth it - best Sunday roast I've ever had in the UK! Will come back whenever I have the chance. I never really write reviews but it was such a nice experience overall I need to spread the word!

Terrible food. No cheese in my burger - It has to be sent back to the kitchen and then randomly sprinkled on top of the patty without even being melted. However the staff was nice and helpful. I guess it’s a nice place for drinks but I definitely wouldn’t recommend eating there.

  • 2/5 Herb F. 2 years ago on Google
Horrendously rude young man on the bar, asked to try a beer and he sighed and said “god ! Do you want to try bloody everything” (it was the FIRST thing I asked to try) not sure if it was a mistaken identity or not you don’t speak to people like that. The staff in question looked just of age to have his first beer let alone to be rude to customers ! Other than that nice food, decent atmosphere and a good location. Just generally soured by the moodiness of said staff.

I have travelled to over 60 countries and stayed at 100s of hostels along the way. This is a very good hostel, everything works well, it’s clean, the people I was sharing a room was nice and friendly. The staff was really nice and friendly. If you book directly (through the hostel) then you get a free breakfast, breakfast was good and filling. Only bad thing was the charging socket next to my bed wasn’t working. Room 5 Bed C. But overall a great stay at the hostel. £12 a night was definitely worth it for a central location in London.

I've been to st Christopher's Inn quite a few times. The Bar itself is excellent especially when there are live performers you'll have an amazing time. The downside is the doorman who are extremely rude and overly aggressive for no reason. The head doorman is the worst, definitely seems to be on a bit of a power trip. We politely asked if they were letting people in he said no which is fair enough. Then 2 minutes later he's let 4-5 brand new people in, so we ask again politely if they're still doing entry at which point he turned around got in my friends face and started screaming at him. Honestly you'd think he was about to put fight him. The security are such a let to an otherwise brilliant place.

Absolutely dreadful pub. We went to this pub for food and drinks. All seemed fine until the music started which is pumped through the worst quality speakers I’ve ever heard in my life all round the pub. This means if you’re trying to have a conversation/drink/food away from the stage all you can hear is the tinny vibrations going through you. It is completely unbearable. I asked politely for the speaker to be turned down which was only done temporarily before they turned it back up and once again ruined the atmosphere with the horrific sound from the speaker. The staff and bouncer also acted very strange. A bouncer came over who whispered to his colleague, who then whispered to my friend, who then had to pass on the message to another friend! The message was that they don’t allow hats?? Extremely strange rule for a pub that says no to hats but a big thumbs up to tinny screeching speakers that give you a headache. Even weirder was the fact that the staff member in question was wearing a hat himself! We left this place immediately and will never be coming back.
