Great little zoo to see a range of small animals and farm animals. Best time to go on the weekend is mid morning to early afternoon. They have toilets and a cafe that sells sandwiches, ice creams, drinks and small snacks. If you have small children with you or babies, I suggest bringing food as they may not have healthy food suitable for young children and babies. The electric remote boats do not work so do not waste your coins. The electric water gun is fab. The playground, fire engine, helicopter and sandpit is fab. We saw lots of little animals monkeys, wild cats, armadillo, meerkats, bunnies, ducks etc. They also have a great range of farm animals and a reptile house with snakes, spiders etc. Closest entrance is Chelsea Bridge Gate.

Excellent place to spend a day at. Perfect for smaller kids and toddlers as there are plenty of various toys and a large sandpit too. It's located in the middle of Battersea Park so the best way to get here is by walk or bicycle. The tickets are cheap, however, they charge admission for children over 2 y.o. The whole area of the park/zoo is not too big so it's easily walkable and can be discovered within about 2 hours, but the abundance of games and toys can secure more hours of fun here for families with young kids. Therefore, we can recommend this place.

A lovely small zoo. Great for kids, and not too pricey. Sat in the middle of beautiful Battersea park, opposite the thames river. There always seemed to be feeding times and talks so there was always something to watch. The eating areas are pretty small but considering its a small zoo it’s expected, but there is enough space so not to worry. You can touch some of the animals, like the ponies and donkeys, but you cannot feed them your food. I had such a lovely time here, it was most amusing looking at the otters!

What a lovely little zoo! Fab selection of animals and they all look very well looked after. It’s a great size with kids, lots of places to sit, good places to play. The signage is well laid out and they are currently operating a one way system due to covid. Didn’t get a chance to try out the little cafes or ice cream shops as it was quite a flying visit. Looking forward to visiting again

Fantastic day out with the kids. Great for sparking an interest in smaller animals. The kids loved the ring tailed lemurs, meerkats, donkeys, guinea pigs, frogs and crested cranes! There's loads of safe climbing frames and a wooden castle with slides and some interactive digging machines. Thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Great family day out, small zoo but lots for kids to do. Ideal for autism/SEN families due to it not being too large. Nice variety of small animals. Really good play area too.

A great place to visit with kids or without 😊 There are a lot to explore and many different playgrounds for the kids. Little cafe with hot/cold drinks, sandwiches and ice cream and lots of sitting area. There are morning and afternoon feedings + talk from the keepers sharing interesting facts about the animals 🐵🐭🦎🦦🦔🦉 There is a Keeper Experience if you want to get closer with the animals. Check out their website for more info. Or you can adopt an animal or get some bits for the animals if you want to support the ZOO - check out their Amazon Wishlist ❤️

I am bias with zoos so definitely bare that in mind! The zoo was very small, which was quite sad to see as the park itself is massive and I would have thought the zoo would be bigger. I dunno really what I expected, if it is realistic or not but I thought maybe those at the animals would interact and talk about them. But I feel that isn't reality. The reptile house was infact not a house, more like a walk way with very small enclosures for the reptiles/amphibians either side of you. We did visit on a very hot day so I understand not many animals were there, which is totally fine. It had play apparatuses all through, which is wonderful for the kids. All in all really I'd say not great, very sad even. However for young little ones it is exiting. I liked how there were seating picnic areas too, so it wasn't like you had to trek with hungry children until you got somewhere and could just fuel them up and carry on. So getting the tickets were great, you get a month to use them and don't have to book in advance a slot so no rush whilst getting into London on a time frame. We had no issues getting in even with a disability and carer tickets, I had the docs ready but weren't needed. The staff you could see were working very hard and in such high temperatures.

5 stars - not the London Zoo - but for the price is a fantastic zoo for children. Several play areas, about 20 animal enclosures. Kids can play with diggers, be a sand pit, climb in a helicopter and some boats. Animals include otters, goats, an emu, donkeys, lemurs, monkeys, a coati, wallaby, Pallas cat, amphibians, an armadillo, and more. The zoo takes a little less than 90 minutes to see it all with small kids - - unless they spend a lot of time the the play areas.

Small zoo but very convenient and located inside beautiful battersea park. The kids had so much fun watching animals, there was also Easter trail so looking for the hidden bunnies inside. We spent a good couple of hours there. There is a picnic area and toilets.

Lovely little zoo with a great range of animals, they have little play sections for the kids. A cafe which is very reasonably priced £16 and we got 2 sandwiches, crisps, pretzels, can of drink, ribena and a children’s sandwich. They also do feeding time talks and birthday parties too! Much cheaper than another nearby zoo, great for the bank balance and will keep kids and adults both entertained for a few hours!

Nice little zoo in the middle of London. Great place to spend a morning or afternoon with the kids. Nice enclosures with animals that all look well looked after, healthy and have enough living space. Also a big playground with swings, sandbox etc. And they sell coffee and ice cream, what else do you need!

Such a lovely little local zoo. A good selection of donkeys, sheep, pigs, birds, small monkeys, amphibians, bunnies, rats, goats, mice, meerkats and otters. Also has an awesome amount of play equipment that you could spend longer on than seeing the animals - a big castle climbing frame, fire engine, helicopter, sand diggers, a huge sand and water pit. Nice picnic area where you can relax and eat whilst watching them play. My only feedback would be that the sand pit smelt quite strongly of urine when we visited which was a bit off-putting, and some of the keepers arent the friendliest (although the animals are clearly well cared for and that's what matters). There's a few small ride ons including a little vehicle carousel so bring some pound coins. A little cafe with basic hot drinks/ice creams etc and a good amount of cleanish toilets. I'd bring your own picnic as much cheaper/quicker than the que. I also wish that the owl had a bigger enclosure though, it always looks so sad :( Their gift shop would do better with a slightly more varied content for the little ones. The surrounding Battersea Park and riverside walk is beautiful and there's more than enough to do for a whole day out.

A great zoo for a great price. One of my favorite zoos I've been too. Definitely worth it even if you only have an hour. We loved it.

Main reason.. The Zoo was the main reason we visited Battersea Park and the little one loved it. The location wasn't bad, about 15-20 minutes walk from where we entered the park. The entry price was alright for the adults, same really for kids, nothing crazy. There were many creatures to see, so you are not going to bored anytime. If you wanted to get some refreshments, there's a cafe for a quick pit stop plus seating outside with a little carousel to keep the little ones busy for a short amount of time. After all that, there's a gift shop just before you leave with some good goodies on sale. A must..

Such a cute little zoo and it's lovely walking round seeing all the animals, not packed with animals but well enough for the little kiddies. My daughter whose 4 loves the monkeys, especially the capuchins who are so cheeky and adorable. A small selection of the characters you meet round the zoo in the pictures 🦘🦔🐒🐖🐰

Very fun! Just the right size for small children as all the animals are close enough to see more than once. Lots of playgrounds! Bring a change of clothes if you want them to play in the water/sand area. Many picnic tables for a packed lunch. There is a small café as well with ice cream, tea, coffee, sandwiches etc. A great day out!

My kids were able to go for free with their WAND cards. They had a great time on the playground and occasionally looked at an animal. We got there late in the day so the animal feedings were all over but we will definitely be back. There is an old fire engine and old helicopter that the kids can go in. A chalkboard room. Some pirate ships that you can steer around a little lake for £1. A large sandpit and lots of playground equipment.

Relatively small zoo for the ticket price. Felt more like a farm rather than a zoo. A nice place to visit if you have a hour or so spare but if you want to visit specifically to see a range of animals, insects and wildlife then there are others with a larger variety of things to see like ZSL. Wasn’t too busy once inside and is set within the lovely Battersea Park and walking distance to Battersea Power Station.

What a lovely little zoo , an different kind of zoo with rarer animals. On the day we went not all the animals where out. But there was enough for the children to see. There is plenty of places to have a break or too have lunch. planned well placed recreation areas dotted all around.

Highly recommended, especially for younger children. Went with my partner and 17 month old and had so much fun. Lots of play areas, chalk drawing area, rides, toy boat lake, sandpit, swings, slides, ice cream, some education for older children. We saw otters and lemurs being fed. I’m very happy and there are lots of animals and not just sheep and rabbits: monkeys, parrots, lizards, emus, wallabies, scorpions, even 8 baby piglets. We’ll be back in the summer for sure.

We love this zoo and have been coming here for years now. The zookeepers talks are very informative and there is a lovely selection of small animals such as coatis, otters, lemurs and the ever popular meerkats. Nothing bigger than a donkey here! I do miss the capybaras though…

Social distancing in place. We did the zoo in about an hour and a half as my toddler liked to look at animals more than others. She loved the playground areas. Doing our bit to support our zoos.

I love going to the zoo in each city and Milwaukee has a nice one! I'm from St. Louis and ours is pretty similar when it comes to the animals, but what makes St. Louis infinitely better is that it is free! I definitely loved how close you could get to the leopard when he sits in the window at the Milwaukee zoo though.

The MKE Zoo is an awesome place to visit any time of the year. All of the facilities and exhibits are well taken care of. Although some exhibits could use some freshening up and modernization, the zoo is definitely upgrading and creating a better experience for the visitors and the animals themselves as they get better homes in which to live. I highly recommend this zoo to anyone in the area or visiting from out of town. This is a great place to learn and be immersed in the wonderful world of animals. Tickets and parking may be expensive but it goes towards a great cause of conservation and habitat rebuilding. The Elephants, Hippos, Otters, and a few others have all received new homes to live in within the past few years and the zoo is definitely making a change for the better.

Battersea Zoo for kids is absolutely fantastic. The selection of animals is great, especially all the different monkeys, pigs, and otters. It's really well looked after and maintained, you can really tell the staff care about it. In fact, when we took our daughter recently one of the zoologists - lovely guy called James - gave us an impromptu chat with loads of insight into the zoo and all the different species. Would heartily recommend as a great place to take kids and spend a morning or afternoon. Top tip: the mini golf pizza place in Battersea Park does delicious pizza, work up a hunger at the zoo and then "mangare"! 😋😋😋

Even after countless field trips as a kid and now chaperoning for my kids the zoo still has so much to discover! There have been new habitats built and even the older ones. It's still exciting when the tigers come out to play! Come prepaid for the weather and plan on having a good time. If it's spring-early fall don't forget your bug repellent. The kids will be worn out and ready for a nap as soon as you get back to the car 😂

We went to visit this Zoo during the summer of 2019. Our kids loved the train ride and the ski lift type ride around the park(although it terrified me because the equipment seemed a little old and i'm a plus size gal ). I would definitely recommend this Zoo. It was definitely a zoo you could get through in one day and the prices were reasonable. We got a discount from the downtown Milwaukee hotel where we stayed.

More children's play area than zoo. We spent 3 hours here. My niece really enjoyed playing in the tractor and fire engine. The animals are sort of like furniture in between the apparatus. Nice size for kids to explore as it's not too big and people were respecting social distancing but recognising that kids like to interact with each other.

My son had the Mini Zoo Keeper experience as his 6th birthday treat. He is obsessed with animals and would like to be an "Attenborough" when he grows up. He prepared the animals food with the zookeeper and feed them in the enclosures. Jamie the zookeeper was a legend! He was kind, compassionate, patient, informative and involved my son in everything. Above all he was great fun and is a fantastic role model. I wish there were more Jamie's in the world. The experience has really inspired my son and he said it was the best day of his life. I would recommend it and Jamie to anyone.

(Translated by Google) A small zoo for small children. There are donkeys and sheep, rabbits and otters, squirrel monkeys and emu, as well as playground equipment for children. You shouldn't imagine a zoo like Ueno Zoo. It's a place you'll visit as part of playing at Battersea Park. Spent today at Battersea Zoo with my daughter. Fabulous experience as a zookeeper. James our zookeeper guide was knowledgeable and patient with a very excited child. Great range of really close encounters with loads of animals.

Great place to visit with my little boy and perfect for first zoo experience. It is very small so won't take more than an hour to go through. There is a little cafe inside but lots of benches to have a packed lunch.

It's a nice day out with the kiddies, the park is fantastic suitable for different ages so if you had a 2 year old and a 10 year old they will have something to do. Zoo i was expecting to be bigger but it was ok size. Animal's look clean, healthy and looked after. My kids love watching the otters feeding time, nice family day out.

There was very little in the way of social distancing during my visit other than the implementation of a one way system. There was no real effort to encourage distancing between adults with it being difficult not to remain in constant close contact with others. While there were signs asking visitors to wear masks in the indoor spaces, nobody observed this. I love this zoo and have visited many times in the past with my kids but, if you are still concerned with social distancing during the pandemic, you will find it very hard to do so at this attraction.

A great place for families. Although I'm not a great fan of zoos, the animals here all look healthy, well fed and, on the whole, have decent sized enclosures. Aside from the animals, there are loads of play areas including playgrounds, sand pits, a helicopter and a fire engine! There are plenty of places to sit, handwashing facilities and hand gel scattered around the place, takeaway food bar, clean toilets and there is parking across the road. The keepers are very knowledgeable and all staff are very pleasant.

Lot less animals now in the zoo i think the playground has taken the space up its a real shame as I remember going there as a child and enjoying it so much

Fantastic little zoo for a animal adventure. Staff do amazing talks at various times of the day about some of the animals. Lots of play areas & places to have lunch

  • 4/5 Chantelle A. 2 years ago on Google
My 2 year old enjoyed running around and playing on the fire engine , he was more interested in running around than looking at the animals to be honest lol I also think the £8 fee for a 2 year old is too much, I think under 5 should be free or perhaps £4, but overall it makes for a nice day out

What a Brilliant day I had at battersea park children zoo! We went to the event ‘creepy crawly day’ that was held over Halloween/kids half term. A big thank you to the two lovely ladies working in the cabin who were so kind, patient and informative with all the children & also set up fantastic arts and crafts. My kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves & spoke about this day to all their friends and family members.

Nice place to visit with kids. The have a nice selection of animals from monkey, sheep, Guinee pigs etc. They also have play areas which helps to break up the tour. It’s a nice day out.

Excellent childrens small zoo. Not too big, can get around in just over an hour! However, they are some great play areas for the kids, adventure playground, sand pit and others where we spent a longer time. Be sure to be around for feed times, keepers are very friendly and informative. If you plan to be there a over lunch time I do advise you bring your own, there is a small cafe in the zoo but with very limited food choices although I've creams and beverages are plentiful. Was a lovely day out. 28.02.22

Lovely little zoo. It has a fantastic play area with huge sandpit. The animals seem happy and well looked after. The cafe is quite basic but you don't visit for the food. I would say more suited for younger children (0-8) unless your child is particularly into animals. My toddler loves it.

  • 5/5 D S. 1 year ago on Google
Very cute for small children. Get to touch a few of the animals and also watch them get fed. There are some very cute monkeys. The otters are so funny. I would say you can do the whole zoo in 1 hour.

  • 2/5 foojjface 11 months ago on Google
Nice staff. More like an exotic farm. The animals don't have a great amount of space and it seems like the surroundings are worn out and old. There are parts of the zoo which were empty and other areas closed for refurbishment. Considering the state of the zoo yet still charging £11 per adult and if you don't use a discount code on an app, you'll pay £8.95 for children....that takes the biscuit.

Lots of different animals. Lots of different talks to tell you about the animals staff where very friendly. The layout was very easy to go around even for my son who is autistic and we had lovely time there. There are different play areas to. We are normal players to swings and things to climb on and it was also a sand bit as well which I fort, very good. The only thing that is a bit expensive is the coffee is 3 pounds 5p. Or 295 for a normal black and white coffee. Car park is very small and it took us at least half hour to find a parking space. There's only four disabled parking bays. so if you're going at the weekend go early when it's first opens up to get a parking space. The park is absolutely amazing. The waterfalls was lovely and generally walking around. It was kept very clean and tidy and bikes can be rented out and that wasn't overexpensive. I think the most expensive one was £30.

We visited the zoo in the summer holidays. We had overall a good time and would recommend for children who like animals or parks. Summary 1. The zoo has a car park relatively near to the zoo 2. There are slops for easier access for prams. I am not sure how easy it is for our wheelchair users who may find some parts narrow 3. Plenty of places to wash your hands 4. Had clean toilets on the day we visited 5. Staff were welcoming and polite 6. The kids ignored the animals and focused on the park (1 and 2 yesrs). 7. The kids were able to feed the animals though mine had more interest in feeding themselves and were disappointed to see the pig didn't eat the tomato they wanted to eat. 8. The talks were well informed, suited for the old kids I would say and possibly adults 9. Plenty of sand and manual machines to keep the kids going 10. Tuck shoo was well stocked Things to improve 1. In the little huts, the slopes are non textured, which made it hard for them to traverse on it. No injures or lawsuits, but as it's a kids' place, it would be good to consider this Though, in general, I'm not a fan of animals in captivity, but this place was OK of you like those experiences.

Amazing, perfect for younger children. Went with a 6 & 3yo and felt comfortable letting them run around without worrying we would lose them. Loads of play equipment to keep them entertained as well as the animals, they loved it. We got a Family ticket on a special offer - not sure we would have paid full price but would go again on a discount. We got the train but would drive if we were going for the opening time again (the car park was full when we left)

Great for toddlers / young kids but probably not much older as there's not alot of animals to see that you'd expect from a "zoo". A bit disappointed with the pig feeding, the kids got one small piece of fruit to throw over the fence and that was it. The playgrounds are great and my kids loved the sand areas so we did end up staying for over 2 hours, but mainly because of the play areas. There was a "pirate ship" area but it was empty so not sure what that was about. Paid about £40 for the family ticket but wouldn't go back for that price.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. An absolutely brilliant experience. The zoo itself is small but brilliant, with a really nice selection of animals. They all look really healthy and well cared for. We too our daughter for her birthday to do the zoo keeper experience, which was amazing. She and her sister enjoyed every minute of it and the keepers Lizzy and Jamie couldn’t have been nicer. They made the girls feel special and really engaged with them. We will definitely be coming back! Also the cafe is really decent and the playground is massive with lots to do once you’ve seen all the animals. Price wise this is great value for money, and a hidden London gem

Love park area for children to play in, it's really big park area aswell for all different ages of children. My children got to see Winnie the pig be feed, and all 3 was included in dropping her food on the floor for her which included as very informative talk about Winnie the pig. We also saw the otters be fed they were very sweet otters. Lots of other different animals to see aswell. The zoo is very well kept, with clean toilets also. Our family had a lovely day out at Battersea zoo and I'd love to come back soon.
