Lovely store and plenty of yummy food to try. Amazing selection of hot and cold foods and will definitely visit again. Love the ready to eat sashimi, great location and not too busy on a weekday.

For all the Japan lovers it's an awesome place!! There are plenty of choices for food and stuff. The food look and taste GREAT!! In the fresh section you can find sushi grab and go deal(main, snack and drink!) For 10£ or less and there are some tables to eat in. The restaurant look really clean and the staff is helpfull. The only negative note it's about the prices, very expensive for stuff that you can find somewhere else in the area.

A nice shop with Japanese groceries. They also sell some food to eat inside as well, like sushi or ramen. There is a very wide selection of Japanese alcohol as well - a lot of sake options, plum wine and so on - definitely best Japanese alcohol selection I have seen in London. Prices are not low

I literally never wanted to leave here oh my god, there is an insane variety of Japanese food and in most aspects the price is very sensible. Huge selection of sushi and sashimi and other Japanese food along with a whole bakery section for Japanese desserts.

I ordered 5 items and did not receive any of them. They substituted my whole order -with no communication- to food I do not eat. I was given a cress, avo, roe and salmon bowl with really old looking avocado which made me not want to eat it. I wish they had communicated to me that I would not be receiving any of the items I ordered so that I could have spent my money elsewhere. It's really sad because I have had good food here in the past but this time I feel ripped off.

Japan Centre - it used to be along green park area before moving towards Shaftesbury Avenue (upstairs shops) and now moved there where it’s basement. It has lots of Japanese selection groceries, fresh sushi and sashimis and also other hot food where you can purchase and eat in the shop. Lovely air conditioned shop perfect place to come on a hot day! It’s now extended it’s space to next store to accommodate more things to sell. I can imagine it will have more items for sale on the other side in the future.

Passable Japanese food. I did think the sukiyaki rice was decent though. Otherwise a good place to pick up some convenient yet slightly overpriced Japanese groceries. Ramen was so so not great. Could do with a bit more taste. Meals are ready quick.

IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE! This place is perfect for those who love Japanese food, there is such a big variety of authentic Japanese food, drinks, snacks, ingredients and other stuff. You can go there to shop for Japanese ingredients or you can go there for lunch and have a look at their big range of fresh bento boxes and sushi!

WARNING! Non vegan items labelled as vegan ( as seen in my pictures ), which may be obvious if you actually take the time to look at what you’re buying but it’s a real let down by the staff and a potential fatality waiting to happen. Prices seem a little high but it’s imported a lot so that makes sense, it has a nice lay out and some fun items otherwise. Sort out the worrying labelling and the stars will go up.

If you are nearby Japan centre , you could have a visit. You may spend 15 to 30 minutes, it isn’t a big supermarket but it does has some unique Japanese food. Good news for Sake Lover! There are different kind of sake, such as cold, hot and fruity. The price is over valued but it’s lovely having so many choices. Lots of Japanese seasoning and different kind of noodles, some unique seasoning you could find in here but you can buy most of them from Chinese and Korean market. And the price is acceptable but not attractive, You may find a better deal in other shop. I think the snack items do NOT have many choices, some of the snack are made in China🫣 I arrived JC at around 5:30pm, food court has 30% off of market price. I pick a box of salmon sushi £6.95 and a box of avocado salmon California roll£6.25. I would recommend you try avocado salmon California, the avocado is so creamy matching with fresh salmon, it’s tasty. For salmon sushi, I think wasabi does a better than JC, the sushi rice is so hard, and frozen as ice👎🏾maybe that is the reason they with discount.

The store is very nice and the sushi looks amazing. However I was very disappointed with the tempura. You'd expect it to be fried and crispy. But they just heat in the microwave and it was a soggy mess...

It’s really nice to have so many things in one place. There is vegan food here too! You can also eat inside, but the seating area isn’t that clean. 4* due the incredibly inflated prices. It felt a bit pricey , wouldn’t get my regular shopping here.

I’ve had positive experiences at the Japan centre and I must admit this Sushi is very good quality as is the Curry and the shop aspect is very nice, but I’ve had a very disappointing Tempura this time! I can’t be sure but to me it seems microwaved. Very soggy and doughy not at all crisp unfortunately. I do like Japan centre though and I will give it another chance inspire of a disappointing experience today.

Such a great place to visit in Central London! It’s a grocery store, hot food and sushi centre with a little corner of books, beauty, etc. The amount of fresh fish available makes it even better as there’s such a big variety. I would highly recommend as you will most likely end up buying something. We found a cute 1000 pieces puzzle which is now mine and my boyfriends hobby for the next few months.

The Japan Centre near Piccadilly Circus offers an excellent range of Japanese food and products. The food hall may be small but is very authentic, has a great atmosphere and very family friendly. The supermarket has all sorts of ramens and instant noodles so make sure you bring with you some large shopping bags.

An interesting shop to browse around. You can eat here or just buy food and a few gifts. If you know what you want, then it will be here, but otherwise, you can just take a chance on something unusual.

I was looking forward to try these mochi donuts 🍩 but it turned out to such a let down! They were very stale and tasted awful, the doughnuts seems like they have been left for several days to sell out. Not very fresh at all. There wasn’t any mochi chewy taste inside! Dry and stale doughnuts. Nothing like the ones in Japan “Mister Doughnut”

Very interesting place where you can find food you would not find elsewhere. We always go there for ice cream mochi. There could be a thicker rice dough in them but the ice cream filling is delicious, especially the passion fruit one.

I love this place! They have good selection of Japanese food, some fresh fish and meat too. I also think their sushi is my favourite ever! Also, if you’re a Little Moons fan, they have so many different flavours, and sell them individually!

Always visit when I go to London. Their deli is always filled with fresh Japanese bento boxes. Their order counter is great too. I would love it if they make the queueing system of the till improved.

Been grabbing dinner here whenever I'm within the area. I always go for the Spicy salmon and tuna poke, its chunks of fish with the ginger and soy dressing is very good. Under £8 too. Must try this. Discount for NHS staff.

Great supermarket/restaurant near picadlly circus, London 🇬🇧 The concept is nice, you eat in the middle of the mall where you get to chose either sushi’s or different japanese meal or ramen, the prices are student friendly. And you can buy/find any Japanese products in there.

There are many Japanese products here, from ingredients, snacks, table ware to books and magazines. Once you entered the shop, seems they bring you to Japan. You can enjoy Ramen and sashimi don rice in food court. The portion for ladies might be enough, but what I concerned is the temperature of the food. It's a pity that the seafood ramen is not hot enough.

We visited today the Japan Centre near Trafalgar square in London. It is a gem for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Japanese (or Asian) cuisine and culture. Here are the highlights: The Japan Centre boasts an impressive range of Asian foods and alcogolic and non-alcoholic drinks. Foods are fantastic! From fresh sushis to crispy rice and other snacks, kimchis, flavourful sake in every possible size and flavour, it's a paradise for Asian food enthusiasts. If you're in a hurry or craving a quick bite, their selection of ready-to-eat cold foods in small boxes, like sushi, you easily can find something. The centre also features a delightful mochi bar, where you can grab some freshly made mochi and some drinks with it. An other interesting thing is that they have a brown rice Miller machine. Beyond food, they even have a book section with nice books from JLPT5 to JLPT1, and also postcards and a few other nice paper things. Also they even have a handbook about sake. Also there is a kitchen area with tables, making it a perfect place to dine in. Overall, the Japan Centre is a culinary heaven, a must to visit place for every Asia fans.

I wouldn’t say it’s the best ramen shop I’ve had since the ramen and udon we brought was super plane and just didn’t seem to be hyped neither its price. The environment was super nice and aesthetically pleasing and had calm music playing in the background. Customer service was decent although there seems to be not a single Asian person working in there meaning it was all white men being forced to say Japanese word without its correct phrase. Everything was super clean food was quick. Just the taste is what let it down honestly.

First time at this Japan Center location, between Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus stations. It was wonderful! I came before 11am on a Monday and looked around the store until they were serving food, in which I ordered the authentic Japanese curry and hot green tea. The canteen area is welcoming; wooden; could charge my phone and listen to the Japanese songs playing in the store. The fresh sushi looked amazing but this time I was already too full and happy :) :)

Happy hour available. We stopped here for a quick dinner before a theatre show and this was a lovely spot. Service was good and the restaurant was very unique. I loved the decor and it definitely did make you feel like you were in Japan! Delicious options on menu too!

Fully stocked shop for all your Japanese grocery needs! There is even a place for you to sit down and eat from the hot food offerings available. This is my go-to whenever I need to stock up on Japanese cooking ingredients. Fresh seafood and meat are also available!

Came to the Japan Centre on Panton St for a lunch date with a family friend and wasn't disappointed. The centre is easy to find, take the street opposite Bubba Gump and go past the Prince Of Wales Theatre on Oxendon St and the Japan Centre is on the corner on the first left opposite the Odeon cinema. Upon entry is a small Mochi/Bubble Tea cafe, if you walk through then take the stairs down, it leads you to the canteen restaurant and shop which is quite compact. I had the Beef Sukiyaki Donburi which was delicious. The beef really melted in the mouth, it comes with rice, spring onion and picked ginger which is designed to refresh the palate. My friend had the Prawn Tempura Donburi which also comes with rice and selected vegetables. I wanted to try the Prawn Gyozas but they didn't have any in stock so I had the Pork Gyoza dumplings, I did ask them to heat them up but they were lukewarm like they had just been microwaved. It would have been nice if they were made to order freshly but they still tasted nice. Lots of interesting food/home products to look at but prices are on the expensive side, bare in mind a lot of these products are imported. They also sell a range of food bowls/drinks to take away as well as delicacy meats/sweets/snacks etc. Quite an interesting place to look around and many unusual flavours.

Very authentic store! My partner is japanese and was very excited to buy produce that he hasn't been able to eat since he was back at home in japan🥰 the indoor restaurant was also really worth the money and the food was delicious 😋

Great selection of food. Prices are high, but everything is imported and central location is not cheap.

A very cute Japanese restaurant specialized in ramen noodles. Affordable menu. I went with the specialized menu of £24 that had a meal, a drink and desert. The desert and beer was amazing. The main dish was decent for a first time taster of asian food. Overall a good experience

Great food, convenient central location. Some things in there pricy, but they have been imported from Japan/ abroad.

Really good enough selection of Japanese products, and the 50% off on meals, baked goods and sushi are worth it.

Cool place to buy Japanese products and have some food like ramen or sushi. But you can get better quality food for less price in Eat Tokyo! Just be prepared that the place is a little bit overpriced for what it is

Great Japanese super market with lots of food option. Honestly the hot food I got (sukiyaki bowl) was terrible but other food looked great. It’s good spot to stop by for quick shopping for sure.

Satisfying quick feed! Plenty of vegan options and good service. Lots of grab and go options. Hot tip: if you come within the hour or two before they close, they have 30% off ready made meals. Just nabbed some delicious tempura on a Sunday evening. A bit average for the price, but if you’re looking for something like this in the area then give it a go!

Small place. Don't come here before 12 o'clock because the food is not really. I expected to buy fresh Takoyaki but they sell only in the fridge, so my Takoyaki was cold, small and bad taste. I disappointed.

Easy walking distance to get to from trafalgar Square. Inside Japan centre so much choice from fresh vegetables, Sake, ramen, mochi made in store. The mochi icecream was so tasty 😋a must when in London

  • 4/5 J A. 1 year ago on Google
Long time no visit here. The moved location :) looks modern decoration and more choice of foods. We tried hot food as ramen, tasty and price was reasonable. And they have wagyu and sashimi section. Lots of choice of sushi 🍣 we will try next time for other foods. Staff are generally friendly and students can get 10% which is good option😇😇

  • 3/5 Jinny S. 1 year ago on Google
Food is okay but not great. They just reheat your food in the microwave. Prices are a bit expensive for the quality of food that they serve. The prices of grocery products are higher compared to other asian/Japanese groceries. The only thing I liked was the 10% discount they give to NHS employees.

  • 4/5 Jamie E. 1 year ago on Google
I will return, the food was outstanding and great value for money. The restaurant really has a great authentic feel. You really get a feel for the izakaya atmosphere. But one thing that needs to be addressed is the poor service, 4 people on the floor in a place that was less than 50% full and the service was very bad. Repeatedly I had to ask where was my drink? This was over 30 mins and it took me to prompt them to get the drink. Hopefully this will be addressed when I visit in future. I still recommend this place and would give it 5 if the service was better.
