The Rose and Crown is a great little pub just off the west end of Piccadilly. Lots of beer, well served by the brilliant lad behind the bar. Very efficient and with a great sense of humour. A tidy little place for a drink or to eat if you desire. It is around here that Florence Nightingale spent her last year's, the lady credited (rightly so) with introducing modern nursing and health practices following her lifesaving work in the Crimea. Why is there a portrait of Napoleon upstairs? Love it, quirky, eclectic and welcoming!

Rose & Crown is a low key pub. The food is tasty and the portion is enough to fill your stomach. The drinks are good too. The staffs are very friendly.

More upmarket and more space than the average London pub. Bar people were really nice. Good selection of beers including so.e zero alcohol ones. Tripple fried Chips were fantastic as was all food.

Classic and iconic 400 year old classic London style pub! Nice selection of beers, cocktails and food offerings. Had the London classic, fish and chips with a pint! Fabulous!

🚇 Hyde Park Corner 🍺 £7.00 Estrella ❤️ A pleasant but expensive Greene King pub. . The Rose & Crown is located on a quiet side street just off the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly. The nearest tube station is Hyde Park Corner which is a five minute walk away. . This pub is steeped in history and was apparently used by Oliver Cromwell's henchmen mid 17th century. The original name of this pub was The Greyhound with the present name adopted by 1763, this pub was rebuilt in 1889. . The pub has a striking facade with detailed stonework up the sides and around the upper windows. The decor here is traditional with lots of dark wood and brass fixtures and fittings. The seating is a mix of poser tables at the front and centre and low level seating at the rear. Around the walls are pictures of historical gentry and a couple of TV’s showing live sport. The servery is a good size so getting served is easy. Upstairs is additional seating and function room. . Now on to the beer, the line up was ok but all the cask was unavailable. I decided on a pint of Estrella, my pint was nice but cost £7!!! I was gobsmacked at this price point as I can’t see the justification. Earlier this day I visited The Goat Tavern (Greene King) which is a ten minute walk away and the same pint cost £6.50. I visited The Lord Raglan (Greene King) near St Paul’s Cathedral back in the summer and an Estrella cost £5.50! @greeneking_official this pricing is inconsistent. . The Lady who served was lovely and efficient. The atmosphere here was upbeat and there was a good crowd in. There was a large group Spanish ladies in sampling the British cuisine and a few day trippers dotted around. I managed to catch the first half of the Manchester derby along with a table of fellas in for the footy. . The @roseandcrownw1 is a pleasant pub in traditional surroundings and does a good job of looking after its punters. The beer price is ridiculous and just says “Tourist Trap”. Hopefully Greene King review its pricing here, you can’t justify selling the most expensive pint of Estrella in a pub in London. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 14/01/23

Typical London pub with a good selection of beers and food available. Sky sports showing on TV. Good place to watch the world go by with a pint.

We visited this pub for dinner, it's a good spot to watch sport with friends. We tried a the steak sandwich which was good but the bread was burned. The burger had also burned bread but was really tasty. The salad was simple and the chicken was so dry. But the beer was good!

Words cannot describe how vile the food here is. Clearly the only cooking done is using a microwave. We went on a Sunday at 12:30pm and they had NO Sunday roast first of all. What on earth is that about? Do not advertise that you do Sunday roasts if that's not the case. They were also out of over half of the starters. Then we eventually found something that WAS available to order and it was awful! My partners chicken breast (why was it grey?) was so beyond dry it was like sawdust filling your mouth. The rosemary chips....where was the rosemary? And my pie, the crust was basically like a leather casing. And the pints were expensive of course. £60 wasted on a truly horrendous meal which they probably feel they can charge because of their location. Really bad. You can find better. Do not go.

Really nice friendly pub. Food was great. The pie I had was a bit hard, I felt I needed a pneumatic drill to get into it. When I did manage to break it open, the filling was very tasty. My fellow diners all enjoyed their meals. Great atmosphere in the pub and the staff are lovely.

We had made plans for this holiday 10 months ago. My wife had her sights set on this establishment at that time. We made a reservation for 6PM Sept 23. Upon arrival, we entered the Pub and attempted to find some to seat us. We attempted to ask the bartender at that time and he just told us a couple minutes. Even though it was a nice temperature outside, it was pretty steamy inside. So we quietly sat and waited. No one came and spoke to us, as we watched people coming and going upstairs my friend thought maybe we needed to check in upstairs, which was packed and steamier yet. So then the barkeeper said to sit down at any table we liked. We sat there for sometime, and no one approached us. My friend went over to the bar to order us some beers. He was rudely and seemed intentionally ignored by the barkeeper. It was a terrible feeling so we just got up and left. For people excited to visit a 400 year old Public House we left very upset. We went next door to The Hard Rock Cafe London and we’re treated to very nice accommodations and food!!!

Our final dining spot in London and it was great. The fish n chips did not disappoint. A great variety of draft beers. Loved the atmosphere of a true pub. It is a 400yr old pub and located right next to original Hard Rock store and cafe.

The staff was completely disinterested in providing decent service. My food stayed in the ‘dumb waiter’ for 10minutes and the cook literally had to come upstairs and out of the kitchen to light a fire under our waitstaff. The soup was cold and scotched egg was solidified inside. To add insult, there was an offer to go ‘heat it up’ in the microwave

Traveled from U.S with a buddy, food was good. Service was a little slow at first, but everyone nice. Food was great and same for the drinks. Get the Crown and Rose burger. Recommend the Banana old fashioned, followed by their own Level Head beer. Need air freshner in bathroom. Good atmosphere friendly people.

I visited the Rose & Crown in Mayfair and it was a positive experience. They have a wide selection of drinks and I felt spoilt for choice. Thanks to Melitta she recommended a drink suited to my taste and it went well with my food. Will defo be back again next time I am in the area.

Blonde mullet bar chick was incredibly rude. Worst service I have ever experienced. Was scared to ask for a glass of water because it seemed like my presence alone was the bane of her existence. Only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because the other staff member who served our food was lovely. Good food though. Would recommend as long as mullet isn’t on shift.

Delightful, historic atmosphere, the friendliest staff in the whole of existence, and a cosy feeling of human warmth with positive vibes all round. Haven't had such an excellent cup of tea in a London pub in ages. Couldn't recommend enough!

Don't come here looking for Gluten Free food, despite the website stating they have NGC options on lots of dishes this is not the case. Staff seemed not to know what I was on about when I asked for a gluten free option that was listed on their online menu, and I was offered a burger with no bun at full price. Staff were friendly enough but very disappointed as we went out of our way to come here after seeing that they had good NGC options online.

I had a great experience on NYE it was such a suprise to have a live band. The service was great as soon as I got to the bar I was greeted by Alec or asked what I wanted once I had ordered, Toby saw me waiting and asked if I had been served. Usually you wait at bars for ages to be served. This was fantastic!

This pub is just awesome. Great variety of beers and spirits and very good service, I really recommend. Wendy, the manager, is just awesome and all the staff is great. I go there very often for a pint and my intention is to keep coming. Good prices too, considering its Mayfair.

If you’re looking for an authentic British pub with fantastic food and even better staff, then look no further than Rose & Crown! We stumbled upon this pub when we were looking for dinner and I am so happy we found this hidden gem. They have many incredible local beers on tap so you’re guaranteed to find one (or many) you’ll like. The food exceeded our expectations. I ordered the Steak and Red Wine Pie which was easily the best meal I’ve had in London this far. It was so rich and flavorful, especially with the mashed potatoes. My dad got the Mac and Cheese and said it was the best Mac and cheese he has ever had....and let me tell you the man has had a lot of Mac and cheese in his life! My mom got the Fish and Chips on recommendation from another patron and she was not disappointed! As if I wasn’t impressed enough by Rose & Crown, the staff treated us like family. Shout out to Dan and Frank for being the best people in all of London and making our evening even more great! Definitely ask them for bar recommendations if you happen to be traveling throughout the UK - they sure do know their beer and whiskey. I highly recommend you go to Rose & Crown if you are looking for a classic environment, great food, and phenomenal staff!!! Cheers!

My girlfriend and I stopped off here on our day out in London. The two staff members were very polite and attentive. The beer was good and the food service was reasonably quick and tasty! It was also very good value for money (given the location and other venues in the area). We will likely come back again when we are in London. Thank you!
