This is the Palace of the "Young Royals" one of many Royal residence throughout the UK. It was a short walk about 5-6 minutes from the Hilton at Hyde Park where we spent almost a week. Also a memorial garden to Princess Diana. We spent about two hours touring at a leisure pace. They had an exhibit "Life Through a Royal Lens" which had a fascinating collection of photos of the royal family many candid and family shots. It was about $25pp for entry. We had a tight schedule, we had a reservation to do "High tea at the Palace" it starts at 34£ pp. Advance reservations recommended.

What a lovely place! I visited Kensington Palace just before Valentine 2022 with my boyfriend. The place is very warm and cozy, we visited all the rooms that are opened for public. The King’s gallery is absolutely stunning with finest paintings of the Royal Collection. The King’s Staircase is so marvellous. Don’t forget to visit Jewel room where they display Queen Victoria’s magnificent diamond and emerald tiara, Kensington Palace Gardens, Kensington Garden where you can see so many swans and duck in such a peaceful and joyful view. Reading about the love of Victoria and Albert in Kensington Palace also an unexpected fulfilment for our Valentine date 💗

Great place to visit especially if you are a historic fan. The Palace has lots of stuff to make our eyes explore the royal life. Great surroundings.. there is a small pond with lots of swans and birds. Children will have fun time. This is located near a very big park and great for families and friends weekend gatherings.

This was an interesting place. A bit pricey, but enjoyable. It was cool to see the life of Queen Victoria growing up, even though I'm not a big fan of her.

I visited with a friend in September for the Crown to Couture exhibit. We had timed entry, but it was very busy and a bit chaotic getting in. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The exhibit was excellent and well worth the money. It was busy and there was lots of crowds, but it wasn't too much of a problem. The cafe and gardens were very nice and there was a nice outdoor area next to the cafe and we enjoyed a pims in the sunshine.

Buy tickets online ahead of time for a scheduled hour! It was a nice visit and not too crowded due to the timed slot setup. We went at 12pm and it seemed like a perfect time. It was beautiful outside, many people running and relaxing in the park, sunny with tons of birds. Absolutely beautiful.

I was truly excited to visit the Kensington palace and booked in advance. I definitely recommend booking in the morning as it’s easy and quick to enter and no long lines. Staff were extremely friendly. It wasn’t crowded for the 10:30am slot so i was able to enjoy lots of it while it was a bit empty. However, for $31 I expected more about the history of the palace and Princess Diana and so on. The couture was gorgeous and I was able to see dresses that were worn by Met gala guests which was incredible. However, it’s not something that I would add to my list if your only in London for a short amount of time.

Fabulous. We went to see the exhibition of court to couture, but wow beautiful the staff were brilliant so knowledgeable and friendly taking time to talk to everyone. The displays were wonderful, although there was none from Lady Diana which seemed strange considering how she was a strong advocate for British fashion designers. The building is well signposted and the toilets are very clean and easy access.

Lovely to see Princess Diana's wedding dress. The guides were so knowledgeable. Very interesting story about the moment Queen Victoria knew she was Queen of England. The guides made it come alive

While this palace may be somewhat smaller than others, it certainly does not lack in historical significance or charm. Now serving as a museum, it provides fascinating insights into various aspects of history and culture. During my visit, there was a captivating exhibition on fashion, illustrating the evolution and impact of style through the ages. Additionally, the palace hosts a second museum dedicated to the childhood of Britain's royal children. It was particularly enlightening to delve into Queen Victoria's early life, providing a rare glimpse into the formative years of this iconic monarch. What left an indelible impression was the charming small theatre, a testament to the palace's rich cultural history. This feature is an absolute must-see. Please note that entry to the palace requires a ticket. It's also worth mentioning that if you arrive later than the scheduled time, there might be a lengthy wait. However, the wealth of history and beauty housed within its walls makes the wait worthwhile. This palace is more than a destination; it's a journey into the past.

Great architecture and amazing interiors. The sunken gardens design is worth the visit; as they have Princess Diana sculpture, beautiful flowers and cradle walk with a view all around. The huge pond is a good place to relax and enjoy a evening walk. Lovely place to visit.

Kensington palace was a nice place to spend a few hours. This has probably the least amount of viewable rooms out of Hampton court and Tower of London. The queens and kings rooms were both interesting to see, but quick. The Victoria section upstairs was the highlight, as you can interact with a lot of the exhibits and see how she would have lived and the rules she had imposed on her. The free audio guide had some nice information and was easy to use. Worth a visit but not the best of the palaces.

What can you say but spectacular! Gorgeous views, beautiful building, fantastic venue and overall excellent place to visit and take in to a true royal palace. This is our second visit and it gets better each time. Super be easy to get to, fantastic park to make it a whole family day out and with all the outstanding Kensington high Street a few minutes walk plenty of places to stop, shop or get something to eat or drink.

As its based in Hyde Park it made a great day. Sun out perfect. Kensington Palace itself is as you would expect, very regal ,superb architecture. There is an exhibition in there at the moment which is fine but for me it took away the interest of the actual building and history of the Palace. But all in all its a lovely place.

I went mental over the luxurious details, the rooms, the decorations, the classical objects and the history. Ask for the "modern tech" ( wind map for planning sailing of ships) and weather forecasting system, they are over 200 hundred years and amazingly accurate to this days.

Very nice place to visit with the family. You'll spend about an hour walking through the palace and then probably another hour at the gardens. I wish there was more historical information about the palace during the tour but it mostly highlights newer fashion. The tour is self paced. When queuing, there are umbrellas to use while in the sun. The gardens are beautiful and a huge pond. Lots of people walking around.

Took a tour of inside. Worth it! Make sure you ask the workers in each area for some interesting facts about the specific room/area! I garnered so many tidbits not specifically stated in brochures or online. Book your tickets in advance and allow time to soak in the history and feelings that surround this magnificent building and grounds.

I had very little knowledge of what this was but loved the entire experience. Audio device gave engaging information. Staff was helpful and willing to answer questions. And the entire castle is just beautiful and so outside what the average person has seen. The surrounding town is nice too. You can NOT take pics IN the castle.

The palace is beautiful from the outside, we didn't get inside due to full capacity. However, the surrounding gardens deserve more care even in the winter months. It's lost its charm

I didn't mean to spend so much time here, but if you study the room guides; you get all the stories. There's vast details about Queen Victoria, and the life she shared. From childhood doll's house and theatre, to her courtship, marriage and reign. Up forty-five steps to the Kings study, takes you to a different era. Artwork, sculptures, travelling beds, with Victoria's crown, made smaller (because of her frame); and the jewels returned to the Tower of London.

All I can say is wow!! What a beautiful, stunning, gorgeous building! This was the first time I've visited. The inside is completely incredible, I was blown away with the details of the painting on the walls/ceilings, and the decorating. There's two sides inside of the Palace, Queens side and the Kings side, and both are beautiful, very high ceilings, tickets are £20 each, recommend you do it online and print them out, bag searches before entering, it isn't the best place to manoeuvre around but there is a lift! Cafe and shop at the very bottom of the building! Super clean and tidy! 5*👍

Absolutely loved my time here. As I love history this was absolutely amazing. The staff when asked questions were more than happy to answer on several occasions they amassed a bit of a crowd when talking about various rooms or items in the collections. With various sound clips hidden throughout and interactive elements the atmosphere that was created throughout the palace was just a wonderful experience. I bought a ticket at the door which was no issue what so ever. After buying the ticket I walked straight in. Even if you prebook you will still have to queue, in a separate queue, whilst you wait for your allotted time to be let in for bag checks, which you shouldn’t arrive more than twenty minutes before hand.

Kensington Palace, an iconic landmark nestled amidst the lush grounds of Kensington Gardens, is a captivating testament to London's royal heritage. With a history spanning over four centuries, this magnificent palace has been the residence of numerous British monarchs and is now the official home of several members of the royal family. As you approach Kensington Palace, you are greeted by its grand Georgian facade, exuding timeless elegance and regal charm. The palace's architecture showcases a seamless blend of various styles, reflecting the different eras it has witnessed, from the Tudor period to the present day. Beyond its majestic exterior lies a treasure trove of history and culture. Visitors can explore opulent state apartments, including the King's State Apartments, adorned with intricate tapestries and royal portraits, offering a glimpse into the lives of past monarchs. Kensington Palace also serves as a poignant memorial to Princess Diana, with the moving Diana: Her Fashion Story exhibition, and more.

Well kept and if you are a historical buff you will not be disappointed. The one thing we noticed was very little on display to acknowledge that Princess Di actually lived on the premises! Would have loved to see more exhibits relating to all the royals who have called it home. Situated in lovely grounds with a lake you can sit and relax enjoy the gardens with a picnic.

Great Palace with helpful and friendly staff. The staff love chatting to you about the history there, and they make the experience much more than just a walk around. Maps and audio guides are available with a paid ticket. No wait to get in with a pre-paid ticket. Tickets are available on site also, but it is better to book in advance to skip any queues for tickets.

Kensington Palace has been the residence of the royal family since the seventeenth century. Charles and Diana lived there. It is now the home of Prince William and Princess Kate. A yew fence has been planted around the property, which allows for a bit more privacy. When my wife and I were here in 2000, we were able to see the gardens and pond up close and it was a wonderful experience. Now there is much less to see and visit.

Lovely place to visit & learn about the history of this royal house, including the childhood of Queen Victoria. Plenty of knowledgeable staff available. Had to book tickets & time slot online, no entry available without tickets. Photography allowed but no flash or videos. Shop, refreshments and restrooms available.

A lovely palace in 2 halves. One side had artefacts on show and the other seemed to have most of the original features of the rooms, such as the wallpaper, furniture, paintings and flooring. There were some really interesting things like Queen Victoria's actual hair and being able to be in the room where she was born. But overall there wasn't a lot you were allowed to see in the palace and it only took an hour and a half to see the whole thing and that's because we stopped to read everything, I think you could do the tour faster. It would've been great to see a more modern aspect to the palace, such as where Princess Diana lived.

Such an amazing piece of architecture. There's plenty to look at, walk around with very knowledgeable staff. The history attached to this building is fascinating. You can use the headsets, but as we had young children wanted to take our own time.

The reason to visit the Palace is for the history. The fashion show exhibit really detracted from the visit. If not for a very helpful guide it would have been a poor experience. Do make sure to check out the red guide books. They do help to explain much of the historic artifacts in absence of an appropriate tour. Would NOT recommend a trip until the fashion show is closed. Lunch at the Cafe is quite reasonable.

We visited for the Court to Couture exhibition which was amazing! The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The palace itself is beautiful and the walk through Hyde Park was really lovely in the sun. This was such a lovely way to spend some time with friends and i'd happily recommend anyone take the time to go when they're visiting London.

Honestly the Inside was pretty boring and not really worth the ticket price, unless you are obsessed with the royal family-which we are not lol. It’s just way more modern than the cool, older history and Tower of London. The grounds were stunning and the park it was located in was gorgeous and fun to walk through. Get the London city pass and it’s included which makes it a better deal.

I went to Kensington palace for the Crown to Couture exhibit. They did an exquisite job setting up the modern Met Gala pieces mixed in with the historical garments while explaining the tradition compared to the modern era. The palace inside is exquisite so I'm certain no matter what exhibit they have on it's worth going!

Lovely day out- lots to see + do- queues managed well+ plenty of hand sanitizer about, only gripe was when tickets booked online they had a problem with the site so told us to bring E.- mail confirmation. We queued up, then someone came along to check tickets + time- nothing said- then when we got to the front- we were sent to the booking office so having to queue again to have tickets printed out! Having said that we had a lovely day, Diana's Wedding dress was beautiful-had a lovely cream tea- (no cash only card in tea room) just to warn people as well. It's a lovely day out + good value- gardens + statue were beautiful also .

We went there for my birthday so special for me. It's beautiful. So much to see and do. We bought our tickets at the door. There is a lovely just by the door. Yummy. We had an amazing experience.

You currently need a timed ticket to enter (even if you are a member of Historic Royal Palaces), so it is easiest to prebook. There are still queues to enter as the security bag checks take time because they clean the tray after each bag. It feels relatively covid safe as visitors need to wear masks insure, there are lots of sanitiser dispensers, and the timed tickets help control numbers. This is the palace where Queen Victoria was born (there is a plaque on the wall of the room), grew up and was awoken in the middle of the night to be told she was Queen. It is also where Princess Diana lived and where the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge live with their children (in a private area of the palace). It is very nice although some areas were closed off for renovations - no discount on the entry price.

I visited the Palace few years ago... today I visited for a coffee and a walk through the gardens... the addition of the statue gives gardens more beauty and value. Lovelly arcade with windows like spaces allows curiosity of the visitors to admire the flowers surrounding the pool and in the front the statue fitted like a crown.

  • 3/5 Dame 2 years ago on Google
A beautiful building and well managed Covid precautions but the exhibits are sparse. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly but overall the visit was disappointing. Went to see Royal Style in The Making and there just wasn't enough to see. There should have been more dresses on show and information about the designers and processes. That said it was a fantastic opportunity to see Diana's wedding dress up close.

The rooms were very empty and dinghy!! Not much to.look at at all. The exhibition of Diana's dress was disappointing in a way as I thought there would be more of her clothes and the bridesmaids dresses etc. A lit of money to get in . I sepnt longer in the Palace Gardens than I did the house and enjoyed that far more when I visited couple of years ago. There was nothing inside the Palace that I wanted to photograph and that's very unusual for me!! I only took pictures of Diana's dress. In and out in about 45 mins!!

Check the fashion exhibition here on a weekend day, not very busy, the exhibition content & permanently collections are pretty interesting, especially the restoration pf Queen Victoria’s childhood life. The only thing bothered me was their routine design, i can see they put lots of effort to ensure visitors going to right place. It is definitely better to get tickets in advance especially for weekends.

Beautiful but expensive place to visit. Unfortunately opening hours aren't very reachable at least during spring time, so we couldn't go inside the gates to admire the garden nor could we go inside the residence. Instead we enjoyed wandering in the park which was very amusing and interesting - beautiful surroundings!

I visited early afternoon on a sunny Sunday in May. Before entering Kensington Palace, I walked through parts of the grounds including the Princess Diana Memorial Garden. Indoors, the rooms and exhibits were very interesting. I especially liked learning about Queen Victoria’s life here at Kensington Palace. I also enjoyed the special photography exhibit “Life Through a Royal Lens”. I was lucky that the Palace was not crowded and I could enjoy the exhibits at my leisure.

Having passed this building for so many years it was a joy to finally take a look inside. An interesting exploration of the history of the Monarchy and to witness the rooms that so many have actually been born in, played in and lived in was fantastic. The Memorial Garden outside is very picturesque too. We used our Art Fund passes and were pleasantly surprised it gave us free entry to the entire building. What an extra joy 😀

Absolutely loved going here! I wasn't so sure about doing Kensington during my trip to London but agreed as my friends wanted to go but it truly felt like taking a step into history. Beautiful palace with lovely gardens, definitely visit if you're a fan of Queen Victoria! I was slightly disappointed in the Royal Style in the Making exhibition at the end of the tour as I expected more than 3 dresses to be there, however, seeing Princess Diana's dress took my breath away.

A great place for British history buffs. Architecture and interior designing were amazing in keeping with Royalty tradition. The brief live presentation free with the tour gave extra rich history not noted in the Palace's signage. Food was available on site, a nice convenience.

The Couture exhibition was really good 💯 There were a variety of original old and new pieces to inspect. The timed tickets allowed space to view. The palace itself is lovely and the grounds were in their glory this summer 🌞 We had tea and cake in the garden and it was wonderful although my vegan cake was very dry and disappointing. The service was impeccable. The gift shop was really beautiful with great choices for a variety of budgets. I think the quality of the items on sale were in-keeping with the proud heritage of the palace. A really great day out.
