Stayed here for just over 4 weeks, was meant to be longer but had to change my plans slightly. However, the staff have been beyond helpful and go out of their way to accomodate at every point. The facilities are exactly what you'd expect, everything in common use is cleaned daily, and rooms get cleaned once a week (unless you request to not have cleaners come in) and ammenidies are what you'd expect from the description. There is plenty of bathrooms/showers to go around, everything works fine. some of the bathrooms/showers are on the smaller size, but it is really nothing to be complained about. Food is provided twice a day. The portions are very generous and it is good quality/balanced meals, especially considering they cook in such large quantities. And as a vegetarian, I was always catered for just as well as any meat dish, which is unfortunately often rare. So no complaints there. But what really makes the stay is all the staff being beyond helpful. They are friendly and welcoming, and made for an excellent stay. Due to the current epidemic they provide room service for meals and will accomodate self-isolation in every way, including providing private rooms at no extra cost for the duration of the isolation. So that is beyond fantastic. Really can not recommend enough, and will be staying again. The hostel is honestly the best I have been to for the price and location, and I have stayed in many of the hostels around this area before.

I stayed here for around five months, through the second and into the third covid lockdowns. I can’t recommend Sandeman-Allen more as a place to stay. It is excellent value and includes two meals per day, breakfast and a larger cooked meal. Full English breakfast is even available on Saturdays for no extra charge! It is very flexible as well, with just one week notice needed before leaving, making it easy to adapt to these uncertain times. Sandeman-Allen is just two minutes walk from Hyde Park (I timed how long the walk took!) and there are good Tube links and local shops (when they are open...). The best thing about staying here, though, is how friendly the staff and volunteers are. They really make you feel welcome and at home there. The next time I need an extended stay in London I think it might well be with the LHA. Thanks, guys!

I have been living in this hostel for more than one year, and I have no words to describe how grateful I'm for living here. The hostel has a very good environment. The staff team is always very helpful and friendly, always trying to give you the best service. Sandeman is a very good place to meet new people and make friends. The location is also great. The hostel is located two minutes walk from Bayswater and Queensway station, close to Notting Hill, with Hyde Park literally around the corner, and with a street full of supermarkets, restaurants, and shops. If you are looking for a place in London, I would definitely recommend this hostel. Sandeman has a special vibe that makes you feel like home.

Staff Couldn’t be more helpful or accommodating with any reasonable requests, also very friendly and understanding, and facilities are great and plenty full, showers always clean. Do not expect a kitchen to cook in, as food is prepared and included in the price of your stay at this site. Microwaves and kettles available for use, and bookable gym.

Conveniently located within Central London within 3 minutes of two tube stations (Queensway and Bayswater). Nice facilities including a TV room, study area, laundry and a gym with friendly staff running the place. Flexible deals with provisiom for short stay services. Overall, I recommend.

If I could give this property 6-7 stars I definitely would! It's a great place to stay for sure, hospitality is amazing. Especially reception staff/porters are so helpful and attentive. Whenever you need help, it will be sorted in a prompt manner. Property itself is well maintained and looked after. My stay was amazing which is I'm very thankful for! I don't have enough words to express my gratitude towards the experience I've been provided. Thank you so much for everything!

5 star service from the management and staff. Plenty of food for breakfast and a 3 course meal every weekday evening and weekend lunchtime. 100 metres from Kensington gardens. Easily Londons best hostel.

I stayed at Sandeman for a moth and was a great experience! Is just minutes away from Hyde Park and Kensington palace, you can walk to Oxford Street, is also very close to the stations Queensway and Bayswater. The staff and guests are very friendly and helpful. The food is very good, the chef is Italian so that is a guarantee of good food. I really had a very good experience and highly recommended for everyone.

As much as I want to give this place a better rating, unfortunately I cannot. The place is in dire need of renovations. I stayed here for two weeks, in one of their single rooms. The room had been previously occupied by a long term tenant and was not deep cleaned before my arrival. There were stains and grime on the walls, the furniture was in poor condition, and during my stay, I literally had issues with both cockroaches and found a bed bug in my room on the last day. Staff was kind, but any sort of pest is unacceptable in my view. I would have moved out earlier if I could.

Place with good vibes and really nice staff. I would only add kitchen for guests and remove microwaves from rooms, because it's annoying having food smell inside the room plus the microwave bad smell itself.

The hostel was well located, really easy for tube stations and Hyde Park. As far as the room went though it wasn't particularly great, long term guests has basically converted the room into a flat with all the worldly possessions it seems. They were nice enough in the room and it was fine for me not being surrounded by fellow travellers. I definitely wouldn't recommend if you want a proper hostelling experience with other travellers though.
