Excellent location, very helpful staff. The place was clean and tidy. Location is a 10! Very close to 2 major train stations and several bus routes. Waking distance to several major attractions, including museums, Kensington palace, ice skating rink. There's is no shortage of restaurants in this area. I loved the buzz here with people going to and fro. Very upscale part of London. Pipe system in the shower can do with an upgrade. The place was a bit too cold for me, but an extra blanket helps if you ask for one. I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back!

It was good but the services in the house is not good. Once a guy opened my room without knocking the door. He would tidy up a bed but he didn't ask to get in. I lost money with the app for use the washing machines and dryers and they didn't get my money back. Once I moved my night tabe to check if it was clean but it was very dirty. Etc

I can 100% recommend Halpin house for short and long stay. South Kensington is the best location in London and this is the best place to stay if you are lucky to book a bed as Halpin always fully booked! Imperial Colledge, The World famous Museums, Hyde Park, Chelsea - ALL walking distance and Oxford Circus within 15 min! Big and small Waitrose, Sainsburry and Tescos all around. I also would like to say big thank you to the Management and the staff - they are really doing amazing job for keeping the place very clean and functional with happy atmosphere. The Management takes their responsibility very serious and doing their best to sort out problems. I and my friends here are very happy with the Manager as he is always pleasure to deal with! He is very professional with exceptional Management skills and attend any issue with the best care. He is also so knowledgeable, super nice and polite and efficient at the same time - he is really doing amazing job ! We also noted the new Assistant Manager Rizwan - he is exceptionally good with residents (we all noted!): he listens to you and attend any issue with no delay and moreover he effectively achieves the result! He is very efficiently fix the problem or sort out any issue. He is very smart and knowledgeable with excellent Management skills and also pleasant to deal with. He always attentive to each resident and give professional answer or immediately attend and fix the problem. Rizwan is the best addition to the Management! And we just hope the current Management team stay very long time in Halpin house. Overall Halpin house is the best hostel in London with currently the best team! If i could give 10* I would.

It's in a very good location but the management has a lackadaisical attitude. The majority of the staff are volunteers who live in the place in exchange for volunteering. If the management takes management, customer service and cleaning very seriously, they have very huge potentials to make unimaginable amounts of revenue. From a price perspective it's relatively affordable for the location. A good management is the only thing keeping Halpin house by LHA from reaching great heights as one of the best hostels in south Kensington and Central London at large.

The quality is reflected in the price 😅 I was in a two person room and it was pretty spacious. The room has a bed, wardrobe, and sink/mirror that are relatively clean. The beds are not the most comfortable but that’s fine. The communal showers are okay, kind of small, but make sure to bring shower shoes and a robe to make it easier for yourself to change in your room. 2 out of 3 of them always had a weird smell. The communal toilets are something to be left desired, not the cleanest and often ran out of TP. There’s two kitchens on the first floor. Not the best, but it gets the job done if you want to microwave something. A lot of construction going on during my stay here. Overall, do not expect a 5 star hotel. This will give you a place to sleep and shower when you stay in London for a really good price - that’s really it.

We had a nearly perfect stay at the Halpin House while on our visit to London! So much so, that we extended our trip a few days because it was so convenient and easy! The location was PERFECT! It was right in the heart of where we wanted to be in London, with popular and easily accessible tube lines just steps outside the door. The surrounding neighborhood felt posh and safe, and I can not say enough good things about the quality of the rooms and the staff. Everything was kept clean, serviced, and the reception was always so friendly and helpful, even amidst our share of unique and challenging problems and issues. The only *only* downfall was that the showers were a bit of a mess, where as that some did not drain well and the shower heads really had no direction. But this was easily overshadowed by the amazing staff, location, and quality of the place itself!

I would come back! I spent almost 4 months at Halpin House. It’s a great location. South Kensington is a nice and quiet area to walk, many stores nearby. Rooms are bright and comfortable. Clean showers and toilets. I would return.

Lovely staffs and good location. But no included towel and shampoo. Not bad price per night. I will come again

Great location, close to essential shops and places to get food from. The staff are doing a great job in the current pandemic. Completely quiet room at nights.

Value for money considering the location. Quiet area and good public transport connection for most everything in the city centre. Very friendly staff.

I lived there for 6 months. The hostel has just been refurbished, so you will find good quality and well finished rooms, showers and kitchens. Both the manager and the assistant manager, as well as the rest of the staff, are always very helpful and will give you a hand in everything they can. There is a more than decent gym, so you can cut that bill from your expenses. The location is unmatchable , just minutes away from the famous Exhibition Road and the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Imperial College. Hyde Park is at about 15 minutes walking. Everything is included in the rent, and the leaving notice period is just 1 week, giving you plenty of flexibility. If you are looking for a very central place to live, that is quiet enough to be studying or working, but you are also open to make friends, you should try Halpin House.
