I was so excited for this visit (having only been to a restaurant with more than one Michelin star once before but it being possibly the best overall restaurant experience I've ever had) but wound up a bit disappointed and questioning the Michelin guide after having a few disappointing one (and now two/three after this vacation) star experiences over the last year. There is no doubt the food is good and the meat is impeccably cooked. But made me "wow," which, given the final costs, I'd definitely have expected. The staff also seemed a bit snobby rather than friendly. If you asked me if the experience was worth it, I'd say no. I believe our money could have been better spent at other experiences elsewhere.

The food and services were wonderful. The delicious bite size appetizers were on the house. The waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended the main courses which we enjoy very much. The desserts were the star of the night, probably because I'm a big fan of sweet so it was my main focus.

After a 6 month delay we finally managed to get out for our 1st Anniversary dinner at La Gavroche, where they’ve offered the same cheese soufflé every night since it was first served in the 60’s, by the late Michel Roux; we could have eaten 10. Michel Jr came over to check on us 3 times between the 12 courses throughout the night and knew my dietary requirements by heart. Identical twins moved around the restaurant baffling diners into submission as they served with stoic grace and wheeled around the larger than life cheese cart. What a service. What a treat

Come with friend to try their exceptional tasting menu, with wine pairing. Food presentation is good and taste delicious. You can feel the ingredients are very fresh. The cheese soufflé as the first course really amazing! Btw, very Impressive cheese trolley for cheese addict like me😊 Servers are all very nice and friendly with a little bit sense of humour. Very attentive and check on you only on the right timing. Pleasure to meet Michel Roux Jr in person while he come out to say hello to every table. Overall a very enjoyable evening! Definitely deserve Michelin 2 stars ⭐️⭐️

My partner took me here for my birthday. Has been the best tasting menu and wine pairing experience I've had so far. The waiters were really attentive and the atmosphere had a warm cosy feel to it. We also had the pleasure of meeting Michel Roux Jr who was happy take a photo with us.

Such a lovely restaurant. Wonderful service. Nicely casual but formal enough staff members were really charming. The food was superb. The homemade sourdough was so nice we all wanted to buy and take home. We had such a great time dining here.

The cheese soufflé is heavenly! Would go back again and again just for this dish. Other dishes are also good, the lamb and beef cheek are cooked to perfection. Chocolate cake with Matoro wine paring is sinfully additive. I’m a fan, and like all the fan girls. I got the cookbook, signature and photo with Chef Michel.

This was our first time at Le Gavroche and we were highly impressed of the service. The food lived up to our expectations and more. We could not have been looked after any better and the soufflé (dessert) was to die for. You will definitely be seeing us again.

Back again.....amazing food! Passion fruit souffle was incredible. Sirloin steak was perfect. Delightful dining experience. Delicious!! from the nibbles in the bar area to the courses served in the restaurant everything was delivered with passion and excellence. Great produce, presentation and flavorful. Staff polite, professional and attentive, lovely to see chef Michel Roux Jr come out and engage with all his diners. Extensive selection of good and some reasonably priced wines. Highly recommended. Always extremely busy so tables and time's limited.

An amazing experience! The dishes were rich in flavour and the level between classic and contemporary was just right! The chicken pasta dish was very flavourful and the pigeon was cooked well. The pear sabayon and shortbread dessert I chose instead of cheese was very satisfying and pleasantly rich. The alcoholic drinks were reasonably priced as well. Meeting Michel Roux Jr. himself and getting a photograph and a signed menu was a great experience. I will miss this restaurant a lot. It's such a shame to see it close after having been open for nearly 60 years and having such an amazing history and role in the British fine dining scene. Keeping 2 Michelin stars for over 30 years is a sign of excellence and determination. I wish I had been able to go more times over the years. I had a fabulous meal both times I dined here! Thank you for the excellent food and hospitality. Wishing all staff the best of luck in their new jobs and Michel Roux Jr. a happy and relaxing time with his family and friends!

Classic and modern French cuisine in a cosy, elegant dining room. Worth talking to the sommelier for his expert knowledge and accurate descriptions of excellent pairings to go with the beautifully presented and delicious dishes. For Chef Michel to be present in the kitchen and to greet guests is testament to his passion for the industry and respect for patrons.

A justifiably celebrated old dame of a place. Our first visit must alas be our last but we were so glad to have made it there. Impeccable from start to finish - service, food, ambience and a chat with Michel Roux jr. What a place. Will be sadly missed.

The food and service were both fantastic. The salmon from the "Menu Exceptionnel" was definitely the highlight of the night for us. The sommeliers pairings were also great and I'll be buying a few bottles from the evening.

Average Michelin food (worthy of a 1 not 2 star) but let down by rude waiter and poor service. Not recommended for couples looking for a special occasion as you may be unlucky and not feel respected here. They purely survive now on their reputation and location and have given up trying to provide any form of attentive service.

Total brilliant, lovely atmosphere we felt completely at home the staff are fully attentive and engaging taking time to have various chats with us from the welcome at the door to the good bye service was perfect, friendly & characterful the food is 12/10 the best we’ve had it really was the next level above what we’ve had at other top restaurants. The overall experience with food and service added up to be exceptional, something to be very proud of well done and thank you to all the staff. Can’t wait to come back.

I had the great opportunity to celebrate my birthday at this restaurant/experience unforgettable. It was incredible, and the food was just spectacular. I also would like to highlight the team that makes the whole experience incredible. I had the opportunity to meet Michel Roux, who was incredibly kind and attentive; what a night, what an experience, what a joy.

This was my second time at Le Gavroche and it was just as special as the first. The service is impeccable, staff are friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the food and drink. Nothing is too much for them. The food is outstanding, flavour bomb after flavour bomb. The portions aren't super huge but every bite is packed with flavour. Plus there are small bites in addition to the main meals, as well as delicious, freshly baked bread. It's quite a cosy atmosphere with dimmed lighting and sufficient space between the tables so that it doesn't feel over-crowded. A couple of differences from the first visit which didn't take away from the overall experience, but we're noticeable were; having the price on all of the menus (last time only the 'host' could see the prices), also, there was an amazing non-alcoholic cocktail called Eponine which they no longer do. They didn't seem to have any set non alcoholic cocktails BUT the sommelier was happy to mix a cocktail based to any key ingredients and also made some lovely recommendations. In addition, a lovely sweet treat was brought out as a surprise for my husband's birthday. Once again an amazing experience from start to finish. Thank you.

As good as you would expect tbh! I doubt my review will inform you if you're thinking of eating at La Gavroche; you likely already know about it if you're looking at it. But: classy and classic fine dining. Flavour in everything.

This visit was part of my big birthday celebrations. We opted for the food and wine pairing menu. All the dishes were amazing, the service beyond compare , along with the wines. We had the pleasure of speaking with Michel Roux, who also signed my menu and obliged us with a photo . I love the detail on the cutlery . If you are thinking about booking, please do so , it's a truly wonderful experience.
