My experience here has been a disgrace. When my company booked my hotel stay, we booked it through a third party. Long story short, my booking never came through to the hotel and I didn’t end up staying there that night (it was 11pm by this point and I had to drive home 3 hours away). This experience wasn’t as bad, the manager offered us a free drink and genuinely seemed apologetic. Anyway, during the time I spent there (1hour) sorting this mess out, I later received a parking ticket for parking in their car park for £100! I contacted the manager and he said he was very apologetic and that he would sort it out and I wouldn’t have to pay it. They never did and I got another reminder through the post. I phoned them AGAIN and again they said they were apologetic and said they would sort it out as soon as possible. I rang the next day to ensure it had been dealt with and they said it had and that I no longer had to worry. I’ve now received another letter regarding that parking ticket saying it’s increased to £140 and if I didn’t pay in the next few days, debt collectors would be coming to my house. I’ve now paid it and tried to call them several times since to make them aware but have had no answer or call back. I will never support companies or businesses who operate with such bad values internally, like this one. They are unable to communicate the truth or offer any helpful information.

Nice pub / hotel. Sports bar. Went their for a colleague work leaving function. Good selection of beers we ate in the section for functions. Food was ok service was good too. Free parking which is a nice bonus. The handling of cutlery could have been a lot better.

All ales and IPAs were not available which was a shame as a good selection. Food was OK. Location is handy for local hotels. Shows the football on multiple average sized screens. Not the cleanest of places either.

Pub was on the way to our hotel so popped in for a drink and some food. Service was incredibly poor to the, point where I had to ask for a glass and ice for my daughters J2O which wasn't even shaken before being served. The staff are truly awful without exception. They were laughing joking and swearing as if in a play ground. The food... When it arrived was very poor. And arrived in bits and not all together so I was eating after everyone else had finished. Definitely wouldn't be popping in here again.

The Experience was awful, staff very unprofessional, when beef lasagna arrived I could not taste any beef nor see it . When the question was asked staff would not even try to have a look or try to resolve anything and deliberately just argue. Would not recommend so many other places around , do not waste your time . Cheff accidentally happened to be by the bar , and would not even look at the lasagna, just straight arguing that it is fine . My girlfriend has tried it , and all you can taste is vegetables. Half of the beers not available , according to the rude staff taps were broken for quite a bit of time . DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

I got a parking ticket when I parked at their parking spot. I was there for lunch and everything was ok, but we got a parking fine 5 days later saying the parking was permit holders only. The restaurant and hotel did not specify where to park even though it said they have parking. Really frustrating with this.

The pub has a nice atmosphere although the prices have shot up quite a bit since the last time I was there. They have a nice selection of spirits and the nachos are so nice. I visited with my friend who had her baby with her. We wasn't allowed to sit inside as they have a no children policy. Doesn't make sense to us as we had to sit outside where everyone was smoking. Staff are friendly enough and they have security on the door which is reassuring.

It use to be an excellent place to have a nice family time such as meal snacks or a casual drink but during my last 2 or 3 visits we notice that the standards has dropped, tables outside untidy plastic cups and tissues all over the floor and the bar staff is very unhelpful. A positive point would be the food still good however we may not be back after many disappointments.

The Fox Connaught is an old-style English pub at walking distance from Prince Regent DLR station. However, it cannot be definitely called a hotel. Rooms are basic and definitely in need of an urgent complete renovation. Breakfast was not served and the staff seems always busy at the pub. No daily tidying up and there is no lift - I was on the top floor!! Insanely expensive! The only positive note is its proximity to the Exhibition Centre, otherwise to be forgotten!

Had the fish and chips which were tasty and not too pricey. There were plenty staff and service was quick. It was Saturday night before Halloween so it was lively and was entertained by all the costumes. Football on TV so hubby was happy apart from score! Loud music but it was Saturday.

Nice pub- we didn’t stay there so cannot rate rooms etc. Good food and atmosphere. Sometimes the music would be a little loud so you cannot hear conversation, especially when it was what we think was an ‘open mic’ night but it got adjusted during the evening. As we were having a bad stay at our hotel, we came here to try and keep away from our damp residence as long as possible.

Nice pub, out of the way unless you're staying in the hotel, which I wasn't. Very expensive, clearly because the business groups at ExCel can afford it, but it is still certainly a bit much for us when we went. Otherwise, it's a nice area and the outside seating was great.

This is my favourite affordable place to stay near Excel centre, but the rooms' standards have gone quite down. The staff and service are top notch, and the location is superb.

The Fox Connaught is a fantastic place to stay if you’re attending an event like Comic Con at the Excel centre. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The bar gets lively at night but has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff.

Really good location (at Prince Regent DLR) and rooms. Pub downstairs has a great pint of Guinness and the staff are attentive/kind. Will stay again

We came as a group of 8 without a reservation on a weekday afternoon for some drinks and snacks. Interesting food presentation, tastes okay. They pour Guinness in one go… Nice interior, very spacious.

Where to start. Check in is chaotic. Expect to be ignored whilst they serve on the bar. I was on the fourth floor with a knee injury and no lift. The room looks nothing like the photos. It was tiny, dirty and bleak. The windows were painted shut, which is incredibly dangerous in a fire situation. There's no toiletries. There was peeling paint due to damp in 1 corner. Breakfast was appalling and downright weird. Croissants, cheese slices, packet ham and cold coffee. No serving tongs so everyone had to use their fingers. No cooked option. Staff couldn't have been less interested. No one asked if anything was OK. No spoons for the cereal. And all this for the expensive price of £172. Go to the Premier inn across the road instead

Inedible Sunday roast. I would not serve this to my enemy! I visited this restaurant 2 years ago and the food was excellent. Last week under new management which has wrecked the food. Avoid

Obviously under new management and it shows. Background music was a nice change I was happily singing to myself/tapping my feet, happy helpful staff and the atmosphere was felt really good. Got busy with people coming in from all walks of life which made my evening even more enjoyable. Been coming here for 15 years and it is now the best it has ever been. You will feel truly welcomed, I would highly recommend.

Didn’t know what to do when we got in so we asked the person at the bar they told us to sit down. So we did 5 minutes later they asked us to move to a different table because we had a kid at our table who was under 14. Then we found a different seat. No waitress had to go up to the bar to order. The lady at the bar took her 4 tries to print the receipt so we could sign. Only good thing was the food was fast but the food was bad don’t come here!

Lovely pub, nice atmosphere outside in the evening sun, but...... 90 minutes to wait for burger and chicken meals which when they arrived were cold. The staff generally were not particularly helpful (although some were better than others) and I feel the evening was spoiled by the poor service and food quality.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. On the minus side, the room was small, and a bit tired (decoration, no cover on key pad…) On the plus side, we slept pretty well, the room wasn’t noisy. But most importantly the staff at the bar/restaurant were lovely. Drink and food were great.

Over 3 nights the kitchen and bar closed at different times, generally far earlier then publicly advertised. Staffing issues were generally the common issue. On the last night we actually purposely clarified when the bar was closing and had one drink. When we order a second drink the bar had shut 45 min early. The managers immediate response to our team “do we knew how to run a bar and know the regulations”…. Possibly business is too easy being the only place that side of excel

Can really see the new management cares about this great building. The atmosphere is chilled. Wide selection of drinks. Amazing new food menu, and the waiting staff are brilliant. We were served by Jennifer I think I her name was. Defo will be back! Well done all!

Visited here for my partners birthday and all I can say is if there was a option for 0 stars I would have given it so disappointed to say the least. Extremely unfriendly staff who were on there phones constantly whilst behind the bar and more interested in talking to each other then serving customers. The food was over cooked and burnt we both ordered burgers , also ordered nachos for a starter but they came with the main meals and they also were missing the toppings from them asked the lady to correct this and she rolled her eyes at us. No cutlery sauces etc were bought over with the main meals so had to ask someone for these. Paid over £80 in total and In all honestly I think it was probably worth £20. When we left to go home to the car two members of staff were finishing smoking cigarettes standing in the middle of the car park which once they had finished walked over to some tables outside to clear plates and glasses without even washing there hands. Very disappointed and wouldn’t ever return , please avoid

Food was lovely but customer service was shocking! My Autistic child struggles to eat and after my partner explicitly asked for normal chips not skin on fries as he is very particular with chips, we got served skin on fries for 4 quid with no resolution. Then as the chips was a fail, my partner asked for vanilla ice cream for the boy and was told the kitchen was closed due to an event in the bar… totally shocking.

The ambience is great....... you should totally visit this place in the summer. Lots of places to sit out with tables of various sizes to cater to small or large gatherings of friends. I love the final call for drinks... you can be assured you The staff are really pleasant and go about with a smile not too sure why most of the staff are young adults though, not a good ratio for places that sell alcohol. PS: would get great pictures next time 🤭
