The room is as the others have said, basic. We had a room with three single beds. Daughter said bed was a little hard but mine was fine. No coffee facilities, wardrobe etc. But clean, bathroomn felt new, good shower, clean towels. There was a rail for hanging clothes, a fridge and an armchair. They don't look like part of the room. Just put there because no other room available for them (I felt). It was too warm for summertime like now and the windows didn't really open. The one that could be opened doesn't stay up, needs propping with something. A half filled bottle of mineral water was already in situ to wedge the window open, sash type but not wide. Looks promising from the outside within nice neighbourhood. We were on 4th floor and no lift! Please check this before you book, especially if you have heavy luggage as you need to carry it upstairs yourself. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was more than adequate with cereals, toasts and boiled eggs, yoghurt, tea coffee. And Lurpak(!). Location is great, walking distance to South Kensington tube station.

Great but scary stairs up to our family room. The ladies in the breakfast room are fantastic however. And the front desk clerk was super friendly and helpful.

We arrived at the hostel and it was closed, there was a number to call for check-in but no one answered. We tried to call five times with 3 different phones but it didn't work. We ended up having to go somewhere else.

Where to start. Bedrooms, carpet was vile; sink while cleaned daily, was perpetually dirty and leaked the whole night with a drip, drip, drip. Every step taken upstairs was heard trough the floor and when the window was closed, the musty smell of mold and the carpet was undeniable. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and the parts that could be cleaned were so. The shower joins, doors and ceilings were infested with mold in two of the bathrooms. None of the showers had any water temperature control. One shower was so hot you couldn’t use it without scolding oneself, the other was cold to warm at best. The kitchen was in the basement which as soon as you entered from I the main stairway the musty smell of dampness and mold took you. Again, while cleaned daily, it lacked cleanliness due to a state perpetual neglect. Beyond a kettle and microwave, the kitchen lacked any amenities. Barr breakfast there were no cups and limited plates and utensils. Breakfast consisted of bread, instant coffee, and muesli. While we made due, it was lack luster after the third day. In short, not family friendly (we stayed with a 3 and 6 year old and it was hard). Not great for longer stays.

Clean room and staff allowed us to change room to ground floor family room with all our luggage. WiFi is only in kitchen and reception room but it has the most important thing, location, location, location. Breakfast is simple toast, cereal, coffee and milk which is just fine for the price. I had to lower the star rating to three for lack of cleaning in bathroom, someone vomited in sink the night before, notified reception at 7:30 but by 11:00am not cleaned.

Didn't even stay after seeing the state of the room. I get its cheap for London, but my god. The whole building stank of paint and the floor the ceiling window in the room was jammed open by the bed. The glass in the window was cracked and so was the wall. Wouldn't have paid £5 to stay there. Left immediately and stayed elsewhere.

Decent place. Good price, the people were nice. They say that you need 20 pounds in cash for depositum for keys, but they didnt actually. So dont take out 20 pounds in cash. They should update that. I payed for a room with a private bathroom wich i got. However it was a public hall between my private bathroom and my room. That was fine but I would appreciate that being more detaily explained on the website. The entrance of the hotel is quite shabby, but when you get to the stairs up it is good and the room was very good. The room dont got heating and you cant close the window properly so it can get a bit cold.

BED BUGS stay away from this hotel We had booked a hotel for our event near the Victoria and Albert Museum, just a 5-minute walk away. However, upon entering our room, we discovered that every single bed was infested with insects. When we complained to the receptionist, he didn't appear surprised, suggesting that he might have been aware of the issue. He offered to send us to another hotel located 20 minutes away by taxi, which was not ideal as we needed to be closer to our event. We checked with nearby hotels for availability, but unfortunately, there were no rooms available. The receptionist also informed us that a refund would take 3 days to be processed. Later, when he saw that we were looking for another place to stay, he refused to send us to the other hotel. After a heated argument with him, he finally agreed to send us to another hotel, the Blue Bells Hotel. Unfortunately, this hotel was also terrible, and one of the beds had bed bugs as well. As we couldn't find any other available room, we had to sleep together on a sofa bed. Both of these hotels were terrible, and we would not recommend them to anyone. We suggest that you stay away from these hotels if you don't want to get bed bugs.

😵‍💫 Sorry to say this, but we will never ever come back ! It was a last minute booking, but oh my. Truly dirty hotel with very disgusting carpets all over - and we were all more than w e l l bitten by bedbugs❗️ which we back home also found in our suitcases. The kitchen was in basement and rather unappetizing. We know it is a low budget place, but still. The positives: a very sweet kitchen/cleaninglady and the excellent location. Hotel, hostel or whatever, it could easily become fine, but they have some serious work to do.

Really nice hostel with nice prices and close to the center. By metro around 15 minutes and you can see all popular sightseeing like Big Ben etc. The service is kind. Rooms are clean and they contain hairdryer, tv, towels etc. I really recommend this.

Amazing location, 4 min walk from station, easy to get to from Heathrow airport, surrounded with nice restaurants. We got a room with a bathroom inside, rooms are tidy. Breakfast can be skipped, rather poor. Considering the low price of the room and amazing location I would defenitely recommend to stay here!

Really very basic. Bathroom was clean. Kitchen is very old and I don’t recommend using it on your own. Breakfast is very basic and when there are several guests, not large enough to seat them all. Walls and floors are super thin, which is not nice with loud neighbours

In 2014 we organized a trip to London with our Student Association. Hospitable people, beds were fine, showers were okay: it's simply perfect for students. Breakfast was not great to be honest. And if you're used to luxurious hotels, then this is not for you. It's just great for budget trips!

The location is great, however frankly that’s the only advantage of the place. There’s little to no water pressure in the upstair bathrooms, nor warm water. The breakfast consisted of toast, butter and jam.. everyday. Although, these weren’t the biggest issues as we got BEDBUGS! The staff claimed to clean and sterilize our rooms after our complaints, however they only changed the bedsheets. Several of us got bedbug bites during our stay. DO NOT RECOMMEND

It’s a nice place, the room was kind of cramped and the building could use a little love in general, but it’s as expected of that price range for a private room in near central London. Everything was as listed. Though the shared kitchen is lacking somewhat in utensils, so consider that if you plan on cooking your own meals. All in all, I’d stay again.

Stayed here for a week with my class. A lot better than expected. Friendly and helpful staff, ideal location (three museums, a supermarket, and an underground station within 5 minutes of walking distance). Owners evidently care about hygiene, immediately sterilizing all of our beds when one of my classmates developed a rash while sleeping. However, the rooms we stayed in were fairly cramped (3 bunk beds per room and a single fridge and TV set to share) and the infrastructure leaves things to be desired: there were plumbing issues, meaning there was no cold water on the ground floor, and there's no elevator, which made carrying the luggage of my classmates to the fourth floor that much more difficult. Overall, if you need affordable shelter for a large group of people who don't mind sharing fridges and bathrooms and who don't have a lot of luggage, this hostel should get the job done just fine.

Kind staff, but the place is old and dirty. The location is excellent. Better go to MEININGER hostel.

About the room: apparently clean, just the fact that it was in the basement wasn't very nice but it was ok. And also the toilet lid was broken. About the reception: very unpleasant. We arrived at 3pm, which was supposed to be check in time, because we were carrying super heavy backpacks, and they made us wait for 30 minutes with the excuse that the room was still being cleaned. About breakfast: food was ok, but the staff were very unpleasant, we arrived to have our coffee at 9 (the coffee was supposed to be served until 9:30) at 9:18 they started cleaning and staring at us to leave soon, it was very unpleasant, maybe next time just wait until 9:30 to start cleaning and removing the food.
