Thank you to my new friend Maggie that I met in London, for telling me about this great little wine bar. Located in Leicester Square, walk downstairs to this landmark featuring over 300 wines, a nice selection of cheese and an eclectic menu. Perfect place to chill with a glass of wine. Service was great, Ben took good care of us.

Cremant de Loire, Opus des Marquets, plus something Lebanese and gorgeous. Knowledgeable and friendly front of house staff, prompt excellent food. A little too noisy for my tastes, do you really need that canned music? Sigh. Would have stayed for pud but for the clamour 👌🤜🤛🙏🌹

Love this place! It’s been around for 51 years; it’s gotta be doing something right! I’ve been coming here since 2019 and it is cozy with 7-8 bar stools and many 2, 4 top tables plus a cute cave with its own table - great way to celebrate. (Be ready for the narrow staircase from Leicester Sq downstairs to the restaurant/bar.) so happy to have found this place!

The Cork & Bottle is a quirky little place with real character. Located on Cranbourn Street just off Leicester Square you enter and immediately go down the twisty stairs. The layout is an eclectic mix of rooms and tiny alcoves that I believe used to be prison cells. A selections of wines and cheeses to choose from you can relax in the cosy atmosphere and chat to friends at your leisure. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Blink and you miss it, you enter the Cork & Bottle via a single doorway and down a spiral staircase, set amongst all the lights and madness of Leicester Square. It's unexpectedness adds to its charm. This is a retro classic. It opened in 1971 and you sense not much has changed since (apart from the prices, alas). The endless wonders of their wine list cater for all tastes. However at £9.20 a glass for the cheapest house wine, it isn't so kind to pockets. I had the chicken schnitzel - very tasty, although served with a rather sad egg salad. Authentically 70s one supposes. Perhaps the extensive cheese list is a safer option. Come for the wine and the excellent atmosphere. Long live a London classic.

Nice place!! Highly recommended if you want to have wine or cheeses. Prices are a little bit high for a glass of wine I would say but still a good place to go once in a while.

Really cosy place with delicious wine, and the ham and cheese pie is insane (in a good way). They initially placed us at a table that was so close to two other tables we were basically sharing, which was a bit weird. But we asked to move and they quickly sat us somewhere else.

Great selection of wine in a cosy atmosphere a short distance from the tube station. It's a hidden gem that deserves more visibility. Servers are caring without being intrusive and you won't need to ask twice for either drinks or food! Ignore the places that try to reel you in and go here instead!

Stopped for a cheese board and wine. Ordered a carafe from the special board and did not disappoint. Great wine. Lots of seating. Be aware of spiral stairs to reach the restaurant. We were sat in a domed alcove which was very unique. Would 100% recommend.

5 stars all round! What an amazing experience on the edge of Leicester Square. We felt that we had stepped into an underground cellar with lovely food, amazing wine and personalised service. Sitting in the booth under the arch topped off a great stop after a day full of sightseeing!

Quirky little place, lots of atmosphere, the barman who served us was great. Let us taste a few wines before deciding what to have. As soon as we sat at the bar, he poured us water and chatted about what we liked.

Very compact but contributes to a warm, cosy and inviting experience. I’ve only tried the cheese and wine, but the food looked delicious. Staff a cheerful, polite and happy to help; they really understand wine in order to recommend something to match our tastes.

Lovely French style bar. The little plates remind of the bistrot in Paris and are very tasty ! The atmosphere takes you back in time

Revisiting the venue of lots of boozy lunches in the 1990s! Great lunch on the way to see Sting at the London palladium. Brought back great memories!

A long standing hidden gem in Leicester Square. Great food, good wine selection and the excellent staff make for a great time. Always a winner and definitely worth a visit. If you like crab and king prawn linguine (with a touch of chilli) you are in for a treat ...

Great little wine bar, very understated, almost didnt spot it as we walked past. We were welcomed in, even though we had not booked. Lovely atmosphere place down the spiral staircase. We had a house rose bottle and cheese and crackers which was really good. Definitely recommend!
