Very delicious and flavorful. The lamb chops were very tender and spiced will. Mantu was very tasty(big portion). Aubergine stew was very delicious as well. All these three dishes are a must to try. Free tasty spicy sauce and salad are served before the food. Nice owner. Medium prices. Will definitely come back again.

We went last night for our first visit. We were hovering at the door and met some people on the way out, who gave it a massive thumbs up. We now know why. We were welcomed and given some food suggestions. It all tasted amazing. We will be back. 10/10 for food and service. I can't believe we hadn't tried it sooner.

For authentic, absolutely delicious afghan food, definitely come here! We tried a selection of traditional dishes and thought they were fantastic and full of flavour! The portions are huge, really good value and the owners are so lovely and friendly! We will be coming back here again. (Make sure you order the Mantu - heavenly homemade dumplings!)

Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! Been here a few times and every time, was left feeling so satisfied with a full stomach. MashAllah, such succulent, tasty meat. Excellent quality! We got the chicken Shish with chips, kobeda with qabuli rice and chapli kabab with naan and everything was just cooked to perfection! So tender! One of the best I’ve tasted. The service was also impeccable MashAllah! The uncle is so sweet and generous and quick service. We came pretty late near closing time and he was so accommodating. They also had a cooler which is great in these hot months! Price is also extremely reasonable. Love it!

AUTHENTIC!! really delicious and proper afghani cuisine tucked away in a little corner of Leytonstone. I had the Qabli Pulao (rice dish with lamb shank) Mantu (dumplings with mince meat and lentil Yoghurt base) Chapli Kebab. Akbar the chef and owner was very kind and welcoming. The pot of tea after the meal was the proverbial icing on the cake. Overall good quality food with good portion size. Will come again. Highly recommended.

Best Afghan food I’ve had! The qabily pilau was a standout. The chapli kebab and chicken karahi were all very tasty . Portions were extremely generous too and the owner is very friendly. Will definitely come back again!

We ordered a Qabuli Pilau, a small aubergine stew and drink and those were surprisingly more than enough for two. The food was amazing, big portions, customer service 10 out of 10, and the price was very very nice. A hidden gem in London!

We ordered the qabuli pilau which is a rice dish with sultanas and carrots (see photo). This was plenty for 2 people and cost £18 altogether. The food was extremely tasty, especially the green chutney and it was also filling. The service was great, super quick and very friendly and chatty and the owner made sure that we were well looked after and ordered the right amount.

What a beautiful local business! I had no experience with Afghan good, and this is enough to make me want to take a holiday there. The Mantou dumplings (which we call ‘Afghan ravioli’) are gorgeous, as is the special pilau rice with lamb and the aubergine - plus just friendly owner who is super keen to know that you are happy with the food. Will be back really soon! A nearby pop-up restaurant had run out of their food and we instantly went round to Red camel - pardon the bad photo with flash!

A memorable meal, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The lamb kebab, bread, green chutney, qabily pallow, mantu, and tea were all delicious.

Second visit here and was still blown away by the food and hospitality! Had the mixed grill which was juicy and full of flavour, accompanied with the incredibly tasty Qabily pilau rice. What a treat - already looking forward to the next visit.

Beautiful little place based in Leytonstone. Really enjoyed the authentic pilao and the kebab was just delicious. Portion sizes are amazing. Me and my husband shared one plate and took the rest home. Deffo check this place out and enjoy the Afghan tea 😋

Traveled from Cambridge to give this place a go and it didn't disappoint! The food was amazing and reminded me of back home. The kabuli palao was so good, we demolished it. The lamb karahi had succulent lamb that fell off the bone. Definitely recommend it to anyone after some delicious Afghani food!

Minimalist menu but everything is high quality and taste just amazing. The qabily pallow and lamb chops are to die for. The owner is very friendly and will help you decide on menu choices. Will return for sure.

Amazing food and such an wonderful host who suggests what to have. Ordered the lamb kabli pilau and the lamb fell from the bone and the aubergine curry. Enough for two meals and would definitely go back!

Good fresh food and friendly staff . For example Its hard to find good lamb chops around this part of town nowdays but the lamb chops here were top quality . No gristle , perfectly cooked , juicy and flavoursome . I think the rice on the mixed platter should’ve been accompanied with a better variety of chutneys or a small curry as there was a lot of rice but it didn’t really match the rest of the platter . Chapli kebabs are absolute units as a Chapli kebab should be . Will be looking forward to try the more traditional items on the menu in the future . I may try a delivery in the future but I think this is the type of food that should be eaten when it’s served fresh

Wonderful food. We had the mantu dumplings that were phenomenal. The quabuli pulow was so well cooked with the grains of rice so fluffy and so tasty. Cannot wait to go again! The restaurant is small so if you live nearby maybe get takeaway …we chose to sit in and it was a pleasant experience.

The food here is amazing. One of Leytonstone's secrets. Come here for the tea alone! Portions generous, prices reasonable, staff welcoming.

I visited Red Camel for the first time for dinner yesterday evening after hearing good things, and was not disappointed. The qabli pulau and aubergine stew were fantastic, served with salad and spicy sauce. I'd highly recommend this place for really authentic Afghan cuisine. Dine in if you can to enjoy the food fresh and chat to the very friendly owner!
